This hotel was a good place to stay at for the location and the price. However, it was very very outdated and needs to be updated. But for the location it was in our price range and within walking distance to everything downtown. The room was very basic but clean. The bathtub felt like you were standing on a water bed, the bottom of it was squishy and not solid, but the water pressure was outstanding. The ceilings need to be cleaned or repainted they look like they have a layer of dirt on them. The breakfast was basic but good. They do have really cool Texas shaped waffles but other than that it’s just the basics like cereal, oatmeal toast, muffins. The pool was super clean and a nice addition to the hotel. We did opt for a room on the first floor because the staircases looked like they were rusted out. In fact, one of them was closed down because it was not safe to use. As mentioned earlier needs a major update, but for the price and the location we would definitely stay here again. The staff and employees were very friendly.

I had a great stay at the Quinta! The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the pool was also super clean. Room service was excellent—they cleaned the room daily, which was a nice touch. Every morning they have breakfast and it is a good amount of different things. The location is super convenient, with the Market just across the street and everything else, like the River Walk and the mall, only about a 5-minute drive away. Even with some construction in the area, everything felt organized and easy to navigate. I would definitely stay here again!

Google
The service was top notch! Rooms weren’t super fancy but I wasn’t expecting fancy-just a place that would allow my dog and give me a place to rest my head. Clean room and good water pressure. Front desk people were so helpful and accommodating. Let us park our car early and also let us leave it a while after check out. Came back after checking out to use the vending machine to get some water for my dog, lady up front got us a bowl and some nice cold water-it is hot here! If nothing else, the way they treated my dog is enough for me to come back here. Highly recommend if you have any pets traveling with you! Many thanks and much praise to the customer service here!

Google
First room was absolutely horrible. We always check the beds before we stay in a room. Pull back the sheets and mattress cover to discover what seemed to be dried old blood and a lot of it on the mattress room 166. The mildew smell and dampness in that room was horrible as well. The front desk lady was very nice about the situation and gave us another room to check before moving in. Room 156 was better but still had a stained mattress. Yes I am picky about where I lay my head at night. I don’t want bring anything home with us (bugs). Room 156 was ok enough to get a nights rest to drive home. But probably won’t be back!! Picture of the mattress in room 166! Check the beds before you lay anywhere!!!

Google
Great place to stay for the price. We stayed 5 nights and no issues what so ever. Our room was clean, services were great and the Cleaning of our room every day was perfect. The free parking is a huge plus for the area. Felt safe and comfort every single night of our stay, no issues. The pool area was a great clean place to relax while the kids cooled off for the day Location is great, 15 minute walk to the river walk and then the market square across the street. Mi Tierra restaurant directly across was perfect after long days of river walk, sea world and six flags. Rooms are small, but still adequate enough for my 2 kids, wife and myself. Will definitely be booking this place again on our next trip.

Google
Okay location but hotel is in such terrible condition that La Quinta is ruining their brand image with this mess of a hotel. The landscaping is mostly dead, the stairs to the second floor are blocked off because they are ready to fall down. Our room had a worn out carpet at its entrance with a rat poison box next to the entrance. Each room had a worn out mat at the front door. It is right across from Mi Terra which is a very cool Mexican restaurant....and market square. The streets around the hotel are all torn up and the area has quite a few homeless. Don't be fooled by the photos posted at the Wyndham/La Quinta hotel website. They were taken long ago when the place looked good. It's a wreck now.

Google
Walked into the room and immediately questioned my life choices. The air conditioner sounded like it was trying to take off, and the remote control only worked if I stood on one leg and whispered sweet nothings into the void. Found a sock behind the curtain that didn’t belong to me… or anyone from this decade. The staff were nice though, one guy even gave me a knowing nod like, “Yeah… you picked La Quinta.” Shower pressure? Let’s just say I’ve cried harder. Location’s decent though. Right near everything you don't really need but will still walk to because you’re bored and your kids broke the TV remote. Would I stay again? Only if the apocalypse hit and it was either this or sharing a tent with a family of raccoons. And even then, I’d need to meet the raccoons first.

