I traveled for 3+ weeks in Peru and Bolivia and this by FAR was my favorite meal of the entire trip. It was so good, I went back again. I usually have a rule when traveling that makes me try different places even after I find something that I like. In this case, I took that rule and threw it out of the window because I knew I had discovered a hidden gem. This restaurant has multiple locations, but this one is the OG. The restaurant is shaped like a triangle and gives off old new york bodega vibes, but with a strong Peruvian twist. This is the type of place i want in my neighborhood, because i would be there EVERY SINGLE DAY. The first thing you see when you enter is a beautiful ceviche bar with dozens of different beautiful ceviche options laid out under the clear glass front. The next thing you see is beautiful deli meats and bread with a butcher style worker standing behind it waiting for an order to be placed. The patrons vary from busy business person dropping in for a quick bite between meetings, dressed in suit and tie, down to retiree local who strolled from the couch, with loafers on, to the local corner shop for a quick bite and a beer with friends. on any given hour, you can take a snapshot of this beautiful establishment and see history and stories behind the food being shared. Do yourself a favor and have a meal here. Will not be disappointed.

Really cool local restaurant with delicious food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Local tip from a friend living in Lima for a few years now. Would go back again if I wouldn’t leave today.

Lovely experience here at La preferida. We came in for breakfast and we left satisfied. They have a breakfast menu if you are down to have some typical local breakfast items while you are in this part of the neck in Miraflores. Yes, there are plenty more choices to go for breakfast but what makes this place unique it’s their history and their tapa size (bite size) items. You can find from causas, to ceviche of all different styles over a scallop shell, from shots of leche de tigre to tiraditos. I thought it was a good way to taste different types of “dishes” without having to order the big size dish. Their breakfast combos are the way to go and you won’t be disappointed at all by the portions, so give them a try and I’m pretty sure you will end up adding them you your list of places to go in the morning. I promise I’ll be adding pictures next time! Came in with the in-laws and I personally didn’t have time to snap the good ole pictures.

A real Miraflores classic. Perfect for a casual lunch. We love their tapas style offerings, but they also do good breakfasts and a la carte dishes. This place has been around for many years and they have maintained the standards. The building is beautiful too. All in all recommended!

I enjoyed this location the most has more seats and has a better feel than their other location. Food was great too in both locations I have been to.
