I traveled for 3+ weeks in Peru and Bolivia and this by FAR was my favorite meal of the entire trip. It was so good, I went back again. I usually have a rule when traveling that makes me try different places even after I find something that I like. In this case, I took that rule and threw it out of the window because I knew I had discovered a hidden gem.
This restaurant has multiple locations, but this one is the OG. The restaurant is shaped like a triangle and gives off old new york bodega vibes, but with a strong Peruvian twist. This is the type of place i want in my neighborhood, because i would be there EVERY SINGLE DAY.
The first thing you see when you enter is a beautiful ceviche bar with dozens of different beautiful ceviche options laid out under the clear glass front. The next thing you see is beautiful deli meats and bread with a butcher style worker standing behind it waiting for an order to be placed.
The patrons vary from busy business person dropping in for a quick bite between meetings, dressed in suit and tie, down to retiree local who strolled from the couch, with loafers on, to the local corner shop for a quick bite and a beer with friends.
on any given hour, you can take a snapshot of this beautiful establishment and see history and stories behind the food being shared.
Do yourself a favor and have a meal here. Will not be disappointed.
