"Beware What the Night Hides Those seeking adventure and a hair-raising experience should beware: La Ronde goes big. The amusement park, located a quick bus ride from downtown Montreal , raises the dead, so to speak, for the most frightening festival in the province: Fright Fest. In addition to the world-class white-knuckle rides, La Ronde also offers terrifying sights and surprises that redefine "scared to death." Vampires, witches, zombies, werewolves... who knows what's hiding in the dark? Amid thousands of pumpkins, cornstalks, and hay bales, visitors can roam around the park and meet oversized creatures from the “Thrills by Day, Fright by Night” surprises. The month-long celebration runs Saturdays and Sundays through October."

Very kid friendly. Great themed areas for the kids sections: bugs, pirates and dinosaurs...how could you go wrong with that? Easy to get around the park. Mist being blown over you when lining up for many of the rides to keep patrons cool. Lots of rides were removed and nothing replaced them. Easy to do the entire park in a day (we went on a Friday). Finding the parking lot was a pain, but once you find it, it is close to the entrance. For a theme park the food options were surprisingly good. More of a focus on family friendly vs big coasters. Vampire was awesome!

We went for the fireworks and since we were there to enjoy the rides too. Honestly rides weren’t as good as I thought, a lot of hitting in my head as I ride the roller coasters and also a few times I felt uncomfortable due to the way the security was holding me to the chair with my stuff and told the employees and they didn’t help me. Everyone was in a hurry, and I get it. But the vip lines?? I waited for +30min to get to a ride, finally get my turn and when I was just about to sit a large group of boys ran to all the sits available and had to wait more, they didn’t even wait. I understand that vip means no wait in line but can you at least control they don’t run?? Whatever. Three starts go for the view that was pretty, but wouldn’t come back. I go to amusement parks often but this one got me sick over the hits in my head and bad stability while riding.

I heard a lot about that park before especially that many slides get stuck but I was lucky. Unfortunately I don’t have enough time to try all slides I wanted because queues were so long. (We were waiting for “Monster” and “Titan” for at least an hour each). But there is an option if you don’t want to stand in line you can pay about 40-50$ and buy special ticket. In general, slides were really breathtaking and we got a lot of positive emotions

Wonderful park attraction. The roller coasters offer thrilling experiences. For anyone seeking the ultimate rush, Goliat and Titan provide incredible sensations. Overall, the park is a great place to spend an awesome time

Google
La Ronde Park has lots of amazing rides and thrilling machines that make it a great destination for a fun day out. However, the lines are always very long, and the wait times can get frustrating. The ride operators also tend to be quite slow, which makes things move even more slowly than they should. It’s a fun place if you have patience, but expect to spend a good portion of your day just waiting in line. Still, the rides themselves are worth trying at least once.

Google
DO NOT PAY FOR PLATINUM, it is a waste of money. Half of the rides were of our defective. The place is not even 1/3 full in the middle of school vacation, I cannot imagine how empty this is on regular days. Very desorganized too. Of course, everything to drink and eat is extremely overpriced too. On the bright side, sobre rides still cool such as "Monster" the wood Roller coaster. The Best ride for sure.

Yelp
La Ronde (lit. 'The Round') is an amusement park in Montreal, built as the entertainment complex for Expo 67, the 1967 World Fair. Today, it is operated by Six Flags under a lease with the City of Montreal, which expires in 2065. It is the largest amusement park in Quebec and second largest in Canada. It is on 59 hectares (146 acres) located on the Northern tip of Saint Helen's Island. This is a man-made extension to the island in the space where the small Ronde Island had been. The park hosts L'International des Feux Loto-Québec, an international fireworks competition. La Ronde is one of three Six Flags parks not to be officially branded as a Six Flags park, Great Escape in Queensbury, New York, and Frontier City in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma being the other two. I love coming to Montreal every summer for L'International des Feux Loto-Québec. It's such a beautiful display of pirotechnics ! This summer, the magic of fire will light up the sky of Montreal for the 36th edition of L'International des Feux Loto-Québec. This year's edition will be more special than ever, with world-renowned firms each competing for their respective countries and invited to participate in this pyrotechnic competition, recognized as one of the most prestigious in the world... The 2022 dates: June 25, July 2, July 9, July 13, July 16, July 20, July 27, August 3 and August 6. The pictures I took were not from La Ronde, but from across the river, where you can watch the show for free.

Yelp
I used to come to La Ronde every summer as a kid. This is a real time capsule, so many of the rides (even in the small kid section) are still operational. It was so neat to sit on the same rides I did as a kid, and take my kids on them. It is a time capsule- so many memories! Some of the rides, such as the merry go round, are so beautiful and ornate, and I have fond memories of them as a kid. If you get the fast pass, it is well worth the price, as you get to skip to the front of the line. The lines for the roller coasters can be quite long, so with the fast pass, you can go on all the rides in record time.

