this place is the worst. I will just list all the things that were horrible. none of the phones worked in the whole place, no way to call front desk. inside door bar broken off. killed two roaches. tv volume set to very high and no way to turn it down. remote did not work. no coffee maker. not in the whole hotel. pictures and description was inaccurate. there is no breakfast and no gym. Overall room was dirty. noticeable dirt on carpet. we made front desk aware of all these issues. we checked out 3 days early. we even left before 11am checkout on our 3rd day, and they still charged us for that day for early cancellation. this place is a disgrace to the Wyndham brand.

The room was very disappointing. The sheets were dingey and we slept on our own blanket. One of two lamps was missing a lamp shade. The pull out sofa wasn't functional as a sofa or a bed. It was broken and left halfway in between a bed and sofa. The TV remote was missing the battery cover. The cabinet door over the fridge was broken off and tucked behind the TV. There were facial hair clippings on the sink. The only reason it gets one star is the water pressure in the shower was great. Otherwise, this place was not worth any amount of money for a vacation. My home is cleaner and in better shape than this room. Location was right beside the 7 line so it was very convenient to get to our venue. Staff was pretty helpful. Doesn't make up for the shape of the room. Parking lot was full of trash and had lots of rats rummaging around.

About what I assumed it would be in NYC for the price. Our room was relatively clean and the hotel felt safe. However, our window did not lock, we had to get new key cards two (!!) times because they didn’t work, the lights in the bathroom would flick on and off with a strobe light effect for 10 minutes at a time, and the blow dryer in the room didn’t work. Plus no breakfast available although advertised (“because of the pandemic,” which I totally get, but it’s been two and a half years). And we tried to call four times in the days leading up to our trip to ask questions about parking, and they never answered the phone and had a full mailbox. We also emailed our question with no response.

Google
Horrible hotel!! No coffee anywhere in the hotel, rooms have no cups, no coffee maker, no microwave, have an iron board but no iron. Our toilet had to remove the cover on the tank to pull the lever to flush! Told the guy working and he said he would come look but never did! Parking is ridiculous as you have to park behind the building and walk around to the front to get in. I would give them a 0 star rating but it does not allow that! Thank goodness my stay was only 2 nights and there is a mcdonalds next door! Do not recommend this hotel to anyone

Google
I can't emphasize this enough. This place will be the worst hotel you ever stay at. Rooms, service, everything is bad. My Experience: 1. I walk in the room and see blood and feces stains on the sheets. See attached. When I tell the front desk they don't seem surprised and tell me 'they'll get to it'. Long story short, they never did and I ended up changing them myself after a personal visit to the desk 2. TV does not work. Needed to be addressed by the front desk. 3. There is a leak in the bathroom which was tapping all night. Told the front desk, they said 'they'll get to it'... Never did. A theme is developing. ..At this point I asked to be moved. Was told it was not possible 4. The AC is pumping an odd odor. 5. I thought the tapping in the bathroom would keep me up all night. I was wrong... Turns out I was kept up by the paper thin walls and people screaming obscenities at the top of their lungs at 4am. Decided to cut my stay short after one night. You should avoid it all together. I will be reaching out to corporate

Google
Hotel charged $60 for 1 hour early checkin. Staying for three nights and there was no room cleanup, no new towels, no room service, no working ice machine (or bucket), no garage bin. Garbage and finished food had to be piled in the entry way for three days. The TV remote did not work expect to turn TV on, no volume, no channel change. The room phone was not connected to the wall and the handset was missing its cord as well. There was no room safe or secure bag storage. Instructed to leave bags in lobby at our own risk for 4 hours. The room cards did not work at checkin, maid had to open initial door. Cards stopped working again the next day, more walking back and forth to see the unfriendly lobby staff. There is only one positive, it's location on the 7 train. But for the final cost paid, it would have better to stay directly in Manhattan.

Google
It is the worst experience in my life. I did the check in but when I saw the room I cancelled the reservation. I lost money but I prefer lost money because the room and the building was in poor condition. the room was not clean for a long time, hair in the bed and bathroom and the roof and floor was dirty and in very bad condition. I spoke with other guest and the had the same situation and the rooms are in very bad condition. You will lose your money.... please don't make the reservation in this hotel for your safety and your family. I have pictures and videos showing the poor hotel condition. My rating is 0 stars. they need to closed this hotel. it is not good.

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! I booked here to save money since staying in New York is expensive. But if I were to do this again, I'd be willing to fork up the extra hundreds of dollars to stay somewhere else. I booked two nights (Friday and Saturday) through Hotwire and paid upfront for a discount. I was arriving on a red eye flight since I didn't have any other option, so even though I booked Friday to Saturday, I would not arrive until 8am Saturday. When I arrived, I was told that my booking had been canceled and I would NOT get a refund. Apparently they had some "policy" where if you don't check in between 3pm on the first day (Friday) and 7am on the second day (Saturday), your booking is automatically canceled. Even if you pay upfront (which was $345 for two nights). The front desk person told me that if I wanted a room, I'd need to fork up another $300 for one night. I asked to see where it was written in the policies since all I saw in the booking was that check in was after 3pm Friday, and they refused to point me to anywhere it was written, but instead just kept insisting that was the policy. After arguing for a long time and arguing with Hotwire support (which you should also never trust), they eventually gave us the room from our original booking as a "courtesy" and told me that they just wanted me to "go through the process" as a lesson. I finally get to the room and the door wasn't even locked as though someone had gone in before us. Someone had cut the lamp wire so that there was no light in the room except for one by the door and the bathroom. In addition, the sheets, pillows, and towels were all stained, there was a hole in the bedsheet, and the window was foggy and cracked. DON'T STAY HERE IT'S A SCAM!

