No working internet. Paid for included breakfast consisted of only prepackaged roll, apple and drink box. Would have to have heated up water for instant coffee packet. Not as experienced at other hotels in Spain. Non working window shade and no black out curtains so had to go to bead with sleep mask on.

In March, the most evident 16th century aspect of a stay here is COLD. There is heating, but on an eccentric schedule. Staff were very amiable during their limited hours of attendance. The room was nice other than being unheated most of the time. Wifi was "on" but without internet access most of the time (perhaps another way to provide 16th century feel?).

Two ladies enticed me to come look at a room in their hotel. The view from the window was horrid but the room was cozy and very clean. It has a breakfast bar so it is 5 euro if I use it. The bathroom is small but very well set out. The towels are wholesome and white and there is a seat in the shower. And there's wifi which is good most of the time. I bargained the price down from 35 a night to 20 euros a night. There is even a love seat and warm new blankets in the closet.||I'm happy with the small elevator after many days of walking. It is also in a good location, close to restaurants and bars. A lovely place although the noise from the street might keep a person awake. ||The old lady is present each time you leave and return. I asked why the wifi wasn't working earlier and she went off in high pitched Spanish. I just smiled and returned to my room.

We arrived late, in the midst of a fiesta, and although the hotel was full, we were offered an apartment room nearby. The two ladies who welcomed us were helpful and friendly, despite us speaking very little Spanish, and them speaking no English, we were able to communicate using gestures and smiles! Our large room was clean, nice en-suite bathroom with shower, comfortable bed - could have done with an extra pillow. As it was a fiesta day, the music began at about 11.00pm, and finished about 5am, so it wasn't the best night's sleep we'd ever had - but it was great to see the townspeople in their national costume, watch the procession and listen to the band. Llanes is a lovely resort, very Spanish, with beautiful beaches nearby, and glorious scenery - great for walking, relaxing and enjoying Spain at it's best.

Nice location. Dinner was included with our booking. The old lady proprietor took us and another guest to a restaurant for dinner. Before entering the restaurant, she and her assistant argued about the cost of the 10.5 euro dinner! The old lady said it was too much! Dinner was good btw. ||||Breakfast was horrible. There were prepackaged grocery store sweets(I tasted one and could not eat it) and a microwave to make your coffee or tea. There was only instant coffee! Earlier I had noticed there were only 2 packets and asked for more as we were a party of 3. I was begrudgingly told another one would be provided. Upon returning from dinner I found NO additional coffee and furthermore the only envelopes there to be decaf! No one available to ask. We had to go buy breakfast elsewhere though we had supposedly paid for it with our room. ||||The old lady is a bleeping cheapskate. Don't pay for the breakfast!||||Casino Ways who booked our stay should consider using another hotel.

I don't believe you can even call hotel a place where there is no reception service from 9pm to 11am the following day. No breakfast - you are left with the option of microwaving water in your own room to make instant coffee, to be had along with plastic -wrapped bread - and on top of that, they want to charge you for it.||The room was small and the bathroom uncomfortable - moreover, it was very noisy. I tried to complain about the noise but one of the persons at the reception (seems like she was the owner) pointed to my pregnant belly in response and said i had better get used to noise.

The rooms with bathrooms ensuite are decorated in a traditional manner, comfortable and clean. Tea making facilities and a refrigerator are provided. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We are still staying here, for two more days. Llanes is utterly fabulous; medieval, compact, busy, gastronomic. It had been a wonderful surprise and our tiny hotel, La Posada Del Rey adds to it. It is immaculate and we have been treated like royalty. Thoroughly recommend it! ❤️❤️