Google
I love staying at this Market Square location LA Quinta Inn. I always receive a really great free breakfast included with the price of my room. I'm able to relax here. Please clean up this property better and replace the already torn moving chair in my room. The double rooms are cheaper than the single rooms. Very friendly staff. Next time I will likely bother swimming in the pool at this property. I checked into here needing to heal from being sick (on the extremely rare occasions that I am).... I can't wait to be able to stay here again... perhaps with my daughter Alicia next time?? Thanks LA QUINTA INN Market Square location in San Antonio TX.... Y'all made it to where I could rest.

Yelp
1. I felt safe and liked the location. 2. There were good breakfast options, but it was an uncontrolled mob scene with inadequate seating, which really diminished the amenity. I recommend that this be addressed somehow. 3. Staff was pleasant. 4. I can only imagine how many years of skin cells, spills, etc. are trapped in the carpet. I recommend that this be addressed somehow. I was surprised to find that the pool was in good condition.

Yelp
Good- across the street from market square Walking distance to alamo and riverwalk Good value it was cheap Pretty big room Free parking Bad Rooms smell like awful mold and feet smell Old an worn down A ton of construction going on around hotel Breakfast is a train wreck- only 2 hours and no where to sit, everyone crammed in the lobby

Keila O.

Yelp
Older motel, front desk clerk was very polite and accommodating. The beds were comfortable. I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay within a certain budget.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stayed here recently and it wasn't all that great. We had reserved a Deluxe King Suite room and the second we walked in, it immediately smelled like weed. We also noted a baggy tied around the smoke alarm, basically confirming our suspicions. This just proves to me that housekeeping does not know how to clean anything. Also, don't expect a pleasant morning awakening. We stayed for 2 nights and both mornings were awakened with the sound of construction vehicles right outside our room that start at 7 in the morning. Also a small nitpick, their vending machine in the main lobby for drinks, will not take $5 nor will it take change. It will deny the 5 and take your change with no way to get it back. Overall, I do not recommend this place while construction is going on outside or expect the best quality room.

Yelp
I have stayed at all kinds of hotels and motels, not all are created equal. That being said y'all please don't put so much weight into the negative reviews. Our check in was great the hot water never ended, the room was clean with enough towels and bars of dove. I had to have a handicap room and it was wonderful! Shoutout to the manager Liza and her amazing staff. 10 out of 10
google avatar

Amber D.

Yelp
Roaches in the room. And not outside roaches that got in, I mean permanent resident German roaches. Smelly rooms. Ghetto. Also the property did not refund my stay.

Cori S.

Yelp
Liza at the San Antonio Market Square location is AMAZING! When my kids were stranded by Turo, she stepped up her hospitality/humanity game. Thank you La Quinta for your smart hiring practices as well as your clean and comfy rooms!

Brandy Y.

Yelp
Please don't not ever stay at this hotel especially if you are handicapped in any way. The manager ,Tiffany Berry, had our truck towed. It was parked in the specified handicapped spot and his handicapped placard was very visible. When we went in to see where it was she told us she had it towed then laughed when we told her he had two broke legs. I would be beyond embarrassed to work for this lady or be associated with this company.
google avatar

Lubos B.

Yelp
Acceptable accommodation, the unacceptable behavior of the hotel manager. The worst I ever met in 55 countries we travelled. She must be horribly jinxed and hurt when she treats guests like this. Not only to me and my disabled wife when she rudely kicked us out of the lobby for wanting to mop the floor, but we witnessed her similar behavior to other guests as well. Such a person cannot hold a leadership position. The fact that we do not ask the management of the company to fire her out is only because we are Christians and wish only good for our neighbors.

Yelp
I came here for one night. To see Rammstein. Yes. It's a old hotel! But it serves its purpose. Was clean. The super amazing helpful front desk guys were great! Super friendly... I'd stay here for one night again. Conveniently located across from Market Square.

