This is a beautiful place steeped in history. Movie stars stayed here in the 30s to 60s. The service is excellent. It is so beautifully decorated and clean. We ate at the historic Turquoise Room, a little pricey but the food was amazing! They are also pet friendly!

Arlene B.

Google
Absolutely a beautiful and historic hotel! The room was magnificent, clean and cozy. We paid for a roll-away bed and the bed was made with such care and luxury, we felt like celebrities! The towels were soft and thick, so unusual for a hotel. The hotel was built in 1930 along the famous route 66 in Winslow AZ. The decor is unique and very artistic. Along the wall they had photos of the stars that had started in this hotel over the years, they even had the photos of the celebrities that stayed in each room, we stayed in the Tom Ford room. If you get a chance to stay at this hotel in Winslow AZ, do it you will be glad that you did

Google
Beautiful well maintained Harvey house. So much history. The ambiance is calming. Wonderful place to relax, enjoy good food and beauty in every room. My place to sit and read was in the ballroom in front of the fireplace with Christmas decorations sparkling and trees everywhere. Lovely.

Google
This is such an exquisitely beautiful hotel with a wonderful history and so much art to explore and enjoy. Each room is unique although they all have ornate cut tin light fixtures, wooden furniture (some carved, some painted, etc.), comfortable beds, and a walk-in closet with luggage rack. A shout-out to Forrest in the Turquoise Room dining room for excellent service.

Cathy S.

Google
We went there on a day trip. Stopped and had lunch. Heard good things about their menu. Although the menu was limited in my opinion it was still very good. I'll be back for the soup. Our server was shondell and he was courteous friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated his service

Google
As a small mixed breed dog I find that La Posada meets my needs nicely. The charge of $5 a night is reasonable though humans pay more. There is a large yard that dogs can enjoy. The food is excellent though there are some restrictions on dogs in the main dining room Tina Minona*s paintings are an added benefit though I was concerned to learn she n had been eaten by a lion. App aren't lying it it was somehow temporary. I remember Allen and his dog working on remodeling the first few rooms. The dog was a skilled carpenter.

Google
Had breakfast as recommended by friend. Food and service very good. High quality presentation and delicious. The hotel is absolutely fascinating- we spent a good hour walking through admiring the brilliant art work and the grounds of the hotel. If we came back would definitely stay. Great atmosphere and sense of connection to the area.

Google
It was a very enjoyable day. We stay in a room that’s right next to the railroad tracks and thoroughly enjoy it. It is noisy, but we know that. There are many many rooms that are away from the tracks, but you can still enjoy the trains by going out front and sitting on the patio.I love everything about the hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the museum is really interesting, and the food in the restaurant is very good. Everyone is very friendly and the hotel staff are very accommodating.

Yelp
I was looking for a hotel on maps close to "the corner" in Winslow. Saw this hotel and investigated. Made a reservation and here we are. Pleasantly surprised isn't an accurate description. Blown away. The owners bought this abandoned hotel in 1994 and spent 22 years remodeling and they did a great job. Everyone who works here is great - friendly, nice, helpful etc... The grounds are amazing and currently enjoying a drink in the sunken garden. So much better than a holiday inn express. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We recently stopped again with a friend for Lunch. This place is so full of history it has so many interesting pictures of what it use to look like and so many interesting paintings by the current owners wife of current life. The restaurant was not full when we stopped for a late lunch my wife use to frequently stay as a guest when she was working in the area several years ago. If you have not stopped at this place and are heading on I 40 it's a must stop you will not be disappointed I hope.we have continued to enjoy over the years and continue to find new things we have not noticed in the past.

Yelp
12/23/25 Girls Christmas get together. We had happy hour drinks and dinner. Ambience was beautiful with all the Christmas decorations. Bartenders gave us top notch service. Food was delicious! I would love to come back with my girls for another night out.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The sprawling grounds has a restaurant, business center, book store, museum and gift shop. While exploring the premises I discovered a garden and an area to sit and relax or a grassy area for kids to run around. The book store was cozy and had an array of books and the gift shop was furnished with a lot of items from trinkets, jewelry, mirrors and pictures for sale. The hotel hallway walls displayed pictures of past dignitaries and Hollywood stars that stayed there decades ago. If I ever go back, I would be interested in seeing some of the rooms and how they are furnished.

