La Sosta. A most unforgettable experience. This multi-award winning restaurant in Swellendam has evolved from almost every night a la carte to presenting on two nights a week a spectacular 6 course menu, very carefully paired with unique, small batch, top drawer wines from across the Cape. We have eaten and stayed here many times over the years and it was hard to imagine that it could improve, but with this new exciting approach, Salvatore and Nina are able to create a new menu every week making use of the season’s best fare. It allows them to also really share their creative spirit and incredible skills in all disciplines of food. Pure magic it is too. It's perfectly situated in that town. Not far from shops but not in the hustle and bustle of town. The service is so great. Lola was very welcoming and attentive to my every need. Everyone there was very friendly too. It's very quiet and cozy. The room is very spacious and beautiful. Limited options with the restaurant not being fully operational but delicious breakfast.

A comfy room with a marvellous breakfast and lovely host. Shower is really nice. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed, we could dine in Sunday and it was very tasteful. Nearby alternative restaurants Christelle and Korenlands are available and offer tasteful menus.

Great spot if you are looking for a relaxing place to stay in Swellendam. Breakfast was awesome and whilst the restaurant was unfortunately closed, we got some great tips for dinner.

Perfect one-night stopover for the price. Simple but comfortable rooms with nice linen, comfortable beds (and delicious biscotti) - and a lovely breakfast included.

La Sosta is a very nice guest house with the bonus of having a restaurant on-site. My host, Lolla, was friendly and welcoming. The room was cosy, with a comfy bed and well-decorated interior. I liked the Dilmah tea and filter coffee provided, and the hot water bottles and electric blankets were a nice touch. An aircon would have been useful, but Lolla quickly brought me a fan, which worked well. There’s also a great swimming pool to enjoy. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay.

If I could give a 6 star, I would. We recently dined at La Sosta for their Italian-inspired fine dining course, and all I can say is—WOW. It was truly one of the most memorable food experiences I've had so far. As someone who deeply appreciates good food, this is a meal I'll be talking about for a long time. The service was impeccable; the staff were not only attentive but also highly knowledgeable. It's very clear that the chefs are masters of their craft. Their flavor pairings were unique and inventive with clean, honest flavors, really reflecting their passion for what they do. The restaurant itself is small and intimate, creating a romantic and charming atmosphere. We will most certainly be coming back for more! Highly recommend!
