La Sabana Hotel, Suites and Apartments

Was staying here as part of a tour group. Staff is so accommodating. Only thing I was missing was a coffee maker. I asked at the front desk and they brought me one a few minutes later. Even offered me coffee as well. Very clean like most places. My son and I used the sauna a few times.

Our stay at La Sabana Hotel Suites Apartment was lovely. It is a little oasis near the stadium in San Jose. We stayed there because we were attending sporting events at the stadium. The rooms are not luxurious but very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful. There is a swimming pool, a nice restaurant and self service laundry. We would recommend it.

I am almost afraid to write this review. I don’t want to make this place so popular that I can’t stay there any more!||I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. It started at the front desk. Valentina and Enrique are amazing. There was nothing you could ask that was inconvenient for them. We had asked for a queen bed in our booking. When we got to our room, we found that we had two twin beds. That would not work for us!||We went back to the front desk to explain our situation. They were more than happy to change our room to a queen bed. ||When we got settled in, we couldn’t figure out how to turn the lights and A/C on. Back to the front desk. Luckily it was a short walk! They explained about putting the key tag in the wall slot and it would work. ||The hotel is only a two story building with no elevator. It is not a modern hotel by anyone’s definition. The rooms are small but everything is included. Our A/C unit was a bit noisy and took a little time to get used to. They physical keys for the doors. ||The breakfast crew is outstanding! They were very friendly and helpful. The coffee and milk was prepared perfectly. The service and food were excellent. ||Even the maids who cleaned the rooms couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive. Every day the rooms were prepared and cleaned for our return. ||I think the secret to the success of this hotel is its employees. They really make a good hotel into a great hotel. I highly recommend La Sabana Hotel and Apartments.

Our family stayed here a few days on vacation. It was quiet, very clean and comfortable. The facility is beautiful and the staff were very kind and helpful. They even alerted us after our stay that we left something important behind and asked if they could ship it to us. We would definitely stay here again.

Ended our trip in Costa Rica with a couple of nights stay here to relax before flying home. ||Great value for money. Rooms are a reasonable size with comfortable beds. ||Breakfast is great, lots of options and nice quality. ||Staff here are brilliant, everyone is really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Even after we had checked out and just wanted to use the facilities until we left for the airport, the team here went out of the way to help us out and make our time easy and enjoyable. ||We weren’t sure what to expect from San Jose, initially we were unsure of the area but after walking round we soon felt comfortable. The location was nice and quiet, there is a big park a stones throw away, a few restaurants around and downtown San Jose is a 30 minute walk away - with a very different vibe. ||Only downside was the lack of a kettle or coffee machine in the room (but there are facilities onsite).

Really like the decoration and how well the place was kept, the rooms are comfortable and breakfast is really good. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Just a couple of blocks from La Sabana Park, which is a great place for a morning walk or just to enjoy a little bit of nature in San José

If I traveled to CR often I would want to keep this gem to myself. Such a great hotel, but the rave would be the breakfast - AMAZING! There are several options for breakfast but you can also pick your own combination of foods. The coffee is great and even the oatmeal is something special. If you leave hungry it is your own fault. The rooms are simple but nicely decorated and spacious. We had a two bedroom suite that had an additional daybed type couch, a refrigerator and sink, maybe a stovetop, but I don’t remember for sure since we didn’t cook there. The pool was on the cold side but we did see several people swimming. It’s centrally located with some convenient restaurants in walking distance. I will definitely try to stay here again.

What a lovely hotel! The staff was very kind and helpful. The decor is fun and the pool in the courtyard is delightful. There is a very open, light filled feeling to this hotel. They have lots of fun additions, like a take one, leave one book shelf on the landing of the stairwell on the way to our room. A few blocks away is what the receptionist told us is the largest park in Costa Rica - we wandered through on our way to lunch before check-in (leaving our bags so we didn't have to haul those around!) and it was a sports themed park with a track, several walking/jogging loops, various sports fields and courts. In addition, there are lots of trees and some bathrooms (pay to use) and a playground structure for kids. Part of the reason we picked this hotel for our last night was it's proximity to the airport - still in the city, but on the northwest, making for easy travel for our early flight. They arranged a 'shuttle' which turned out to just be a taxi. Our driver was on time and we were plenty early for our flight (they recommended leaving 3 hours before our flight, but at 4am, that turned out to be too early, we were at the airport 16 min after we left the hotel and had lots of time to kill)
