A beautiful and unique place, clearly created with heart.
The restaurant is wonderful and serves very good food.
The live concerts are exceptional.
Unfortunately, there is one thing that spoils the entire experience: very rude and unfriendly staff from Europe.
If local staff were employed instead, this place would be truly wonderful.
The French staff, in particular, were very unpleasant. I like it very much, but it is the second time I walk away stressed. This is so not Cambodian.
I come from Europe myself, and I feel embarrassed by this attitude and style of behavior. I now live in Cambodia and I am very happy here, because people are genuinely kind. La Plantation reminded me of what I chose to leave behind — and that realization was quite shameful.

In response to the statement about a lack of constructiveness, I would like to emphasize that, from a business owner’s perspective, it should be considered constructive when a reviewer identifies the specific group of employees whose behavior falls below the standard of service that the entire team is expected to maintain—a high standard, especially in Cambodia. When 2 people from 1 nationality in one place are rude it looks enough strange to make a rule.
If I had not specified the nationality, responsibility would have been blurred, which would have been particularly harmful. This is precisely the problem of a lack of accountability and the tendency to diffuse it.
However, reviews posted here are not essentially correspondence directed to the owner, and their constructiveness will ultimately be judged by customers who may encounter similar behavior—the same behavior that so deeply offended my entire family.
