How to Plan a Trip Along Amtrak's New Mardi Gras Route to New Orleans | Condé Nast Traveler

"Dating to 1757, the oldest standing structure in the Mississippi Valley offers an evocative window into colonial and Native American history, and it’s a rewarding cultural counterpoint to the city’s beach time." - Jessica Puckett

Google
An extremely interesting and historic site to visit. I highly recommend it.

I am always interested in museums that are kind of off the beaten path, and when I found out about this, I knew I had to come. The house is confirmed to be the oldest structure between the Rocky Mountains and the Smoky Mountains in the United States. The building in front is where you pay your admission and walk around to learn about the history of the building and the area. The house itself is set closer to the gulf. So much information is given. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area.

Our choir sang for the 250th birthday celebration. We enjoyed touring the grounds and cemetery after our performance. What an interesting place!

Nice old 1700s house that still stands. Cheap to visit. 5 dollars for adults.

Very informed, knowledgeable docent. Excellent museum artifacts and displays of history from ancient times to present. Unique building methods explained. Beautiful setting on Krebs Lake.

Quiet, understated, interesting with a great view of the lake historical visit. A must see if passing through Pascagoula. It's a great way to spend the afternoon.

I only got to drive up an snap a photo after reading a little bit of history, but just thinking about this place overlooking the water hundreds of years ago is so cool. A cool piece of Southern history!

Great museum full of local history. Air conditioned building housing displays has restrooms and grounds are well kept. Major additional restorations underway to make it even better!

Yelp
We drove all the way from Ocean Springs to see this museum. We arrived at 1:45 pm on a Saturday. Both the museum website and their telephone message said Saturday hours were 10 to 5. When we arrived, nobody was there and the gates were locked. No one answered the phone. Perhaps this is manned by volunteers. But it would take only a few seconds to update the voicemail or website. Since Yelp says this is the No. 1 attraction in Pascagoula, we can only conclude that there's absolutely nothing in Pascagoula worth seeing.

Yelp
The History listed and photos. Being from Pascagoula it's great to see that such things as The La Pointe Krebs House and Museum open to the Public. There's so much we can learn about our past, which is Interesting and Educational.Thank You,Paul Shelton Brooks

Yelp
The information is very valuable in the museum area and the house itself is quite a marvelous structure, though Katrina has unfortunately destroyed a significant portion of this historical site. When setting foot into this house, I immediately felt enveloped in its rich history, easily envisioning how it would be to actually occupy the house. The museum curator was extremely helpful and was a wealth of knowledge about the house and general Mississippi history. Additionally, the gravesite, though somber, is peaceful and filled with burial plots of prominent Mississippi members.

Yelp
The house is currently being renovated but my son's Troop (and the parents) got a private tour today. The museum curator (director) was really knowledgeable and made it enjoyable for us. I look forward to going back.
