I was expecting a better experience. Our table was in an inclined place and practically I felt down in a moment I was less attentive. Service professional but with no personal touch. Food was good , but The beef receipt was below expectation.

Google
Well the place is definitely overpriced and the portions are just too small. Most of the food was just ok/nice, but nothing special. But then, the spider pork came. Not even touched with salt at any stage of cooking. Hard to chew (or even cut), tasteless, just bad, wasted piece of meat. When I very politely told that to the waiter he just said that he can give me table salt, and when I started to explain why pork needs to be salted before cooking to achieve the right taste and tenderness, because only then salt can properly go into the protein structure to loosen it while it's raw, full of water without tighten muscles so osmosis can do it's job and season the whole thing evenly, he just turned around and walked away. I asked second waitress, but then the first one, definitely working there for longer, just told her to not listen to me, so she walked away without a word too. Only when I went to the owner I got some reaction. She looked at me with anger but took away my plate. Problem is that she did not say anything and only after a long wait I decided to ask myself what's next if I'm going to get a replacement or different dish or something and only then she was like, ok like she was doing me some mercy and still was very angry. I thought that's it, end of that circus, but then the chef bursted out of the kitchen and started shouting at me mostly in french, but the essence was that he was calling me names because according to him ,,salt is salt" and I will have to salt my replacement dish (ravioli) myself too. Never in my life I saw a chef come out of the kitchen to scream at a guest, and also such nonsense that's against basic cooking science that you learn first week in coulinary school, that salt needs time to penetrate pork. Anyways of course he was lying about the raviolis too, because they were in fact cooked in salted water, as they should and that's what seasons them like salting pork before cooking, seasons it... If he were to cook ravioli in unsalted water his grandma would probably wake up from her forever rest just to straighten him up. I don't know who employees such uneducated and uncultured wanna be cooks. Never going again to the place. Rude even for french standards.

The food was great! Multiple options even on the 3 course menu and it’s great value for the money. Cute little place. I’d suggest to book a table in advanve.

Google
A charming little restaurant tucked away in a side alley. Both the interior and exterior are nice designed for theold town. There is no "à la carte" menu. Instead, a set three-course menu is offered. The starter, main course, and dessert were all delicious. Personally, I felt the dishes could have been elevated with a bit more spice variety to create a more rounded flavor profile. The ingredients were fresh, and the drinks were also excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. A good value for money. It`s ok... We had a wonderful evening with fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere, perfectly complementing the old town charm of Nice.

We were 4 people, and we all felt the same: The starters and desserts were really bad and disappointing. I couldn’t even finish mines. The highlight was definitely the main course — we ordered the truffle risotto, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Super flavorful and perfectly cooked. But the problem was the portion size. It came with just 3 small spoonfuls — way too little — and I’m not exaggerating. I understand that some fine dining restaurants serve smaller portions, but this was just too much. Even a toddler would still be hungry after that. So here’s why we’re giving it 1 star: • Starters and desserts: not good; • Main dish: delicious, but extremely small, really really really small; • And the price: way too high for what you get; We all had to go eat somewhere else after. Amazing taste on the risotto, but not worth it.

Google
Tucked away amidst the many alleys, it would be almost easy to miss this place. That said, the food served up is solid fare. Some dishes are good like their lemon ravioli and lemon tart and their mains like their squid and chorizo rather average. The real catch is a good value for money menu: 3 courses for EUR 25 (be prepared to add 5-6 EUR for some of the fancier choices) in the heart of Nice is hard to beat.

Google
Great taste. Simpel and delicious. The waitress was very nice too. It’s a very small restaurant. And many drop in guest was rejected at the door. I recommend to order a table regardless how many people you are. The atmosphere was tradition France but a little to noisy for my taste. I can happily recommend this place!