Yelp
They canceled the bookings so they could house all the illegal immigrants with our tax dollars and wanted to hide it from the public Yesterday I arrived for my vacation and saw a notice on the door. "Closed due to emergency" they had a very aggressive security woman who physically pushed people out and was louder than a gorilla in heat. As I walked in she shouted "get out, you don't belong here, mmmm mmmmm nope" I told her I have a reservation for a week here. This is where she got louder and started to physically push. I pulled out the documents and she said to go talk to the guy at the counter. The guy was polite and said that they sent notices and refunds of which I or the other couple did not receive. He said sorry but we are closed and you have to find another hotel. I told him, no worries, can I use your bathroom first. He directed me the way until the gorilla in heat started yelling and pushing with her "mmmm mmmm mmmmm no you won't." Even after she saw I got permission. Later found out that this hotel cancelled all reservations and didn't notify anyone. They kept the money which I am still trying to get back through corporate. So not stay here or book here EVER.

Yelp
This was the most disgusting hotel that I have ever stayed at in my entire life. This hotel is a COVID risk waiting to happen. Bed linen was soo dirty that my family and I stripped all the linen off the bed and slept in our outside clothes. Hair and stains on everything. My family and I had to disinfect the entire room upon arrival because the desks were sticky. They only provided one set of towels and wash cloths even though I reserved a room with 2 Queen sized beds. When house keeping came with the additional towels and wash cloths, the towels were face towels, not full body towels. Its hard to use the shower in the bathrooms and I felt so dirty even attempting to wash up here. Like skin crawling dirty. The garbage can were full because no one took out the trash. The blankets had cigarette burns on them even though there is a no smoking sign. Dudes were hanging out in the lobby upon entry. The staff is rude and miserable. They clearly hate their jobs. No hotel parking. No breakfast or food accomadations which can be expected because we are living through a pandemic but the price doesnt reflect all of the things not available. But the worse part of this stay was that I cancelled the remaining days on my reservation and have to fight with management to get a refund. The hotel does not abide by their own cancellation policy. When I kept caling, no one answered the phone for about 4-5 hours, which forced me to returned to the hotel to inquire about my refund. The front desk staff was also performing housekeeping duties at the time and had no intentions of helping us contact upper management. During a time when every dollar counts, dont waste it somewhere that isnt SAFE. There are other hotels with affordable prices and better accomadations.

Yelp
BEWARE! FILTHY IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT This place needs to be shut down! They are for sure housing the homeless. Rooms are filthy. Dirty sheets. BLOOD STAINS AND SHEETS AND MATTRESS COVER. I never got a new mattress cover or pillow cases. There were bugs in the bathroom. I couldn't get a refund because I booked it through a discount hotel site. La Quinta is doing NOTHING about this place or issuing refunds. They told me this location is their own franchise and to talk to them. THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE OR AT THE FRONT DESK. STAY AWAY! I may never stay at this brand again. Sad they are letting guests deal with this. Disgrace

Yelp
This hotel is conveniently located between the 33 St - Rawson St Station and the 40 St - Lowery St Station of the 7 Line. I stayed here for the NYC Marathon as it was a cheaper option to staying anywhere in Manhattan. Since it was so close to the 7 Line, it was very easy getting to the morning race day bus pick-up location over at the NY Public Library. Check-in process was okay. It wasn't the friendliest of exchanges, but it was done fairly quickly. I had trouble opening the room door and they were able to show me how to open it. Apparently I was sliding the card too quickly which is normally how they would want you to slide your card at a credit card reader. A slow slide of the card did the trick. The room was showing its age, but it was fairly clean. The sheets and towels were clean. However during my 2 night stay I did see some very tiny ants crawling around. Just thankful they weren't bed bugs. There were plenty of food options within walking distance including a McDonald's just right across the street.

Yelp
0/10 I made the mistake of booking this hotel. It was literally an accident. There is another hotel that has an extremely similar name. Once I arrived here and realized the mistake, everything just went downhill from there. We arrived and the lobby was super tiny, outdated, and looked very unsanitary. The front desk staff sits behind a giant window that resembles bullet proof glass you often see in liquor stores. The gentleman working there was all by himself, and not doing the greatest job. Once we quickly realized this was NOT the hotel we thought we were staying in, we decided to just stay since the reservation was already made, despite the poor aesthetics of the lobby. We were given our room key and number. We got to the elevator, which was immediately a red flag. The button looked like it was glued on with wood glue. We reluctantly entered and went to our floor. The halls were very tiny, and there was an unpleasant stench. We were feeling very uneasy at this point, but hoped the room would turn things around. SPOILER ALERT-- It did NOT turn things around. We used the given key card to open the hotel room and to our surprise it was already being used by other guests!! Yes, we were given a room that was currently booked. The level of awkwardness was through the roof. That was enough for us. We return the room key and told the staff that we did not want another room. We would just like to cancel our reservations. He told us that we would have to contact the hotel customer service number to discuss getting a refund for the remaining nights. As we waited in the lobby on hold with customer service, there were other guests complaining about how dirty and unsanitary their rooms were. This was in July 2022. We are currently STILL waiting for a refund from the property for our stay. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this place.

