Went for a dinner while stayed in Griffith for Citrus festival. Food was delicious and great service.
The link direction on Trip advisor still takes you to the old location in city. So we booked a table by phone as it was just five minutes walk from our hotel. When we were at location we found out that the restaurant is out of town, and half an hour walk. I rang and asked to postpone booking time and we were still lucky to get the table.

Great pizzas.
I shared a couple of pizzas with a group and we all thought they were delicious. The crust was quite crispy and is not heavy on the carbohydrate. Most of the pizzas had quite a generous amount of toppings on them. The marinara pizza was quite sparce with the toppings and didn't deserve to get a feature photo on my review.
I would recommend the tiramisu for dessert. It is quite a generous size but not too heavy.

We stopped in Griffith for a night and decided to try La Scala which looked like the best of the Italian restaurants in Griffith. We were not disappointed! We had a simple meal of pizza and salad but the pizza was absolutely fabulous and vastly superior to most pizzas I have ever eaten. The crust was superb and the quality of the ingredients excellent. It was accompanied by a delicious radicchio, pear, fennel and walnut salad. It was a very superior meal and one I would love to repeat. The service was excellent and every waiter we came into contact with was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. All in all, a really enjoyable night. The rest of the menu looks great and I would highly recommend La Scala.

2 years in a row we have had our work Christmas party at La Scala.. half of everyone asked for they're steak well done.. 2 years in a row it came out rare.. (so when you're table service took away half eaten steaks this is why)... this year I had a pizza and to be completely honest I've had better pizzas from Pizza Hut it was that salty I drank about 400 litres of water when I got home... I understand the kitchen is completely flat out but try and cook the steaks a bit longer so the customer gets what they ordered....

Dropped in without booking while staying in Griffith overnight and despite being nearly full, found us a spot.
Service was excellent, young waiter happy to offer suggestions on drinks and dishes.
Food was brought to the table quickly, well presented and tasty.
Tiramisu was a standout.
Good atmosphere, decent selection in the bar and good food. Would definitely return.

Was so disappointed. Was looking forward to an Italian meal. We were rushed through or meal in 45 minutes. Had not even finished eating the garlic bread when the main meal arrived and the main was more like a child’s serving and only just warm. Said something to water who just laughed it off and sad this is what we do hear. When paying I complained and all I got was sorry. Will never go back. Will stick with clubs from now on. Better value.

There was a short walk from town to get to La Scala and it's more than worth it!!
After opening the front door there was a warm and welcoming atmosphere of a surprisingly packed restaurant for a Tuesday night. The staff quickly found me a seat, in spite of the fact I hadn't booked.
The staff were endlessly helpful, amazingly friendly, and arrived exactly when needed.
I ordered a Pizza and, thanks to the woodfired oven and great chefs, the best pizza in Griffith arrived at my table less than 10 minutes later.
My only disappointment was that I didn't have room for any dessert as I was silly enough to order a large pizza, but that's hardly the restaurants fault.
If anyone at La Scala ends up reading this, I want to thank you for the wonderful meal I had. I will be back!!
