Awesome hostel! The location is away from Salento center so it’s quiet, the view is more than amazing! The vibe is so relaxed... a place to relax, not to precisely have fun. The campfire was amazing. The bad thing is that they charge you for water, and water should never be sold. Kitchen is very basic, very slow to cook anything. Besides that, it’s a great place to stay. The location kills any possible bad experience. 9 out of 10 stars.

Loved this place! It has a great vibe and it's very easy to meet people (and dogs) in one of the many common areas. The 20 minute walk from the town didn't bother us at all and is safe even at night. We stayed at one of the tents. The view is truly amazing and the tent was pretty cheap, although it could use an update (it was a bit moldy/smelly and the zip was broken, so there was no way of closing it and keeping the mosquitoes out). The shared toilets and showers were quite new and very clean, though the showers do run out of hot water quickly

Beautiful place, extremely cool and easy to hang out and relax. There's a kitchen to use, and the beds are comfy. I came in quite late, and had no problem checking in without a booking, even though the reception was closed. The dinner they offer is really good too, and the breakfast included is actually a breakfast with more than bread and jam. You can buy extra stuff as smoothies and yoghurt if you wish. It's a bit of a walk from the town though.

We stayed a total of 3 nights in La Serena. This hostel can be reached by foot (20 minutes) or by Jeep (5 minutes) from Salento's main plaza. It's a little paradise away from the agitated center: the landscape is mesmerizing and offers great sunset opportunities plus bird watching. The breakfast (included) is really nice and one can order delicious extras (juices, fruit salads...). I can't recommend enough a tour of their beautiful little garden!

Me and my boyfriend stayed there several nights and loved it so much we decided to come back and chill there after our Los Nevados hike. The hostel is slightly out of town (20min walk or a 6,000 pesos jeep ) which means is surrounded by nature and great views. They have a large outside space full of plants and places to relax, the house where the rooms are has a few different areas to read a book or chat with others - feels super homely! Breakfast is free ( banana, eggs, bread, coffee/tea ) any extras you pay a bit. We loved the pancakes! The staff are lovely and very very helpful. The only downside would be the kitchen needs more cutlery and cookware but thats really it. Would highly recommend it for a few days!

A little corner of paradise, with helpful and really good people working there. Everything is open there are no keys in the doors (of course u have a loker), I felt secure. I've been there in new-year time, the hostel was full but quiet, there is a lot of space, u can Also camp... Even if for me is a bit cold :) but no too much we ate always in Colombia! The free breakfast is really good, fresh eggs, banana and bread all prepared on the fly, I can have extras like bacon, veggies, fruit and much more! There is a kitchen as well so u can cook for the other meals. I really enjoyed my time there.

This hostel is perfect for chillin arond the campfire, drinking, talking & playing music (which there is every night). It is not a "party hostel", but people still go out together. The actual property & views of hills from La Serrana are absolutely gorgeous. Keep in mind, it is a 15-20 min walk from town (Salento itself isn't that great, so don't worry). Sometimes when you do want to go into town, but don't want to walk, there aren't any taxi jeeps available right away, which can cause a bit of a wait. There are nightly family style dinners - INCREDIBLE FOOD all around - but they need at least 10 people to sign up before 4pm that day. It's about $17k COP, but it's family style, so as much as you can eat :) The breakfast is so delicious! There are add-on's to the breakfasts as well, for a small additional fee (smoothies, granola, pancakes, bacon). Vale la pena - so worth it! In the hostel, tons of common areas to socialize & meet others. The wifi cuts out, so that was a bit irritating. The kitchen is spacious & well-stocked. Front desk staff is so friendly & so helpful. Beds are great, outlets are scarce. Also a huge storage room to keep your stuff if you go trekking for a few days. Bathrooms are clean! Reception closes @ 9pm though, so if you want to buy water or drinks from the fridge after that time, you cannot. Security does not have the keys. It's really annoying. However, I always recommend this hostel to everyone who travels to Salento. Great job! Nos vemos!

This hostel was very comfortable with views absolutely to die for. We arrived very late at night due to a missed flight but there was someone there waiting for us which made it very easy. The provided breakfast is delicious and there is the option for many additions at an extra cost. If I am back in Salento I will definitely be staying at La Serrana.