Yelp
People... please read all reviews on this property first before you book through anywhere. We came to visit and checked in for 2 nights. Grate location as long as you can get over the bad rooms, smell in the room, yellow bed sheets, dirty bathrooms. Don't believe me, see the pics I've posted. Also when I checked out the person at the counter told me he had checked me out. But he didn't and then they never credited my account. Hotels.com will not post my review. Now sure how they even received a 3 star here.

Yelp
This was a terrible hotel! First there were no wash clothes or drinking cups in the room. I didn't realize about the missing washcloths until I was ready to take a shower. As the front desk clerks never answers the phone, I had to get dressed and go downstairs and was told by the clerk that they don't provide washcloths! Thought he was joking but he was serious so I asked him what I was supposed to use and he said use the hand towel (the 2 ft long hand towel). So this is what we had to use during our three day stay here. Other issues: There was no stopper in the bathroom sink (photo) The bedside lamp was missing the on/off switch so it was inoperable (photo) There was mold on the shower ceiling. (photo) The water from the shower-head had very low water pressure. The desk clerks never answer the phones. If I wanted to speak with them I had to walk downstairs and they were always preoccupied with their cell phones. Guess is too much trouble to answer the hotel phone when guests are calling about an issue. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone as it was the worst hotel have ever stayed in and am surprised La Quinta would have their name on a place like this.

Yelp
STAY AWAY... This hotel should be condemned! The hotel has almost no parking and good luck if you find a spot because it does not seem safe in their tiny parking area and the sign even states park at your own risk. While back there I found an abandoned car and another car had 2 men smoking marijuana. While leaving the parking lot a side door swings open and out comes a Prostitute collecting her money while walking out. I should have left then but it was Saturday night and I booked the hotel and paid ahead through Travelocity and I figured how much worse could it be ? Little did I know... Entering the hotel was no better. The hotel is completely run down and it does not need to be fixed it needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. If you have a lot of luggage you either have to carry it down or up a flight to get an elevator as their is no elevator on the main floor where the lobby is located. I rented two rooms so my complaint is for both rooms I try to be optimistic and maybe if one was bad you say to yourself maybe its just the one but both were not bad they were horrible. Both rooms had filthy carpets and stained sheets.. Just disgusting ! Both rooms had fixtures hanging down with wires exposed. Both rooms had mold on the ceilings and in the bathrooms. Both rooms had broken furniture and the beds were so old you could feel the springs. We called the front desk from our cell phones because the phones in the rooms did not work. No one answered so we went down to speak to the front desk but no one was there. Finally after several more calls the front desk said they would notify the manager who never appeared. We could not find another hotel so we stayed but we got out early the next morning and we were told an email address for the manager would be waiting for us when we left but nothing was available and no manager could be located. I called The Wyndham who owns The La Quinta Hotel and told them everything and they opened a ticket for me and said I would get a call back or email. I received nothing! When I called them back they said the manager of the hotel emailed an apology ? I received nothing from anyone and they refused to refund me or at least give me a partial refund.. I will never stay at a La Quinta or Wyndham Hotel again....

Yelp
It was average, didnt expect much. The room was clean for the most part, the Jacuzzi was missing a knob so I couldn't actually have the Jacuzzi effect but it was still enjoyable. The walls are thin so you can here people talking next door. Towels were clean, bed was comfortable, the tv worked just fine. NO BED BUGS! Thank God. The room was pretty cold Breakfast was ok, the sausage was cold, tasteless egg discs, Sunny D for orange juice but it was an ok free breakfast to hold you over. The room smelled like cigarettes and its because of what I found behind the night stand. Vegans beware, "Non-Dairy" Creamer contains Milk. Overall, Id stay again cause it's cheap.

Yelp
Quite literally the only thing this hotel has going for it is its location. I've never seen nor been in a hotel this dirty. I'm sure the majority of motels you'd visit would put the cleanliness here to shame. From mold in the bathrooms, stains scattered about, and hair - hair everywhere. Why is there so much hair on everything? The hallways also smell like sweaty asshole. Literally. Luckily this didn't carry into the room. The furniture is also old and battered - in dire need of an update. Same can be said for the flooring and decor, but aesthetic is the least of this establishment's problems. The A/C unit was horrendously moldy - god knows what I was inhaling during my stay. I advise you wear some sort of respirator if not sweating it out. The mini-fridge had a blood-like stain in it, it was likely wine or something however with this place nothing is off the table. As the only entertainment in this hellhole is a dusty 40 inch TV, I advise you bring a UV blacklight and just shine it around, taking in the sights. It'd be quite the light show. Again, only positive is how close it is to the 7 train (40th Street - Lowery Station) and the McDonald's across the street. I can't attest to the staff being rude as the experiences I had with them were very brief, but cleanliness is the foremost issue here. I don't know how any health inspector in good conscience could allow this place to remain open in its current state. If you do decide you hate yourself or your loved ones enough to stay here, for the love of god, do not book off of the La Quinta site. Their rates are $239/night. If you have over $200 to burn, go walk to the back of the hotel at 3 AM and give it to the derelicts in the dimly lit parking lot. Go with Booking.com or one of these other places and pay under $100 like I did.