Yelp
Yelpers, On a road trip we headed North to Winslow, AZ. Make sure you see the historic hotel La Posada the lunch was excellent. Wife had roast turkey with Swiss and I had the art 66 Roast Beef So delicious lunch....Quick to be seated Check out the towns history. I'm sure for the train lovers you'll see a few BSNF trains roll thru town. Amtrak Southwest Chief stops here...

Yelp
I've stayed at hotels all around the world and when I say La Posada is one of the most romantic, calm, tranquil, charming hotels I truly mean it. Wow! I was blown away. It's not often I think I'll find myself in Winslow, AZ but I was driving to Dallas from LA and knew I'd stop here night 1. I had my precious baby girl with me and they are a pet friendly hotel. We loved our stay so much! The bar was fantastic, the restaurant for dinner delish, the property - so peaceful! I'd only driven 7+ hours this day but this hotel was the most welcoming slice of heaven on Earth. If you find yourself in this area, I cannot recommend them enough.

Yelp
Passing through town and we wanted/needed a great meal. TTR abided. Nice rotating menu, nice environment, very good service. This old Harvey Hotel has lots of stuff to check out as you wander the inside.

George K.

Yelp
This is a totally fabulous hotel that is simply a wonderful getaway. I've been there a number of times, and shall return! But...a comment to management: Fix the coffee. The rooms do not have coffeemakers, so the hotel provides free coffee in the lobby. This would be lovely if the coffee were drinkable. But it's not. It should not be that hard to get some decent coffee in. Your second option is really not better. The bar has an espresso machine and will serve you a latte. But that has a $10 price, plus tax and tip makes $13. For a cup of coffee. No, $13 for a cup of coffee is not a viable idea. And it sends a message which is not a good message.

Yelp
We are literally sitting in the bar we got our first drink. Had to call across the bar to get a second drink. That was over 46 minutes ago and here are 6 people at the bar and we cannot get service. They now have 2 people at the bar. Won't be back. I guess it's a one trick pony here. Standing on the Corner at Winslow AZ.

Yelp
Such a beautiful historic landmark in the tiny town of Winslow. Lovely bar, attractive surroundings , beautiful gardens and such a wonderful dining room. A great experience all around! Had a smoked drink at bar.. very cool!

Margeaux M.

Yelp
The people were great! Need to update the quality of rooms. Odors, no cold water, only scalding hot. Bathroom door won't stay closed, fan won't work...
google avatar

Yelp
This is a lovely old historic, authentic southwestern hotel. The room and beds are comfortable, staff is friendly and there is a decent restaurant, small bar and SW shop on site. However, there are no elevators so we had to have staff deliver suitcases to our 2nd floor room as one of us has difficulty with stairs. But, as there is no phone in the room so we had to call the hotel using our mobile phone to arrange this. The only ice machine is near the restaurant which is down a beautiful flight of stairs and across the length of the hotel from our room. No in room fridge. And directly behind the hotel is the local Amtrak station. Trains went through in the evening and before daylight though at least not too loud.
google avatar

Carrie B.

Yelp
What a cool place! Love the history of this hotel and appreciate the quirky addition of the art work by Tina Mion. Room was sufficient and bed was comfy. Enjoyed sitting in the common area by the fire place. Common spaces are all over and there are various games and puzzles available. If you find yourself in the area, it's well worth spending a night and checking it out! Eat at the restaurant also!

Yelp
La Posada, Winslow AZ.....It's nostalgia & a trip back in time. No it's not the Ritz but, it's about the experience. We try to come here at least once a year to escape the crazy world we live in and there is nothing like it. Walking the halls, lobbies & the seeing the pictures hanging outside each room that the celebrities and rich & famous stayed in, is pretty awesome. The restaurant & the cocktails do not disappoint and is this place perfect.....for being almost 100 years old, it's pretty close. Ya gotta visit at least once....

Yelp
Probably the best hotel in town. Its older but has great atmosphere. It is a train hotel and our room faced the tracks and trains come through town all day but also all night. They give you ear plugs. They don't really work. There is no elevator so you carry your luggage up the stairs. The room we had was small and could have used better appointments like better towels and bedding. More electrical plugs. No in room phone. Very small bathroom. There is no bar area where you can sit, have a few drinks and watch some TV. There is sitting around but generally in dark corners and rooms. Did try their restaurant as we ate in the downtown area near the Eagles square.

Yelp
After standing on the corner in Windlow, AZ, we were treated to a great lunch. It's part of the Fred Harvey hotels designed by Mary Colter, so allow extra time to view the historical displays.