Yelp
Rides are honestly quite good. Once you've been a few times you've basically experienced all there is. But I've had a lot of fun over the 10 ish times I've been. Good rollercoaster's, beaver tails, Halloween is always great, the catapult swing I did once... Unfortunately, the lines are pretty damn bad. And they are a bit misleading with how they advertise their season passes, specifically when it comes to the inclusion of parking.

Yelp
The only six flags I've visited yet but gonna change this next week as I'll try Great adventure in NJ. Since this theme park is the one I grew up with since I'm about 6 it's in this park that I develop my passion for Roller coasters and when I was younger this was usually my big summer moment and I got so much nostalgia about this place
google avatar

Yelp
The wait times are crazy. I've been to the two big parks in Orlando and wait times were shorter! We bought tickets to see the annual fireworks competition and decided to go mid-late afternoon to go on a few rides. Right. We arrived at 5:30pm and it's now 8:00pm and we went on one ride. Not one of the roller coasters. Unless you want to spend the extra cash for fast passes, don't bother.

Yelp
Yikes. I've never seen anything more poorly run. It felt as if they opened up one day and said, "Welp, let's hope for the best!" Upon entering the park, it's immediately unmarked and unclear where to get into the park. Have a stroller or wheelchair? Good luck! We had to move barriers ourselves to get through. Also don't expect to purchase tickets in-person because it's required to purchase online (luckily we did!) Lines for food were unlike anything I've ever seen. And I've seen long food lines at a place like this but there are multiple workers behind the counters working quickly. Outside food is not allowed so we had to get something. A popcorn and pretzel line appeared to be the fastest option. After 15 minutes of waiting I had to fully commit to the line. No exaggeration: 15 or less people in front of me & the wait was a FULL HOUR. My husband and I had to split duties and he took our oldest on a couple more rides as I waited with our other kiddo. Thank goodness I snuck in some toddler snacks or things could've been a lot uglier (lol). So essentially, I felt robbed here. Just don't go. Don't.

Yelp
This place sucks. Long lines no information on why half the rides were closed and couldn't get a glass of water for my disabled grandmother due to rude and uniformed employees. Parking instructions are unclear and had a side view mirror stolen off my vehicle. Ive seen town fairs more organized and had more fun getting teeth pulled and when my dog died. Would give them 0 stars if possible because of the horrible atmosphere and service.

Yelp
La Ronde La Ronde La Ronde...... oh boy, where do I begin? I was so excited making La Ronde one of my must stops while visiting Montréal, and unfortunately it was the most disappointing part of my trip. Honestly, in a nutshell, the park is in desperate need of upgrades and TLC. There were lots of older style roller coasters without the smooth ride; however, Vampire and Goliath were their best two coasters. They had multiple rides that were playing music but were closed with no one tending to the rides. There were a lot of concession areas that were closed, and they had so many carnival style rides (which is strange to me and made the park seem more like a county fair than a theme park). I've been to a couple other Six Flags in the United States, and those had several amazing rides with the entire park being fully operational; not sure what's going on with La Ronde. Additionally; the walking route does not continue in a circle, so it disrupts the flow of the park since you must turn around and walk back the way you came from instead of a continuous path for instance when you reach the Grande Roue ride. Basically, I was there 2 1/2 hours including the lunch I ate there, and I was ready to go. The park unfortunately doesn't leave you with the feel of wanting to stay the entire day. In my opinion, I only gave it two stars because families with really young kids may love it because it's a space for their littles ones to run around, ride the carnival type rides, and burn them out for a day.

Yelp
The lines to get in are literally miles long. Everyone who works there is rude, and the park is dated. It's the worst amusement park I've ever been to. Having worked in the service industry for my whole life, it's terrible to see the employees here never putting a customer first.

Yelp
Pooh and I decided to bike to LaRonde. I haven't been there is many years and Pooh, a few years - very disappointed! We had 50% off our tickets which was great cuz I wouldn't pay full price for what we got. Some rides were closed and many rides were only meant for a certain type of physique. One ride (the dragon) was only 30 seconds (at most) long and the visual effects were lame. The Farris Wheel had 40 gondolas (which looked like cages) and they only filled 8 at a time so the wait was ridiculously long. $4.75 for a regular sized soda. We didn't eat anything so can't comment on the food; however, I did look for a deep-fried candy bar but maybe that is only in American amusement parks. All-in-all not a good experience.

Yelp
I love this place. Sure the lines are neverending during rush hours but that is a sign that people also love this place. If you love theme parks long lines and lots of people is something you should expect. I bought the season pass 2nd year in a row for about 100$ I can come as much as I want with out the "must do all" feeling which help make this into a fun experience. You come around 10 am on the weekend do 3-5 rides and go home to continue your fun weekend no pressure and befor all the others come and pack the place. I have a friend that use to come during weekdays in the summer after 6pm for 2-3 hours of fun. Anyway to make this very long story short, great park take it as it is and just release your inner child.
google avatar

Yvette G.