Yelp
It's pretty gross. Sheets are stained. Towels are stained. Walls are stained. Carpets are stained. Furniture is falling apart. Hair dryer doesn't work. Limited toiletries. No breakfast. No elevator to the lobby. But at least it's near the 7.

Gina T.

Yelp
I only chose one because I had to in order to post my review. The entire property is a suspool!! Our room was covered in layers of dust, it hadn't been vacuumed in I don't know how long, the a/c unit did not work it stayed on the whole time we were there, the bathroom ceiling was covered with black mold as was the bathtub. There is zero customer service and to make matters worse no one ever answers the main phone number to make matters worse they charged us twice for our stay. Come to find out from another guest he too was charged twice. We found out after the fact this hotel is a shelter for homeless families along with other hotels in Queens and they are paid $3100.00 per family per month. This explains the poor conditions of the hotel and why customer service isn't a priority. DO NOT STAY HERE, I repeat DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely the worst hotel ever. I booked it a couple of weeks before my visit and specifically asked if it was handicap accessible meaning was there an elevator to go to every floor. They said that of course they had an elevator but they never mentioned that you had to use a special handicap elevator to get from the lobby to the first floor where the regular elevators were at. This little elevator for handicap people was a nightmare and it got stuck several times while I was trying to use it. Bottom line if you're disabled do not stay at this shit hole of the hotel. It's a basic box that's it nothing more nothing else bathroom wasn't even fully clean the linen was OK however the bed was weak. I really just don't like this place and I suggest that if you had to stay here only if it was an emergency and that you had two able-bodied legs to carry you up the stairs. If however your handicap disabled need a cane, wheelchair, walker etc. do not stay here. This place is one star that is all it is short of a crackhouse.

Selena C.

Yelp
Disgusting, vile, I lack words to express my disgust. Look at the pictures and see for yourself. Foul mold smell as soon as you walk in. Complained to front desk and they just said that they would switch our room in the morning because they didn't have any other rooms available. I asked for them to AT LEAST give us clean linens and they said there was no housekeeping available... Nose and throat is bothering me as I type. Do. Not. Come. Here.
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Booked a room for 3 people but only one bed and an old, broken-down Whirlpool tub not fit for a dog. No rollaway available. Parking full so we had to park on the street. Front desk staff was rude and uninterested in our concerns.

Steven E.

Yelp
Unfortunately upon arrival, I found marijuana on the floor, fresh stains on the carpet, and spotted towels. I immediately let the front desk know. They said there was nothing they could do to assist me. Specifically, I was told "cleaning staff has left for the night and there are no other rooms". I left the hotel without staying for the full dates I paid for. Staying in a room that *clearly* hasn't been cleaned is unacceptable. And on top of that, drug residue?? Especially in the era of COVID! This is proof that this hotel is NOT following CDC standards and are NOT cleaning rooms in between guests! There is an ongoing global health pandemic and this behavior is wildly unacceptable. I have tried every method to receive a refund. From contacting the hotel directly, to contacting customer care, to contacting booking.com. After months of back and forth, do you know that Kaushik, the general manager, told customer care that he *did* refund me and to close the case?? So, I called my bank to verify. My bank said "there was no refund ever processed." Kaushik lied. And what is even more confusing: he rudely emailed me, never once apologizing, and said he will not be issuing me a refund. So which is it? Don't tell me you're not refunding me ... and then tell customer care you are. I had to figure out a last minute stay elsewhere, since I absolutely refused to stay in that dirty hotel for the rest of my trip. I paid for services that were not rendered. How can you plausibly deny a refund under these circumstances? **to be clear, the issue is not with Wyndham overall, they offered me points to be a rewards member (which I won't be using). Booking.com has also been very apologetic. The issue is directly with the LaQuinta Queens hotel property & management.