Yelp
This was our 3rd stay here in and my in-laws 50th stay, so there's no doubt we like La Posada. The rooms, the common areas, the art and the gardens are all lovely, as are the staff. On this occasional we stayed in the "Tom Ford" room and it was very nice. I just wish they had coffee makers in the room. We always have drinks at the bar (the barman is very personable) and dinner at restaurant, both are very enjoyable. I have one thing that irks me about the hotel, despite my in-laws staying here (and always bringing friends with them) 2-3 times a year for almost a quarter of a century, they are never acknowledged at check in. Never any "nice to see you again" or "welcome back". I find it very odd, hotels that my wife and I go back to time and time again always make us feel special and appreciated (admittedly my in-laws don't seem too bothered, they keep coming back). Other than that, this hotel is a class act.
google avatar

Pavel P.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! It's one of the few Mary Colter houses you can stay in. Yes, it's outdated, but that's part of the fun. Lovely Spanish architecture. Many famous historical people stayed here, like Amelia Erhart, Shirley Temple, Frank Sinatra, and Harry Truman. There is also a restaurant that serves southwestern breakfast. One star was lost for the Death themed art all over the hotel and the old toilet. But a must stay on route 66.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Great old hotel with a lot of history. Good place to stop if you are traveling long distance on the I-10. Their restaurant is great too. A counterargument is that the amenities are somewhat antiquated, but that also adds to the charm :)

Yelp
Another visit to one of my favorite hotels! La Posada in Winslow is so unique, but at the same time, captures the classic essence of the Santa Fe Railroad/Fred Harvey Hotel it once was.

Lynn K.

Yelp
103 My husband and I have stayed at this hotel once a year for the last four years. We really like the charming ambiance of this restored historic Fred Harvey-era hotel. We love walking the beautifully landscaped grounds, or just looking out the window. The hotel has extensive common areas and sitting rooms decorated with comfortable vintage-style furniture and historic photos. It is easy to find a place to sit down, relax and chat or read. We always visit the two attached museums. One displays the world's largest single-loom Navajo rug. The other offers changing exhibits often focused on the history of Winslow. We have tried a wide variety of guest rooms here. Some are better than others, but they are all attractive and comfortable. The Turquoise Room restaurant is fantastic. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We know Flagstaff residents who will drive an hour one-way on I-40 just to eat a meal at the Turquoise Room. The Turquoise Room has a small bar. You can sit in the bar, or take your drink into the lobby seating areas, or to your dining table. During this stay we also visited some of the shops and historic sites in Winslow. However, La Posada is the highlight of Winslow, which is an economically depressed town. Meteor Crater and its great museum is a half hour away. The Painted Desert Visitor Center is an hour away. It is still possible to take the train to and from La Posada. The train stops right outside the hotel, just like in the old Fred Harvey days.

Yelp
For anyone looking to repose from the stress and strain of the big city, La Posada ("the resting place") is the appropriate place in Arizona. From its rich history as a Fred Harvey House, the Harvey Girls, and Elizabeth Jane Colter's architecture of the early 1900s to the museumesque, spiritual yet temporal layout and design in a mission-style Quinta is fabulous. Everything you need to chill is here. From multiple gardens with vast arrays of plants and trees, to games, to seating, to enormous rooms and suites, to its excellent gift shop and masterful modern southwestern cuisine restaurant offerings from James Beard Award Nominee Chef John Sharpe. This is an all-around terrific place to stay! Over time, I have developed as what I believe is my succinct method for scoring the merit of each accommodation we have visited. My criteria are as follows and the results are: 1) ease of access to and from public or private ground transportation [Score:4.0]; 2) convenient and safe parking [Score:5.0]; 3) access, accuracy and convenience of check in and check out [Score:5.0]; 4) atmosphere, ambience, public facilities, lounging areas and access to an office center and Wi-Fi access [Score:5.0]; 5) overall customer service - including but not limited to Hospitality, Support Services, Concierge knowledge, communication, attitude and demeanor of staff [Score:5.0]; 6) quality, cleanliness, value, convenience, amenities (i.e., ironing board, iron, TV, charging access, safe, phone, et.al.) and comfort of rooms, beds, room safe and/or valet services [Score:4.5]; Taking all the aforementioned categories in a scale of 1 star to 5 stars with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best a hotel can be! This hotel rates at 4.75. This is probably my highest assessment for an accommodation my wife and I have stayed at in my years of reviewing. Most positive points at this hotel are: the incredible quiet and solitude offered both inside and out. Especially with the vast array of gardens available to lounge, sip, meditate and relax. Most negative points found here are: its distance from major cities, yet this is what makes it both unique, tranquil, and relaxing. I call this, seductive quiet. My price to value to overall assessment: excellent... more than your money's worth! We'll be back, we heard Christmas time is spectacular!