Yelp
I came to La Ronde with my sister during the week. We got a season pass at a special price when they had a promotion (115$ for two season passes). It cost less than a day pass at the regular price. We barely waited in line since it was a Thursday. And because the lines were so short, we did almost 10 rides in 3 hours; whereas during a busy time, we would have done half the rides in the same time span. They also have plenty of food stalls everywhere in the park. So great experience overall!
google avatar

Yelp
Overall my experience was alright. I'll start with the cons: -lines were 1+ hour wait -food service at Amir's was rude and expensive I ate as little as possible because I didn't want to waste my money on overpriced average food. -seats on the roller coasters were tight especially people who are THICC. -expensive prices of everything -some places weren't open because (I'm assuming) being understaffed. Pros: -most rides were fun dispitethe long lines -a lot of the employees seemed happy and friendly -the staff I intervened with were nice and helpful because my French is not the best but most knew English anyways -good atmosphere -family friendly I had a great day with my family and friends, but not sure this would be a "must do" when visiting Montreal.

Yelp
I don't know why there are so many negative reviews for La Ronde... I am glad I didn't check this page before purchasing my season pass lol This was my first time going to La Ronde/any theme park in Canada for that matter. We have some incredible ones in the UK so I was a bit sceptical if it could top that but it definitely exceeded my expectations of the park. We went on a super hot day, on the second week it had opened for summer and so the queues were long... I think the longest we waited was 45mins for a rollercoaster! We were too lazy to line up for Goliath however as were told it was 1-2hr wait time which was quite a put off. Anyway, we visited again on a Friday and this time there was a lot less queues and so more rides! There is a lot of variety and I like the layout of the park... One big thrill ride with more calmer rides by it so you can build up your confidence again. Food is extremely overpriced at the park though which is unfair seeing as there isn't much nearby... Also, I found some of the rides wayyyy too short for the amount of time we waited to go on them... Orbit for example is probably a minute long which I found ridiculous... It is a thrill of a ride however so I would still redo the line up for it. Aside from the few negative points, I still feel the season pass is worth it if you like theme parks! I definitely will be going a lot this summer!!

Yelp
A Six Flags amusement park in Montreal, Canada. It's Eastern Canada's largest park. Coaster enthusiasts would have an amazing time with Bateau Pirate and Boomerang as they're thrill rides. Disappointedly the park does not offer bouillabaisse to patrons but does have French crepes for a taste of Paris, France making it authentic.
google avatar

Erika M.

Yelp
Very much like a standard six flags, but less. I'm not from the area so I expected a six flags like the one in New Jersey, which is known for a few high rises. This was much tamer and seemed somewhat smaller. I was here visiting friends and this is the only major amusement park in the area for a good price. They were running a deal that a season pass was cheaper than a day pass. So, of course, myself living nine hours away by car, bought the season pass. Still had a good time with good company, but expected more.
google avatar

Diego B.

Yelp
I love this place. If you want to avoid the neverending lines, don't go durin the rush hour. You have to be there, two hours before closing time and I guarantee, you do more than 8 rides. The food is overpriced. It's always good to buy the golden pass to avoid paying for parking.
google avatar

Jing S.

Yelp
Situated on île sainte-Helene, this is the only roller coaster amusement park in Montreal. Part of the company sixflag; La Ronde has its unique touch to roller coasters. It has one of the oldest wooden roller coasters still running called "le monstre". Honestly though, I don't really like it; it's very shaky and can be painful at turns (or maybe I'm just getting to old for this). The Goliath is my favorite ride at La Ronde. On Wednesdays and Saturdays they have fireworks; if you want the full experience with music and the shows, you have to pay extra for a ticket. Otherwise you can just watch it from anywhere. Obviously ok those days it's more crowded equals more line up for the roller coasters. Overall, great fun to have in family; don't forget to hydrate yourself. PS: the seasonal pass is so worth it. You pay almost the same price as the ticket and you get access to all sixflag parks. Great excuse for road trip in the states ;)

Yelp
La Ronde is definitely better than a lot of the other Canadian theme parks such as the PNE in Vancouver, but it pales in comparison to the theme parks that you can find in America and Asia. I really enjoyed several of the roller coasters at La Ronde but my first experience here in the summer was horrible because it was extremely humid and the 90 minute wait for the Goliath was simply torture. Since there was a promotion going on at the time, we decided to purchase a year pass so we could go several times throughout the summer. Our second visit was actually in the pouring rain while our third visit was probably the best because it was just cloudly. Our final visit was rainy as well but it was the most worth it because we got to share our 50% off coupons with our friends who had never gone before. Anyways, I think La Ronde is definitely a fun theme park if you're stuck in the province of Quebec, but I would much rather go to Fuji Q Highland or Disney Sea in Japan. Tip: Their season passes actually work at any of the Six Flag theme parks in North America!

