We went to La Pollera Colorada is on S Highland Ave and Barry Rd in Clearwater when we first moved to Florida. Eight years later, my hubby and I decided to try it again for a date night. The restaurant design changed but not the décor. I guess they changed after covid. This is a small place in a strip mall and wasn’t busy for a Friday night. The staff was excellent and service was quick. It seems like a place one could spend quality time eating and chatting with your party and not feel rushed. It wasn’t loud and has a great atmosphere. One thing, we ordered a kraft of Sangria, unknown to us for a party of two, it was a pitcher of Sangría. It was a bit much for two. The food portions were very large. We should have shared; we thought we were hungry until we saw our order. The food was delicious and good leftovers. There is also a small case with baked goods but we were too full to even look! We will definitely return.

Delicious empanadas, jugos naturales, bandeja paisa, and you get so much food (we split it between two people). Very good prices. My Colombian husband was very pleased. Definitely recommend. The location (neighborhood/shopping area) is lacking but don’t let that deter you from this great restaurant! They also had some imported Colombian food products and a bakery area.

Love this restaurant, This place truly feels like home! The food is absolutely delicious, just like a home-cooked meal, and the staff are warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in. I was especially impressed with their daily menu, tasty, varied, and affordable. The restaurant is small, but that only adds to its charm and cozy atmosphere. Without a doubt, this was the best dining experience I’ve had in Clearwater!

Visiting our daughter’s church downtown, decided, the three of us, to check out some place nearby. We liked the reviews, so my daughter chose La Pollera, thinking it was Mexican. It was Colombian, so trying some new things. Place was packed, we were lucky. There was one open table, so seated right away. We were brought waters and menus and ordered the Beef Empanadas as an appetitizer. My wife selected the Ajiaco, Chicken and Potato soup. My daughter decided on the Sandwich de Carne, Steak sandwich. After looking for something different, I chose the Frijoles con Garra, Beans with pork skin, Fried Pork Belly, Rice, Fried Plantains and Avacado. Apparently every meal comes with a small salad, which was nice. As we were eating our salads, our Empanadas came. Wow! These were the best Empanadas we had ever eaten. Crispy, hot, well filled, and delicious. Our meals came and they were whoppers. Especially after 3.6 Empanadas with my daughter - my wife only had 1/2. My wife’s soup was huge, most of it went home. As did 1/2 of my daughter’s sandwich. Couldn’t believe it was only $7.45, a great deal and very tasty. My beans and beans were great and I enjoyed the Pork Belly. Again, half went home for another meal. To wrap it up we were brought a small piece of Caramel Flan to try. Food was good, service was great, good ambiance but a bit loud at time. My only disappointment was their hot sauce was not even warm. But altogether a nice meal as introduction to Columbian food. Next time I’ll try something else again!

Let me tell you!!! If you're looking for good AUTHENTIC COLUMBIAN food this is the spot!!! Food was FANTASTIC!! We stopped here on our way home from the beach and so happy with everything!!! The chicken had so much flavor and the yuca chef kiss!

Google
Graat service, great Sangaria and food. We will be back. The owner greeted us and even asked about our meal. Waiter attentive. I ordered the frijoles with chicharron. This was some of the best beans I've eaten. The platter had beans, fried chicharron, avacado,, rice, fried plantain, and a rice cake. The o erall meal is now a favorite. So flavorful. My spouse ordered the carne asada platter which came with a thin slice of steak, rice, beans and sweet fried plantains. Said it was delicious. We ordered half pitcher Sangaria which came with diced apples and oranges. It was perfect. Waiter even made sure our glasses had perfect amount of fruit. Refreshing drink. We were also given a complimentary flan for dessert. It was a perfect sweetness to our evening.

Yelp
The food here was absolutely amazing! My family is Ecuadorian and we have quite a few of my uncles married to Colombian women...this restaurant is 100% authentic. The service was also so sweet...and the flan was PERFECTION at the end! We were so focused on the amazing taste we forgot to take pictures! The light music also makes for a great environment! We ordered the 1/2 pollo a la brasa and the grouper & shrimp in lemon cilantro sauce!

Yelp
I have been a fan of this restaurant since their original location off Linebaugh in Tampa nearly 20 years ago and they never fail to deliver! The service is always so friendly and helpful, the menu is huge and if you love Colombian food, you will not be disappointed here. They have incredible lunch specials that include a salad and flan for under $10. Wednesday is Chicken Cordon blue day and it's so good. Comes with a cream mushroom gravy and beans and rice. As for the atmosphere is casual and pretty basic but clean and you're there for the great food and deals. Luckily my new work location is just a few minutes away so I'll be back again and again

Yelp
Went there again last night and the food is excellent and large portions! We brought friends last night and we all left with doggie bags!