Yelp
This place sits right across the famous San Antonio landmark Market Square. And I must admit it lived up to its reputation, being across the famous Mi Tierra and Mariachi Bar is a treat in itself. All you got to do is walk across the street and you are there. All in all this place provided a clean, comfortable, cool stay. The room was comfortable and it did exactly what it is intended to do and that is provide a satisfying stay. I will not hesitate in staying here again and I love the location considering what is all around.

Yelp
Bathroom has mold and bathtub looks really bad and it's just not a place to go needs updates
google avatar

S.r. S.

Yelp
Bed bugs and bathroom smelled like sewage. Bums near the hotel and several drunks banging on doors. Breakfast was reheated, tasted awful. No security or manager available when issues began and throughout stay. Stay away from this place if at all possible.
google avatar

Magdalene M.

Yelp
I got multiple bug bites from this damn hotel room. DO NOT stay here. We stayed here because of the free pet policy but HOLY HELL. Didn't think I was gnna wake up to this. & that's not even including the bites on my husband or upper body. Also, the pool was closed which we weren't warned about. Cheap but not worth it!
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
This hotel needs to be inspected I was shocked how filthy my room was and I had had to sleep in it all night! I told the front desk but they said maintenance was gone. I was offered to move rooms but I figured it would be the same situation. (I now have roaches from this place in my home they must have hid in my clothes.) When I told the manager in the morning she said that room was not supposed to be in use because it was treated and now I'm thinking I slept in a room with poisonous chemicals all night. Very disgusting and disappointing.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
The room we got was clean and in pretty good shape, the only missing was a night stand on the right side of the comfy king size bed, and the bathroom door couldn't be locked. We spent a lot less here and had more money to spend on food and sights, the bathroom was a good size and everything worked, some too well, the toilet flushed pretty vigorously ...we didn't use the complimentary breakfast since Mi Tierra had cheap and tasty tacos right across the street. They have coffee in the lobby, good but kind of weak. Would we stay here again? Most definitely

Yelp
This place deserves negative stars !!!! The hotel is dirty, run down and expensive for what it's worth. This is a cheap motel worth $20 a night!!! Yes it's directly across the historic market place which is a plus but this place it's not worth the price. Also the pool is closed ALL summer! They said they're working on it but the 2 days we were there we saw no one working on the pool! BS! Oh and breakfast is packaged sugar muffins and chewy bars. Avoid this place!!!!

Yelp
I'm diamond status with Best Western, but ever since we travel around in the RV with our pet Sharkie, a rescued Bull Terrier, we only stay at La Quinta for their pet-friendly policy. This La Quinta has great customer service. Kudos to the night guard Cynthia for her big heart, friendliness and customer service.
google avatar

Yelp
So far this place has been surprisingly great! The gardens are beautiful. Full of lantanas, marigolds, daisies and the largest hibiscus bushes I've seen outside of Florida. The staff was very friendly with giving us information about the area. We came down for a convention and all the hotels near the river walk were just so high in price. The site says close to market square they should say right across the street! It's awesome just cross the road and shops, restaurants and fun. I have enjoyed the market square much more than river walk. If you do want to go to river walk it's only about a 20 min walk. I would def recommend this place.
google avatar

Eddie D.

Yelp
If I could give this place ZERO STARS. We stayed here this past weekend. This property is terrible. It needs to be closed and totally renovated. The rooms are very old, smelled old and the restroom was moldy and just downright nasty. The staff were super. They do the best they can with the situation and property they have. Do not bring your family here. I am really sorry for this bad review but I have to be honest. Please renovate this property. It is in a great location.

Yelp
NO breakfast during covid (despite what was advertised). Nice wall paper blackout curtains, and clean. Not too loud. Outdoor corridor good for covid times. Contactless checkout. The area seems a little sketchy, but 15min walk to riverwalk and mexican market across the street. The paint in the bathroom was peeling. Bathroom was really small, water pressure for the shower was low, but there was hot water. Blankets were really thin and pillows very small.

