La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Phoenix I-10 West

Worst la Quinta I've stayed at. I stay at La Quinta's when I travel with my dog. You would think, given the high price, it's either a nice area or a new hotel but you'd be severely mistaken on both counts. Pillows were old and lumpy and potentially mildew level given the lumps. Mattress was so old and soft I ended up having to try and sleep on the floor. The shower had some kind of rust built up in the bottom. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I don't know what hotel these good reviews are for because it's not this one.

Guest service was wonderful checking us in early that I really appreciate. The property looks good once you arrive. As soon as we walked into the room, the downhill was the room was not up to standards at all, as you can see in the pictures. I asked for a non-smoking room as soon as we walked in I took pictures, and I was not even in the room for 3 minutes and was regretting staying here we drove hours so we had no other choice than to stay. People, please be aware I would not consider coming back even if I was offered a compensation night stay due to the inconvenience. I work in the hotel industry and can tell this motel is not managed well. They need new housekeeping they are awful on doing their job. I don't mind the run-down place, but at least clean the rooms properly sanitize for the sake of God. How sad this property has a lot of potential .

We were traveling with another family and our room was actually pretty nice. We had the king ADA room. Their room had recently been shampooed and the carpets were soaking wet, making it very slippery when you walk from the carpet to the tile bathroom. So, they had to switch rooms. Once they did, the toilet was not working properly and they had to call maintenance. They also did not have shampoo in the room. My husband was locked out when he went to take things down in the morning to the car because they keep the doors to the lobby locked because of homeless people until after breakfast. The area is very shady, and my husband saw two people doing a drug deal in the parking lot from our window in our room.

Room was clean and freshly painted, well stocked with bath supplies. AC was effective. We did not go to the buffet. The problem is the location. We checked in on a Friday, checked out Monday morning. We could hear gun shots each night with Saturday being the worst with multiple episodes of gun fire. Sounded like a gun fight with rapid fire shooting. Streets had many homeless hanging around (not unusual in the entire area). Posted sign said on lobby doors said locked at 8:45pm but they were still unlocked at 9:45pm. No lights in the front parking lot parking. Felt very unsafe.

Positive: Staff was great! Hotel was clean Negative: They tell you during check in not to put key cards in your wallet or near an electronic device. It doesn't help. Each guest has to get key reprogrammed at least daily. This was awful. Dragging bags up to room for key not to work. Avoid staying here.

Clean hotel, extremely roomy two room suite with doors between each very high ceilings microwave, refrigerator, even a sink in the kitchenette. Very gracious staff, every need was met and I would return here without a hesitation. There are plenty of outlets for any equipment you might want to plug in and the smart TV responded when we requested a specific Channel I see some comments about this being a sketchy area, but since we had checked into a previous hotel 15 miles north that was really terrifyingly sketchy and filthy, this hotel was a godsend

Rooms are nice and clean! Halls and facilities are clean and the complimentary hot breakfast is a huge plus! During our stay, some of the doors were not working but it wasn’t too inconvenient. The area can feel a bit sketchy but the parking exit on the other side of the building gets closed overnight which helps make it more secure.

Clean and quiet. Online check in and check out was a great. Car was secure in a fenced off, well-lighted lot. Didn’t have any issues. Nice for a single night on the road from one place to another. The little refrigerator was a bonus as it refroze our cooler’s reusable ice pack.
