Google
This location is my favorite. Excellent food and outstanding service. The pastries are phenomenal and so much to choose from. Limited vegan options but the avocado toast is great. Fluffy egg sandwich with a good amount of filling hits the spot. Smoothest cold brew too! Ample outside seating and crispy coke fountain soda is worth mentioning!

Had breakfast at La Segunda this morning before heading to a Bucs football game. We arrived at 1020 am and it was not packed. You order your food at the register and then take your seat. The young lady at the register was friendly. We received our food pretty quickly. We ordered a breakfast ham and cheese sandwich. The Cuban bread was soft yet crunchy. We were too full to eat the papa relleno, pastelito, or chicken empanada so we took them to go. There are Togo plates at the exit to easily grab. The restaurant was clean and well kept. My husband’s only complaint was that it didn’t seem like anyone spoke Spanish and it’s a Cuban restaurant.

Google
We loved this place. We had a small Cuban sandwich and a breakfast sandwich and cafe con leche. The food was excellent. The service was great. The staff was friendly. We ordered at the counter in the left as you walk in. They have us a number and asked it name. Our coffee came from the counter on the right and they called my name. The food came out based on the number. I want to try every sandwich on the menu.

I have been in Tampa for a long time now and had never visited the famous La Segunda Bakery. We wanted to sit down and eat so we chose the Kennedy Avenue location over the original location due to that. The place is very ample and spacious with plenty of tables and seats. The booth was comfortable, but I do have to say that the floor and some of the tables were not very clean. Debris and other items strewn about. That being said, the food was excellent, and well worth it. I would definitely come back here.

Google
This is lovely place to be. Their pastries look so good when you come in the store. It is easy and simple to order. They will give you the number. It is a little confusing because you have to listen to the number when they called out. You have to go to the bar to pick up your coffee or drink from the barista. Then you have to listen to your number again because this person will bring out the foods and call out the number to find you. That's why we were so confused. Also the parking is very limited because some parking space are 15 minutes limit. But I do enjoyed the pastries and the cafe con leche.

Google
La Segunda Bakery and Cafe on Kennedy Ave is absolutely amazing! The Ham and Swiss sandwich was fresh, perfectly pressed, and loaded with flavor, while the Media Noche was the real star—soft, sweet bread packed with savory ham, Swiss, pork, salami, pickles, and their signature sauce. The quality and authenticity in every bite make this place a true Tampa treasure. Fast, friendly service and a welcoming vibe keep us coming back for more. If you’re craving classic Cuban sandwiches and pastries, this spot is a must-visit!

Google
South Tampa prices, but not the cleanliness or quality that should command. $20.81 for a Cuban, small drink and chips. 15% tip. Don’t know why anyone would tip more at cafeteria but that was the lowest option. One half of the sandwich was missing 25% of the bottom bread. Meat is still higher quality than most Cuban places. But $21 and that’s the quality. Plus the restrooms are destroyed. Out of paper towels, trash over flowing. Mopped yesterday. Maybe.

Google
OMG had to have a Cuban sandwich while in Tampa. and La Segunda is the place to come get one. It was oh so delicious with just the right amount of meat. Yes, and had to get a flip gauva turnover for later... yummy 😋

Yelp
I love the food Good servicenice people, very clean, am very happy with this bakery

Yelp
I absolutely love La Segunda Bakery! It's probably my favorite bakery in Tampa and definitely a spot I've missed since moving out of Tampa. I've had their breakfast sandwiches, Cuban sandwiches, media noche sandwiches, salads, and several pastries. They never disappoint! Their guava and cheese pastries are top notch. They also make the tastiest café con leche, just like my Abuela makes. I always make sure to grab a loaf (or two) of Cuban bread when I stop in. They have the best Cuban bread in town! Staff members are friendly and helpful. Vibes are chill and relaxed. Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Give them a visit, you won't regret it!

Yelp
We stopped by La Segunda in Tampa and tried four different items -- every single one was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth it. * Avocado Toast:Perfectly toasted Cuban bread layered with creamy avocado, sun-dried tomato paste, and a little kick of crushed red pepper. Simple but packed with flavor, a great lighter option. * Breakfast Sandwich:Hot, pressed, and super satisfying! The Cuban bread holds fluffy scrambled eggs, melty cheese, and crispy bacon, everything you want in a breakfast sandwich. * Guava Cheese Pastry:Buttery, flaky, and filled with the perfect balance of sweet guava and creamy cheese. Easily one of the best pastries in Tampa! * Cuban Sandwich :A classic done right, layers of roast pork, ham, salami, Swiss cheese, pickles, and special sauce, all pressed to perfection. Every bite was incredible. The service was quick, and the food came out hot and fresh. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast or lunch, La Segunda never disappoints. Definitely a Tampa gem!