Yelp
We came here to see New York but being from the the PNW we really don't have a damn clue what's over there so yes, Queens probably wasn't the best choice to judge all of New York on but OMG DO YOU PEOPLE JUST SHIT IN YOUR STREETS!?! Wtff dude! It's so gross here. Graffiti EVERYWHERE! Trash EVERYWHERE!!! Can you not learn to drive! I'm so annoyed and we haven't even made it to the hotel yet. We got this hotel because it had free parking which it did, but getting out of the parking spot was near impossible with traffic that refuses to stop. We literally had to have a stranger stand in traffic to help get us out. It was a tad embarrassing and yes it's also because I'm not at all experienced driving in hell. So we check in, no elevator from main entry to room, except between floors which literally makes zero sense but it's an old building, so I guess I was just thankful there was at least one to the ice machine, until I saw that my bucket was filthy and no plastic cover (picture doesn't do it justice) gross dude. You do know people put ice in their mouths right? The room is WAY SMALLER than the pictures on Expedia. The comforter isn't on the bed it's rolled up in the closet because it's old, musty, and pretty sure is now what you refer to it as a Cumforter. This wasn't the most expensive or cheapest hotel available so I thought it would at least come with clean towels and walls. I'm pretty sure there was blood, piss and shit on these walls... the toilet didn't even have the cleaning chemicals wiped up. The towels look like they were peed on but the housekeeper didn't notice and thought it wasn't used so they left it. I went to take a bath because I'd been traveling all day and was planning to come home with an infection in my vagina I guess, but I was going to brave it anyway... until the fucking toxic green water filled the tub. (Pictures included) Maybe I'm spoiled in WA with clean water but my god it looked scary, not sure if that was less scary than what the shower looked like... looks like the Blackfoot Natives had a tribal ritual dance it was filthy!! I get it, the place is old AF, and New York is expensive but a little cleanse goes a long way!! Or cleaning at all for that matter!! I'm sure you can imagine what breakfast was like. We checked it out but it looked gross, smells like food tho. So there's that. The bagels were hard, we assume they just keep putting out same old shit that doesn't get eaten. One bun had a bite taken out and put back in the bin. Really? The hot part is sausages and fake egg patty's otherwise it's only cereal and old donuts, muffins and bagels. Which actually works if it's fresh. Otherwise I just imagine booger fingers touching shit and putting it back for days. Bed was creeky but enough comfort to stay asleep a couple hours. You can definitely hear people in the halls and cars driving by. When I said something to front desk when checking out they just said "sorry" but didn't offer any kind of credit for our $100 hole in the wall. Everyone was nice tho, otherwise I would have only given them one star because there has to be better in New York City even if it is Queens.

Yelp
bed bugs!!!!!!!! do not stay here.. 2 other couples checked out at the same time because they found bed bugs as well. will never come back!! horrible!

Yelp
Awful hotel. I and my friends made reservations for four days and the hotel could NOT provide keys that worked, the rooms were dirty, the refrigerator didn't work, the plumbing was suspect and there was no security for bags left in storage. Complaints fell on deft ears. Ruined my vacation. Somehow the reviews on their web site say the hotel is 4 star!?!

Yelp
This place is awful. Do not stay in this place. The carpet was very dusty. When you can see dust in a carpet you know you are in a dumpster. There was pubic hair in the bath top. They did not clean the room at all. The sheets were all wrinkled like they didn't change the bed's sheets. The staff was very rude and unprofessional, they seem to have poor hygiene. Disgusting. I went for business, the hotel reservation was done by a co-worker. He probably hate us all.

Yelp
This place is definitely a 1 star place. We had to stay here for 1 night. It was the closest place to go to and if you read the reviews it's a toss up. Let me help you. Let's start off with the good. They're close to everything - right across from the 7 train, McDonalds is next door and so is Pete's Grill - one of the few diners left from that era here in Sunnyside/Woodside. They have Direct TV and big enough TVs for you to watch TV. Now the bad - the shower and sink had yellow water. We had to leave it running so that it would turn clear. The bed was gross and did feel like you were sleeping on a box. We saw a family come in and leave. If they put in the effort to keep the place clean and update the rooms they could be a great place. For all that - Do yourself a favor and stay at the Queens Hotel.

Yelp
I finally get to the room, and someone had cut the lamp wire so that there was no light in the room except for one by the door and the bathroom. In addition, the sheets, pillows, and towels were all stained, and there was a hole in the bedsheet. I get that it's not a 5 star hotel so I should have lower expectations, and generally, a room condition like this would have been fine with me as I've stayed at some pretty dingy places. But I am not ok with the hotel trying to scam $645 out of me.

Yelp
Avoid at all costs. Poorly run, the management is unbelievably terrible. We were given the keys three separate times to two rooms already occupied and then a third room that was still not cleaned yet. Did not allow early check in or storage of luggage, which is understandable... but rooms are not as advertised. Stained towels, cleanliness questionable, no microwave or fridge, not worth the savings. This is the worst lodging experience I've ever had in my life. Go somewhere else my friends, you've been warned!

Yelp
I was in town for the Classic concert at Citi Field, and decided to stay at this La Quinta for its proximity to both the venue and the 7 train. At $120 a night, it was a decently-priced option compared to other places. And it turns out, I was one of several concert attendees staying here. My room was on the first floor, which was actually down half a flight of stairs from the lobby. That meant I didn't really have much of a window, and the AC was above my head (I had to stand on a chair in the room to reach the controls). Nevertheless, I actually was fairly happy with my room, because it was very quiet - I never heard any other guests at any point during my two night stay here. This place has wi-fi, but it doesn't work all that well. It is very slow, and it was frustrating since I had such terrible cell reception in my room (I'm guessing that was because I was in a quasi-basement room). The king-size bed was decently comfortable, and the water pressure was good as well. Two of the lamps in the room were questionable and appeared to be somewhat broken. Oh, they still worked, but the bulbs were askew, leaning to the side, and made me feel like I had to be quite careful when turning them on and off. You can walk to either the 33rd street or 40th street train stations (La Quinta is at the corner of 37th and Queens Blvd), so you're right in-between the two. But be warned: on the weekends, the 7 train runs express heading toward Citi Field, meaning you have to take the train going toward Manhattan, get off at the Queens Plaza station, then catch the train going back east since the express train skips both 33rd and 40th. It was annoying. Obviously that's not the fault of La Quinta, but just a heads up nonetheless. Since my flight wasn't leaving from LaGuardia until about 8 pm, I had a full day to explore the city. The staff let me leave my suitcase behind the desk with them so I didn't have to schlep it around all day, which was much appreciated. They do warn you that they are not responsible if anything is stolen, but someone is always behind the desk, so I wasn't too worried. All in all, a decent stay with helpful staff. I'd stay here again, since it was a bargain compared to other places I'd seen. And really, I was just here to sleep anyway :)

