Food was amazing but I guess they’re going with a French theme of having servers that don’t care about customers. It was a very hot day & we never got any water refills. We had to ask for our coffee multiple times when we happened to have anyone walk by because our server was MIA. Disappointed because it was a birthday (which they knew) and service should have been better. At least the food makes up for it. The salmon hash was phenomenal! The Benedict on a croissant is insane, I’d love to try that next time.

Google
Beautiful spot for breakfast or a pastry treat. I ate on the heated patio and it was wonderful. The service was top tier and fast! I got the corned beef hash and it came with the option of toast, plain croissant or pastry. I chose the almond croissant and it was so flaky and delicious! The hash came with 2 eggs on top as well and they were cooked to perfection! All the ingredients were fresh and top quality. I will definitely be back.

Went for the first time and had no idea this place existed. I came with a coworker and tried the mimosa flight. When I tell you these drinks were amazing I mean it. I felt every single sip I took and felt amazing. The food was also very delightful and made me full at the end. By the way the server was super friendly and nice. I loved it here and Will be coming soon again for the good delicious food.

Google
Super cute and cozy🤩 great place for lunch or breakfast. They have small plates to try. Also great dessert. Wine selection wasn’t as large but it was good. This is as close as you can get to be in France . Lovely atmosphere. Great service and reasonable price 👌👌👌

Google
Had to stop by Lake Oswego and found this place by accident. Perfect place for a nice French patisserie. I have no problem with delayed gratification so we packed up on gorgeous sweets to bring back to our home six hours away. The were absolutely worth the wait. Take the time to stop here for a fun and tasty brunch.

Google
Foods were superb, desserts & coffee were a little bit too sweet for my taste. So many selections on the menu. The service was fast, polite & attentive.

Google
Our go to place in Lake Oswego. The place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The freshly baked croissants are amazing, especially with the raspberry jam. Food is great. The bakery section offers unique and delicious pastries. The staff is kind and polite, making the experience even better. A great spot to enjoy good food and a cozy vibe. Highly recommend!

Google
Extremely posh and delicious restaurant. It definitely attracts a particular crowd. This is a great place to go for mimosas with friends or to take your date when you REALLY want to impress them. Their pastries, tarts and cakes are truly unmatched. I recommend the bloody mary flight, they have really good variety and are quite delicious!

Yelp
On our last visit to Portland, we stopped at La Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie to get some cakes/pastries before driving back to Seattle. We had the Pink Lady along with coffee, I loved the Pink Lady. We also got the Marionberry cheesecake, Black Beauty, and Mango Carrot to go and loved then all. We will be back to try other pastries and their breakfast and lunch menu.

Yelp
20 years in Oregon, and I've never been. Can you believe it? I wasn't too hungry so was not planning on a cup of French onion soup, but then I saw what appeared to be my perfect meal: soft polenta with bacon, spinach, Parmesan cheese, Hollandaise and poached eggs. This looked like a popular choice, as I kept seeing the same dish come out of the kitchen. It was really delicious but could have benefited from a softer poach. These were nearly hard. So yummy and enough leftover for a second breakfast. Really fast and efficient service. Decent coffee that keeps coming

Yelp
You cant visit LO without stopping at La Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie. Whether for a quick pastry or a sit-down experience, I always know I'm going to leave happy. I had the pleasure of sitting out on the heated patio for my last visit and it took the whole experience to the next level. My favorite part about La Provence is that they offer croissants as sides with most of their entrees. It's the star of the show! Especially when accompanied by the house-made jam. I'm a big fan of this place, specifically this location. Go for the pastries, stay for the service.
google avatar

Fidelis A.

Yelp
Desserts and pastries are amazing and whenever I am in town, I always make it a point to get their raspberry jam. So good! I knocked off 1 star because the French onion soup was salty and lacked onions. I didn't have time to have them redo our order.
google avatar

Hannah P.

Yelp
Beautiful ambience, service is wonderful and attentive. Every food item is presented so beautifully and tastes even better. The croissant with the jam is unbeatable! Gets busy pretty quickly so plan accordingly. Great for breakfast or brunch, I haven't had their dinner yet.