Yelp
Can I give this place a No STAR? I spent over 400$ today at this stupid park. We tried to leave at 8 pm . It is now 11:17pm and I am still sitting here in the parking lot trying to leave. Gridlock ed everywhere. With 2 kids getting antsy in the back seat. No food or water. It is UNACCEPTABLE . I DEMAND A REFUND FOR THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Dan S.

Yelp
The amusement park aspect is as good as you would expect for this market, with a few great roller coasters, that including a nice wooden dual track beast! The kids area is smallish, but fun, and haven't had any unreasonable line up issues. Except for any food services. It seems quite literally like not a single person knows what's going on. In the time I have been writing this while standing in line not a single order has actually been served. And this is not unique. I've been to the park three times this week and have yet to have a differing experience at any of the "fast food" vendors. But I suppose I'm not really here for the food....

Yelp
I was extremely excited for la ronde for three rides: monstre, Goliath and mansion rouge. I'm a huge fan of walk through horror mazes and la ronde has 2! Unfortunately this was closed for the season, and it just opened two years ago- what a waste of space to only open this for horror nights in October. monstre was also closed unluckily for me, and the log flume closed for the season, and the stand up coaster was closed for the season!!! Major rides that are in major areas seen by the public in this park!! For such an awesome location this park totally sucks. You can do all the good rides in 2 hours and just head home, total disappointment and absolutely no shows to see for the day either. 5-10 years ago this park was incredible, now it is just filled with empty building one after another- it is not worth any kind of money- six flags has ruined this park. Half the buildings are abandoned!!!! There should be multiple shows and rides that are open to fill the day with fun, but we went for two hours and spent the rest of the day in the park on the island next to the theme park. Three of the MAJOR coasters are rides you can ride at most parks all over the place (the batman, boomerang, and the SLC) Just a pitiful display of rides, I wasted a trip here. For such an awesome city this place does no justice, and the clientele has changed over the years as well- bad bad bad!! I wish the price was double with correct offerings to an actual theme park.

Mander T.

Yelp
For sunny or weekend days, the lineups are very long, like 1 hour long to just ride the Titan., or 50 minute wait for dragon...etc. If you don't like to wait, go on colder, cloudy or rainy days during summer weekdays, the lineups are 5 minutes or non-existent. Anyways this is the only real choice of amusement park in Montreal Area. Its got great selection of rides and roller coasters. Food average around $12 for a simple meal. SlingShot and cannonball rides cost $10 extra. Also normal price of daily ticket is around $60, which is almost the same price as discounted season pass; better to just buy the pass if you plan to go at least 2 times or more. October fright fest special attractions in costs $9 extra per entrance (eg. Maison Rouge, District 510, Massacre Museum ... etc.), not included in gate admission.

Yelp
There are better Six Flags parks in the chain. As I've read in other reviews, the park is in need of some TLC. There doesn't seem to be a lot spent on on-going maintenance (chipped paint, run down). Being a fan of wooden coasters, I wanted to try Le Monstre. It is a monster. We waited close to two hours in the heat for this ride and it wasn't fun. It was shakier than any other wooden coaster that I've been on (and I've been on coasters that are 50 years old). I felt my brain being shaken. Goliath however was a treat. It is quite a long ride upwards of 175 feet in height. Similar to Raging Bull at GA but better. There is a lot of unused space with the lake in the middle of the park. This seems ripe for opportunity to add more rides. As mentioned in other reviews, the walking route does not continue in a circle. You must turn around and walk back the way you came from or cut through the middle to get back to the entrance.

Yelp
My family and I went to La Ronde Amusement Park and it was a great experience. Our favorite ride was the huge wooden roller coaster, i forget what its called. The other things that they offered there was great as well, there were different types of games there, many for all ages to try! The food that was there was very tasty! I will be returning to La Ronde in the near future.

Yelp
My friends and I, four people total, went to La Ronde on Tuesday July 12th and we felt that the park was not worth the $200 we paid for it. First of all, it took us over 45 minutes of waiting to enter the park. As it was burning hot we tried to look for some shadow while waiting in line. Unfortunately there wasn't any, and to make matters even worse, there were no drinks available until after entering the park. The staff at the entrance wasn't aware of the tickets we bought right in front of them at the ticket booth so even that took us some more time before we finally got in. We did not receive a map of the park and McDonalds staff couldn't help us out when we asked about ATM locations across the park. Not to mention the McDonalds service after ordering a simple Big Mac and some fries (FOR A $11.40 PRICE!). After waiting for over 5 minutes, while the 10+ visitors behind me already received their food, I finally, after reminding them twice, I finally received my order. So let's move on to the rides. The first one, Goliath, was a joke. We had waited for over 2 hours and 10 minutes (again, in the burning sun) only to figure out the VR experience was a massive let down. Fast forward. As the day progressed, rides slowly got worth the wait, but that was only because the park became less and less crowded later that day. I guess the main complaint here would be that queue times are WAY out of control, probably due to the fact that a lot of the staff is very young and uninformed. Park was pretty clean though. Overall I'd probably recommend this theme park on days when it's not as crowded. But still, as for the rides, it's probably one of the most boring ones I've ever been to. Also nearly broke my neck twice in two different rides, which still kinda hurts. Sorry. Not visiting again.
google avatar

Martin B.

