Came a bit out of the city center on the recommendation of a local. It was a great decision as we were delighted from the entrance to the exit. Starting from the reception, we can see tanks of live seafood and a bar of iced seafood; on the way to the table, we caught a look at the kitchen, where we glimpsed a wizened chef sternly guiding his staff.
Our waiter Marco spoke great conversational English while giving us enough time to familiarize ourselves with the menu. He jovially answered all our questions and instantly grasped the type of dining experience we wanted. With his help, we decided on the fish carpaccio, two pastas, and a shared sea bass, to be had with a white Lugana (Frati by Ca Dei Frati).
The carpaccio was delicious and refreshing. The two pastas were both amazing in their own way - the "risacca spaghetti" was served with an assortment of fresh shellfish (umami, crisp, light and balanced); the chef special tagliolini was served with an assortment of cuttlefish and shrimp (aromatic and generous with seafood flavors). When the sea bass was ready, Marco showed us the plated whole fish, then proceeded to carve it onto separate plates for us. It had a good balance of tenderness and firmness. With a dribbling of olive oil, the taste was perfect.
This will be my seafood restaurant of choice while in Milan in the foreseeable future. Don't miss out!