Yelp
Love this place for classy ambience great hearty and generous portion food and to die for French pastries and great coffees. Not too sure why the recent nasty reviews but our service was first rate. This place can be a zoo if you come late

Yelp
The food, drinks, and desserts/pastries were delectable! French onion soup is obviously fantastic and rich. I really enjoyed the housemade strawberry jam too - thanks Evan for not only the great recommendation but being an amazing server. We really enjoyed our time!! Other notes: - There is a parking lot with ample spaces. - For each gender restroom, there's only 2 stalls so you may need to wait. - It's quite a large restaurant with tables upstairs, regular inside, and outside as well. There wasn't a wait for us (party of 2) in the early afternoon on a weekday.

Yelp
I've been to all the locations, but this one in Lake O. just seems to be a cut above the others. The green juice was super delish, it will be a regular order going forward. Just read another review ripping the croissant, but it's probably one of the better I've had. The creative Chile Crisp Eggs Provençal is a winner! The odd medley of ingredients work. Service was great, although our male server should not be allowed to work when he's clearly sick.

Yelp
I came in for brunch while visiting a friend who lives in the area based on his recommendation. The positives: It was a Saturday morning and we were seated almost immediately for brunch. The dill dressing on the Salmon hash was very good, as were the potatoes. The inside of the restaurant was clean, there is an abundance of seating. The negatives: The poached eggs on the benedict were completely hard. For a brunch restaurant, I would tend to expect that the eggs would be one of the most consistent items but that wasn't the case. To add to that, once we realized the eggs were hard, we tried to get a server over to our table to put in a new order. Our waitress stopped by the table 2 times throughout our brunch, once to take our orders and once to give us the check. Both eggs were left completely untouched on the plate and the salmon has was about 3/4 left and she didn't ask us how our meals were. After working in the service industry, I know that I would at the minimum come to check on my customers right after they got their food and also if I noticed that much food was left on someone's plate at the end of the meal I would tend to ask them if there was anything we could have done better. We were scouring the restaurant to try to get anyone to come by the table, but unfortunately we weren't able to catch anyone's eye. Overall, I think we probably caught them on a bad day but it's definitely not somewhere I will dream of revisiting the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
I appreciated that they took my number so we could wait further away from the Sunday crowds. Was about a 45 minute wait for 7 people which wasn't bad at all. The service was good and we had a large group. They also let us all have separate checks. I went for the burger and fries as I looked at getting French toast for $17 almost the same price as a burger $18 so went with the burger. All very expensive so that is why I took off a star. They do now how to move groups through quickly but not rushing you.

Yelp
We arrived on the cusp of brunch & dinner menu so we got to choose. We chose the brunch menu & super happy with that choice. Our server was friendly and helped make recommendations for all of the amazing options. I ordered a cocktail (or two) and two orders of the raspberry mojito French toast. My drink was perfectly sweet & tart, a pineapple vanilla daiquiri. The French toast was AHHHHH-mazing! A late arrival ordered the classic leek vinaigrette salad and bacon carbonara deviled eggs. We sat inside in a booth, the restaurant is oriented nicely with a pleasant outdoor patio. We made sure to stop by the bakery case on the way out, so many mouth-watering goodies to choose from.

Yelp
I've now been here twice in two weeks, and YUM! Why has it taken me so long to try it out!? The first time we came it was brunch on a weekend, and the place was slammed. They quoted us as about 25 min wait for our party of four, but a mere 5 min later and our name was being called! I ordered the chorizo hash based on our server's recommendation and it was fantastic. We went again this morning and same thing - around a 30 min wait. We walked around Zupan's Market in the same lot and our table was ready less than 15 min later. This time I ordered the risotto cakes and a hazelnut latte. I love that the croissant came with a little hunk of brie, so delightful. Our server was attentive and lovely. The outside heaters make it perfectly cozy to eat on their open air patio. Can't wait to return and try their amazing desserts!

