La Ramona Charming Hotel

First time in Costa Rica and this is definitely the best hotel, the breakfast is awesome which is cooked for you in the morning and you have a choice of what to eat, it was definitely enough for half a day 😉. It has a mini gym with air conditioning. I stayed in a brand new hotel with a very large bathroom and the most beautiful sunrise and sunset views! The bed and linens are all wonderful. This is definitely the best place in Tamarindo, very quiet and cozy, I felt like family! I will definitely come back here again.

Great hotel located super close to the Tamarindo center (5 minutes walk). The place has a beautiful inner garden with a pool and even a little gym. Breakfast is served at the bar cooked at the moment, it could honestly be improved (using traditional recipes with locally sourced food instead of crepes and strawberry jam) but it doesn’t taste bad, maybe a little small. The rooms around the pool (which is left a little bit to its own) are old and a little dirty and not really well kept but the newer one on the higher floors are really beautiful and modern. The staff is nice and helpful

I moved to this hotel after staying a few nights in a much more expensive "luxury" beachfront place that was so mouldy my clothes actually grew scum after only four days. La Ramona was a considerable upgrade--impeccably clean, lovely garden, close to everything, and Pavel, the manager was super-kind and helpful. I highly recommend.

Great hospitality! And an incredible value! You get freshly made breakfast every morning and the best part is that it’s quiet and peaceful! It’s a close enough walk to all the action in Tamarindo but far enough not to hear club music or cars driving by (you’ll hear birds and other animals occasionally, but if you’re complaining about that, why are you even in Costa Rica?!) Loved this place! Would 1000% recommend and come back!

La Ramona is a great place to stay in Tamarindo. It is clean and beautiful and has all of the necessities. It’s a short walk to the beach, groceries, and restaurants but is quiet at nights. Pavel is a fantastic manager and incredibly responsive.

Lovely little hotel a short walk from the centre of Tamarindo. Really welcoming and friendly staff and the owner went out of his way to introduce himself and check everything was good with our stay. As our room was ready we were also able to check in early which was really helpful after travelling. Good facilities in the rooms, which was very clean. We paid extra for a room with an outside bathtub which was lovely but by the time we went to use it was full of bugs and leaves etc, which put us off (can’t be helped though!) Enjoyed the outside shower and the toiletries provided were very nice.

We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful hotel located just outside the main area of Tamarindo. Its location was a lovely balance, close enough to walk into town while offering a quieter environment, which we really appreciated. The room itself was beautifully designed with an aesthetic that was very pleasing.||That said, there are a few areas where we feel improvements could be made. There is currently construction taking place, which didn’t bother us too much but might be disruptive for other guests, especially as it started at 7am one morning. This created an awkward gap between the noise and the start of breakfast service at 8am. Speaking of breakfast, it was a bit of a shame that we couldn’t enjoy it due to many Tamarindo activities beginning early in the morning. Additionally, we noticed a small amount of black mould in the room, which may require attention.||The staff were pleasant, though the overall atmosphere of the hotel didn’t feel particularly welcoming at times. For instance, when we arrived an hour early due to a shuttle, there were no shared facilities available for changing so I was unable to change into bathers for the beach. We also found it a little concerning that there’s a charge if you accidentally get coffee on the walls, given the white-painted rooms. These details made us feel slightly hesitant during our stay.||Despite these minor issues, we found the hotel to be a peaceful retreat and very aesthetically pleasing. While we only stayed for two nights and didn’t feel the need to raise these concerns at the time, addressing them could make the experience even better for future guests. Thank you for hosting us—we look forward to seeing how this lovely hotel continues to improve!

Great experience at La Ramona! Staff was super kind and always welcomed us with a smile 🌼 We really loved the outdoor/indoor shower, we wish we could bring it home with us hahaha 🥹 The room was ULTRA clean, everything smelled good! The pool was also really clean. Everything looked so cute and perfect! I really recommend if you need a stay at Tamarindo 🌺🦋
