La Playa (Carmel / Monterey, California) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For more than a century this grand Mediterranean-style edifice has served as one of the most prestigious lodgings in the Californian city of Carmel-by-the-Sea, a bohemian escape for the upper crust of San Francisco and beyond. After a thorough renovation La Playa is at heart a luxurious modern hotel, but one that remains true to the aesthetics and inspiration of its founding. As the name hints, it’s the closest hotel in town to the beach, and among its other attractions are the retro-styled Bud’s Bar and a swimming pool that happens to have been the first one in Carmel." - Tablet Hotels

Beachside Mexican restaurant with a stand alone bar and ample indoor and outdoor seating. Just a 2 minute walk from the beach. Quite possibly the best burritos in the entire Bay Area. We specifically come here for them. If you get them, you must order the skirt steak! They are fire grilled and charred to perfection. You won’t regret. They also have a bar in the back which serves beer and cocktails. The margaritas here are great and don’t taste fake at all. The servers here know what they’re doing for sure. The huge plus here is that you can simply walk around the restaurant and the beach is right there. It’s a wonderful location and this restaurant is HIGHLY recommended.

The all male staff were great. The Margaritas were good, got the Cadillac Margarita. Their other salsa with the chips is very delicious. Their spicy salsa is good too, a bit on the sweet side, but has a good kick. The tacos had a decent amount of meet and their quesadillas are huge.

The ribs are very good. The sauce is so tasty. It is a whole meal with 3 sides, a spicy sausage and a generous slice of cornbread. We keep coming back for it.

You'll find the most amazing Marinated Skirt Steak Quesadillas at LA PLAYA!!!! Also the garlic shrimp was smothered with garlic over rice and was delicious. You can buy margaritas at the bar separately from your meal. They have White Claws if you're looking for gluten free drinks.

Best Fish tacos around here! The margaritas are no joke either! Strong and good! The food has good portions and the best Mexican food around Pacifica!

Been meaning to try and they did not disappoint! Got a chile Verde burrito and man was it on point. Meat, beans, cheese, all of it was perfectly portioned and full of flavor. Definitely will recommend and come back for more. Salsa could use a little salt but that's my fault for not grabbing some

We stopped by here today for a rainy day lunch. Now open for seating. Both service and food was good! We'll be back!