Yelp
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH EXPEDIA, I swear you will be treated like a low class citizen if you book through a third party vendor. So much that they will put you in a smoking room even when you advice that your child is having respiratory issues, even if you booked for a non smoking room weeks ago. If you call ahead to confirm or ask questions they will direct you to the "third party service". Room smells like a brothel. When asked if maybe the following day you could be moved to a non smoking room, I was told to go to the reception very early in the morning to see if maybe they would have one. I'm like why? Why can you just put it in the system and do it? They act like technology is a privilege only given to those who booked directly through La Quinta website. So do disappointed...

Yelp
(Perfect Location) We've stayed a La Quintas before, but this one has become our new stay at spot when we come down to San Antonio. We had a very friendly staff receive us and our room was very clean. The doors smelled like they had just gotten painted the shower smelled like bleach and so did the towels. Overall looked clean. The breakfast it's whats to be expected when it's included at a average price hotel, and that was just perfect for us. We have little ones and they can be picky but they had fresh fruit cereal muffins hard boiled eggs Texas shape waffle yogurt oatmeal regular and raisins toast.. honestly that's quite a variety for the price we payed. You have to visit the square market specially on the weekends.
google avatar

Daniel J.

Yelp
My truck was broken in to, they have security guards and my truck was right in the front by the check in spot. I'd spend the money for a better place, even though it's a convenient location. Just not worth it, I'll never come back and a visit to San Antonio is a regular occurrence for us.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect walking distance to the Mercado. The room were clean and cool. The last time we stayed at this location was almost 14 years ago and it was great. Fast forward to 2017 and it still in pretty good shape. The rooms could use a little TLC. I'm not going to devalue the hotel because of its condition. To me it judge and that it has hosted thousands of families and individuals in its existence. I do hope they can inject new life to the hotel as it is a great place to stay. The continental breakfast was OK. I wasn't expecting much since a continental breakfast never includes much. Should I ever need to be in this side of San Antonio, I'm for sure going to be staying here once again.
google avatar

Yelp
Came to stay here for a little bit. It has a pool. The rooms are fairly roomy and have good lighting. My room, however, has a very claustrophobic bathroom and a little walk-in room (that is connected to the bathroom) which contains three mirrors in series. The style of the hotel isn't modern. I enjoy a more comfortable style close to what I call home which is this hotel's style. The walls are thin and you're able to here the people inside, or close to, the pool. The cleanliness of the hotel seems fairly clean but could be better. This is a 4/5 stars for me.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
This hotel was in a convenient location, within walking distance to many restaurants, and the downtown river walk. However, the room had a dingy feel to it. I'm not claiming the room was unclean, but there were some serious stains on the carpet and the tub in the bathroom was in need of a really good scrubbing. Also, the walls were thin enough where I assume the bathrooms connect with another, that you could here every time your neighbor used the toilet or shower. My wife, baby, two dogs and myself stayed here for two nights. There was plenty of room in our two double bed room. Although this hotel is pet friendly there are only a few patches of grass for my dogs to go potty. This is mainly because we were downtown. If you aren't traveling with your family and looking for a cheap place to stay I would recommend it, but it did not suit mine and my families needs. This hotel is in need of a remodel.
google avatar

William B.

Yelp
I generally enjoy La Quinta's, and this one has a great location near the Riverwalk for a fairly low price. I just saw one problem - a dead bed bug in the mattress. One dead bed bug may not mean an infestation. In fact, it might mean it was fumigated from a previous infestation. Every hotel has a chance to get bedbugs, but I'm not rating every hotel...I'm rating this one. Sorry, La Quinta Market Square. The parking is decent, the checkin easy, the facilities just fine...but one bed bug is all it takes to pull 4 stars down to one. (Room 107)
google avatar

Yelp
If you're reading this while seeing it's around $100/ night from some deal site, BOOK IT NOW. Nice room, nice pool (even though it's not heated), and a nice standard breakfast (texas waffles, hard boiled eggs, pastries, and juice/ coffee 24/7). Excellent location also. A bit of a walk from the Riverwalk, but if you walk in a group it's relatively safe. Being across the street from Market Square is also nice, with Mi Tierra also. Only thing missing was a fitness center.

Emily M.

