It was my first time here and I was not disappointed. The food is fresh, with a good quality, and not fried. If you are looking for a high cuisine and some extraordinary dishes, this is not your place. But if you are looking for a great, delicate, fresh and homemade taste, this is your spot indeed.

I’ve been going here for over 35 years. Sometimes 3-4times in a week vacation. Hope you don’t want to actually eat. Ordered pescadillas which were a bit different but delicious. Also ordered with the host’s recommendation the crab and shrimp burger. Waited over an hour, never came. Got the check and left. No explanation from the staff regarding my order. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Loved the place. Was going to buy 4 tee shirts but not after that experience. Appears the the boss needs to show up and keep an eye on things as in the past. Was so looking forward to it but really poor service.

Spectacular fish - tasty and well cooked. Excellent staff- they were accommodating and helpful. We especially enjoyed the cocktails (fresh ginger infused margarita!) and the art (came home with a wonderful little painting). We’ll be sure to return next time we visit! Gracias por todo!

If you're hungry... please know, this spot is good but portions are pretty small. The tacos in the menu as shown in the pic... Are tiny, not the regular taco size.

Good food and drinks, but be careful to review your bill carefully! The woman behind the counter added a very expensive fish of the day fish onto the bill that we didn’t order. Waiter was nice and told her she made a mistake but still shady. Also the quesadilla was more like an empanada. The shrimp and crab burger was fantastic.

Not sure if all of the reviews are real. Shrimp cocktail had a very strange taste that made us question the freshness. Wasn’t expecting it to be like a US shrimp cocktail but was more like a bland ceviche like dish. Pic attached. Fish strips were also a little different than expected. Raw fish like ceviche. Better than the cocktail though. Shining stars were for the tacos. Got fish and shrimp pastor tacos that were both fantastic. Expensive for what it was but very tasty and unique. Got the flan for dessert which was not like any flan we’ve had - more like a cheesecake. I actually loved it but my flan loving girlfriend did not approve. Not your typical custard-y flan. Artwork is fantastic.

Extremely good fish and seafood. Not fried. Just really well cooked. Much of the fish comes right in from the Fisherman's catch that day. One night they just chopped up fresh off the boat raw tuna and served it with garlic and oil to us as we had beers. Two days later we came back for a full meal. Here are the highlights: - The smoked fish tacos and the homemade habenero hot sauce are both surprise faves. - The shrimp tacos, "al pastor" fish tacos and octopus ceviche were great. - Try the margarita with mezcal on the rocks (not on the menu) to wash it down.

Google
Best Shrimp tacos! Everyone says they have the best fish tacos. I do not agree…the fish tacos are OK. BUT the shrimp tacos are awesome!!! Tons of seafood here at the fish docks. You can not go wrong here. We all enjoyed our food & drinks. Staff was great. Fries were from real potatoes.

Yelp
Nice place, slow evening. Got some shrimp tacos and some fresh guacamole. Our Companions got a burger and a cheese quesadilla. Pretty basic menu but sufficient.

Yelp
Excellent shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and michiladas! Service is friendly and on point. Fun ambiance with mermaid art everywhere. Great spot for a casual lunch or dinner! We hear the smoked fish is also great on Thursdays and Fridays!

Yelp
Every item we ordered was absolutely delicious. I had been here once before 25 years ago & it's still as delectable now as it was then. Try the Al pastor de pescado tacos - small but mighty. We also had the chilorio tacos which were spicy but very good. Their fried rice was also very tasty and their house label beer was a good IPA that was satisfying without being overwhelming. Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in Zihuatanejo

Yelp
So good for dinner, we returned the next morning for breakfast! Prachee should consider where else the family ate prior before blaming the CLEANEST, most DELICIOUS food in Zihua. For dinner, the garlic shrimp, blackened octopus and blackened snapper were scrumptious. The guacamole was great, but even better with the green sauce served at the table. So good we ordered a second guac. The service coudn't have been better. I give my highest recommendation to the Sirena Gorda. You'll love all the paintings and sculptures of the heavy mermaids . You don't want to miss this place!!!

Yelp
This was off the beaten path. Two different people at our hotel told us about it and said you have to order the banana pecan pancakes. The bananas are cooked in the pancakes. Yum! Service was excellent as well. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Zihua.

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant, so I hope they read it. We ate here last week during out trip to Zihua. Everyone thought the food was delicious. We were a group of 9 with 5 kids. However, the reason for the 3 starts is that 3 adults got food poising and were throwing up all night and morning (the day of our flight back). We think the seafood tostadas were the culprits. The kids were fine with whatever they ate. La Sirena Gorda, your food tastes great, but you need to address food hygiene asap. We won't go back here next time in Zihua. Not worth the Mexi-bellies.

Yelp
One of my highlights of our trip to ixtapa is eating here. Amazing octopus tacos and ceviche. An absolute must stop.

Yelp
This restaurant is now under the same management as Margarita's. The food is excellent. The red chicken soup is both flavorful and beautiful. I had blacked red snapper which was prepared perfectly. Be sure to try the habanero oil on the fish. It has an amazing flavor that along with fresh lime will wake up all the tastebuds. Price is very reasonable. They close on Wednesdays.

Yelp
I was in Zihua three years ago and couldn't get anything but nescafe "coffee". This time down there was decent coffee many places. Went to La Sirena Gorda for breakfast and my girlfriend and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast and literally the best cup of coffee in our lives. No mean fete as we're from Portland - coffee mecca. Great service - great coffee and just off the beach. Perfect.

Yelp
This was a totally enjoyable experience. We stopped in for a late lunch. The place was empty, due to the hour. Too late for lunch. Too early for dinner. However, more tables filled as we sat. They could not have been more accommodating. The place was clean and comfortable. The decorating consists of multiple pieces of art all themed to the Fat Siren (Mermaid). Overhead hung dozens and dozens of small wooden boats, their hulls signed and dated by visitors. Paintings and sculptures were colorful and clever. There is a small gift shop attached to the restaurant with all manner of cute and collectible items, craft goods and all-around fun things. The proprietress of the shop was very pleasant and friendly. The beer was ice cold, the food was excellent and the service very attentive. My party ate the chicken... The shrimp & flank steak... the shrimp & bacon... and the bean soup. All delicious. I'm not a big drinker, but this place feels like the kind of locale that you would like to come back, at night, and spend the night drinking and enjoying the atmosphere. I am everyone in my party highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Very disappointing as had been recommended in Eyewitness Guide. Good service but mediocre expensive food. Decor somewhat interesting but that is not enough......