Yelp
No frills, just good Colombian food. I love their empanadas. Such a friendly space where everyone feels at home.

Yelp
This was my first time at this wonderful restaurant. My Colombian friends invited me. Whenever I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop by. The food was delicious, and the price inexpensive, with friendly staff and a nice ambience. They offer some wonderful Colombian products as well. We even had authentic Colombian beer. A wonderful experience. Color me content.

Yelp
BEST COLUMBIAN FOOD EVER!!! Thats all you need to know. Come quickly!! We had the empanadas & platters that came with everything!!

Keith B.

Yelp
Delicious and so Cheap This cheerful Colombian restaurant is located in a strip center on Highland. The staff is friendly and helpful. I started with an avocado salad, a whole avocado on top of a large salad, all under $5. I then got a grilled half chicken which was very tasty and tender. It came with rice, fries and chicken soup. The soup was the weakest part and needed more seasoning and flavor. But the rest was great for under $15. I finished with café con leche and a small portion of flan. I left with plenty of leftovers for dinner the next day. I hope to return and try more of their extensive Colombian menu.

Yelp
Great service and even better food! Don't let the humble setting fool you. The paella was one of the best we've ever had and the Sangria was perfect as well.
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
This is food that's cooked by passionate people. It's a meal that displays as good as it tastes. That's is a locals spot, it tastes great the prices are good. What more do you want? I'll be back as long as I'm in this area!
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
You will not find better prices on food. To my gringos, take a chance, try the hole in the wall spot. Get a platter and some cafe leche or sangria. Don't forget the hot sauce. Great stuff! You won't leave hungry or disappointed. Steak is good, sausage as well. Pork could use salt but it's still good. Beans are great and the rice is phenomenal. Cuban sandwich is non traditional but for $8 you get a sandwich, fries, and pop.

Yelp
#1 Food, Service & Ambience! Authentic latin fare. We had arroz con pollo, empanadas, mango & passion fruit juices, salads & flan for dessert. We shared the arroz con pollo as the serving size is HUGE & affordable. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant--we're going back soon!

Mike T.

Yelp
Food was excellent and the empanadas were awesome! Well worth trip highly recommend!

Yelp
My friends were visiting Clearwater Beach, so I searched for a restaurant nearby for dinner. I'm SO grateful that Yelp brought up La Pollera Colorada because the food here was amazing! I love discovering new restaurants, and even moreso, impressing friends with delicious local eats. La Pollera Colorada offers Colombian dishes at very affordable prices. My husband and I shared the Parrillada for 2, which includes skirt steak, NY strip, Spanish sausage, blood sausage, chicken breast, and two side dishes of your choice (we chose rice and beans). I also ordered fried maduros to complete our meal. The meats served are HUGE, and this platter could certainly feed three or even four people. The skirt steak and blood sausage were my favorite entrees, but all of the meats are delicious and cooked to your preference. The maduros were not greasy, but I thought they could be a little sweeter. Our meal came out to $40, including a cafe con leche. You can't beat the quality AND quantity of this meal for the price! The restaurant is somewhat small inside, so if it's the weekend or common meal times, I imagine it may get crowded. Service was on the leisurely side, but everyone was very friendly. I also thought the temperature inside the restaurant was very warm. Overall, my friends and I had an excellent meal at La Pollera Colorada. I would love to visit again when I'm in the Clearwarter area once more.

Yelp
Incredible meal for what you pay. It's always a good sign when just about everyone else is not primarily an English speaker. I'll be back.

Yelp
This place is the BEST Colombian food I have had in this area, their small place doesn't give justice fie the excellent service and the delicious food, I had the churrasco which was out of this world and our server Camila was 5 stars

Yelp
I can't believe it's been over 9 years since my last review here. We hadn't been in this area in quite sometime. I was scoping out the new Filipino Restaurant a few doors down called Abuhan Sa America. Decided to check this place out again, & it became our lunch spot today. From the start, everyone was very nice. I can tell they did some updates to the place since we were last there which crazy enough had been about ten years ago. I saw one of my old pics on Yelp of my husband too. Aww so cute. Lol. Anywho, we decided on the parrillada for two. This is basically a couple cuts of grilled meat, chicken, sausage, and morcilla which is Colombian blood sausage. We picked two sides which were yellow rice with peas and carrots, sweet plantains and it also came with salad. All of these for us for under $35. I think that's quite impressive. Everything was so good and came out on a sizzling hot plate the size of a pizza pan. Our server was very sweet and helpful. And she also brought us free bites of flan for dessert. I lastly ordered two loafs of cheese bread. I tasted some and wow it is just so darn good. We would definitely come back sooner than later this time. It was such a great experience. Don't be afraid to come here if you don't speak Spanish. They will speak English with no problem!