Yelp
When in the area, I always want to stop in here for a Cuban sandwich after being able to attend a Elite Experience some time ago and getting the chance to try one. I love that the sandwiches are made to order so you're able to adjust your order to your personal likes and they come out nice and hot. The sizes are great to the cost amount too. During my recent visit, we got 3 sandwiches to go and only had about a 5 minute wait time. Once in the car, my Dad could smell the sandwiches and dug into his on the way back to his place. He got the ham and cheese (simple man) and loved how juicy and fresh everything was. So unfair cause I had to drive and with the bread being pressed, kinda makes a mess. I will say that though we only had to go to Town 'N Country, my sandwich bread had started to get a little soggy on the sides from the steam and wrap it was rolled into but no big deal. Given the option, I would eat them there or maybe at least half.

Yelp
It was busy on a Sunday morning but don't regret coming. Our sandwiches were good, fesh and hot. Pastries look so good but didn't get anything the first time. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, it's cozy.

Yelp
So much to see and eat here. I don't live too close but I would come often if I did. My sister and I stopped in for some pastries. They were pretty good. Large seating capacity for lunch also.

Yelp
This has become a regular stop for breakfast and/or lunch when in the St Pete/Tampa area. This location is close to the airport and route to St. Pete where we were headed for business. The Cuban bread and breakfast sandwiches and pastries are great, and the coffee by far surpasses any of the hotel offerings. It is a fairly small local chain with the original bakery over in Ybor city (I believe) but this location is typically more convenient on a major artery between Tampa, St. Pete, and the airport. It is a great choice for a quick breakfast, lunch, and coffee. I do not believe I have ever had anything here that I have not enjoyed.

Yelp
Best cuban sandwich ever! Also quick service and nice people !! Very cordial and friendly

Yelp
Everyone here is a very nice. My sandwich was great. They only gotten pastries here before, but I'll definitely be back for some more sandwiches.

Yelp
I lived in Tampa on two occasions when I visit I am a HUGE fan of Cuban breakfast sandwich. I have likely driven by this shop many times before but on this occasion I decided to stop in for break and coffee. First the baked goods, well I do not have pictures of the seemingly endless cases of freshly baked Cuban sweet treats the scene was something sweet lover's dreams are made of, over sized turnovers, flakey treats lined the glass cases. I ordered a sausage , egg, and cheese sandwich and large Cafe Con Leche. The sausage was a little disproportional to the egg and bread ratio, the bread was perfectly made and the coffee perfectly sweetened. The only downside is limited parking and the wait but I found out they have online orders. As I visited the Columbia restaurant for a Cuban sandwich for dinner I was pleased to find out they also use bread supplied by La Segunda Bakery!

Yelp
I recently came here for breakfast. Here's what I thought. Atmosphere: The bakery is simply decorated with odes to its original location in Ybor. When you enter, on the left you can order food to go or dine in. On the right side, they have a coffee bar where you can sit and enjoy a coffee. They also have an area where you can pick up any food delivered. They also have a nice outdoor covered seating area. Restroom: They have a single stall bathroom. I didn't check it out while I was there. Service: Everyone I encountered was super friendly! Food: I ordered a breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It was freshly made on Cuban bread. It was sooo good. I also got a cappuccino which was delicious! They also have a display case where you can buy fresh pastries and Cuban bread! La Segunda is a great place to come for an affordable, quick and delicious breakfast or lunch. If they were on the way to work, I'd stop in here for coffee! I'll definitely be back. Yelp
Every time I'm craving a Cuban sandwich, this is one of the places I go. Their Cuban sandwich is so good! With crispy bread, juicy pork and just the right mix of salsas. The Media Noche is also amazing, especially if you like softer, slightly sweet bread. And I really love their Café con Leche it's literally just what you need to start the day right. The vibes here are always great and the service is super friendly but Just a heads-up: it gets crazy busy in the mornings and on weekends so parking can be a hassle. But honestly, totally worth it. If you're looking for one the best Cuban sandwiches in Tampa, this is the place for you!