Yelp
I got there around 6pm and there was still a decent amount of pastries left for me to choose from . Being my first time there and being from out of town , I was somewhat surprised at how expensive things were . Quality was good and service was pleasant.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
The ambiance was great, they have an outdoor section which was where i got sat down and the weather couldn't have been better that day for a breakfast outdoors. Food is amazing like always i have been many times at different locations and the quality of food is at a standard 10 out of 10 across the board for portland, lake oswego, and vancouver. The service is also outstanding very attentive and checked in to see if we needed anything.

Yelp
La Provence is my all-time favorite breakfast destination. I'm over the moon for their oyster mushroom omelette with chèvre goat cheese, and sipping on a morning London Fog tea w/lavender (or vanilla) and frothed oat milk. Absolutely Heavenly... Yum! Pictured is a specialty made breakfast with poached eggs, avocado, blanched and steamed spinach and veggies. They surprised me, when I asked for eggs and veggies Keto-style.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is always extra special for me since I'm a cook and can order it my way, good service makes it possible.
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
Had breakfast here in a weekday! There was a 20 minute wait for a table of 3 of us. Our server was present, quick and checked on us a few times. The food was good, not great. I had the vegan Hash while my guest got avocado toast and the regular hash! Next time, I'll try something new, the vegan hash felt like a bowl of mush. Overall, busy place and would go back again to try another dish!

Yelp
We were surprised to find no wait time on a Sunday for brunch, and were seated right away on the outdoor terrace. However, there were a ton of bees for some reason that day, which kept circling our table, even before we received our food. We were finally nervous enough about the bees that we asked to be moved inside to the next open table. Once seated, we ordered our food and the server brought out the wrong order for the friend. It was eventually fixed, but in the meantime, my food grew cold. I ordered the risotto cake and eggs and they were flavorful, but unfortunately since the eggs had cooled while we waited for her order to be corrected, they were less runny than I would have preferred. The croissant that was served with was delicious, buttery and flaky though, truly the star of the order. We've been to this and other Petit Provence locations before, but this experience was a bit disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
Monte Cristo sandwich was delicious and enough to have as 2 meals. Food came out late but the service staff was great and very apologetic about it and comped us a pastry while we waited. The Versailles cake was very good and not that sweet, highly recommend it!

Yelp
I like the food for the most part at La Provence, but I bought the Strawberry Charlotte cake today and it does not deserve a 1. You can't buy it by the slice, so I had to buy the whole cake for $49. That would not have been bad if it had been good, but it's possibly the nastiest cake I've ever put to my lips. It's beautiful to look at, a work of art. It has fresh fruit on top. However, it did not taste fresh at all. After driving home an hour and putting it in my fridge, 4 hours later when I cut into it, it was nothing but ice crystals. I did not know it had been frozen before I bought it. It honestly tasted like it had been frozen for a long time. It did not taste good. The "filling" was just a layer of what I suspect to be ladyfingers, the same that surrounded the cake. They did not taste good, they were dry & crumby. The fruit should have tasted fresh, but instead tasted old. We were so disappointed! Worse $51 (including the $2.00 tip I gave for putting it in the box.) I've ever spent. I've offered it to all the neighbors, but I feel guilty doing so because it doesn't taste good, which is why we don't want to eat it. At the store I was told if we couldn't eat it all, it would freeze well. Well, it didn't freeze well because it was full of ice crystals, crunchy ice crystals. And I did not know they had previously frozen it. Yuck!

Yelp
Chattery, brunch environment with indoor, outdoor, and upstairs seating! Although we were seated upstairs, the waitresses were extremely attentive and kind. Haven't seen a brunch spot with a variety of croissant sandwiches! I tried the Whipped Feta & Avocado Tartine with side choice of fresh fruits ($17.50) and requested no chili crisp. Came with two poached egg (one was more runny), loads of pico de gallo and many avocado slices. Highly recommend requesting their hot sauce, which isn't spicy but moreso like a Smokey, chipotle sauce. Overall, a creamy dish that pairs well w the pico and hot sauce. (8/10)