Yelp
This place is gross, the rooms are not clean at all & the tick/bed bug was found in the bed that our young girls were sleeping on. The towels were stained, beds ripped. We had three rooms total & in the other room both beds were not made, it seemed like they did not clean the room before we got it. In one of the rooms the tub and bathroom sink was stained with what looked like mold, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Yelp
Let this be a warning. This location is really disappointing. I had a confirmed reservation that stated check.in starts at 3 pm, I arrived 3:20 pm to be informed my reservation was canceled!!! Since I was here I asked for options and the only option was a room with a Jacuzzi for $250.00, to my regret I took it, well just when you think can't get any worse. The room smelled cigarette, lower level with not enough light (one of the lamps wasn't working). I am attaching pictures for the jacuzzi, you can be the judge, I honestly don't think is safe. Since I was not given the proper respect of a customer with a confirmed reservation, I will be reaching out the BBB and reporting what happened. It is just not right and I will do my best to prevent the same to happen to other folks.

Yelp
This hotel was horrible! I'm an above knee amputee and stairs are difficult for me, so we specifically chose this hotel because it had an elevator. We were not told that the elevator would be out of order for the duration of the trip or that our "accessible room" was in the basement. I use quotes because I was unable to use my wheelchair in the room, because it was too narrow with an oversized dresser and bed taking up all the space. We also requested fresh towels and a room refresh every morning before leaving for the day, only to come back to an untouched room. Our trash piled up until we sat it outside the room, still no one collected it. We also had to repeatedly request towels, which never arrived. All in all I would give zero stars if possible. It may be a cheaper option, but that doesn't mean you should have to put up with what we did.

Yelp
This hotel is not worthy of customers to stay in. It's dingy and smells like the inside of a dumpster after it's rained. Sure, It's nyc, but pick another place to feel a little bit better in. Do more research. Sad to say we lacked on that part and so regret ensues. The price is not competitive. It's highway robbery for what you will receive in service. Services that will "clean" your room will indeed clean out your private space. Housekeeping, shame on you. Sarcasm because stealing is upsetting. Sure it's not The Plaza, but at least one would want to feel like they are safe and their things are secure. No safe box in the rooms- sounds like a fix to me. Also, it is still far from the City in terms of location- so many train transfers- especially on the weekends. Save up and take your money somewhere else!

Yelp
They don't care about the cleaning, the room were we stayed smelled really bad, since there was no other room available,we choose to leave the windows open and buy some glade to treat the bad smell while we were there. No breakfast included, opposite to what it's written when you are booking. And to top it off we didn't realize there was a fridge until our last night, sadly with rotten food from other customers.

Yelp
Just booked through hotwire. I'm not using hotwire anymore for giving me this pos hotel

Yelp
The worst hotel I've ever been too. Straight out of a horror film. Used cigarettes on the headboard of the bed, a shaking elevator. Scary parking lot at night barely any lighting. Just a complete nightmare. Stay away

Yelp
Ok I understand we are all still affected by COVID-19 but that should give more reason to be clean and accommodating to your guests. Not the case at this run down place. The most filthiest place I have ever stayed at. I usually don't even do hotel reviews because I know there are many factors to consider, however this was just too much of a hassle to even get proper service here. Upon checking in the front desk staff was very unpleasant. I asked him simple questions to which he responded with, what seemed like an attitude. I asked if the room was able to be changed as there are only two of us to which he replied, it's whatever you booked online that's it. He never offered more than one key, when we got into the room there were no wash cloths, the bathtub was filthy, the tv volume didn't work, the fridge didn't work and the phone was extremely filthy, not to mention the piles of hair we found in between the sheets. Thank goodness for the Clorox wipes and lysol I was carrying with me or we would have run out of there immediately and risked just sleeping in the car for the night. We only came to stay here because there is still no power in our house due to the recent storm that shook the whole NYC area. What a waste of money and time to drive here. Next time we'll pay the extra money to get a nicer hotel.

Yelp
The rooms smelled like cigarettes and to my surprise I found an actual cigarette butt on top of one of the headboards in one of the rooms that I rented. I showed the picture to the front desk and all he did was shake his head. I also told one of the cleaning ladies who barged in on the room on me and my family without even knocking on the door that one of our rooms smell like cigarettes and all she did was spray the room with some air freshener and open the window. Stains on the chairs. Holes in the sheets. Despicable! I would definitely, absolutely NOT recommend this place to anyone. It is very sad and unfortunate that during these times when money is tight and someone needs a hotel room and expect to get a decent room with decent accommodations just to be placed in a seedy hotel room. Based on the other reviews I wish I would have read them first before making 2 reservations with your establishment. Stay far away from this hotel!

