This was a totally enjoyable experience. We stopped in for a late lunch. The place was empty, due to the hour. Too late for lunch. Too early for dinner. However, more tables filled as we sat. They could not have been more accommodating. The place was clean and comfortable. The decorating consists of multiple pieces of art all themed to the Fat Siren (Mermaid). Overhead hung dozens and dozens of small wooden boats, their hulls signed and dated by visitors. Paintings and sculptures were colorful and clever. There is a small gift shop attached to the restaurant with all manner of cute and collectible items, craft goods and all-around fun things. The proprietress of the shop was very pleasant and friendly. The beer was ice cold, the food was excellent and the service very attentive. My party ate the chicken... The shrimp & flank steak... the shrimp & bacon... and the bean soup. All delicious. I'm not a big drinker, but this place feels like the kind of locale that you would like to come back, at night, and spend the night drinking and enjoying the atmosphere. I am everyone in my party highly recommend this place.