Yelp
I used to love this place, not so much for the food but for the ambiance. It's conveniently located near my house, and the warm scent of croissants and freshly brewed lattes always made it a cozy spot for brunch with my family. I frequented the café enough to know the rhythm of service, even during their busiest times. Normally, my croissant would arrive with the latte, and everything ran smoothly. But recently, the service has taken a turn for the worse. On more than one occasion, my croissant has arrived late--sometimes after the main meal--and I've had to remind the server to bring it out. But nothing prepared me for the frustrating experience I had on my last visit. We placed our order at the same time as the table next to us, and initially, everything seemed normal. Our lattes arrived quickly, just as theirs did. Then their food came out on time, but we kept waiting. Thirty minutes went by, and my daughter, understandably hungry, started to have a bit of a meltdown. My husband took her outside to calm her down. I politely asked our server if they could bring out the croissant for our daughter while we continued to wait for the rest of the food. Fifteen minutes passed, and still nothing. The table next to us had finished eating and paid their bill, yet we hadn't even received our food. When I flagged down the server to check on our order, I was met with a dismissive and irritated response: "Checking what? What do you want me to check? The restaurant is busy. The kitchen is working accordingly." I was taken aback. I've never been spoken to so rudely by staff before. Ten minutes later, the server finally noticed that our food hadn't arrived and checked with the manager. They realized our order had been forgotten. When it finally reached our table after more than one hour, the food was cold. They apologized and comped our meal, which I appreciated, but the damage had been done. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. I'm not upset about the kitchen mix-up. What I can't overlook is the attitude and disregard from the server. A busy restaurant doesn't give anyone the right to be rude, especially when customers are simply trying to enjoy their time. Unfortunately, this was the last straw. I won't be coming back. There's another spot next door that I'll be trying instead.

Yelp
Don't sleep on La Provence's "supper" menu! I know their brunch is next level, but with an amazing outdoor patio, smaller happy hour menu, and delicious dessert options (of course). I will be coming back soon! FRENCH ONION SOUP Something about me is, I love French onion soup. Once I learned how to make it, I realized I wouldn't spend as much time and dedication that's required to ever make it again. So now if it's on a menu, I'm trying it. This one, was one of my favorites!Their roux is so good and savory. The cheese is delish of course and the bread and onions, incredible. I will be getting this every time. HH* TARTINE DE TOMATES AU BASILIC Garlic toasts with tomato, basil, feta, olive oil. The garlic roasts were good! Good portion. BOURBON FILET Very good filet! Well seasoned and tender. For the price as well, this is a deal! The bourbon garlic butter Demi glaze was delish. The mash was extra delish but they hooked it up with the green beans! Stole the show hah. VERSAILLES Chocolate cake layered with vanilla, coffee, dark chocolate mousse, with opera icing. This was only okay... the opera icing was a little bit of a let down. Tasted like it had too much gelatin in it. So the consistency was.... Interesting. DRANKSSS Their happy hour Marg was actually delish!

Yelp
My husband ordered tiramisu for my birthday. We were under the assumption that it would have been freshly made, but it was very frozen. The texture was a bit odd. When you pay nearly $60 for a cake, you kind of expect freshness.

Yelp
Been to almost all the La Provence and Petite Provence out there and this one was also amazing. Their space is very adorable and cozy with the pastry case front and center, enticing us with their delicious looking treats. Their menu is consistent with other locations. We're pretty familar with the chain so we knew what we wanted. We shared the Monte Cristo with Fries and the Mushroom Omlette with Chevre. The Monte Cristo is always a favorite and we weren't disappointed. Rich and gooey sandwich full of turkey and ham paired great with maple syrup and raspberry sauce. Their side fries were also crispy and fresh. I also really enjoyed their Omlette which was very well-made and full of herby mushroom inside. The chevre add richness to the dish. We got this dish with roasted butternut squash and potatoes. Delicious. The dishes turned out to be so much food but we had so much fun enjoying them over coffee. They weren't super busy either compared to other locations and our staff was very friendly and helpful. Always a fun time at La Provence.

Yelp
What a lovely and delicious breakfast! Asked the server what she recommended and this was it. It was delicious!

