La Siesta Classic Ma May, Hanoi, Vietnam - Explore & Book

"Don’t be fooled by the term ‘Old Quarter’ – it thrums with life whatever the weather. In the heart of the hubbub is Ma May Street (pedestrianised at weekends, when musicians and entertainers take over) and La Siesta. Chaos reigns outside, but the moment the bellboy ushers you into this superb little boutique hotel, peace and tranquillity are restored. It's the best location you could wish for. Inside, the décor is traditional western with Asian touches. Stagger into the spa on arrival and glide out feeling revived (the massages are sublime). There’s also a lounge, a bar, a cinema room, and an excellent Vietnamese restaurant, which makes a refreshing change from the local street-style cafes. The 64 rooms and suites, in varying sizes and spread across 12 floors, have super-comfortable beds and tip-top showers, plus sound-proofing to buffer noise; some have terraces, too. As for breakfast, it’s a buffet-style feast, replete with Asian and western dishes. But what really sets this hotel apart are the staff. Attentive and charming, they’re there the minute you need them, with tickets for tours, vouchers for trains, cots or cocktails, umbrellas, and restorative cups of ginger tea. Highs Right in the heart of the Old Quarter, which is exactly where you want to be, and only 5 minutes' walk from Hoan Kiem Lake with its island temple The service – professional yet personal – is outstanding A serene spa with a sauna and an excellent range of treatments The restaurant is excellent and the rooftop Sky Bar has some of the best views in the old quarter Family-friendly, with connecting bedrooms, extra beds, cots and babysitters Lows The street-facing rooms can be slightly noisy at weekends Standard traditional décor – though the suites are luxurious No views to speak of, apart from the top suites Duplex Suites have tight spiral stairs No pool" - Ben Reed

Just left this hotel and have to say it’s every bit as good as the reviews state. I don’t usually post a review unless I go somewhere exceptional or somewhere not great to warn other travellers. ||This place is worthy of the exceptional category. Right in the middle of the old quarter which is a bit daunting when you first arrive. More like a boutique hotel as the service is very personal. Ann who looked after us on arrival was fantastic and greeted you by name every time she saw us during the 4 day stay. ||The room was great and if you feel like treating yourself go for one of the suites with a balcony it’s a great chill out spot. Air con, WiFi all top notch and most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for years. ||If this place was in London it would be ten times the price and they would be able to reproduce the service levels. ||Based on this experience booked the same chain in Saigon for the last leg of our trip.

I had an amazing 5 night stay at La Siesta Classic Ma May, with a short trip to Sapa in between. For my return, they upgraded me to a Junior Suite at their sister property, La Siesta Hang Thung, just a few minutes away, thoughtful gesture! The airport transfers I booked through them were smooth and reliable both ways. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and helpful from the moment I arrived. As a solo traveller, I felt very well taken care of. A big shout out to Mr. Long (my friend), who helped with check-in and stayed in touch throughout my entire trip, even when I was traveling to Sapa and later Da Nang. He made sure everything went smoothly, including having my stored luggage delivered to the new hotel before I even arrived from Sapa. The hotel is beautifully designed, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The Moonlight roof top bar is a great spot to unwind and the staff there were super friendly. I also loved the Red Bean restaurant. The breakfast buffet was good and the team was very attentive. Thanks and shout out to the lovely female staff member at the reception who kindly offered to help contact my Sapa travel agency when I was unsure about my pickup. Thanks to Ms. Linh Kaylee Nguyen, Travel Design Manager who helped me with some queries regarding my stay and booking. Overall, a wonderful stay. I will definitely choose La Siesta again next time I'm in Hanoi.

I booked this blind from the UK going by reviews like this. I can promise the gentle reader that the positive reviews are trustworthy. The location is in the heart of the old district amidst the busy throng of people making a living, or tourists; the hotel itself was a haven of peace. The breakfasts are excellent and fuelled me up for the day; the suppers are equally high quality - clearly they have top chefs in their kitchen. I believe that the hotel earns its high regard by virtue of its staff. They are kind and helpful to a fault, and their non-possessive warmth is genuine. I cannot praise them highly enough. Stay there if you can - you will not be disappointed.

I think this was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. I stayed for 4 days, and I have never come across a more polite and professional staff. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, the location was perfect, and everyone was so helpful throughout my stay. A big thank you to the staff for making my trip truly memorable. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, hospitality, and a great overall experience.

Hotel is in a great part of Old Quarter which was amongst the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. |The breakfast was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was great. |We organised a transfer from airport via the hotel - our flight continued to have delays which meant our arrival was very late. The hotel was very understanding which alleviated the stress of getting into Hanoi later than anticipated.

We had a wonderful stay at La Siesta Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and very comfortable — with all the little touches that made it feel luxurious and relaxing. The location was perfect for exploring the area, yet still felt peaceful and quiet when we returned to rest. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. We truly felt cared for and appreciated as guests. Thank you, La Siesta team, for making our stay so memorable. We would gladly return and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top-notch experience!

The hotel is amazing and the staff are really friendly - they helped me with anything I needed super quickly. The location is also idea as it’s centrally located in the Old Quarter, and you’re within short walking distance of pretty much anything you need. The rooftop bar is awesome too (and in itself makes it worth staying here imo). I’m only leaving 4 stars for the room because the door was slightly wonky with the lock, and the bathroom floor flooded a bit due to the shower having one of those glass half-doors you can’t fully close. But the staff helped me with the door immediately so it wasn’t really an issue. I would 300% stay here again!

We had a great 5 day stay here. The location is absolutely perfect. Service is impeccable and very friendly. Excellent value. Rooms were quite comfortable…and have the best shower pressure we have experienced :) Highly recommended! A few things which we think could be improved: The breakfast was good but not great. That’s the only thing separating the hotel from some of the best hotels we have stayed at. It’s best to go earlier to have the freshest food. More variety each day would help keep things interesting. The room needs more hooks to hang things.
