I’ve been coming back here since 2017, thanks to the hospitality of Amerigo and the Colella family. The apartments are clean, have a fridge, a kitchenette, and towels/linens provided. There is a lovely sun-deck over the sea, with steps directly into the sea (which is always calm and perfect for swimming) and a lifeguard on duty. The apartments and the deck are the perfect spot to watch the beautiful ischia sunsets. If you go, make sure you visit Amerigo’s mother, Tina’s, restaurant for some of the best Melanzane Di Parmigiana of your life, made with homegrown aubergines, tomatoes and basil! Amerigo and his family always go out of their way to make it a pleasant stay, and so we come back again and again.

We had a fantastic holiday at La Rotonda Sul Mare. Amerigo was a wonderful host. He is rightly proud of the beautiful island and informative about its history. He was always there to check in with us or to give us a lift if we needed it. We had a problem with the air-con and he had it fixed straight away. We stayed in the top apartment with 2 decent sized double rooms with balconies, kitchen, bathroom with washing machine and a private roof terrace. The breakfast was great, omeletes/eggs, tomatoes, freshly baked croissants, fruit, coffee. The location is perfect, 15 mins walk to Forio, lots of good restaurants around. No need to hire a car. Do go to the Giardini La Mortella, Poseidon or Negombo or both, and Amerigo's parents restaurant is beautiful. The are no footpaths to speak of away from the sea front so exercise caution particularly at bus stops. Buy bus tickets in tobacconists/newsagents and remember to stamp it using the machine on the bus. There are 2 well stocked shops, Dok and Euromarket within 15min walk and a mini market 10mins away. A relaxing holiday in a beautiful location. Thank you Amerigo and family.||

This place is great. The rooms are very basic but do include refrigerator and stove. But what really makes the stay enjoyable is the sun deck and the owner. The sun deck is incredibly relaxing, great view, literally steps to the sea. There is a nice stretch of water in front of the deck for swimming. It was delightful to sleep in, have a wonderful breakfast on the deck (croissants and/or omelet), then jump in the sea! Only about a 10-minute walk into Forio. Also walking distance to the Mortella Gardens. Negombo park is also close by (I actually walked there but don't recommend that because it involved walking along a busy road with no sidewalk; I'm sure a cab or bus trip would have been easy though). The owner was a very nice man who seemed genuinely interested in making my stay as good as it could be. My only regret is that I didn't spend more time there; it ended up being the highlight of my 2-week trip to Italy.

The views of the sea were amazing, the deck area was sensational. The breakfast was out of this world. The owner was a great guy very friendly can do enough for you and you had lots of free watersports like kayaking, paddle boarding boating and other great things. Overall the holiday was breathtaking and we will definitely be back there again next year.

Exceptional was the owner Amerigo & his family. We had a warm welcome and support during whole stay, felt like part of the family. He offered us as well several times free shuttle. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy, all wishes were covered. The location next to the beach and city Forio was perfect. The terrace is directly at the sea with sunbeds and direct access to the water. Only 100 m to the beach. Bus stop 300 m. We stayed in apartment 1, which has big balcony and provides everything you need for comfortable stay, including kitchen. The apartment is quite rustic, so don't expect modern design. Didn't bothered us so. We can highly recommend to stay La Rotonda!

Spent a lovely relaxing week in these comfortable apartments right on the sea in Forio. Amerigo and his family couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Amerigo was always on hand with information and suggestions for getting around and was really generous with lifts. The breakfasts and home cooked meals were fresh and really satisfying and we ended up spending most evenings on the lovely deck watching the sunsets - different every day! - drinking Aperol and delicious home made wine as it was such a quiet and beautiful spot to relax in. Home made papardelle with freshly picked porcini mushrooms were a real food highlight! The deck steps straight down in to the sea and the clean sandy beach is just a couple of minutes walk around the rotunda also. This was a perfect spot for getting around Ischia with Forio port and town only a 10 minute walk away and bus stops all over the island just up the road. We really enjoyed visits to La Mortella and Giardino Ravelli gardens and the thermal pools at Sorghetto with a boat trip to San Angelo on the way back. I would definitely recommend La Rotunda as a place to stay for the sea front location, comfortable, well equipped rooms and the wonderful warm Italian welcome from Amerigo and his lovely family. Grazie!!

We arrived after a long and stressful journey; as soon as we met Amerigo we knew that we could relax and start to enjoy our holiday. He picked us up from the hydrofoil in Forio and swept us away in his little green vehicle which was the perfect size for the narrow streets. The hospitality didn't end there - he always asked what we would be doing that day and offered a lot of helpful advice. In the evenings the terrace was the perfect place to watch the sunset. The evening meals were delicious and homecooked using homegrown vegetables, eaten alongside his homemade wine. The breakfast was great value, with freshly baked croissants and plates of fresh fruit. So much to do and see on Ischia, we could have spent much longer there. It is a truly beautiful island, and Amerigo and his family were so welcoming. Definitely highly recommended - and great value too. Thank you Amerigo, we hope to be back!

This was our second stay and we were just as enthusiastic as the first time: excellent location, walking distance to Forio and well connected with all Ischia attractions but still quiet and relaxing! Top terrace on the sea, very comfortable sunbeds, excellent meals for a full day-in-the-sun and magic sunsets. Rooms and aptmnts clean, functional and fully-equipped and most of all Amerigo and his family make you feel like a special VIP guest, anticipating your needs and helping in any situation to ensure you have the most comfortable and cosy holiday in Ischia!
