Where to Try Bandeja Paisa in Bogotá

"Tucked into Bogotá’s historic center inside a 300-year-old mansion with a storied role in Colombian independence, this venue serves a bountiful bandeja paisa and also offers a vegetarian version that replaces the meats with lentils, chickpea croquettes, vegan blood sausage, and vegetable-protein chorizo." - Veronica Stoddart

As suggested ordered a chicken leg set. The check leg cooks very tender and easy fall apart in your mouth, tasty good . I asked for less rice, and I don’t eat the banana and potato, the rest like corn, all good. The cherry lemonade is a bit sour, I like sweet, but just fine.

After visiting the Botero Museum, we went to this restaurant near Plaza de Bolívar, and it was a very good experience. The place has a cozy, traditional atmosphere, perfect for resting after walking around the historic center. The service was friendly, the food tasty, and the prices fair. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a pleasant stop during a cultural tour of Bogotá.

The service could be better and authentic, and recommend the best Colombian dishes; not just the steaks, just because they are the most expensive items in the menu. We go to typical restaurants to try typical food. And they don't look very happy when you don't take their expensive cut of steak recommendation. I have tried Ajiaco and it was just OK, not hot enough and not very tasty.

The best Ajiaco soup in town. However, there was even a better dish than that: Patacones gratinados The base was so fresh and crispy; meat was so tender and melted cheese was the extravagant. It is a bit crowded and the tables are so close to each other but the food was so good that it’s worth it ;)

This is a very cute restaurant, and the service is good, though without provocation the woman removing the plates from the table was quite rude. I had the Ajiaco soup. Which to my surprise seems so much like American potato soup, but I did like it. My son had the salmon and potato plate which was very good, the salmon was cooked to perfection.

Really nice local restaurant, the service is good, staff is friendly. The food is good. We had a "bandeja paisa" and it was a generous portion. The environment is a little busy but the place is big, so there was no problem.

The greatest endorsement for a restaurant is always when you see it full of locals enjoying what food fare it has to offer. Columbia at its traditional culinary best can be experienced in this Mama’s kitchen style restaurant. The most traditional of them all is the Banjela Paisa.