Yelp
We had forgot our season passes and went into the line to get other ones and wait forever. The customers service suck! Only one person to resolve issue at the entrance! This park doesn't impress me at all! Same for food at lunch time, it take forever to get over poor quality food.

Yelp
My kids had fun, but not $300+ worth of fun for a family of four! We lasted about 4 hours before we left. Our visit started with a $50 ding for parking, less then half of which was credited back at the gate. The line up at the entrance to buy tickets was crazy. Less than of the ticket booths were open. Food prices are outrageous - $6 for a small popcorn? Really? This would cost me about $0.30 to make at home. It was almost $10 for two 16 oz. drinks. Booth games at $5/play? No way! The "no outside food" rule is discouraging. Laronde could be a nice place for a family picnic, but once inside, it's just a monopolistic price gouge. All of the concessions price around the same, so there are no competitive, cheaper options. Ticket pricing is completely skewed and in favour of the repeat visitor, but I can't imagine coming here more than once a year. One day tickets are crazy expensive, even with a CAA discount. There's no family option for the one off visitor, just individual tickets. Add the parking cost and you're broke. The rides ARE decent, but three of the family friendly rides were out of operation while we were there, and neither my kids nor my wife had any stomach for the more extreme rides. I'd say Laronde is fine if you have a passion for dizzying rides and thriller roller coasters, but if you lean towards the tamer attractions, there isn't enough to justify the outrageous cost. Theme parks like Disney or Universal can justify their tickets prices because they have so much added value to the attractions. Laronde is just one big money grab.

Yelp
I'll admit, I love amusements parks but sadly Montreal has a sad sack attraction on 'Ile St-Helene' named 'La Ronde'. I used to enjoy it more when I was younger but over the years I've visited other amusement parks and La Ronde doesn't measure up. The amusement park is simply too small to serve the local population, they try to mark up their ticket prices to the heavens and people still come here in masses and wait around aimlessly all day to get on a ride. The food/prices prices are criminal and they know they can rake you in the eyes since you have no where else to go to eat/drink as you're on a random island in the middle of the St-Lawrence river. The rides are fun but they're showing their age, so many of them are under repair at all given times I wonder if the city sent its construction workers here instead of actual construction sites. Maybe they'll explain the thousands of abandoned cones found across the island over the last few months. But hey, the rides are fun! That is, if you can get to enjoy them. Make sure to get there early because once the afternoon comes in, expect to wait. I hope you like waiting because you'll be waiting a lot. An hour? Two hours? Yep! All for a 5 minute ride. Insane. You think I went on a weekend? Try a cloud-ish Thursday. In September. What gives? This place is just too small. They need to only have a certain # of guests at a time, how is this any fun? Really. Wonderland was amazing. Longest wait I had? 30 minutes for the newest ride. Everything else? 5 to 10 minutes. Sometimes some rides had NO WAIT TIME. So we did that like 5 times in a row! At La Ronde? You'll do 5 rides TOTAL. And what's up with paying more money for specific rides? Are you insulting my intelligence? No thanks.

Yelp
An amusement park on an island! Cool! This is a semi- small park, which is fine by me. The bigger parks can be too crowded and overwhelming. This is more community oriented and feels intimate. Now owned by Six-Flags, not much has changed I am glad they kept the La Ronde name. I love the fireworks competition in the summer months. Every Saturday night in summer, they offer free outstanding fireworks (every week a new country sponsors the show) and they are hosted the La Ronde and the City. The park is clean, and close to downtown. I have walked there myself from the gay village and take almost 1 hour.

Yelp
Worst amusement park I've ever gone to. Truly falling apart. The birds, weeds and trash have taken over. Even the rides broke down. What a disappointment. Never going back.

Yelp
Nice park. Love it. Pretty fun place to hang out with friends. It's not crowded on week days.

Yelp
I love this place! It's exciting and fun, and if you're not into rides, then there is so many other things you can do. It's a good place to bring kids, family and friends. Some food places can be overpriced, and you should walk with cash. There could be a long wait time for the rides.

Yelp
La Ronde is part of the SixFlags theme park franchise and is located on the Île Sainte-Hélène. The park is relatively small compared to some of the other Sixflags located in the US, however it is the second largest in Canada and a fairly popular place for roller-coaster lovers who live in the area. There are some exciting rides including the Goliath, the Monster, and the Vampire, not too awfully crowded and the price is reasonable for both the admission, season pass as well as the flash pass. Just a metro ride away on the yellow line, La Ronde is easily accessible from the Montreal area. La Ronde is also the primary location for famous events such as the Fireworks competition held annually.

