La Scala - New ownership

My husband and I booked this restaurant as had taken a picture of it 10 years previous and said we must go back and try this beautiful place with the twinkling lights. 10 years later we did! We were not disappointed- the service was lovely and the host answered our questions she was so lovely and friendly. We loved the new ethos of the restaurant ‘back to earth’ and we feel it was exactly that. The music, the ambience and food was fantastic and we could tell all the food was cooked from the heart as per the introduction on the menu. The ingredients were fresh and seasonal. We loved it. We were not rushed in anyway (as some restaurants do) we felt so relaxed and happy when we left. We had the eggplant and mussels to start then the gnocchi and meatballs followed by pistachio cheesecake and tiramisu (all tasted fantastic) We met the manager who was so lovely and his passion shined through. Thank you to all who made this such a wonderful experience for us! We will be back

I visited La Scala based on glowing recommendations from my brother and sister-in-law, as well as my parents. It seems the restaurant may have changed ownership recently, as it looked slightly different to the photos they showed me – but it’s still a beautiful spot with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. They even have a very sweet dog, who we both instantly fell in love with! The waiters were friendly and welcoming, though service was a little relaxed toward the end – we weren’t given a dessert menu (not sure if they serve desserts?) and had to ask for the bill and card machine after a short wait. Not a big issue, especially if you’re happy to go with the slower pace. For starters, we shared the scallops which were absolutely delicious. For the main, we both ordered the octopus – my friend really enjoyed it, but I personally found it wasn’t quite to my taste, as it was more of a stew with potatoes. I tend to prefer grilled or barbecued octopus, so that’s on me for not asking more about the dish. There was no bartender on the evening we visited, so the drinks menu was quite limited, but they still made us a lovely mojito each, which we really enjoyed. La Scala is tucked away in a more peaceful, charming part of Ibiza Old Town, which I’d highly recommend exploring. If you do visit, I’d suggest asking the staff to explain the dishes in detail – that’s where I went a bit wrong!

The ambiance was lovely, but we had to wait over an hour even just for the starters. And when the food finally arrived, the portion sizes definitely didn’t justify the high prices. You can’t just roast an eggplant and charge over 23 euros for it :) To top it off, they accidentally spilled ”red wine “on my white handbag while serving. If you’re only looking for a nice table to sit at, this place might work but don’t expect fast service or good value for money.

Absolutely amazing restaurant 10/10! Our waiter was excellent he got us complimentary champagne and came over and explained the menu and gave recommendations. The food was delicious!! The nicest steak and lamb I have ever had. We got the crawfish curry starter too which was unbelievable. 100% will return on my next trip to Ibiza town. We relaxed vibe just what we needed.

New owners are living up to the expectations set by Joachim & Beda over the last four decades. The food was top class (prawn carpaccio followed by a wonderful Rib Eye steak). The front of house team were friendly and helpful and contributed to an atmospheric and relaxing evening in an idillyc corner of Ibiza Old Town (Dalt Vila)

Oh wow! I had the mussels with Nduja followed by the octopus and my hubby has the squid pasta. Absolutely divine, great service and a brilliant evening! Thanks Scalia!

Gorgeous restaurant with an amazing green setting and equally great food! Nothing of what we tried disappointed — all fresh and tasty, especially the Ceviche with an asian twist! 4/5 because I have forgotten my sunglasses there and tried for 3 days to call the restaurant and no one answered the phone…

Loved This Place!!! Food and Drinks were delicious & the owners are so kind🫶 Ambiente was so romantic Highly recommend it🫶 & There was a little kitten living next to the Restaurant who made it Like a Full Circle Moment for me! Seeing it jumping Around so precious🤭

The service was exceptional with just the right balance between being friendly and efficient. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. The complementary olives had an absolutely stunning flavour. They were perfectly marinated and undoubtedly the best I've ever tasted. Our group had four different starters and mains and each one of them was delicious. Very unusual for all of our party to be so impressed that they were lost for words..or just too busy enjoying the food. This would be the perfect restaurant for a romantic meal or special celebration.
