Beautiful Resort by the Sea We had a wonderful stay at La Plage Resort. The location is absolutely stunning — right on the beach with breathtaking views of Isola Bella. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, perfect for a romantic getaway or a peaceful holiday. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely terrace and sea view. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help with any request. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of fresh options and a nice variety each morning. The only downside was that some areas of the resort could use a little maintenance, and the prices are a bit high — but the amazing location and overall experience made it worth it. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back!

I walked in as a day guest to use their sun bed. Nothing luxurious about the place except the price. 20€ for a sun bed with a towel at the end of October. Only one changing room available full of piled up furniture cushions. Sun beds have seen cleaner days, pretty nasty stains on all of them. Staff were pretty pushy about ordering something from the menu. I order an espresso that was served in paper cup… for 4 euros?? No water, biscuit or whatsoever. A sip of espresso in paper cup. I mean I don’t mind (over)paying for a vibe or exceptional service. Which was non existent at this place. On the bright side: really appreciated that they offer towels too. And the water is stunning, perfectly clear.

Our family planned a last-minute trip to Taormina. Needless to say, finding a hotel on short notice wasn’t easy. Our travel agent recommended a few options, but we discovered LaPlage on our own. When I sent it to her, she was hesitant—she had never sent clients there before. We decided to trust our instincts, and I am so glad we did.||Let me start by saying we are well-traveled and have high expectations for service, especially since we are in the hospitality business ourselves. Normally, we would book hotels on the level of the Ritz-Carlton (or similar brands), but given the last-minute nature of this trip, our choices were limited. To our surprise, LaPlage turned out to be one of the best stays we’ve ever had.||The service was impeccable. The property was beautifully maintained, and the staff-to-guest ratio was outstanding—there was always someone nearby to assist, greet us warmly, or simply share a smile.||As frequent over-packers, we found the room itself a little smaller than we might have liked. However, the outdoor space—with lounge chairs and a private jacuzzi—more than made up for it. After all, you spend so little time in your room in a place as stunning as Taormina.||Breakfast, which was included in our stay, was spectacular—an impressive spread that offered anything and everything you could imagine to start the day. Being in the food business, we naturally made reservations at the two Michelin-starred restaurants in Taormina, as well as a few local spots. Yet, to our surprise, the best dinner of our entire trip was at the hotel’s own restaurant. The view was breathtaking, and the food easily outshined the Michelin establishments—truly no comparison.||In the evenings, we often enjoyed a drink at the bar, where the bartenders were not only skilled but also warm and accommodating.||In the end, the staff at LaPlage made us feel like we were staying at a true 5-star resort. From beginning to end, it was an exceptional experience, and we would return in a heartbeat.

The most amazing hotel and amazing staff. Diego is the BEST! We had a lovely time. The resort is clean and the most beautiful view. Great location - close to the city with lots of shops, gelato, restaurants. Not to mention the food IN the resort was some of the best food we had our entire trip! Could not recommend more

We were day guests at the beach club. I can not say anything about the hotel expirience. The prices are higher compared to other options. We paid 60 euros for two persons for one day, in the last line. The other beds are reserved for hotel guests, which was fine. Since it’s a 5-star hotel, we expected to be treated normally nice. But the person in charge at the beach (Hamsa) was not friendly from the beginning. With hotel guests he was super friendly and even unfolded the towels on the beds for them. With us he couldn’t care less and treated us not nicely. It almost felt like he saw us as second-class people because we paid for the bed for one day, which was a very weird touch. There was not really any shade available and there were no other guests, so I asked if I could adjust the position of the bed, since that’s something very common that I’ve seen many times. He said yes, but also didn’t help. When he came with other guests, he said in a very rude way that I should move my bed to make more space for them — which in itself is completely fine, but the way he said it was not acceptable at all. We replied that he could also have said it in a nice tone, which then led to a fight with him. He started to raise his voice and replied in an aggressive way. We had to remind him that we were guests and had paid as well for the day. In the end, I told him to just go away since it was not possible to come to a good ending in this situation. I never expected to pay 60 euros for the last line and be yelled at by the rude Hamsa. Not classy behavior at all from a 5-star house. Just to mention, I was with my friend — we are two women, 35 and 38 — and he was around 50. We also reported his behavior to the reception, and they were really nice. Also, the rest of the staff were friendly.

Beautiful resort of the middle of Isolabella! Let’s breakdown the pros & cons…. Pros: - Beautiful ground and serene ambiance - cable car close by in order to get into Taormina bc the resort is in its own cove. - The focus is on the grounds and not the rooms. - Great spa - Breakfast included and it’s delicious. - ability to hire private drivers and and get cabs fast through the concierge - Excellent AC in rooms - beach chairs and towels provided free to guests - They provide flip flops and robes in the room. Cons: - Tiny outdated rooms - No coffee in the rooms, the only coffee available is at the included breakfast - No iron or steamer in rooms so you have to request it and it’s the most outdated iron and iron board. - two tiny included complimentary waters, had to get them from the bar at a charge. - no sunscreen at the beach….they charge 32 euros for a face sunscreen and no body sunscreen. - you have to walk up a huge hill to get to anything but if you’re okay with that then it’s totally fine. - 13 min ride into town or cable car - No beach bag so bring your own. ***some cons are not must haves but would’ve been great to have them considering it’s a “5 star resort”. I would say this is more like a 3-4 star resort.

Stunning panoramic location, perfectly located below Taormina. Would advise anyone to explore local wine bars and restaurants as the local food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and our teenagers were welcomed. Service is not rushed, but you are in Italy so you are meant to take your time and embrace your surroundings. Special mention to Irene, Antonio and Hamza at the beach club who were exceptional and to Alycia and Pasquales on reception who were very informative. Professional even when faced with ungracious guests. Be sure to take mosquito repellent!