Yelp
I could live here forever and ever. Took my teen niece and my dog. The niece wanted to stay in a haunted hotel on our road trip, so I obliged. While we didn't see anything supernatural we were stunned by the beauty and comfort of this place. So much to see inside and outside. We got the Bob Hope room. My niece said her favorite thing was the balcony. Mine was the enormous tub and the beautiful grounds. The room was extremely comfortable and she even said it was the most comfy bed she had ever stayed in! The lawn in the back near the railroad is expansive and was more than enough room for walking my dog. They even had a poop scooper and a can for clean up. The staff were very professional. I had take out dinner from the Turquoise Room and it was delicious. The bar tender who took my order could not have been nicer. The gift shop is really nice too. I highly recommend and I can't wait to go back, I am telling everyone about it!
google avatar

CG L.

Yelp
I always said someday I wanted to spend a few days/nights here & eat in the Turquoise Room every night & we finally did it! It was all I imagined it would be. Out entire stay was perfection! The rooms were exquisite. Not only did we love ours, but on the day of our check out we happened to get a glimpse of others as we carried our bags down the hall. Everything is so perfect in this hotel & you can see the thought and unique details that go into it all. The room was so comfortable and welcoming, very clean & loved the color, furnishings & everything about it. The customer service in this place is outstanding & so professional. Our recent stay here has now made this a very special place for us that we will definitely return to again and again.

Tony M.

Yelp
Stopped off here in Winslow and it was a really nice homey place. Would definitely stay there again. Within easy walking distance of the "corner". Also a nice little museum in the back. There is a restaurant onsite but we didn't try it (was a little pricey). Staff were great during the entire visit. Note: there are no elevators but it is only a two-story building and not that many steps.
google avatar

Angie M.

Yelp
Ok- so, here's the thing about this place...If you love the shinning and old Hollywood you'll love this place. Loads of retirees here so it makes for a calm and relaxing atmosphere but the art and rooms reminded me a bit of The Shining.

Eugenia C.

Yelp
The rooms have a nice Santa Fe feel. It was cozy especially with the fire. Rooms are big and clean.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
Stayed here many times. It is a beautiful building, with a modern flair. Great food and a simply magical location.
google avatar

April L.

Yelp
Love this hotel! Very unique decor, great accommodations. Very good food at the Turquoise Room. Well worth every penny! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Brianne L.

Yelp
I honestly have a hard time understanding how this hotel has such high reviews. We stayed here in winter during the holiday break and we're relatively disappointed. This hotel states it has EV charging, but at the time we stayed, only had Tesla chargers on site. They said you could plug in to their outlets, should you have brought your own equipment, but as we assumed they had the entire system, we did not bring them. We also had sand in our room during our stay, which was not great. We only stayed one night as we were on a road trip, but It was disappointing that the floor in the room felt sandy and made it so we had to constantly be in shoes. Overall, I don't know I'd id stay here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautifully designed, restored, furnished, decorated, and landscaped historic gem worth the trip to Winslow by itself! We love the history of this property and enjoyed touring the museum next door. While this is an active Amtrak stop and the very busy railroad tracks are quite close on the south side, from our west-facing room we barely heard the passing trains, even overnight. Each staff member was attentive and polite, and we spent some time wandering the hallways looking at the photos and descriptions. Though we visited in late January (our wedding anniversary), we could tell how well the property was landscaped, and we plan to return again when everything is in bloom. Our room was fairly spacious and well-appointed, and clean throughout. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner in the hotel, at The Turquoise Room Restaurant, and it was perfect in every way. Great service and food (ribeye steak and petit mignon). It was also a good choice for breakfast. There are cheaper options close by, but it was worth it for us to enjoy eating right on-site.

Yelp
Updated review after 4 years. On this visit we stayed in the Wallace Beery Room 117 which is in the original section of the hotel. Nice location, away from the train tracks. The room has 2 double beds, tub and shower. Since our last visit an art museum has been added. It's a must see with a collection encompassing History of Winslow, the railroad, connection to the Harvey Girls and the artifact digs at Homolovi.