Yelp
I was in town for the Indycar race and it has been 20+ years since I lived in the Tampa Bay area. I asked my friend if we could get a good Cuban sandwich while visiting. It's one of those things that just doesn't transfer well from state to state. Kind of like a good Philly cheesesteak or a perfect gyro. On our way to the house from the airport we stopped at the La Segunda Bakery and Cafe. There was a stack of Cuban bread that greater me as I entered. I kinda got excited just with that to be honest. Good Cuban bread isn't found much up north. We grabbed several of the pressed Cuban sandwiches to go and the remainder of the drive was difficult to say the least. The fresh pulled pork and mustard was pretty much heaven. I think I smiled for a couple hours after diving into this sandwich. I miss them so much. Absolutely a great sandwich and something that is worth enjoying whenever possible.
google avatar

Amanda T.

Yelp
I have la segunda Cuban bread all the time because I buy it at Publix and it's delicious! Today was the first day I went into the restaurant to eat a meal. I got the media noche, which was on a different type of bread. It had plenty of meat but the bread was so sweet that it was overpowering. It felt like a dessert sandwich somehow. The sandwich was fairly small and $13 as well. Not worth the price point and a little disappointing
google avatar

Connie B.

Yelp
The BEST Cuban sandwich ever. The bakery goods I had were delishes. Order at counter then they bring it to you. Cafe-type atmosphere. Separate coffee counter.
google avatar

Steven B.

Yelp
Outstanding bakery and food. I loved my Cubano. One of the best Ive ever had. Full bakery with delicious patties. I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't evaluate the coffee but the place seems authentic. If the coffee is anything like the food it must be good. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Karen I.

Yelp
Food wasn't anything special for breakfast and there was hair baked into the bread of our breakfast sandwich. We ordered a slice of the 5-layer chocolate cake to go. It was super dry and old. Honestly very disappointing
google avatar

Stephanie F.

Yelp
We both loved the fire bird sandwich. Neither of us liked the ham croquettes, but we both liked the flavor of the chicken empanada, but it was cold. We both liked the guava flip pastry. We would go back to try the Cuban sandwich and get another fire bird sandwich. We also loved the pineapple soda! This location is very convenient to stop at if you need a meal before flying into or out of TPA.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best cuban sandwich of my life. The service was friendly and quick. The sandwich came out in 5 mins or less. Lunch time crowd was busy. Can't wait to try all the other sandwiches. Also had many Cuban apps and pastries.
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
I came here for brunch with a friend and I had was shocked at the affordability of the menu, the variety of the menu/bakery, and the quality of the cuban bread. The avocado toast was so flavorful yet simple, and I split the toast with a friend so with the toast and a pastry, it was the perfect brunch serving to satisfy a savory and sweet tooth. I am already regretting not trying the tried and true cuban toast with butter. I will be back.

Yelp
We were in the area checking out some furniture stores. Needed lunch. This bakery popped upon Yelp. I had an excellent Cuban sandwich and his turkey one was good too. Everything made fresh. Good looking baked goods too.
google avatar

Arnoldo B.

Yelp
We really like the baked good. They also have one of the better Cuban sandwiches in Tampa. It's well worth a stop.

Mike G.

Yelp
I was told to try out this Cuban cafe and all I can say is that I was not disappointed one bit! I sat at the bar and was attended to quickly. Beth was very nice and helpful, she also greeted me with a big smile. I had ordered a cafe con leche, which she had made, and it was perfect! It was a great first experience thanks to Beth. Can't wait to come back and try something new!

Yelp
La Segunda is a 20473839/10. Their bread, their baked goods, and their sandwiches are out of this world. They're one of the best in the area for a reason! I highly recommend to everyone that I know, so I couldn't not review it here too.

Alberta J.

Yelp
definitely a must visit one in the Tampa area. Fast, hot fresh food, and delicious coffee!
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
You had me at Cuban sandwich:) La Segunda is a Tampa institution. Firing out amazing food for over a 100 years, the central bakery in Ybor may be the original but this location is an even more convenient spot for parking and seating. We got the classic cuban sandwich ($12) and guava + cheese pastry ($3), moreeee than enough to share for 2 people. It's just savory goodness I'm pressed bread, you can never go wrong. If you get there early enough, do yourself a favor and get some of that fresh bread and baked goods.
google avatar