Yelp
My friend Christina suggested we go here for brunch. I've been to several other locations including the original spot in Lake Oswego. That visit was probably way back in 1996. That was when I was married to my French husband. We were there with another French couple for dinner which was amazing. That was the only time I went for dinner. Brunch is my jam. They put me and Christina in the back of the restaurant where we felt free to act like goofballs. We each ordered the Mimosa flight. It was only $18.00 for four somewhat small mimosas in a variety of flavors. I got the strawberry, pineapple and lavender. I was served grapefruit by mistake. It was no big deal. The server was happy to exchange it for me I didn't have a menu anymore so I just got a second strawberry, it was so good. I had to have a Benedict. Ben edicts are my thing, y'all. I got the salmon and it did not disappoint. I love that they serve their Ben edicts perched upon a sliced croissant. Any location I visit, it's always a great experience. And because they tucked us away in the back of the restaurant, we could have fun with our cameras without disturbing anyone. As good as our food was, it was gone before we thought to take a picture of it. We did manage to digitally capture the booze. I guess we will have to return. 2023 - Review #6

Yelp
My favorite place to relax with family or friends. I ordered a toast with whipped fetta cheese, avocado, poached eggs, butter squash, and potatoes on the side. So delicious!

Yelp
Ok, you'll probably learn something very important about my reviews from this one. I'm like that hard Teacher that you have in high school that never gave an 'A' unless the assignment was perfect. Such as the case with my yelp reviews. I do give la Provence Boulangerie a 4 out of 5 Stars, which in my book is an 'A-' I had a delightful breakfast with my wife this morning. I ordered the chef's omelette with fresh fruit and a cup of coffee. I did want to give an additional shout out for their hot sauce. They have a special hot sauce, that is exceptional. It's not hot for the sake of being hot. It has good flavor and really enhanced my breakfast.

Yelp
Amazing food! French themed restaurant with awesome decor. The service was also really good and attentive. The Monte Cristo was tasty and came with a side of raspberry jam. The potatoes were well seasoned and filling. The polenta and eggs was okay. Not our favorite thing but still good. Wish they added a little more eggs on the dish.

Yelp
Delicious, great atmosphere and service The food was excellent, friendly attentive staff Pastries at the front were really good Will definitely be back

Yelp
BEAUTIFUL pastries. Get their marionberry & cheese croissant and you'll be in heaven. A great place to stop in and grab a pastry + coffee to go, or stay for a while for brunch! We happened in here on a Sunday morning and it was packed. Very warm, homey vibes. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

Yelp
In the suburbs of Lake Oswego, this location is a great addition for a delicious local, homey vibes brunch. We came on a Monday mid morning and they were busy. We were seated on their patio and most of the tables were occupied. What stood out during this visit was our service. Our waitress was so nice and friendly, despite being overwhelmingly busy. She took the time to chat with us and provided us service with a smile and an upbeat attitude. Bravo! I got the chili crisp eggs provencal and my friend got the mushroom & chèvre omelette. Food came relatively fast and it was delicious! We both got a side of croissant and it came overcooked and hard. However, after mentioning it to our waitress, she provided us with fresh croissants to take home! La Provence portions are always generous and great for sharing. Their roasted potatoes and squash are always a favorite. Herby and earthy - it beats out every other breakfast potatoes out there. La Provence is a Portland classic, and they also have seasonal menus that keep each visit new and exciting. Pastries, coffee, and brunch, you can't go wrong here!
google avatar

Bennette I.

Yelp
My girlfriend was turning 50 and we were headed to a nearby boutique store so had to kill 30 minutes before it opened and we were not hungry. We stopped by La Provence and ordered the mimosa flight - pineapple, grapefruit, raspberry and orange juice. Two of the 4 were drinkable, the pineapple and grapefruit. The raspberry tasted like cough syrup and the orange juice tasted off. I always love the LP interiors and their staff was friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
This spot was amazing. The staff were very polite and attentive. We didn't wait very long before being seated. Started off our breakfast with some coffee and croissants. The homemade jam was very good.
google avatar

Ciarra L.