Yelp
Beautiful. Unique. Clean. Fun. Fascinating art and decor. Amazing gardens. The ambiance is worth every penny.

Yelp
Mary Colter's Grand Vision of a Hacienda from the Age of Mighty Trains We have enjoyed the Turquoise Room annually for 18yrs. For the last 5yr we have had the opportunity to stay at La Posada annually. Reserving regular rooms and some of the 'Splash' rooms, every room has been a treat. This is why we continue trying different rooms. Always something fun to experience. This time we stayed in a lg room off of the Tina Mion museum on the 2nd flr. We are especially impressed with the staff. During the summer we were traveling heavy, many totes in the back of the pickup. I had forgotten to request a ground floor room. The temp outside was over 110'. Luggage carts are ample but there are no elevators. My husband took the first tote up as I waited with the other 6 lg pieces. Did I emphasize the heat? A staff member offered to help. I demurred as I did not have any cash worthy of this chore in the heat. Besides, my grandmother trained me never to take luggage I could not handle on my own. He responded that it was his job. I stated that I would never ask someone to work if I could not pay them. He stated La Posada pays him to do this job. Upon reflection, I took him up on his offer. Splitting the work is always the best solution. We have experienced multiple occasions were the staff of La Posada intervened to make our stay better. In any older building, AC during the summer can be an issue. We were completely comfortable at La Posada with outside temps exceeding 110'. Everything was lovely. Watching the trains go past from the trackside seating area, behind the delightful ironwork gates, Walking through the gardens, Exploring the hotel, and just relaxing. The ages of trainspotters spans decades and generations. If you happen to be there w excited, waving kids sometimes the Engineers sound the horn as the train slowly passes. What joy! Plenty of parking available and The Turquoise Room for breakfast, lunch and dinner is a treat. Highly recommended

Yelp
If you're into high-end, modern hotels this is not the place. However, if you're looking for quality nostalgia, this is the real deal. Beautiful grounds, 1930's architecture and amenities. Rooms are named after famous stars of yesteryear, the people who stayed when train travel was the norm. Amtrak still stops there. The bed was perfect. The bathroom is typical Art Deco and small. Room doesn't have many electrical outlets, but we managed. Window A/C was available but not needed in early May. The architecture is top notch. They don't make them like this anymore. A lovely place to stay. If you have the opportunity, do not pass it up.
google avatar

Rich G.

Yelp
One of our favorite stops. We love this place. It's a beautiful hotel to stay for a nice getaway. The staff here is the best. Welcoming and very friendly

Vicki G.

Yelp
A friend and I enjoyed a lovely lunch in the Turquoise Room at La Posada during a recent road trip. The historic La Posada was built as one of the "railroad hotels" during the early days of rail travel in the American Southwest. The Turquoise Room was a Fred Harvey restaurant staffed by the famous Harvey Girls. While a train passed by our window, my friend enjoyed a delicious burger and I scarfed down a yummy quesadilla. We couldn't resist sharing a warm bread pudding, and that was a great call. The service was very good. Overall, an excellent experience.
google avatar

Pauline M.

Yelp
This place is a must, especially for those who love history. I've heard of Harvey Girls but didn't know about the establishment and the story behind it. My husband and I were traveling and decided to dine here. We were not disappointed, beautiful place, delicious food, great service, lots of history. Yes, it's a bit expensive but you have to experience it at least once. The restaurant is part of a hotel next to the railroad station. You get to see the train go by while dining. Ok, I love trains too! Dining and looking out the window to see a train go by.... Look up the history and you'll want to visit too.
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
Great little stop along route 40...laid back a throw back some might even say. Slightly pricy but considering where you are...anyway great service awesome rustic setting will definitely go back when through the area

Ocean C.

Yelp
We stayed for two days in November right before Thanksgiving. Check in/check out was easy and the restoration of a culturally significant building is awesome. However, the plethora of large, creepy off putting art by Mion taints the overall feel of most common areas. As others have said "death and suicide are just not very good themes for vacationers".
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
La Posada is certainly a step back in time. While the hotel harkens back to the Fred Harvey-era of a homey environment, unfortunately it means foregoing modern conveniences like having a coffee maker in the room, a counter in the bathroom where you can put down your toiletries, or adequately wall insulation to block out the sounds of passing trains and noise from neighboring rooms. While having a room with 'charming' amenities like a small library in the room might be nice, I would prefer a comfortable, functional room over one that makes you feel you are bunking at your Aunt's house!
google avatar

Keith G.