Yelp
I read such great reviews on this place that I was honestly disappointed that we did not enjoy our experience. My partner and I decided to try a bit of everything and agreed it was not worth the price point or quality. We tried the cortado, papa rellena, croquetas, guava and cheese pastries, quesitos, and the Cuban sandwich. The restaurant is nice and open with outdoor seating and a cute coffee bar. There was quite a bit of customers but the food came quickly; we were super excited to dive in but the pastries were very cold, pretty stale with the guava and cheese having a grainy taste that didn't taste good. Before we got our food, I had asked if we could get the pastries warmed up but was told they don't do that because the pastries get very hard. We were not a fan of the croquetas nor the papa rellena because it was also cold and lacking in flavor. My partner's coffee was also pretty watery and tasted like milk and sugar. The Cuban sandwich was most disappointing because it did not have much filling and the bread was stale. Box of Cubans has a much better Cuban. Overall, I'd give La Segunda another try at another location but for the price point, it just did not live up to the hype.

Jacqueline F.

Yelp
The best Cuban bread in Tampa; supplying a variety of restaurants in the area. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
First, let me say, I think I ordered the wrong thing, but nonetheless, let's talk about it. It was breakfast time and I was craving Avocado Toast. I saw that La Segunda had an Avocado and Egg sandwich and I added bacon. I know this restaurant is an old classic for Tampa so I had to stop by. They miss the mark on this menu item, but I wouldn't completely right them off. The Cuban bread is top tier for sure. I, in fact, ditched the middle just to eat the bread by the time I ate the second half. Here's my opinion about the sandwich as a whole. It has wayyyyy too much of the sun dried tomato paste. It took over the whole sandwich and taste like pizza bread and not an avocado breakfast sandwich. I could barely taste anything else. I forgot it had avocado and bacon on it as it got lost with all that tomato paste. The egg only gave it texture, though it was nice and fluffy. The bread was the only thing that saved me from throwing it away and the price...Ha! The iced Cafe con Leche was also a savior as I do recommend getting a cup! I do believe that their classic Cuban and pastries are probably the bigger seller, but I'll have to return another time. Try it out, but don't get what I order unless you just love tomato paste.
google avatar

Maiken S.

Yelp
The best Cuban bread in town, hands down. The staff is always very kind and it's a great location to snag breakfast before work or meet for lunch.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Almost done with my food before they brought me my coffee. Prices were also a bit high
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Flew into Tampa from Boston on my way to Orlando and I needed lunch. I had recently heard about this place through social media so I thought I would give it a shot. I knew I was getting a Cuban sandwich but wasn't sure which pastry to get. I asked a nice woman working in the bakery what I should get and she was nice enough to offer what her favorites are. The Cuban was near perfection. The bread is crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. The pork meat was tender and flavorful. The ham was ham, but it was gooooood. The perfect amount of pickles, and the sauce was delicious. The sauce was a mustard mayo mix. Everything just worked. I hope I get back here again. I picked the pastries based on the recommendation, A guava turnover and a quesito. I saved these for later and figured out I am not a fan of guava. The quesito is filled with like a creamy cheese filling and it was amazing.
google avatar

Presleen E.

Yelp
I found this place for breakfast which was close to my Airbnb and decided to try it out and I'm glad I did outside seating was pretty full and inside was the same they have to places to order one for just coffee and the other for food let me say there pastries looked very I need them all kind of vibe. There service was quick and easy process didn't take long at all for my food. Stop on in and share your experience
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
great atmosphere, great cubans and the cuban coffee cafe on leche is awesome also got the guava cheese turnover. YUM
google avatar

Don R.

Yelp
Stopped while in Tampa we were looking for somewhere close with a Cuban bakery looked it up and this popped up. I wouldn't 100% say it's a traditional Cuban bakery, but they do provide a lot of the same product. This location is more of a neotraditional Cuban bakery we ordered the Cuban sandwich which was amazingly really good Packed with flavor and very well-made. We also had a cafe con leche and took some pastries for the trip home, there was definitely a lot of different items on the menu that I would love to try in the future so it's on my list to return and give it a go. Service was prompt. There wasn't many people waiting and we got our order within five minutes of placing it. All the staff was friendly. The location gives you a café style ambience with smaller tables to sit at by the window and enjoy the sun. It did also have a few bigger tables that you can put together for larger parties
google avatar

Rosemary S.

Yelp
The food was good, I enjoyed my fruit and muffin. The coffee was great my husband had the breakfast plate. Only complaint was the cheese wasn't melted on the egg. It's self service, ordering at a counter. Cute place, good vibe.
google avatar

Todd P.