Yelp
Do not stay here. First room we went to was 315 and there was a big stain on the bed. The rug was stained with what looked like ink from 15 pens. Big stain. Then we went to room 111. Hair in bed, sticky night stand, broken lamp switch, non working outlet, overly loud ac unit. We ended up leaving and going to a different hotel. Now here's hoping to them actually refunding my money.

Yelp
We booked our room last minute and was looking for a cheaper option. Online this place looks great but in person.... not so much. I had a hard time believing this was the hotel we booked online. Anyways...the rooms are really outdated. All of the furniture in our room seemed to be falling apart. When turning on the lamp the switch is just lose hanging. I don't know that it's safe. My biggest complaint was the cleanliness of the room. I always bring sanitizing wipes with me to hotels to wipe down surfaces that I think might get missed occasionally (like the doorknobs and the tv remote.) After wiping the remote my wipe had black stuff all over it. AHHH GROSS. it's the worst I have ever experienced. The only pro to this hotel was the location to a convenient subway. It was easy to get on and off and get to hotel. Can't say I would recommend this place though.

Yelp
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. and NO I'm a college graduate that is paying off loans that wanted to visit her BFF in new york with 3 other people. Therefore, I looked at the best hotel I could find in the Queens area. La Quinta came up. I saw warning for bed bugs and such and I thought "What was the likely hood that I would get that kind of room out of the entire hotel" T_T So we arrive around 10PM on a Friday night, and the small little parking area in the back was full. Dude at the front desk said "Just park in front of the car by the wall. Just leave enough room for that person to leave." I'm from the DMV. We don't do that. I guess they do that in New York. The gentleman at the front desk was speedy and kind. Gave me my extra towels there and helped me work the shower when I called down. No trouble there. Once you enter the room, it looked decent and comfy. Had a small stench but I got over it. Two queens. Seemed clean. First night there, no problem. The shower was weird. Had to call the front desk to figure out how to make it rain (shower). Went to bed. No biggie. Got up the next morning and to venture through New York City. Came back. Showered and this time I took my time. I looked around. THERE WAS MOLD ON THE CEILING. T_T really. I shrugged it off. Went to the change and notice the chair had stains on it. NASTY STAINS. nope. not putting anything on that chair. got dressed and went to bed. NEXT MORNING, my boyfriend woke up with crazy bite all over his upper torso. He was the only individual that went to bed without a shirt one. Everyone else was fully clothed. We had no bites. He, however, had bites everywhere on his back, neck and even right under his left eye. THESE BED BUGS DON'T PLAY. One ear was bit and the other one wasn't. Bits down his back. HUGE BITES. They were hungry. They were going in for the kill. Conclusion: It provided a cheap sleep. Not a place to lounge around but I guess you can stay there if you just need a place to sleep and play in the city all day. GO TO BED FULLY CLOTHED, i guess. I will not be returning. Oh BTW, the wifi sucks.

Yelp
Pros: **Much cheaper than Manhattan hotels **Excellent location; a quick shot into the city via the #7 train or the Q32 bus across the street ** Limited parking ... but it's free ** Free Breakfast; great hot chocolate ** Free Wifi (which worked well for us) ** Reliable maid service ** Good water pressure ** Interesting guests from all over the world Cons: ** Small and shabby room ** Spots of mold or mildew on the bathroom ceiling, with a car deodorizer hanging from the door. (Sounds like an oxymoron, but despite this, the rooms appeared clean.) ** Boring breakfasts: what tastes like day-old bakery goods from a possibly affiliated Duncan Donuts. (I heated up my dinner leftovers, for breakfast every morning.) ** Hard mattress ** Few amenities You have to decide if the pros outweigh the cons. This ain't the Ritz. When we checked in, I asked the front desk about bedbugs. The clerk was honest: "I really don't think you'll find any, but this is NY and it happens everywhere." And he's right. Check bedbugregistry.com. (BTW, We didn't have any.) Regarding friendliness -- the staff works exceedingly long hours and some speak minimal English. Any time we've asked for something, we've gotten it. Will I stay here again? Sure.

Yelp
First of all, Great location and unbelievable low price for a inn near Manhattan. I gave two stars for that. Don't walk in and just book beforehand and you will probably get some great deals (like $70 per night) The room itself is filthy. Dirty (possibly bloody) pillow cases and dirty table. See pics. Not sure how often they change it or even they do change it. I need to use my own towel to over it and sleep with my clothes on. Didn't experience bed bugs etcs. Overall the price was awesome and it basically gave me what I need for two nights in New York. Not sure if I will come back again but I keep that as an option.

Yelp
This place is a major disappointment (Queens location). We paid nearly $400 for two nights here. Upon arriving to our room, our door doesn't close all the way. It's as if it had been locked in? The staff said this is normal..... which is not accurate as we travel frequently. The door jam is missing a major piece that secures the lock. Next up, our shower doesn't work! The handle literally had a piece brake off when I turned it and it just spins in circles. Someone is supposed to come look at it and I am still waiting for them to come. The TV isn't working, which I have video of..:. Been like this for hours. While tidying up our bed, I saw a huge stain on the mattress - took a photo. I am absolutely upset about this. We travel frequently and have never had this many issues. I have all the documentation to share - see photos and video!