Yelp
I stopped in for breakfast on Sunday and got the complete breakfast and it was amazing, so much food very reasonably priced and it tasted fantastic. Service was awesome. I also got a coffee and asked for ice and they were super quick to make that happen so 10 out of 10 recommend. I will be returning, it is well worth the drive to Clearwater.

Soheila M.

Yelp
Your service is horrible and the owner yelling at customer when there's a complain doesn't help either
google avatar

Lester L.

Yelp
Dios mio this place is great. The food is delicious and the plates are massive. I had the mountain skillet and it was so much food I had enough for lunch for the next day at work. The service was typical, but the place is small enough that they are nearby. I was there with family so our server realized we were having quality family time so she didn't disturb us by coming to frequently check on us, which we appreciated it. We're definitely going by soon. Their menu is large as well, and they have original Colombian and other Hispanic dishes, snacks and drinks.
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
We enjoyed a fine Columbian meal to go at this local spot in Clearwater. The food was very tasty and very plentiful! I've been eating it for three days. We came pretty early but plenty of other people came in too so it was good to see the business doing well! If you want some amazing chicharron or Bandeja Paisa or fried yuca or empanadas or all of the above, don't hesitate to come here. Life is good with Columbian food!
google avatar

Boon C.

Yelp
Very popular local restaurant. Saturday they have pack house when I pick up my food on takeout at 3 pm. Usually that time don't have too many people. Obviously this is a local favorite. I have order the Bandeja Paisa. This is Columbia favorite combination dish. It has carne Asada, chicharron, sausage, egg. It is well round of meat. Love it. The pork belly was fried to crispy. Food is in good portions. The other dish we have ordered is Sobrebariga a La Plancha. It supposed to be the grilled top flank steak. But when I open at home is grilled pork lion. It is still taste good. The entry come with complimentary dessert as a flan. It is delicious too. Other mixed up the order, the food is still good. Definitely worth a visit. If you order takeout, call ahead because they are busy.

Ser R.

Yelp
Not the best taste of Colombian cuisine but if you have a craving for and you are near by, it is a good option. Fair prices and good service.
google avatar

Leo N.

Yelp
Decided to visit the restaurant for a typical Latin Sunday brunch, the server acknowledged us right away and out order, the drinks arrived within 2 minutes, and the food not much later, I ordered the bandeja paisa and it arrived shortly, the beef, chorizo and chicharrón were cooked to perfection, the only disappointment were the arepas, they were dry and though as hockey pucks, I will skip them next time, the restaurant was busy with many families and the atmosphere was very friendly
google avatar

Suke T.

Yelp
Great lil Colombian spot in Clearwater. Food was super good reminiscent of Miami. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Gabriela P.

Yelp
What a fantastic place to eat Columbian food. High quality and freshly made. Each plate is made to order which does take time but we'll worth it. Prices were great for the portions. Get the sausage, all the meats were great! Service was great, lot of seating indoors.
google avatar

Triana P.

Yelp
We were in town from Chicago and had a taste for Columbian food. It was pretty good. The place was kinda small. But when a large group came in they accommodated them well.

David R.

Yelp
Huge portions - so consider sharing. Nice "family" owned place and great value. Tasted great. Great service.

Herman V.

Yelp
Empanadas were really good and food was ok , nothing amazing. Service was fast ambiance was little better than expected.
google avatar

Tamara H.

Yelp
We had 4 different dishes: pollo al limón, sopa de res, sandwich cubano, and lengua con maduros. All were yummy and obviously homemade. Coffee was also delicious.
google avatar

Fulano D.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood Colombian spot, homey, with attentive wait staff. I ordered the beef empanadas with the 1/2 rotisserie chicken w rice beans. Unfortunately they came out at the same time. A small forgetful salad came as well before everything. The empanadas were very large, filled w meat and potatoes, very tasty. the rosado and green hot sauce made the meal. The chicken comes out a stunning reddish color from the seasoning and had a wonderful moist flavor. The rice and beans could've been better seasoned. Again the rosado and green sauces made the meal quite good. The manager comes to all the tables and checks if all is good. I like this spot for it down home Latin flavor and feel. I'll definitely give them another shot.
google avatar

JP C.

Yelp
Amazing homemade grub! Great service and food was served fast and hot! First time having Colombian beer and it was pretty good.

Dilek K.

Yelp
Nice food, nice people. I tried chicken, rice and beans. Both are so nice. Fried plantation was amazing.

Elsie D.

Yelp
Delicious! And they are so nice to top it off! The inside is a little dated but very clean. I always get it to go, service is very fast for home made food and they never forget my green sauce.
google avatar

Brandon R.

