La Plume: A Culinary Journey with a Hidden Twist
From the moment we arrived at La Plume, we knew we were in for something special. The experience begins not at a host stand, but in a gorgeous, cool elevator that whisks you up, creating a feeling of anticipation and exclusivity before you even step inside the main dining room. The atmosphere upon arrival is chic, vibrant, and perfectly sets the stage for an elevated evening.
The biggest surprise of the night, however, was the hidden speakeasy. When searching for the restroom, we were completely tricked by the cleverly concealed entrance. What appeared to be the washroom door was actually a stunning secret entrance to an intimate, dimly lit speakeasy. It was a fantastic, playful moment that added a layer of adventure and mystery to the entire visit—a truly unique touch that elevates La Plume above standard fine dining.
The culinary offerings were just as memorable as the atmosphere. We started with a selection of appetizers that showcased both fresh seafood and careful execution. The assorted tempura was light, perfectly crisp, and never oily, demonstrating a mastery of the technique. The oysters were incredibly fresh and served with thoughtful accompaniments.
For the main courses, every dish was executed flawlessly. The steak was cooked to an impeccable medium-rare, tender, and seasoned perfectly, satisfying every craving. But the true star was the Duck Tagliatelle. The pasta was rich and perfectly al dente, complemented by a deeply savory, complex duck ragu that was pure comfort and luxury in a bowl.
La Plume isn't just a meal; it's a full-on theatrical experience. Between the elevated entry, the hidden speakeasy, and the phenomenal food, it’s a must-visit destination.
