"On the tree-lined banks of the Siem Reap River, in the heart of the bustling tourist town of the same name, a walled compound harks back to a more refined era.Its sloping terracotta roofs, louvered doors, and teak and basalt accentsdraw onboth traditional Khmer and French colonial architecture. The grounds are lush, filled with large-leafed tropical plants and brightly hued flowers that shade lounging residents from the intense sun and perfume the steamy air with sweet fragrances. Wooden pavilions offer breezy resting spots, where a refreshing hibiscus tea, or something stronger, never goes amiss; when the heat gets too intense, the most refreshing respite is a dip in the turquoise pool. By evening, traditional dance and musical performances accompany gourmet Khmer dinners. What’s most impressive about the Belmond La Résidence d’Angkor is that it was built only in 2002 (and completely renovated in 2016) and yet has managed to cultivate a feeling of Old World elegance. The rooms in this all-suite property areoutfitted with the latest in modern technology and luxury, yetthe atmosphere is one of Khmer tradition and refinement (thinkhand-woven silks, locally made crafts, and original art). The decadent spa, too, feels like a more modern sanctuary, even though its treatments use traditional methods and locally made products; guests are also greeted with a choice of housemade soaps for their room, and sent home with extras as a gift, demonstrating the hotel’s consummate hospitality."

"Cross a bridge over a lotus pond to reach this peaceful mansion-like hotel a few miles from the temples of Angkor. The hotel is housed within a walled garden that is an oasis of palms, bougainvillea, and frangipani. Accented with jewel-tone silk cushions, Khmer-style rooms have bamboo furnishings and floor-to-ceilings windows. The entire property closed for six month in 2016 and reopened in April 2017 with just 59 suites."

What a refreshing experience to find a place that truly understands modern luxury. The tech integration was flawless yet unobtrusive, the sustainability efforts genuine without being preachy, and the service perfectly balanced between attentive and respectful. The breakfast options catered to both traditional and adventurous palates.

The whole hotel facility is amazing! One gourmet restaurant and another more casual. Three bars and two pools. Each very different. One spa, and treatments lovely. And the grounds and decor are fantastic! Now for details...||This hotel is two different facilities, on opposite sides of the street. One is more sophisticated and the colour palate is black and white. Exquisite art work everywhere and a pool with a whole wall of cascading water. This was good, because it kept this pool a little cooler, whereas the other one was HOT - sort of like your bath at home!!||The other hotel, on the opposite side of the street, is more casual and the pool is in the direct sunlight all day, hence why it is so hot. But it is surrounded by grass and lots of umbrellas, so it is definitely nice. The rooms in this part of the hotel are larger, and overlook the big pool.||Three complaints though... the electrical lighting in the rooms is CRAZY!!! There are switches all over the place, and no rhyme or reason as to which one turns on or off what! There is even a 'master' swtch that turns off everything, including the airconditioner, hich is absolutely necessary! When you accidentally switch it off, you have to call maintenance to turn it back on!! Very poor design! The shower is massive, and beautiful. However, it is also extremely slippery stone and we were constantly on guard not to fall. All they need to do is sand the stone so it isn't so slippery and it would be much safer! And finally - the beds are as hard as a plank of plywood!!! Everyone was complaining and had numb fingers and arms because their circulation was cut off in the night!!!||We ate at the fine dining restaurant one evening and had the four course set menu. Nothing short of fabulous, and I would go back again and again if I could!! Also ate at the casual restaurant and it is good for lunch, but not so good for dinner.||All staff, everywhere, are lovely, helpful and so gracious! We had a spa treatment and it was nicely done and the spa area is lovely, too.||I would definitely stay here if I was going to Siem Reap again. Fantastic pllce.

Stayed here few years ago, but remember it well.||The rooms are outstanding, cosy and situated around a beautiful garden. ||The room was large with a nice bathroom area. The hotel was like an oasis in a busy city. It was very quiet and relaxing. When we stayed there was a free mini bar as well as a free cocktail at the bar nightly.||I got quite ill whilst here (no fault of the hotel), the staff assisted my wife to get a doctor which was much appreciated.||Would highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Belmond for a couple of nights on our honey moon. This hotel is incredible, it is located in the middle of the city but it has a very jungle and nature environment. The pool opens 24 h, the rooms are very clean and luxurious, and the spa is the best one I have seen in my life (opens until 10PM and facility is indescribable). The attention was outstanding and the breakfast was very calm, diverse, and very tasty. I would not think twice if you visit Siem Reap, it is truly an experience.

I stayed at the Belmond in Siem Reap with my family for 3 days 2 nights in early August. It was our first stay with the brand and must say it did not disappoint!! The hotel is an older residence which is full of charm all the while you have luxury comforts and amenities. It’s a private oasis! The hotel offers free daily activities and the Friday we arrived it was a cocktail reception. Excellent value with your choice of beer, wine, two cocktails as well as sparkling water, mocktails and some bar snacks. It’s a great stop before dinner and good way to chat with the associates who were very open to talk about life in Cambodia. What really stood out the most however was the service. Every single encounter from front office and concierge to the restaurants to the spa - all associates were engaging and friendly and eager to make our stay memorable. Everyone was great with our son which was so touching to see. The thing is, friendly service is pretty common in South East Asia... what is NOT common however is staff that are truly empowered enough to openly engage with guests in real conversation, proactively make suggestions and are able to make decisions without having to go through multiple layers of checking with management first. Although most good leaders will credit their staff with making them successful, the truth is if the leadership does not inspire and motivate associates cannot reach their potential of creating great guest experiences. So I’d like to say hats off to Area General Manager Samuel Wong for instilling such a fantastic service culture at the Belmond!! The difference in service is really very noticeable - well done!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this hotel is! Rooms and grounds are beautiful. Service is amazing! Everyone is so nice and helpful. The pool area is breath taking. They arranged tours for us that were so much fun. We loved biking in the countryside and our Angkor Wat tour was incredible. The food is really good and breakfast was a special treat every morning. The spa is beautiful and I had the best massage that I have ever had. I would love to return.