Yelp
Very yummy food. I believed this may be the best food in town especially the chorizo so big and yummy
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
I was so happy I stumbled upon this great place one Sunday. We were so pleased with the amazing and friendly experience we had while eating here. The food was so fresh and tasty... From the fresh jammed packed Colombian empanadas with that perfect crunch of the corn exterior.... Man they were so tasty.. To top it all of the bandeja paisa... boom it was over filling the plate with that authentic Colombian abuelas cooking... I know I will be back for the whole fried fish in the near future... So if your in the area and hungry make sure to stop in and check them out your taste buds and tummy will thank you for sure....
google avatar

Candace S.

Yelp
There was about a 25-30 minute wait time when I walked in but the food was worth it! I got one of the traditional Columbian dishes and my friend had another one. The portions were also huge!

Aira F.

Yelp
Great homemade Colombian food and at affordable price and very friendly staff. Best empanadas in town!
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
This place is tucked in with other businesses! Wonderful food and lots of it! The mountain man slab of crunchy pork belly with steak made to order, columbian sausage (flavor is like a Spivey chourico), fried egg and soft, sweet plantains. The shrimp and garlic was so buttery it was hard to put the fork down. The shrimp were medium sized and very garlicky. The yellow rice was filled with peas and carrots and had a slight hint of coconut flavor. Plantains is the side dish for all the meals. We had a meat and potato empanada for an appetizer which was crunchy and filled with seasoned potatoes and some hamburger. It was good but the meals Is what you come for with your family, lots of food! English and Spanish speaking. Great family restaurant! Support the local family businesses
google avatar

Wil W.

Yelp
I've been a few times and I usually get pork chops and a chicharon. I quit going because they need to clean the grill my food had burnt shit stuck to it. Other than that the chicharon is good but you have to ask for it crispy otherwise it's soggy and gross. They don't know how to cook proteins because they're dry and overcooked. The plantains were ok the service and food isn't consistent at all. I ordered the roast chicken once and that was terrible, I figured it'd be good if you're going to name your fuckin restaurant after it, guess not. The green sauce is good tho but you can teach a kid to make it that's easy. Would I eat here again ? No because the owner is sitting up front playing grab ass with the staff while they could be doing something useful like cleaning and taking cooking lessons.

Yelp
Today I discovered a Colombian style restaurant in Clearwater which has been well established for some ten years. That's the fun and the potential risk and reward of uncovering a personally new gem to explore. Case in point, La Pollerà Colorada translated in Spanish as the "Red Pot." This colorful and comfortable petite restaurant and bakery is a very popular eatery for locals, Latins, and Colombians. I was in a hurry so I asked my server what dish would be available immediately. They were ready in minutes with very tasty marinated fall off the fork chicken with white rice and pinto beans. I was very pleased. Cafe con leche was excellent as well. This is definitely worth a return visit.
google avatar

Wilco C.

Yelp
I have an affinity for Latin cuisine so I will usually go out of my way to find one. Luckily I found this gem that was still open in the midst of this COVID-19. Even better I'm supporting a small business that sure could use some love. I decided to go with the 1/2 Roasted Chicken with rice and beans as well as the Pork Rinds. I has to wait a bit but that just meant my food was made fresh especially the pork rinds. Speaking of it was very flavorful! Good ratio of meat to fat. The skin was perfectly crispy! The small potatoes that accompanied the pork grind has a crunchy skin while still being soft on the inside making a perfect compliment. As for the chicken it was seasoned well, moist and satisfying. The rice was made just right as it was flavorful but not over powering and flip and

Yelp
Visiting from Las Vegas, I didn't have high hopes for great food in the area, BUT, this place far exceeded all expectations. I came two nights in a row. I ordered the same thing; Bandeja Paisa. Absolutely delicious. The service is friendly and they have pride in their food! Sangria was fresh and not too sweet. Highly recommend!!! Please open a location in Las Vegas.
google avatar

Yelp
While Ten stars for the service Super super super friendly staff you can ever think of Really nice restaurant But the food I give give 3.5 stars top Not tooooo meet my expectations The paella is not the best I have tried But it's ok their service is unbeatable

Michael A.

Yelp
Amazing all around! Food, service, atmosphere, perfect. The fried grouper was fantastic and the portions were above average and the price very reasonable.
google avatar

Sylvia P.

Yelp
Friendly staff! Great fresh food! I only remembered to take pictures halfway through dinner . Fresh fruit flavored water, we tried lemonade and mango. Portions are large and we shared. We tried fried turnovers with ground beef inside that we great and the paella with lobster that in my opinion feeds 4 people?! It was so good. Must venture out to try this hidden gem!

Yelp
Great food and service. Nice local place. It was our first time trying Columbian food and it was great.