Yelp
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER (CANCELLED AND INSULTED)!! I came to city as First Responder to volunteer for the Marathon. I had made my reservation two months prior and secured with my credit card. When I arrived I was told by counter clerk my reservation was cancelled. My credit card was rejected. Apparently, they try to run the card before I got there! I wasn't even there and they were working on charging me! The reason for the rejection was that my card was compromised and a new card was issued between the reservation and the day I arrived. While he was telling me this my reservation was cancelled, he was holding my ID and my VALID CREDIT CARD!!! He said an e-mail was sent, but I did not receive said e-mail. He said nothing else; that was his lame excuse. There were no other rooms available and he couldn't help me. I ended up going to a competitor hotel. At the competitor hotel, I checked my e-mails and sure enough, the referenced e-mail was sent WHILE I was traveling to the City! I don't read e-mails while driving, so how am I supposed to respond to this late e-mail? The wording within the e-mail: "Your reservations have been cancelled per your request". How could those reservations been cancelled per my request when I was not even involved in the decision???? Their dodging the issue through this letter, I find the phrase highly insulting. I'm pretty sure the room I had reserved was sold at a much higher rate; more profit for them, one burned customer on the outside.

Yelp
Worst hotel I have ever stayed. The whole room was disgusting and it felt like nobody really clean it and stains on bedsheets. THIS PLACE IS NOT COVID FRIENDLY !!!!! I had to run away after one night. And they refused me to give me partial refund. Also the general manager is barely at the hotel and front desk is not helpful. If I could, I would give this hotel 0/5 and wouldn't stay here even for FREE.

Kourtney S.

Yelp
The only hotel I've been to that starts construction at 9am and where the front desk attendant goes MIA. Google says that there is no fee for cancellations up to six hours before the reservation check in. That was a lie. They also said nothing about the breakfast being cancelled and gave us a hard time when we mentioned this when trying to cancel our reservation. They said "yeah we changed things, but you still have to pay for one night" for cancelling 8 hours prior when walking into all of this. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Yelp
Take your money elsewhere. This hotel is trash. My husband & I stayed at this shithole hotel for 3 nights. They advertise parking but they only have room for 5 cars to block eachother in an alley. We had to pay for parking across the street. Everyday we had to replace our key because they didn't stay magnetized more than a day. Our bathroom door was broken & we were locked in or locked out multiple times. the front desk took a very long time to address it & didn't even fix it. All they did was put duct tape on the door. There's a hot tub in the room that doesn't even work. There was barely any toilet paper in our bathroom when we checked into the hotel & we had to walk down to the lobby to get some. For 2 nights straight, a lady was yelling in the lobby for 2 hours each at like 4am waking us up. Absolute shit.

Joy R.

Yelp
This place is filthy. It had bed bug and cockroaches. My room had a weird smell to it, and when I asked to move rooms, they told me they couldn't do that. It's cheap, but not a fun place. There was even some guy with a needle in his arm outside, like really?! There's kids here!!! I will never ever come back.

Yelp
It sucks kind of creepy my fridges was broken and so did the ice machine I ask for it they told me to go to another floor and get ice nevermind I can't barely walk since I had a stroke you need to go to second floor to transfer to elevator I have to use stairs to get to lobby very poor design of hotel staff doesnt to like to work there not too friendly the decor is terrible once you go innlooby you realize what a mistake you made for booking the wifi keeps failing the tv is not regular channels I keep waiting for the twins of the shinnning to appear on those creepy hallways

John S.

Yelp
Only hotel that had a low rate during the peak season and now I know why. First, they did not provide any wash cloths and second the room felt like a dungeon. It was poorly lit and the carpet was so dirty! Never again!

Yelp
BEDBUGS! We booked multiple rooms and there were bedbugs all over one of the rooms. When we told the staff they were not surprised or concerned. The staff is even more disappointing than the lack of cleanliness. Do not stay here.

Yelp
THE SHORT: Came here just to sleep, have a place to park overnight, and have breakfast in the morning. La Quinta delivered on 1.5/3. Didn't sleep (read below), but parking was fine and breakfast was so-so. Pros: - Nice staff - Decent water pressure in bathroom - Free breakfast is what you'd expect. Cereal, bagels, some pastries. Some sausage and eggs were there but they didn't look very appetizing. Sunny D instead of orange juice - Parking comes with room (if there are spots available) - TV is nice with good signal - Rooms are pretty soundproof - AC Unit works well - Room was clean Cons: - Curtains were useless. They look somewhat see through and blocked NO light. City is super bright at night and it kept waking us up every hour. - Room smelled like cigarettes halfway through the night - Minifridge does not work. It only cools to like 50 degrees and our frozens were ruined by morning - Parking lot is small, you may not be guaranteed a spot - Rooms are a bit expensive for what you get OVERALL: Not the worst hotel out there, but I wouldn't stay here again given the choice.
