"La Reine Jane has presided over the port at Hyères since the middle of the last century, and from the outside it still looks as it did when it appeared in Godard’s Pierrot le fou. Inside, though, it’s had a thorough makeover, each of its 14 rooms entrusted to a different artist, none of whom can be accused of going halfway in their redecoration efforts. To say it’s got a strong personality would be a vast understatement; a roof terrace offers yoga by day and a lounge by night, while the restaurant is open for brunch on Sundays and dinner five nights a week." - Tablet Hotels
The Sunday Brunch was wonderful! A full buffet experience served with a hot beverage including sea food, oysters, prawns, a variety of salads, cheese and charcuterie, bread, eggs, bacon and more… the highlight for us was the sweet section including tiramisu, crème brûlée, Cakes, pancakes, fruit, pastries, and etc.
Staff were super nice and the ambiance deco is super cool too.

We had brunch on Sundays since a few years here, but the level went so much down … less choice, to much people accepted so trays always empty, coffee served on a glass without spoon ( they ran out of spoons and cups), waiting 30min for a cold coffee,…such a pity

We booked 2 nights to recharge after a busy summer. We leave exhausted after having to sleep in the car. The hotel bedroom was tired and small. The toilet was in the shower and next to the bed open with no door. The decoration very tired the bed sheets stained. I could have lived with that however what happened the second night was incomprehensible. The hotel was hired for a private function. The first we heard of this was at check in we were told we would not be able to use the restaurant or rooftop as they had been privatized. Again although inconvenient I could have lived with it although we had had all the facilities taken away and were essentially paying 200 euros a night for a tiny room. We went for dinner at a beautiful hotel called lodges de île d’or highly recommended and having subsequently read the reviews for the reine Jane restaurant we are relieved we didn’t eat there. When we returned to the hotel the party was in. Full swing at 10.30 pm. The room was vibrating from the disco downstairs however at around 11.30 the party moved onto the roof above our head and we were treated to « cotton eyed Joe then a half an hour fireworks display. Then everyone back downstairs and the music went up another level. I went downstairs at midnight and complained I was told impolitely there was nothing they could do. At 1.:30 we left the hotel and went to sleep in our car. I recorded all the noise with the time visible to show the manager. We had to wait until 10 am to speak to someone who turned out to be the same person I had complained to the night before. He Is the restaurant manager the hotel manager was not present. He insisted I had been told about the privatization in advance and unapologetic. We were made to pay and told to email the manager. I wish I could attach the videos of the noise but sadly it’s not possible so I will upload some photos of the terrible room. This is the first review I have ever written I don’t want this to happen to anyone else

Stayed for two nights. The room was awful, shabby and no bathroom. The toilet was in the shower cubicle and open to the room very awkward sharing with my girlfriend. We had to use the toilet down stairs. The communal areas were nice and the location excellent so we decided to just work around the room however what happened on our second evening was incomprehensible at check in we were advised we would not be able to use the restaurant on the evening of the 31st as it had been privatised not the end of the world but I didn’t realise the roof would also be closed to us leaving us with no where to be except inside our room. The dining room and roof turned into the loudest disco imaginable our room was shaking people up and down stairs doors banging. At 11.30 the guests all gathered on the roof for a 15 minute fireworks display then followed by more music. At midnight I complained and was dismissed and told there was nothing that could be done. At 1.30 we were sitting in the street my girlfriend in tears. After no sleep we wanted to leave immediately but had to wait until 10 to speak to the manager who turned out to be the same person I’d complained to the previous night. He said he was the restaurant manager and we needed to email the manager of the hotel. We were told it was our fault as we had been notified in advance. We had not. We were not offered any resolution and handed a bill for nearly 400 euros for 2 nights stay. It’s a disgrace they can allow people not involved in the private party to make reservations and subject them to this torture and sleep deprivation we had to cancel all our plans for the Sunday and drive home dangerously tired. Please I implore everyone not to go here. We are so disappointed and disgusted by what just happened. Unprofessionalism at its worst.

Coming to Hyeres for 25 years, the whole experience has been greatly enhanced since La Reine Jeanne came on the scene (and her sisters Le Marias and now Hotel Lilou too!). Myself and my kids love the Sunday brunch of fresh, local and authentic French dishes, in abundance. I LOVE yoga on the rooftop on Sunday morning and drinks there in the evening for sunset! This is one of the coolest spots in Hyeres, not to be missed ❤️

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Tiny room tired and stained including the sheets. Toilet inside the shower (see photo) and open to the room next to your pillow. Even worse the hotel was privatized on our second night. We were not permitted to use any of the common spaces including the roof and the restaurant was closed to us. The music was unimaginably loud the roof was directly above our head the room was vibrating. When I complained at midnight I was rudely told there was nothing that could be done. At 1.30 we left our room and slept in our car. Next day hung around exhausted and devestated when the manager arrived it was the restaurant manager not the hotel manager in fact the same person I spoke to at midnight. I showed him all the recordings I had taken on my phone and the time they had been made. He couldn’t have cared less. Basically he blamed us and said we had been informed in advance though could not offer any proof. We were only informed the dining room would be closed on the Saturday and certainly not told there would be the kind of hell we were subjected too. It was torture. We now have a dangerously long drive after no sleep. We were made to pay the full 400 euros and not offered so much as a drink as a gesture of apology. All plans for the Sunday were cancelled we just wanted to get home and sleep. Incomprehensible experience. I’m so shocked this can happen. Please don’t book. Go to the lodges îles d’or it’s beautiful with kind professionalism and hardly any difference in price but worlds apart in terms of experience. It’s also got an amazing restaurant. We were actually relived the restaurant was closed in retrospect. Having subsequently read the reviews it sounds as dreadful as the hotel

We have had a wonderful week in this family-run hotel. The owners and the delightful team are so very pleasant and helpful. It is the cleanest hotel we have stayed in ever in France and we have been to many. The breakfasts are excellent as are the evening meals. We ate here every evening. The relaxed atmosphere is simply great. Wifi worked all the time. Do visit this charming hotel with its beautiful view.