Yelp
Great dinner and breakfast with our Porsche Club friends! Talk about an oasis in the high desert!!

Nancy S.

Yelp
I would give this resort a 6 if I could! Our room , Deluxe King Suite was beautiful!! Comfortable bed and so spacious! We had our 2 dogs with us and couldn't eat in the restaurant but they allowed us to sit at a private table in the lobby with full service! Our Rib Eye steak was out of this world! What great customer service! I highly recommend this place... oh and just a block from the very famous "corner in Winslow, Arizona!"

Yelp
La Posada Hotel is often booked weeks or even months in advance so I wanted to see what the hubub was about. When I read that the hotel was designed by architect Mary Coulter, one of the few women architects in the 19th century, I was even more intrigued to stay here. Reservations were easy to make online and I looked at the photos of the different rooms both on the website and Yelp to help determine what size room would be best for us. We decided on the king size standard bedroom but in hindsight, upgrading to the deluxe room would have been better for us since we had 2 dogs and a toddler with us and the extra space would have been worth the additional cost. Rollaway beds are available, as well as mini fridges but it is best to book them in advance. Both fridge and rollaway bed were already set up for us when we checked in since we put in a request ahead of time. The entrance is through the gift shop and seems a bit odd to me since the person at the cash register will be the person checking you in and out. There does seem to be an area with non-gift shop access into the hotel but that has been gated off. If you're looking to mainly stay at a hotel to rewind and relax, enjoying the premises, this is your place. The hotel is surrounded by greenery on all sides and while there is no pool, there is a very large "backyard" area with straw bale maze and beautiful gardens, including a pollinator garden. There are all sorts of little green nooks to hang out. The hotel itself is very unique and has a lot of art on the walls, some of it for sale. I thought it was very cool they had a James Turrell piece in one part of the hotel. The morning beverages include a selection of Bigelow teas in a bag, coffee (Decaf and regular), and hot chocolate. Various creamers and sweeteners including packets of honey were available. The on-site restaurant is pretty much your only option for more upscale dining in the town which offers Southwestern inspired cuisine. Each room has a certain old time Hollywood celebrity named after it. Some names include Shirley Temple and Bob Hope. Our room had a bookshelf full of various nonfiction and fiction novels. As for the type of literature, the toddler asked "Are these old people books?" She wasn't too far off from the truth! The bed was fairly comfy, with various pillows of different firmness levels. The bathroom was basic but clean, with plenty of hot water. Shower pressure was OK, not the strongest but it was good enough for me. This is the first time I've had a rollaway bed in a hotel room in some time so I don't know what they normally feel like but this one wasn't too comfy when I felt it. You could feel each spring on the bed but the toddler was very excited to use it and had no problems sleeping on it. If you have pets you will fill out their info and the hotel will charge an initial $50 deposit and non refundable $10 per pet fee. Our deposit was refunded to us on our credit card a few days after check out. While there are trains that pass by right next to the hotel I didn't hear any trains from our room. Overall the room seemed fairly well insulated and the only sounds we could hear were from people walking and talking down the hallways. All the staff we interacted with were very courteous and kind. One of the negatives of the hotel is what is actually part of its charm. Since it is a 19th century design there aren't any elevators here which makes transporting your luggage and going anywhere from an upstairs room a bit awkward. There are staff that will help you bring your luggage up to the room if needed though. Details: - Pet friendly, pet fee and deposit applies - No phones in room - Room towels are made in USA and are high quality pima cotton - No elevators - Complimentary beverage service from 5-10 AM - Complimentary mini fridge available upon request - 2 Tesla charging stations and designated motorcycle parking

Yelp
What a lovely historic hotel! Don't miss the movie downstairs telling of the history of it. Unique rooms, clean and well-appointed. Dining room offers authentic food, with some otherwise-hard-to-find dishes, like fried squash blossoms. Would personally consider it a destination location. We were there to see Rock Art Ranch, but would love to have spent more relaxing time at the hotel. --- next time!!!

Yelp
This is a great hotel. One of the old time railroad hotels, where a lot of famous people once stayed. It sits right on the train tracks, which is cool to go out back, sit and and watch the trains go by. We stayed in Room 121, which had two king beds. The furniture throughout the place was awesome. The restaurant is fantastic. Winslow is an old town and the entire area transports you back into another century. There's a little gift shop and another book shop room on site, as well as art work throughout the hotel to wander around and look at. They have a room with board games to play, and the landscaping around the grounds is beautiful. It's a charming place.