Yelp
La Ronde is an alright place. I'll start with the good things. Over the pass few years it seems like they've been making an effort to increase rides and attract customers. However ( the negative side ) , I feel as though it is never quite enough. The lines are usually long . The park isn't that nice and the food is super overpriced. I'm a big fan of amusement parks and I'll go from time to time to see what has changed but the only time really worth going is during the Halloween season . If you're from out of town and you have a lot of time, I'd recommend it, if you're limited on time , I'd skip it and if you're living in Montreal and haven't been , I think it's worth checking out but I wouldn't be in a rush to do so.

Yelp
Yes three stars Dusting my vacation to Canada with my boyfriend we decided to go to the park out of no where The park was empty And the rides were kinda raggedy And most of the games were closed I'm guessing because they are so understaffed It was nice not having to wait in line but still. It's worth the 62 dollars I'll tell you that but any more than that, not worth it Also the employees look missable and are kind of rude Most don't even know where half the stuff is in the park Get a map because the staff isn't going to be much help

Yelp
I guess I should first explain how I got to La Ronde. I was on tour with a Senegalese band, traveling around the Great Lakes. I had a day free in Montreal so I asked the concierge what I absolutely could not miss seeing while in town. She tells me that there's an church in "Old Montreal" that I have to see. I got up early and went out for cereal. Cereal in Canada is not as sweet as cereal in the US, in case you were wondering. After breakfast I start to walk down toward Old Montreal, which has a bunch of docks. I cannot find this church. I ask a family about to get on a boat "ou est la cathedral de (whatever the name of the church was)?" They ask if I'm American, tell me the church is just a few docks away and suggest I get on the boat and they'll take me there. Now normally I wouldn't get on a stranger's boat but I think, they're not going to murder me with their kids there so I get on. They give me half a sandwich. I explain why I'm there, etc. I start to realize that Montreal is bigger than I thought. They drop me off, explain how to get to the church and invite me to their house for dinner. I thank them. They dropped me off at the wrong place. I somehow ended up at the Molson factory, no church in sight. This is not the fault of my French. I'm not sure how this occurred. I ask some men standing outside in Molson jackets if they know where the church is. They say they don't. That's fine. Now I want a tour of the Molson factory, even though it is offensively stinky outside. I ask for a tour and they told me either they don't have tours on Sundays or they didn't do tours at all. I say please. They say "non." I say pleeeease. They say "non." So then I'm getting a tour of the Molson factory. It is even stinkier than I expected; blah blah blah fermentation. Because they're not supposed to let anyone in, I didn't get to see much. Maybe the official tour is more interesting. I ask the guys where I can find poutine, an item that everyone told me I should try and they tell me about a little cafe up the road about a mile. I don't remember its name. I walk to the cafe and order some poutine and a beer. At this point, my roommate Omar (who I was traveling with) calls and asks where I am because he wants to go out for lunch. I pause. I say "actually, I'm not even sure I'm in Montreal anymore. But don't worry, I'll find my way back." He does not let this go. I suppose it would look bad if he came with me and 15 Senegalese men to Quebec and came back without me. I ask the waiter where I am and he says "pres de le parc d'attractions!" "Quel parc d'attractions!?" j'ai demande. Turns out the waiter got off in another hour. I drink two more beers. He has a monthly pass and we walk across a really beautiful bridge to the amusement park. We get halfway across the bridge and he starts to reconsider. It looks like it's going to rain. In the story I tell my friends, I went the amusement park with the guy because they would think it's crazy that I went by myself, but I did. What is this a review for again? Oh, right. So La Ronde. Well, when it rains you slip all over the place if you're in flip flops. I had to walk barefoot all day. I couldn't believe it was a Six Flags because everything there seemed very pared down. The roller coasters that I've been on a Six Flags parks in the US are much bigger. Lots of annoying American kids, but I guess you find that at any amusement park near America. Nothing amazing, but if you're in Montreal and regular site seeing isn't doing it for you it's not a bad idea. Tickets ran around $45. My hotel ended up being about 9 km away. I wish I could review the cab service because it was only $10 or so to get me all the way back there. By the way, does anyone know where that church is?

Yelp
Wow. I wish someone had stopped me from going here. It totally ruined my last day in Montreal. The food... don't. buy. any. Bring your own. You will end up paying $11 for soggy/half cooked fries and only a handful of them. If this happens to you and you complain in English then you are invisible. The lines are insane but that's to be expected. The issue was that the fast lane keeps going ahead at many rides without the staff letting us peasants from the normal line onto the ride - obviously this terrible system makes wait times extra long. We rode something like 8 rides all day. At Canada's Wonderland I ride them all and sometimes twice, no fast pass, my whole life. La Ronde has some serious organizational issues to tend to.