Yelp
DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL STAFF STOLE OUR STUFF SAYING SOMEONE HAD BROKE IN!!! And another staff member had said they had took out our stuff but moved it to lost and found due to a confession.. but when they had our stuff the staff were taking out our belonging from there cars when they had told us they had it in the lost and found,.. but yet they said someone one broke in into our room and took it and they had called the cops but I called the cops and there wasn't any report into I made mine!!!! Pls don't go here all this people were in it together to keep our stuff!!! Worse place I ever been fucking ghetto!!!!
google avatar

Martin V.

Yelp
Location, location, location. A perfect place for a hotel, especially a clean and affordable one. Walking distance to Market Square for dining and shopping. Otherwise, Uber works great in San Antonio for other near by excursions. They also have a descent FREE breakfast. Will definitely stay here again. Bathroom was kinda small but workable. Its not the newest hotel there is but they keep it up very well. And La Quinta always has the comfiest beds for a good nights sleep.

Rodrigo P.

Yelp
This hotel is so old and nasty they don't deserve to charge 119.00 Toilet is not clean properly and what can I say! Shower is disgusting is so easy just to spray bathtub with epoxy so is white again, is all stain Just for location they dare to charge that money but this hotel is worst than a super 8
google avatar

Dyson F.

Yelp
The location is great but the apt smell like cigarette . The first night I asked to change my apt because had cockroach in every place but receptionist switch for another one a little better.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
This was our second stay here, with the first being in October of 2009. Our first stay was for four nights fir a wedding week celebration. We always stay at La Quintas due to the pet friendly policy and they were great then. The wedding was downtown, we had zero parking issues, and were walking distance to riverwalk. The only issue with stay number one was being woken up to an idiot in a cherry picker trimming a palm tree all over our rental. Not the hotels fault and the trimming company covered any problems. The second stay went very well. Ergo, this place is our consistent San Antonio billet. Super convenient location, nice hotel to run from, and pleasant staff

Dan D.

Yelp
This hotel has THE MOST uncomfortable pillows I've ever slept on, they are so flat I woke up with neck pains and couldn't go back to sleep, the man at the front desk seemed annoyed with me when I told him about them and said "We only have one kind of pillow and don't provide extras." What's worse is that this was on my birthday. Not a good way to spend my birthday. Do not a stay here. Stay ANYWHERE else!!!!!
google avatar

Ross D.

Yelp
Clean room, friendly staff, close to some cool tourist markets all at the right price! I will be back for sure!
google avatar

Teresa R.

Yelp
This was once a nice hotel in a great location but it has gone downhill . The rooms have chips in the walls and stains in the bathroom sinks and tubs . The pool has a caution tape across part of the shallow end. The bathroom is tiny. On the plus side, the beds and pillows are comfortable and there's plenty of hot water. The air conditioning works great. It needs to be closed and completely renovated.
google avatar

Shereece P.

Yelp
This place is old and outdated. The room is very small and cramped. It's hard to believe that there are hotels with no refrigerator and couch. Traveling with a baby and we have no place to store his food and milk. However, the lobby staff was very helpful and friendly. The location is good because it's a quick, easy walk down to the river walk. I will it e staying here in future visits to the city.

Rolando C.

Yelp
The pool, the people who work here and breakfast were great but the bug problem need to be fix, while I was there I found a cockroach, a spider and something that it looks like a bedbug
google avatar

Andrea E.

Yelp
If you are on a budget and are looking for something economic this hotel is perfect. We stayed here for 5 nights on a vacation, we wanted a pool, complementary breakfast and free internet and we received all three. The pool was very clean and relaxing. The breakfast was simple, good, and free, which saved us around $100. The room we stayed in had two beds and it was spacious. The rooms were clean with a flat screen TV. It is conveniently placed 5 minutes away from the river walk. The staff was very polite and you have free parking. You get what you pay for don't compare to any expensive hotel. I enjoyed my stay and saved a whole lot!
google avatar

Eduardo G.