Yelp
My elderly mother, who relies on a walker and faces significant challenges with stairs, checked into La Posada this evening around 7 pm. Regrettably, we were unaware that the hotel does not have an elevator and features beautiful yet lengthy staircases. When my mother inquired about switching to a downstairs room, instead of being informed that none were available, the front desk attendant responded with apparent disdain. She conveyed that my mother could not be accommodated with a downstairs room because it was not specified during her original booking. My mother, understandably, was unaware of the absence of elevators, as this information is not clearly provided in La Posada's hotel descriptions. The front desk attendant seemed to imply that there were first-floor rooms available, but it appeared to be her personal decision to deny my mother's request to switch rooms. This refusal seemed arbitrary and, unfortunately, came across as unkind towards elderly guests who find themselves in need of first-floor accommodations upon learning of the absence of elevators. It is crucial to mention that I personally encountered this individual when I requested the WiFi password and was compelled to prove my guest status. It would greatly enhance the guest experience if the hotel staff wore name tags for easier identification. In any case, the individual I am referring to checked in my mother and father at approximately 7 pm on Monday, September 11, 2023, and questioned my legitimacy as a guest around 9 pm. So mostly enjoying stay- comfortable and cozy room. With amazing lobby rooms and areas, and beautiful gardens. it's like being back in time in a mostly good way. La Posada in Winslow, Arizona is a true gem for those seeking a departure from the typical high-end, modern hotel experience. Stepping onto its grounds feels like a journey back in time to the 1930s, with its captivating architecture and nostalgic ambiance. This historic hotel, once the headquarters of the railroad in the 1920s, holds a unique charm. It's a place where the past comes alive, offering a glimpse into the era when train travel was the norm. The rooms are named after Hollywood stars and famous personalities who once graced its halls, adding an intriguing touch to your stay. Each room is thoughtfully restored, with careful attention to Mary Coulter's original design. The accommodations, while cozy, exude comfort. The beds are a highlight, providing a perfect night's sleep. The bathroom carries an Art Deco style, though it may be on the smaller side. You might find that electrical outlets are somewhat limited, but it's manageable. Even in early May, the window A/C is rarely needed due to the pleasant climate. The hotel's architecture is a masterpiece of its time, a true relic of a bygone era. The public areas, once bustling with train passengers, have a nostalgic charm that's impossible to replicate. The absence of elevators, while inconvenient, is a testament to its 19th-century design. The Turquoise Room, the hotel's dining space, is a culinary delight. The eclectic and delicious menu includes a signature soup that's a harmonious blend of corn chowder and pureed black beans. The restaurant's commitment to fresh, sustainable, and local cuisine is admirable, supporting the revival of the Navajo churro lamb market and local organic vegetable farms. They even prioritize eco-friendly wine service to reduce their carbon footprint. La Posada Hotel's charm extends beyond its rooms and dining. The lush green surroundings, including a straw bale maze and beautiful gardens, make for a tranquil retreat. The hotel's interior boasts an impressive collection of Southwestern art, including a James Turrell piece, adding to its uniqueness. In-room amenities include an assortment of books and comfortable bedding. The bathroom, though basic, is clean and functional. Rollaway beds are available but may not be the epitome of comfort. For pet lovers, the hotel is pet-friendly, with a reasonable deposit and non-refundable fee. The serene atmosphere ensures a peaceful stay, with the occasional train passing by hardly noticeable. Service at La Posada is exceptional, with courteous and kind staff members. While the entrance through the gift shop may seem unusual, it's a minor quirk. The hotel's commitment to sustainability is commendable, from the American-made towels to the Tesla charging stations. Complimentary beverage service in the morning and the availability of mini-fridges upon request add to the convenience. Exploring the hotel is an adventure in itself, with a gallery of captivating paintings by resident artist Tina Mion, a museum showcasing the history of La Posada Hotel, and inviting common areas where you can unwind. In summary, La Posada Hotel is a captivating step back in time. Its unique blend of history, architecture, and Southwestern charm creates a stay unlike any other....

Yelp
Awesome stay! Really cool hotel. Even let us check in early! Nice room. Clean and a comfortable bed. Beautiful gardens. All around good experience!
