"The hearts and brains behind this budget-friendly retreat belong to the husband and wife team of Adheera Bodasing, a South African of Indian descent, and Yoann Nicolas, a Frenchman who fell in love with South Africa in his 20s. Each of the nine rooms is unique, paying homage to different cultures via art and décor collected by the couple on their travels. The property is located in the eclectic Bo-Kaap, formerly the Cape Malay quarters, neighborhood." - Katie Jackson Katie Jackson Katie Jackson is a New York City-based writer who covers travel, food, and more. This place is an absolute little gem, right in the heart of the wonderful authentic and colourful Bo-Kaap. Perfect for walking just about anywhere in the city. The hosts were brilliant, welcoming and a wealth of knowledge. We tried out almost all of their recommendations and were not disappointed. Breakfast time is key to meet you with other guests, and the hosts, to gather everyone's ideas and thoughts on what they have seen and done. Plus, breakfast is delicious homemade yoghurt, fruit, fresh bread, eggs, homemade jam, mango juice and fresh coffee which is perfect to start the day off right. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are wonderful in helping to keep the place looking great and making us feel safe and looked after! We highly recommend!

This is our second visit to La Rose run by Yoann and Adheera in colourful, central Bo Kaap. It is a gem of cultural fusion and style. Five minutes walk from some of the best restaurants in town.||There is a full breakfast where guests sit at the table together with Yoann. The conversations are wonderful and it's a great time to get advice on how to make the best of the day. Staff are friendly and share a tip box kept at reception. No need to tip individuals. Also in reception is a QR code which uses WhatsApp which links to Yoann's phone, lists of restaurants, safety advice and what to see.

Our "home away from home" in Cape Town. Beautiful and lovingly decorated rooms, a wonderful experience to have breakfast with all the other guests at the long table. Especially the presence of Yoann, Adheera and their employees (love you all, Ladies! ;-)) make this B&B the place to be, the place to remember - and the place to return to. Love and hugs from Cologne to Cape Town!

We have been repeat customers of ''La Rose'' for a long time. We are not surprised by malicious reviews because we know well that behaviours and attitudes are the mirror of the soul and mind and that reflection can be sometimes repulsive. Our beloved hosts Yoann and Adeera, please, don't pay any attention to anyone who unfairly and petty insults your humbled creation because there are people who will never be able to get rid of the accumulated garbage of their inside and there is nothing you can do about it. Always the one star they will give, will stand poor and miserable in front of the smiles, the open wide embraces and the love of the people that you have been received so far and this is priceless in life! Please, keep it up and stay transparent, with your free spirit alive and present and that unique gift of bringing people together! "La Rose" will stubbornly continue to be the blooming rose in the garden of our hearts!!!

Lovely accommodation. Close to the action of CBD but tucked away and quiet. Breakfast was very good. Yoann (one owner) and staff were very helpful and friendly. Would stay again without hesitation.

We loved our experience at La Rose and are so glad we picked this instead of a big hotel chain for our 4 nights in Cape Town. We looked forward to breakfast time every morning, where we got to meet fellow travellers at the communal table and chat with the host (withs some good advice on things to do). The location is good, walking distance from nice restaurants, cafes, shops and colourful houses of Bo Kapp (we did the walking tour which was a good experience). We rented a car and parking was convenient right in front of the B&B. Rose Street is said to be a little unsafe at night; we felt safe as soon as we went through the gates.

Our second visit. Central, colourful Bo Kaap. Wonderful hosts. Like old friends. Over a full l, tasty breakfast, owners Yoann and Adheera can advise on how best to use the day. Five minutes from great restaurants. Unique QR code links to WhatsApp, Yoann’s phone, list of restaurants, things to do and advice on safety.

This hotel is very nice and very well located! The staff has been so kind with us. Breakfast is perfect, and the room was clean. It is a small hotel which is perfect when, like us, you want to avoid the crowd. If you have a car you can park it safely. Thanks again!