Google
Be very careful with this place. The menu is not clear about the prices. I ordered a dessert and a small entrée and they charged me for the full meal 28 euros!! We ordered tap water, and they brought us a 6 euros bottle of sparkling water. I feel like they took advantage of the lack of clarity on the menu. I'm not coming back.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner thanks to other yelp reviews. We loved it! Adorable atmosphere inside and out, excellent service, and then the food...all of it so fresh and delicious. We did the prie fix menu of that week and the kids are still talking about their meal. Some of the dishes: gazpacho, mini "burger" of delicious cheese sans meat, pork chop over silky mashed potato, squid ink risotto, lemon ricotta ravioli, pannacotta, cheese board. We talked about how good everything was throughout the entire meal. I think we were lucky to get a table for our party of five because when we tried to return the following evening with the rest of our group (10 total) they could not accommodate us. My mom was disappointed she couldn't eat the pannacotta again. So maybe plan ahead for a big group- it's petite inside and has a little patio in front outside. We hope to eat here again next time we're in Nice!

Yelp
This was the first restaurant we went to the night we arrived! It was exactly what we were looking for. Tucked in the corner of a side street, upon entering you have a sense of being in someone's kitchen with a couple of tables placed in two rooms lined with stone walls. The staff were so nice and welcoming. We started with the mushroom soup and ravioli. Our main was a duck pastry and truffle risotto. I'd recommend the ravioli as well as the risotto. Can't go wrong with a visit to Petit Cocotte.

Yelp
Read the good reviews on here, and given that it was just down the road, decided to give it a go. Originally tried coming by for lunch, but like a lot of places close by, even the opening hours posted appeared arbitrary at best, and they were closed (even though the lunch hours said otherwise), so had to come by for dinner instead. It's a pretty small place, and from the fact that all tables inside were already reserved, even close to opening, quite popular. Us and other tourists who came in after us had to be sat close together in the canopy outside. The servers here were friendly in explaining the menu, and bringing the food, although you do get the feeling of being rushed by the time you reach dessert, as other potential patrons may wait outside for a place, which does ruin the dining experience a bit, but is understandable. As for the food they have a set limited two or three course menu which you select amongst the categories. I had a puff pastry with cheese in the interior for a starter, and a braised beef with potatoes for an entrée. They tasted delicious, and were presented quite well, but the portion sizes are a tad on the small size in my opinion. So yeah this place may be worth a go, but try and get a reservation beforehand for a better experience.

Yelp
A great dinner! 4.25 I'm glad we found this place as there are so many restaurants around. We did the pre-fix for the appetizer and entree. Escargot with pastry was 5 stars. It was just packed with flavor and covered with flakey pastry. The lamb appetizer was good, although nothing memorable.. A lamb spring roll. The fish two ways was brilliant. Flavor and consistency was flying high. The broccoli was delicious. The duck with potato was good, although nothing noteworthy. The waiter gave some people some terrine on the house and others not, which is why I'm not giving them five stars. The rosè was great!

Yelp
HEALTHY French! Had no idea French food could be healthy, low butter and sauce, but here it is. Great for those wanting a healthy meal but disappointing for those looking for traditional "restaurant type" French food. Tiny place with a lively atmosphere, not enough people working for good service.

Yelp
Very solid meal in a fun alleyway location at a sidewalk table. Excellent foie gras, wine, and mains including lamb and risotto with sausage. Great friendly service that entertained our broken French but stepped in with English as needed. Only minor complaint is that the lamb was a little dry, I think it was a slow roast and so that was kind of the intended style but part of it was a little too dry in my opinion even for that style.

Yelp
Lovely place and the staff is super welcoming but to be honest, it was not that special. The food was delicious but not that unique and I did not feel like it was the best I ever had. We arrived without a reservation on a Monday night which was good and the waiter spoke excellent English although the area is quite touristy and there were many like us. The menu was mixed feelings to be honest, the actual French food like duck foie gras and lamb were ok (not great), where salmon sashimi and risotto which are not necessarily French were amazing... But hey, nice place for a date at a reasonable price.

Yelp
Service was very nice. The fixed meals that we chose was kinda bland for the entree. I had lamb and my brother had the chicken. A little salt and pepper should do the trick. Our desserts were good.

Yelp
Amazing food that should not be missed when in Nice. Flavourful, presented well and service was engaging. After we selected our food we asked for a wine recommendation and it was spot on. A great local place where you can really enjoy the food and your evening!