Yelp
Desserts- overall are pretty great. I wasn't a big fan of the Tiramisu- I wasn't a giant fan of. It has a crunch to it and other Tiramisu I've had doesn't- I prefer soft/ creamy textures. I can't remember the name for the pink dessert but it's the flower looking one- it's pretty good once you get over the jelly like layer. The tart was my jam. The filling is amazing and the fruit is super fresh. I'd definitely get that again. Service wise- it was decent. It was one gal behind the casing which she was also busy answering the phone that would ring constantly. Prices- little high but also you have to take into account it's Lake Oswego. Atmosphere- the shop this day was quiet. It was a Friday around 4:30. It's somewhat dark lighting so prepare your eyes for that. Overall it's a nice place. Would I go again, yes.

Yelp
This was a pleasant find. I just Yelped and this came up. Wonderful almond croissants and the chorizo hash was amazing
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
I miss a good patisserie and coffee; as much as Austin, TX has, they don't have anything like La Provence and it's a shame because it could benefit from an amazing place like this. Breads, coffee, desserts, or a little breakfast - they've got everything you want! With a nice indoor cafe and place to enjoy your choice of deliciousness, you can't go wrong with their selection. You can also just take it to go and enjoy the Saturday market, or hang out over the lake.
google avatar

Benjamin H.

Yelp
The second most persistent line in Lake Oswego. The food is pretty good. But is it worth the wait? I'd say pop by early for no wait, or look for anytime that you don't see people in front. Otherwise, walk down 50 feet to Jefe, which almost never has a wait and is always pretty solid. Do try their hot sauce, it's great. So's the jam.

Alan D.

Yelp
Had a delightful Saturday morning breakfast. Even though the restaurant was very busy, Kelli Z gave us outstanding service! She was friendly and efficient. Thank you Kelli!
google avatar

Jidapa A.

Yelp
I came here on Sunday at noon, not that crazy busy. The host at front is so nice, also the server. I sat outside. It's kinda cold, but there's warmer! Nice! I ordered ultimate polenta and eggs, west coast Benedict, fruit tart and Envy(kale, apple, celery, cucumber) everything was delicious.
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
So disappointing. The deserts in the window lure you in and the ambiance looked promising. Ordered the filet mignon special with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Filet was overcooked, the potatoes were dry. The asparagus was fine. This was the special? I had a bowl of very uninspired onion soup. I had never been before and considering the great food in the area, I probably won't be giving La Provence a second go. Sad. Something tells me that the owners want to offer something special, but tonight their kitchen staff really let them down.

Yelp
They have great food and great service. The pastries look and taste amazing--the the lamination of the butter in the dough creates a beautiful and flaky pastry. The Monti Cristo I had in the best I have ever eaten. The sweet batter is seared on every side--even the cut side so it is full encased.

K F.

Yelp
So disorganized! Yikes! Poor management... hope they aren't expanding too fast and Sacrificing quality service.

Alonso M.

Yelp
Food was good and the service was fantastic ! I came in as a party of 2 (around 12pm) and we were able to get immediate sitting inside. Next we were greeted by Evan (thank you) which made the experience memorable by chatting with us. Overall, great place and are happy we came here ! (Can't wait to try the pastries)

Yelp
Must have French Onion Soup. Baked goods are wonderful. Service friendly and fast. They get busy but you are not rushed. Well worth the wait.
google avatar

Robin J.

Yelp
This French Bakery/ breakfast/Brunch spot has great food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Never have been disappointed! And that's the best review I could ever give. I used to buy their pastries from a local farmers market; if you didn't arrive early-ish, they'd sell out. That turned into me taking my friends and kids here and now they take me. Return, happy customers have built this business. See for yourself.

Yelp
Great service and staff Great breakfast place, and french bakery. French onion soup, salmon salad, and Bouillabaisse soup. The parking lot was full, but free. Staff were polite and friendly. Great service. The food was wonderful and very fresh. The bakery bread was excellent. Medium high price but worth it. Good atmosphere and French music.

Yelp
Came in yesterday for Sunday brunch. No reservations, first come first serve but our party of 3 got in within 20 mins. And it was still packed! Cute outdoor ambiance. Food was great. Bloody Mary was yummy. Our server was one day off of training but he was so sweet and great! I do want to try some pastries next time. One of the croissants. They all look amazing.
