November 03 Pros: - Comfiest beds I've had in the 3 weeks of being in ecuador, feels like my own sheets at home! - huge rooms, amazing views out the window of the Statue - beautiful deck, main lounge, outside patio, kitchen, etc, very Colonial true to the name. - hot water 24/7, great flow - Super kind staff - rooms have a dresser, table, tons of space and my God big French windows that opened. - great location - rooftop has chairs and shower if you workout there. - Free water that is accessible 24-7 (some places lock the kitchen access at night!) Cons: 1. No heat (though common in Ecuador), plenty of blankets come w the room! We were never cold. 2. Horrible soundproof, you can hear any little noise and the room are literally separated by a thin piece of wood in some areas. We like our quiet and were lucky to book in low season, but the noise would be terrible if busy. Doors slam open and close, can't get away with it due to their designs. Other guests are respdctul and are in bed early and up early but if you're be to some loud guests or "loving" guests, you're gonna hear every word ;) 3. Buzzer to get in, and to get out (during the day you can get out by yourself but at night both doors are locked. Staff super fast at answering though <30 seconds. 4. The room key is an old style lock and key but is bulky to carry. Super Minor things!!!

Really nice, clean and spacious place here to visit Quito's historic old town, the host is a very friendly, helped us out with our plans. It's got a handy kitchen and we felt very at home here.

A nice hostel near the historic district of Quito. Not the greatest neighborhood but we had no issues. Rooms are large, beds acceptable. The bathrooms very small. One night there was no hot water (we were the only guests so probably turned it off.) owner and assistant were great.

Can't recommend this hostal enough! Great location near Plaza Grande and LA Ronda, delicious breakfast and amazing service by the staff. Jaime picked us up at the airport, got us fried chicken for dinner, and he and his family were always making sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable and safe and enjoying our stay. We decided to stay one day less in Quito at the beginning of our trip and they allowed us to move our reservation for the last night to the end of our trip no problem and even upgraded our rooms when we returned at no extra charge.

The location is great, in the historical center and close to a busy street filled with restaurants and bars. However, the rooms are quite small and the bathrooms even smaller (for individual bathrooms). It was also quite cold, which isn't the hotel's fault, but in retrospect I would have asked for more blankets. Also, as of July 2022 there is big construction on the street where the hostel itself is, so you'll have to ask to be dropped off on Rocafuerte and just walk down the street halfway. Overall it's perfectly adequate for the price.

Short walk from bars and plazas. Rooms have a beautiful wooden floor, there's a very nice sitting area and a stunning rooftop. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The owner was very helpful. I would stay again.

Two of us stayed there together in one room for two nights. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included was yummy, with eggs, coffee, and fruit. Our room was plain but beds comfortable and towel provided. We locked the double wooden doors with a padlock whenever we went out. We took the shared bath option, and that worked fine for us, never a problem waiting for access. Hot water in the shower. This hostel is close to the old restored La Ronda section of town, and we had a great time walking over there to enjoy food and drink.

An affordable stay near La Ronda and within walking distance of other must-see sights in the historic center. We stayed during the Fiesta De Luz so the street was very busy and loud at night but we were every tied every night so it did not keep us up. The hosts were very nice. The rooms are pretty much exactly like you see in the pictures. The room we stayed in, with one bed, was small but comfortable although the bathroom was too tight and not so fun. Never had breakfast here as we just ate at nearby spots. My favorite was the rooftop. Great views of the Panecillo. Went up there a couple of nights, shared a beer, and went to bed.