Yelp
We stayed near this restaurant and walk by almost daily, but almost didn't try this gem because it was such a hidden unpretentious little cozy place in the middle of Vieux Nice. They change their menu weekly depending on the fresh produces from local market. The menu is pre set with a choice of full course or half course ( an entree + appetizer or dessert). The dinner starts with some baguette and terrins ( pâté), the the choices. We had stuffed chicken, baked Cod, and risotto with scallops for entrees and plate of cheeses and smoked salmon for the appetizer, and finished with their strawberry tiramisu. Needles to say we were very satisfied. The presentation, taste, and service were all impeccable. The only small hassle is that you must make reservation in advance as the place is very small.

Yelp
We found this restaurant after hearing a couple talk about it on our walk up Castle Hill. Otherwise, we would have missed it, as we did walk past multiple times without noticing. It is very small, though don't let that fool you. The service was wonderful. They started out with a complimentary appetizer - pate type of garnish with bread and toasted bread. That alone was wonderful. To start, I had a stuffed rabbit dish, which was moist and full of flavor. I then had the cod fish with mussels and cream sauce and my wife had the rissotto with scallops. Very wonderful presentation and the ingredients were all fresh. Both were great dishes. For dessert, Jessica recommended the chocolate fontan with pistachio ice cream. AMAZING. It was by far our best meal in Nice.

Yelp
Definitely the best food we have had in Nice. After showing up when they were fully booked they still managed to find room for four of us outside. The service was amazing and the waiter spoke very good English. We had the three course meal which I highly recommend. If I am ever back I would love to go again.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant!! I live by here and was recommended to go- I'm glad I listened!! It is a cute and clean restaurant, with delicious, gourmet food and EXCELLENT service. As an American living in France, I have high expectations for wait service. The waiters here were so kind and friendly! Couldn't ask for anything better. DEFINITELY recommend DEFINITELY going to return.

Yelp
We stumbled onto this place while traversing the tourist madness in Vieux Nice - how fortunate we were that we were able to slip in for dinner 30 minutes later. Our host, Jean, was attentive without being overbearing, and the food was delicious. Plus, berry tiramisu in a mason jar is the cutest thing ever.

Yelp
Highly recommended! Food is really good and the staff is so nice and friendly. You can choose between 2 or 3 course menu. We had a 2 course dinner for about 22 Euro per person excl drinks. The main course (duck breast) was really tasty, the dessert (chocolate fondant) awesome.

Yelp
What else can I add to the already stellar reviews? The food is amazing and consists of homey French fare. The restaurant gave a complimentary homemade terrine that was divine. I started with the escargot in a beautiful creamy sauce and continued with a flavorful scallop risotto. The other people in my party had the expertly cooked fish for the main. Everything was great. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

Yelp
Great place tucked away in the windy streets! Find it and you won't be disappointed!! We were a party of 3 and each one of use were extremely satisfied with our food and service!

Madelyn K.

Yelp
One of the best meals we had in all of Europe. We managed to get in without a reservation and we see why you'd need one. Server was very nice too!

Namitha K.

Yelp
Best food I've had in Nice. Admitted, I didn't eat out at restaurants a lot as I found most to be touristy. Thanks to Yelp, I found this place hidden in a little corner. It was my last day in Nice and had a flight to get to in a couple of hours. The restaurant owner, Jéan, is a great person to interact with. We got to talking about the US, California and his English is really good too. This was good since I was traveling alone and always welcome conversation. The food is amazing and the baked cod is unlike anything I have ever tasted. The starter was amazing too- an endive salad with walnut and blue cheese. I didn't have enough time to try the dessert and was actually pretty bummed. I didn't make a reservation but I can see how this place could get crowded. If you're looking for a good dining experience without it being too hard on your pocket, this place is a must try for anyone visiting Nice.

Yelp
This place was cute and cosy, but the food a little dull. Wine was average as well. Our duck was flavorful but the risotto was bland and poorly prepared. Service was attentive but overall, the experience average at best.