Yelp
I had a great time at La Ronde - sort of like a Six Flags in Montreal. The ticket prices (~$50) were so much cheaper than what I was used to in Florida at Disney and Universal (~$90) that it seemed like a bargain. And they had a ton of Roller Coasters! I'm a coaster junkie, so this was awesome. We got to the park around noon, and had plenty of time to ride all the coasters and a couple of other small rides before it closed. I think Vampire was my favorite, although there was a problem with it while we were standing in line, and we frustratingly watched several coasters go by with no one riding them. Le Monster was in fact a monster wooden coaster - and there are two tracks you can ride. There's two lines too. We tried to be smart and get in the line with less people in it, but we soon realized that our side was operating only one train at a time, while the other side had two going, and moved twice as fast as our line. There was another coaster - Le Cobra, and it was just awful. It jerked your head around so much that everyone we got off with was complaining of headaches. They need better head rests or something, it was redic. Goliath was a crazy coaster, like a wave - up and down over and over again, with one turn at the end to send you back. Ednor (the lochness monster?) Was a quick but fun coaster, with lots of sharp turns and inversions. It reminded me of the dueling dragons coaster at Universal in Orlando. We had a lot of junk food - beignets and poutine - at La Ronde, but nothing was incredibly memorable. Oh yeah! We weren't allowed to ride the carousel because we didn't have any kids with us - uncool! It was mostly a really fun day though. You get incredible views of downtown Montreal over the river from the top of some of the coasters, so go ride your heart out!

Yelp
The service at this place has gone downhill! Ticket price for 2 people $120 plus Platinum flash pass an extra $140! Platinum Flash Pass "supposably" reduces wait time in line. To be honest that's questionable! I feel that this pass is a scam. http://www.laronde.com/larondefr/flashpass.asp (Misleading description) Today I shelled out a total of $400 to have a great time with my kid, yet the rules seemed to change at any given time in regards to the famous Platinum Flash Pass. This bothers me, since they misrepresented the wording defined on website. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THESE PASSES WERE LIMITED! Why was I told that this was not a VIP pass and why did I have to wait in-line for certain rides? Why aren't all rides covered under the Platinum Flash Pass? I also ordered a beer, at $6.50 a beer I expect a proper pour not 3/4 foam 1/4 liquid. The drink in question was poured by a 16 year old! Being in the food industry and being familiar with the law I know that this is not legal. I plan on complaining to the http://www.racj.gouv.qc.ca. Teenagers should not be pouring alcool. Obviously Provincial RULES do not apply to Six Flags in Quebec.

Yelp
I have been here twice, once when i was really young and the second time was just last summer. The place got a few new roller coasters since the last time, but I had just as much fun as I did as a kid. Le Monstre is, I believe, the biggest wooden roller coaster in North America! We went on almost all the roller coaster and le Monstre was our favourite. If you want to go for a day at La Ronde, you want to get there really early, before the doors open and rush in when it does. You should get the tickets online before hand so your not in line to get them as others get in. The wait time for each roller coaster gets longer and longer as the day goes, so be prepared for the wait. Food is the same at any amusement park, expensive junk food. But I guess its part of the experience. Next time I am in Montreal, I am definitely going back!

Yelp
On a normal day I would describe this park as: A rather small amusement park located on an island in the city of Montreal, where the pricing is average, the rides are average, the food is average, hell the whole park is pretty much average. On Halloween however the park comes to life, with special haunted houses and people walking around in costume. The one negative thing about that is however, that you have to pay extra for the haunted houses..even when you have a season pass. Conclusion: It's alright, not a magical adventure, but it's something to do when you're bored and have the extra cash. Personally, I'd stick to only going on/around Halloween, it's way more fun.

Yelp
La Ronde ate up a significant amount of our trip out west. Although it's certainly not Canada's Wonderland, it was worth checking out. Pros: - We received a Fun Pass when we purchased our Day Passes - the lady at the ticket booth explained that the price was the same, and the Fun Pass is good until September. For this reason, we went a second time to make use of it. - Given that La Ronde is a fairly small park, it's pretty easy to navigate. - Rides worth mentioning: Vampire (I went 4 times), Cobra, Manitou, Vertigo, Bumper Cars, Demon, and a few others whose names I can't recall. - Both of our visits occurred on overcast, drizzly weekdays. This is the best time to go - lines were generally nonexistent. - Some staff members were very pleasant. Cons: - Traveling through Montreal to get to the park was a nightmare. - Ridiculously expensive to get in (parking and tickets) and to eat - just like every other amusement park in existence. - Many of the rides are really showing their age, and a significant number of attractions were shut down - some even seemed abandoned. - A few rides cost extra - we tried the Slingshot, which was $20 per person. It was fun, but not worth that much money. The Go-Karts were also extra but they were closed. - Rides not worth waiting in line for if you're an adult: Dragon. - As others have mentioned, La Ronde simply isn't designed to handle large crowds the way Wonderland is; therefore, you might end up waiting a while. - Some staff members seemed like they hated life. As always, if you're going to head to any amusement park, I'd recommend taking the whole day to really get your money's worth. With a few updates here and there, I'm sure that La Ronde could go from good to great.

Yelp
We got mad because they bumped some lady (I use the term loosely) to the front of the line when we had paid for the Flash Pass. $150! What a waste of money. So we got escorted out of the park because they said we swore haha. What a joke of a place. Awful staff, save your money and do ANYTHING else.

