La Playa Hiriketiya

Our favourite place to spend all day at in Hiriketiya. We chose to get here early to grab one of the comfy beanbags for the day and had a gorgeous view of the sea and beach. They ask that you buy food and drinks throughout the day for a reasonable price, and so this feels like a great compromise- especially as the food is epic. Can recommend in particular the hummus plate, all the salads, the pumpkin and pizzas! Not to mention the staff are lovely and the pool is very refreshing! 10/10

Best place in Hiriketiya to spend the day by the pool on beach front! The food was amazing we tried a couple of pizzas, hummus and tacos - all perfect! We tried a few coffees and cocktails all served at top quality. Great wine selection too! Amazing value for money. Music was a good vibe. Perfect day at the beach at La Playa! Only thing I’d say is about the other guest! Can people please be more polite to staff ! 3 occasions we over heard people arguing about the minimum spend and the very clear no children in the pool sign (which is clearly a safety regard as slippy and no life guard - it’s a beach club not a kids club) not taking no for an answer- very entitled behaviours. We spoke up but not fair on staff, they are so friendly and attentive and don’t deserve these confrontations. Please bring the same polite and friendly vibes as the club delivers!

This beach club was absolutely amazing and so chic from the moment we arrived. The whole vibe was effortless, stylish, and relaxed all at once. The pizza was honestly to die for — perfectly made, full of flavor, and exactly what you want at a beachside spot. The sangria was delicious, refreshing, and the perfect drink to sip while soaking in the atmosphere.Hummus with zaatar pita was soo good! There were lots of people, which added such a great energy without ever feeling crowded. The music was on point — fun, uplifting, and perfectly matched the setting. The views were stunning, especially as the day turned into evening, making the whole experience feel special and memorable. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, which really elevated everything. Between the amazing food, great drinks, beautiful views, good music, and the overall chic beach club vibe, this place truly has it all. One of those spots you leave already wanting to come back.🌊🍕🍷

La Playa Hiriketiya was such a lovely spot to unwind. I ordered the truffle fries, prawn linguine, and a white sangria — everything was well done and satisfying. The truffle fries were fragrant and crispy, the prawn linguine was flavourful and comforting, and the white sangria was refreshing and perfect for the beachside vibe. Great ambience with relaxed coastal energy — a nice place to slow down and enjoy the evening. Would definitely return when in Hiriketiya.

We were here 3 days in a row! The beach club is a perfect spot to sip your favorite drink, relax, and enjoy the view of surfers on the Hiriketiya beach. They do have a minimum spend per person, depends on the type of seating or beach bed. Due to high demand for space, which is fair given that you would spend atleast 3-4 hours drinking, using thier pool, shower and space to keep your stuff! Minimum spends per person start at LKR 7000 (USD 23) TIP: Go early, (between 11 am to 12 Noon) to get the best table or beach bed. The staff is friendly and clear on giving us info on thier policies as a beach club would do around the world. They have a good collection of alcohol & food. The service is perfect, and slow as it would at any beach club. Thanks to the team at La Playa (Sachin & Ishara) for the great attention and service. Definitely go here as they fullfill all aspects of giving the perfect vibe of being on a vacation.

Amazing Beachfront Hotel & Restaurant with Pool - Pure Perfection! La Playa sits just steps from the water, literally a few meters from the beach. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing, perfect for lounging with a drink or taking a refreshing dip. The food is delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for a seaside escape with comfort, style, and great vibes, this place is a must-visit!

food was very good and different. order a lot of dishes to share with a group of sicks. got served by bright son, one of his first days but alot of attention for us. i would defenitly recommend this place.

La Playa is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are spacious and very stylishly designed. The bar and beach area are also open to non-guests and were always very busy during our stay. As a hotel guest, however, you are allowed to choose a sunbed, and the staff reserve it very reliably and keep it free for you, even if you leave for a while or go swimming in the sea. The staff at La Playa are extremely friendly and attentive, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. The breakfast was delicious, with a very good selection of options – the tofu scramble was the best I have ever had, and the only thing I regret is not asking for the recipe. It is quite loud due to music and the large number of people, but we were already informed about this at the time of booking.
