How to Plan a Trip to Parma, Italy

Visited Sunday morning and it was quite busy though the staff worked efficiently to help each customer. I was impressed by their professionalism and courtesy in their customer service. They were helpful and knowledgeable in their suggestions and I would happily return on my next trip to Parma. The prosciutto, salame, parmiggiano and torte fritte were excellent. Thank you and my compliments!

Google
you can ask them for tasting. Very helpful staff. One of staff had said to me "Buratta Buono" I ended up buying their burrta everyday during my stay.

Locals definitely buy from here so it’s not just a tourist trap. But it is more expensive than others. That being said, quality of the products is outstanding and we bought cheese and meats from this place. Would recommend for a visit if you are in Parma for sure. The staff are helpful in explaining things if you have questions.

Fabulous and beautiful deli. We stopped on our way from Como to Florence. The ham ad prosciutto were delicious, better than any thing we’ve tasted in the U.S. Staff is also friendly and helpful. So glad we found this gem.

Nice ham and cheese store with a variety of cold cuts. It's been there almost 60 years now. A place to visit in Parma for sure.

Absolutely fantastic experience at La Prosciutteria Gastronomia Parma! The ambiance is cozy and authentic, perfect for enjoying a delightful meal. The selection of cured meats and cheeses is top-notch, showcasing the best of Parma's culinary heritage. Each bite was a treat, and the staff's knowledge and friendliness added to the wonderful experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to savor true Italian flavors. Five stars all the way!

Google
I've bought a Salami and a Prosciutto di Parma as a present. When my friend opened the package we found 2 ham beetles inside. Would not recommend.

Yelp
Prosciutto and Cheese Please! As a tourist visiting Parma looking for good eats, I was not disappointed with my experience at La Prosciutteria. Friendly staff that understands and speaks English was so helpful. We got to sample quite a few cheese and prosciutto before purchase. I love free samples! Worth dropping if you wanting to try some of local delicacy.

Yelp
This was such a tasty and visual stop in downtown Parma to pick up some treats to take home. Upon entering, the staff was very friendly, eager to share samples and answer questions. The facade alone is worth a visit. Inside you'll find dozens of hanging Parma ham legs, plentiful cheese, local honeys, jams, pickled veggies and so on. You could build out a really nice gift basket or Parma round up from this one stop. Try the cheese when they offer a generous sample! Note that like many other bizs in Parma, they close for a few hours in the afternoon. Traveling with your meat/cheese? They'll graciously vacuum pack your purchases for save travels! Enjoy an extra sample on my behalf when you stop in!

Yelp
Immediately WOW right from the street view with the long windows that allow you to stare within and implant your facial impressions on the glass while your saliva DNA drips down on the sidewalk. Inside is an amazing visual explosion of perfectly placed products of all those local northern Italian favourites inclusive of Parmesan, Proscuitto, Lambrusco, that tourists have come to Parma to explore. The counter staff so generous to offer a sampling of the products prior to purchase, however the shop is what it is and placed along the busy tourist walking pathway therefore prices will be higher, but nonetheless convenience and the experience makes it worth it's value.

Yelp
Being my first time in Parma we followed this guide (http://www.italymagazine.com/featured-story/foodie-guide-parma-area) for buying cheese and meats from this recommended store. They also had a bottle of Lambrusco. The employees were very helpful and even vacuum packed each of the meats. I have not tried anything we purchased yet but I have not doubt it will all be delicious!

Yelp
Great place to sample and buy Parma ham and cheese. Also to note, they ship most everything for the exception of Parma ham to the US.

Yelp
Great place to stop and grab some prosciutto and Parmesan. Seriously if you come all the way to Parma you have to get some. The staff is really friendly and they helped me figure out exactly what to get. They also vacuum seal everything which is a must if you are flying with it. Watch out when you are going crazy buying everything in the store because prices still add up rapidly. I would say give yourself a budget before walking in because if you are like me and love food, you might go broke without a budget.