Yelp
I purchased a ticket on July 2019 online. I recieved an email with an e-ticket. As I wanted to enter the amusement park I waited in line until someone scanned my ticket. Me was told there was an issue with my ticket and I should go to the ticket counter on the right. So I went there and waited in line again. The person at the desk scanned my ticket and told me to go in the corner and wait there until someone comes and picks me up to check what the problem is. After a while someone came and went with me to a place with a computer. He wanted to see my credit card and my ID. So far so good. As he saw my ID he told me that I'm not from here and that might be the problem. He told me this is a standard procedure. Also he asked some inappropriate question, as what I'm doing here in Canada and why I have a Canadian phone number. So after a while he let me in. This whole procedure took about 1 hour. My problem is I payed for the ticket and I couldn't enter the park without waiting an additional hour, go somewhere in the corner and answer inappropriate questions. If they think this is fraud, why didn't they refuse the payment before? Also, there was no "sorry for that problem" or anything like that. I felt like a criminal and as I have done something wrong. That ruined totally my day and I'm really disappointed. I will visit Montreal next year again and I will avoid your amusement park. I contacted the customer service afterwards and they told me that this is a normal procedure that happens with clients 9 or 10 times a day. Thank you for stealing 1 hour!

Yelp
I understand where's all the hype for this amusement park is coming from, but I really don't think it's where it should be. First of all, this amusement park does not take debit cards, no restaurants in the entire park has a debit machine. So you're forced to go and use one of their ATM machines, turns out they ask for a $3 convenience fee, which is a load of bull, especially after you've spent $50+ to get in. The staff didn't alert us that most of the rollercoasters were closed when we purchased the tickets. When we were online, it only said that two rides were closed because an employee died at the Vampire. So we thought, it should be fine. Turns out we couldn't go on any, except for the Boomerang, Monster, and another one. We still had a great time there, given all the bad stuff that were happening at that time. But we aren't driven to go back again.

Yelp
Best to visit in August Six Flags is to California as La Ronde is to Montreal. So if you want to actually spend most of your enjoying the rides get there before noon. Best Rides: Vampire Le Monster Goliath The food is overpriced and okay tasting but what do you expect. It's a theme park. You come for the rides not the food.

Yelp
Very fun rides: I had a blast on every single ride. No exception, even if I practically let my sphincter almost released the feces I was holding in when I kept hearing scary cracking noises on "Le Monstre". 5/5 Staff: Mostly bored staff, you can tell they are bored out of their mind and they probably don't get many rotations. The problem is some staff members are incompetent. On the Cobra, I was locked too high and I didn't touch the floor. I told the guy who just ignored me and smiled at me before launching me into a ride of despair. After I got off the Cobra, at my best friend's amusement, I involuntarily walked like a cowboy for the next 10 minutes. The G-force tanked in by my crotch during those loops was atrocious! On the Orbit, I nearly had a heart attack. The guy DID NOT LOCK MY FUCKING SEAT. The top part was LOOSE. When I reached the top, the top part extended completely and the belt started slipping out as my spine stretched and extended. I FREAKED OUT so hard I almost left an aerial trail of urine in the air. Jesus Christ man, lock the damn thing properly. 1/5. Food: OH MY GOD I LOVE GETTING FAT AT LARONDE. It feels so good yet so bad but then it feels good on the tongue so it makes it okay. That's pretty much all there is to say. Fully recommending the Nutella beaver tails. (Great selection in general too but don't expect healthy stuff) 3/5 (-2 because it's expensive. Very expensive) Overall 3/5 because of the staff and poor management of the staff but the rest is pretty fun. The lines however are decently sized but SOOOOOOOOOO SLOW compared to Canada's Wonderland. They BARELY move. It's IMPOSSIBLE to go on the Goliath or the Vampire passed 12pm. Don't even try. Not worth the 2 hour wait. Try to aim it on a Wednesday before elementary school/highschool starts. A pass is not really worth the money but a seasonal pass is way worth it if you plan to go there often. La Ronde is better than some parks but much worse than many. Still love it though and still worth going there once or twice :).

Yelp
I am extremely disappointed by the customer service provided by this company. I bought a ticket online on Friday 26th August 2017 for 70CAD. When I arrived in front of the entrance of La Ronde the same day, I found out the parc was closed. Moreover, there were more people in front of the amusement parc who planned to spend their day there. Even here on Yelp it says that the parc is opened every day!! I contacted the customer service by phone and by email and they refused to give me my money back!!! I am from the Czech Republic and I was visiting Canada just for a few days. I cannot believe they took my money without providing me with service! I cannot believe this happened in CANADA, one of the most developed countries in the world. I really wouldn't expect it there. So please don't buy the tickets on their website, you might just throw the money out of your window and have a better experience!!!! They have not replied to any of my emails and the people on the phone are useless!!! Horrible!!!
