La Siesta Classic Hang Thung, Hanoi, Vietnam - Explore & Book

"Among the criss-crossing lanes that make up the Old Quarter, Hang Thung Street has long been a destination in itself. It it was once lined with barrel-makers and vendors selling humble goods, from handcrafted furniture to fish sauce by the bucket load. Those traditional traders have since been replaced by fashion boutiques and fragrant restaurants, yet the street remains a hive of activity where cultures converge and senses are invigorated. Despite sharing a neighbourhood with sister Classic Ma May, this hotel is no carbon copy. Much like the street on which it sits, Classic Hang Thung has forged its own contemporary identity, designed to be a haven of cool sophistication and respite from the buzz outside. The 70 rooms and suites are pared back and calming, with vintage-inspired rattan furnishings and polished parquet flooring. There's a spa and courtyard pool, flanked by luscious foliage, for melting away the aches and pains of the urban explorer. Meanwhile, the restaurant and library bar provide a sophisticated end to the day, serving up high-class Vietnamese-fusion fare and cocktails. And if you should need anything else, be it train travel or guided tours, the charming staff are armed with the know-how to make your time in Hanoi a breeze. Highs Brilliant location in the heart of the Old Quarter, a short walk from top sights like Hoan Kiem Lake and Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre Staff are kind and attentive, getting to know you by name and always on hand to help The plant-fringed heated pool with mood lighting and Jacuzzi jets was just what I needed after my long journey to Hanoi - pure bliss We couldn't wait to dig into the varied and delicious breakfast buffet each morning Cool, clean rooms that suit all budgets Lows Larger than most hotels in our collection but the service here and at its sisters in Hoi An and Saigon always feels personal Some of the rooms don't have windows or look onto a wall Room décor feels a tad bland compared to the sleek design that runs through the rest of the hotel There are no loungers by the pool, only built in seating in the water and some chairs in the dressing room - no issue during our winter stay but may be annoying in the summer" - Alice Tegg

Perfect location. You can have the best of both worlds. Staff is incredibly kind, speak many languages and are incredibly helpful with any needs or questions that you may have. You are RIGHT IN THE CENTER of action in old town Ha Noi! You can literally walk outside and find local food and shops within a few feet of the hotel and get swept up in the fast paced energy of motorbikes and day to day life in Viet Nam. Coming home to the hotel, walking inside, you are immediately calmed down by a quiet luxurious environment as all sounds from the street fade away. This hotel truly gives you both the yin and the yang. Perfect stay. As seasoned travelers, we have learned as a general rule of thumb, to avoid the hotels on site restaurants. DO NOT AVOID THIS ONE! Amazing views of the city and amazing cuisine. The breakfast buffet is the best we have ever had at any hotel we have visited. Do not miss it. We love that they served amazingly delicious local dishes early in the am, as well as continental favorites. Bread, eggs and sausage get extremely boring. They have SO MUCH MORE. I had pho for breakfast every morning, as they have a chef standing next to a noodle bar with stock, different cuts of meat and herbs and all of the delicious authentic Ha Noi noodle accoutrements. They have so many more savory treats that you wouldn’t expect at a breakfast buffet, as well. I truly looked forward to breakfast/brunch every morning before we headed out to explore. I still miss it! Kudos to the chef and the staff. My wife said your Vietnamese coffee was the best. I also liked eating a banh mi sandwich for breakfast at 6AM everyday. Breakfast is included with your stay and the restaurant is very elegant. |The outdoor pool feels like a tropical oasis retreat in the middle of a very loud and busy old town square. This place rules.|Do yourself a favor and book this hotel!

The staff are very accommodating and polite, always greeting guests with a warm smile. We’re a family of four traveling together, and they even gave us great recommendations for tourist spots and local food places. They also made sure to ask how our breakfast was each morning. The hotel’s location is excellent — just a short walk to food stalls, souvenir shops, and the lake, which is a beautiful attraction. It was my first time traveling abroad, and their exceptional service made me want to come back to Hanoi to relax again with a cup of Vietnamese coffee and a banh mi.

Overall the best hotel we’ve stayed at in VN! - add on: Pick up service waited for us for 1.5hrs due to immigration delays, he had no complaints at all. - This is one of the few hotels in the area with two elevators for 11 floors (most only have 1). - Lobby smells nice all the time. Pool is ok the water doesn’t smell like chlorine and it’s not itchy. - Towels pillows bed blankets even the tissue paper, ALL PERFECT. - wardrobe has a built in light, rooms are well decorated Breakfast has a lot of options and they’re the only ones with soy milk options for coffee. They have crazy salad options and even have a few cheeses and cold cuts. Door man is very nice and polite. Restaurant and front desk ladies are very very friendly, they guided us with our trip (money changer, pasalubong etc) Had the best time in this hotel - highly recommended if you want good sleep and great breakfast options!

I stayed at La Siesta Classic Hang Thung and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was beautiful and well-maintained, with a great location close to everything yet still peaceful. I also really appreciated the thoughtful birthday greeting on the bed — such a nice touch that made me feel special! The room was cozy and nicely designed, though the air conditioning could’ve been a bit colder. The pool was lovely, and I especially liked that the water temperature was just right. The gym was quite small and a bit dark, but still good enough for a quick workout. The breakfast was amazing — great variety and delicious food to start the day. And the staff truly made the stay memorable — always smiling, friendly, and very helpful throughout. Overall, a great stay and I’d happily recommend La Siesta Classic Hang Thung to anyone visiting Hanoi!

I had an amazing stay at La Siesta Classic Hang Thung, and I want to give special thanks to Tram Nguyen for her exceptional kindness and care — not only before my stay but also after I checked out.||She was always warm, attentive, and thoughtful. Thanks to her, I even received a free room upgrade, and the room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable — truly the best among all the hotels I stayed at during my trip!||On my departure day, the hotel arranged a smooth drop-off service to the airport, and Tram even prepared some delicious snacks for my night flight. That small gesture made me so happy and touched.||I’ll definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends who plan to visit Hanoi. Thank you again to Tram Nguyen for making my trip unforgettable. 💖

I just had to write this review after my second stay at the La Siesta Hang Thung. To be honest, a huge reason I even booked here again was because of one person: Ms. Quynhh Ho. From my first visit, her incredible service stuck with me. She has this amazing ability to make you feel so welcome and personally cared for, and I’m happy to say that this time was no different. She’s a true gem. Every single interaction, whether with the front desk, the dining staff, or the spa, was so pleasant and warm. It just feels good to be there. This place is more than just a comfortable bed and a nice room (though it has those too!). It’s the entire experience that makes a trip to Hanoi so special. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The best kept secret in Hanoi. The hotel is excellently managed and centrally located. Really well isolated from the cities noise. The staff is super accommodating, friendly and efficient. Quin made our stay exceptional, she was very hospitable and helpful. The morning buffet offers both an international & traditional breakfast. The Spa facility and treatment were very professional.