Yelp
Great food and the pastries/cales looked delicious but wasn't able to try. The breakfast sandwich is HUGE and contains three eggs. Their Americano coffee is spot on. Very reasonable prices. I will be coming back when in Tampa bc I want that cinnamon roll. Haha.
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Amazing quick Cuban spot! The bread is so good. The pastries are delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with anything. Definitely check it out!
google avatar

Luis Z.

Yelp
Great breakfast place I really enjoyed the convination. Ingredients feast, bread warm a. Toasted... jam was delicious, like the coffee as well a
google avatar

Danyelle U.

Yelp
The avocado sandwich is the perfect choice for breakfast! The bread is always fresh and crunchy, pretty sure they're made in house. The pastries here are great, especially the guava and cheese. And the cafe con leche is amazing. If you're looking for a good Cuban spot la segunda is great id you're eating in. I've ordered to go a handful of times and have had missing items so be sure to check
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Its a tampa tradition. Best cuban bread. We had to have a Cuban which was excellent. They have a nice bakery too.

P S.

Yelp
Good sandwiches and pastries but the 2 women at the coffee bar needs serious customer service training. Chit chatting among themselves while tickets pile up for coffee; no sense of urgency, pulling one espresso at a time while there are multiple orders? The one at the espresso machine took the time to unbox milk , talking about her kid to the other one, while people were waiting for their order. Very unprofessional!
google avatar

Caitlin M.

Yelp
I finally got to check out La Segunda Café on Kennedy this past weekend, and I'm very glad I made the visit. The atmosphere truly made it seem like I was in Ybor, without having to drive all the way over there. They had 2 people working the register, so the line moved pretty quickly. I ordered the guava and cream cheese pastry and an iced Cuban latte. I was disappointed that they would not heat up the pastry for me. I feel like that should be a standard option at any café or bakery. Also, the guava and cream cheese was not spread out enough in the pastry, so there were bites with too much and bites with not enough. The coffee was really good though and perfectly sweet. They also have a nice outdoor area to sit as well, but it was raining.
google avatar

Yelp
I am now realizing I didn't post my review!! It's been a year since we first moved to Tampa and discovered the best cuban bakery in Tampa! Coming from Miami(cuba 2.0) it was difficult finding some small little home comfort. La Segunda is second to none! The cuban sandwiches are always great!!! Always not some times, most of the times, nope always! Pastelito de guayaba y queso que rico!! The 3 ft long cuban bread is unlike any I've ever had! Trust me when I tell You It's the best tasting and texture by far! Miami Gots great cuban food don't get me wrong but.. this is spot in Tampa is rockstar status!! Lol . Service is super friendly from the young upbeat staff. Orders are out in a timely manner and food is delicious. Must must try spot in Tampa. Love the outside and inside seating option under-shade. Sit outside with our doggie.
google avatar

Dena B.

Yelp
A Tampa staple. The best Cuban bread in the world!! Great coffee selection too. Prices are very reasonable.

Tim C.

Yelp
Had some time to kill in Tampa near Kennedy and found this awesome bakery! Stopped here for lunch and understood why it was so busy. The food is awesome! We ordered a Tampa Cheesesteak, Cuban and 2 meatball sandwiches. They were good size (option for 6 or 9 inch) and full of flavor. Kids enjoyed the meatball on Cuban bread. That pressed crispness made different from other meatball sandwiches. Cuban was very good. Lots of pulled pork that was tasty with ham and salami. The salami added a nice kick and made this Cuban unique. Definitely recommend. The Tampa cheesesteak was voted best by our family. Lots of steak with an awesome fire sauce that made the sandwich. We will get this one again. The Cuban bread was so fresh and good on the sandwiches. We got dessert to go with the Boston cream. Apple turnover and guava cheese turnover. All were very big portions with great taste. Guava cheese was best and highly recommend. Inside has lots of tables along with coffee on one side. Sandwiches and pastry on other side. They do have some outdoor seating available as well. Parking is a bit crazy, but once you get a spot run in and get your grub.
google avatar

Paris T.

Yelp
I absolutely enjoyed my visit here for lunch and I'm really glad I decided to come by. My husband and I shared a Cuban sandwich, Boston cream pie and cafe con leche. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. We dined in and there is a lot of seating available plus a coffee bar area. Parking was no issue. I ended up coming back another day to get a tres leche from their bakery case and it was delicious as well!
google avatar

Hector F.

Yelp
This place is a must when in Tampa! I will be coming back to get a cubana again!! The Cuban sandwich was so good! The guava con crema was amazing! So worth the lunch wait! The service was great! She was so patient with my wife's questions !