Yelp
We stayed here for the Cinco de Mayo weekend. Our stay was great. Front desk staff were great and informative. They gave us great advice about the city and transportation options. The location was right across the street from the Market Square, and 5-10 minute metro ride to the Alamo Center. We'll definitely stay here again.
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
I loved this place. Perfect spot. Not right in the middle of everything but I was able to walk through Market Square to the Riverwalk the Alamo and everything in between. Awesome free breakfast. Good rates.
google avatar

Leno L.

Yelp
I would first start with saying I'd give this establishment "0" Stars if I could but I can't. This Hotel towed my car before I could even check in and they would not budge with us even though we were staying at the Hotel. Manager would not help us even though we were out of state and needed our car. THIS IS THE WORST LA QUINTA TO STAY AT! MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR PARKING PASS!

Mitchell D.

Yelp
It was ok, nothing special. The breakfast was lackluster, as it did not include hot entrees such as scrambled eggs, and/or sausage (only cold hard boiled eggs) like most hotels offering breakfast. The area left something to be desired as one did not feel safe waking down the local roads... overall the facility was not bad, a lot of street noise though. Staff was friendly, close walk to riverwalk and other local attractions (Alamo)

Renae R.

Yelp
Liza at the front desk is fabulous! We had never been to San Antonio and she shared her love of the city by giving us recommendations and directions. Breakfast was basic, waffles (always a good thing), cereal, hard boiled eggs, coffee, milk and juice. The eating area is small and constantly full, but everyone was kind and kept it moving. The outside of the motel was pretty dirty and a bit off putting and our room definitely could use updating. The baseboard strips were coming off in places and the chairs had stains, but overall it was clean. I would stay at this hotel again because in the area, it is the best value. You get free parking (for one car), breakfast, and free wifi for a reasonable price. It is across the street from Market Square and within walking distance of the Riverwalk, Alamo and all of the other San Antonio highlights. You can't get those amenities if you stay on the Riverwalk.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
The restroom had some hair stuck to the wall of the shower. The wall behind the restroom door in front of the toilet had rusted cracks and a small hole. The carpet had stains, as did both chairs by the desk. The accent wall had white smears on it, and under the covers I found some small leaves and twigs. There were no electrical outlets by the beds unless you unplug the lamp or alarm clock (that didn't go off) to plug in my cell phone. The lamps by the beds didn't even work at all. I was also scared one night when someone was shoving a pizza ad in through the side of the door creating a sound that someone was trying to get into the bedroom. For morning breakfast there didn't seem to be someone manning the eating, or breakfast set up table. Tables were messy, leaving other guests to clean up after someone else's previous mess, and there were huge drops of spilled coffee leading all the way to the side door. Someone could've easily have slipped and hurt themselves. The only way I'd stay here again is if everywhere else is booked in the vicinity, because that was the only main thing that was good about the place. A walk away from great restaurants and shopping, and fast access to the freeways. I would ask to see the room before being assigned one, and either way bring flip flops to wear so you don't touch the carpet. They also offer about 12 TV stations, being mostly cable. If you have young children make sure they don't watch Showtime at night. I was flipping through the channels before going to bed, and there was a Porn Video Award Show on, that showed naked, and explicit video. Unless you like that sort of thing, then you're in luck.
google avatar

Cat A.

Yelp
A dump. No elevator. Outside corridors. Carpet is so stained I don't want to walk on it. Booked 2 queen room got 2 double beds. Front desk help is nasty. No help at all.
google avatar

Tim W.

Yelp
The free breakfast and the room is nice but the business center door is all janky and the fitness center is the poorest fitness center I've seen in a hotel. They'd be better off having an empty room with a couple mats then what they have. All the cables are about to snap and the bike and treadmill don't even turn on. All in all I probably wouldn't prefer to stay here again.
google avatar

Jose S.

Yelp
From the outside, the place looks attractive similar to a little village. The rooms have old furniture and could you modern decorations. The restroom door did not close due to foundation issues. The bed seemed to stiffer than what I am used to. The room lacks a mini fridge. The good side to the hotel is the staff. They were very helpful and resourceful.
