I truly can’t say enough positive things about our dining experience at La Stanza. From start to finish, they exceeded expectations in the most welcoming and memorable way. From the moment we walked in, the hostess made us feel immediately at ease — greeting us with a warm smile and even making us laugh. That genuine welcome set the tone for the entire evening. With most dishes ranging between $20 and $30, you receive a level of service and attention to detail that rivals a high-end, fine dining restaurant. The staff delivers quality, care, and hospitality with effortless elegance — providing a Michelin-level experience without any hint of ego or pretense. Every dish felt as though it came straight from an Italian grandmother’s kitchen. The sauces were rich and thoughtfully prepared, and each bite carried depth of flavor and clear pride in execution. You can truly taste the passion behind what they serve. I’m already looking forward to returning and having more amazing food and finishing with the tirimasu and would highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic, beautifully prepared Italian cuisine.

The food was good, but I was somewhat disappointed to learn that some of the items were "pre-made". The service was really good however and the restaurant had a very inviting and comfortable atmosphere.

The Italian food here is incredible! I had the arancini to start and the rigatoni, everything was so good. Highly recommend and the staff was so friendly!

This place is a hidden gem! We found this place accidentally and then it became one of the restaurants that we always take our family and friends to! The pasta was AMAZING. go with any pasta and you will never be disappointed! Their pizza was good too. Soup was also good! They are also pet friendly and have wonderful service!

Today my girlfriend and I came to this restaurant not expecting much but we had a great experience! We accidentally ordered something we didn’t want and they gave us the other dish and let us keep the first dish on the house. The food was pretty decent we liked the ricotta balls. Next time we’d like to try pasta because we’re assuming that’s the best here. Thought the service stood out a lot and the vibes of the restaurant were just really great. We were very impressed with service and atmosphere, go dine here!

Beet salad and all the pastas were delicious - Pear pasta (fioccheti Aurora), Mezzelune di ricotta, ravioli carbonara. Kids loved the pollo milanese. Tiramisu heavenly and must get.

The ambience is great. The food was okayish. The pasta was half hooked and chicken was over cooked. Made for an interesting combo that I might give a try again for the flavors. The creamy tomato sauce was excellent.

Make a reservation…this place gets packed! Parking is easy. I always find parking in the lot right next to the restaurant. What to order… Don’t go without ordering their Arancini di Riso! I know that’s always something I enjoy before my main course. It comes with two so it’s perfect to share with someone else. I have always enjoyed their soups, salads and pasta selection. One of my favorite pastas sounds like something that may make you go “I’m not sure about that”. But trust me…Y-U-M…it’s Fiocchetti Aurora! But any pasta that looks good to you will be tasty!!! I’ve yet to have anything there that wasn’t a treat! Service has always been great! The staff is friendly and pays attention the whole time you are at the table. Perfect to go with friends, family or even a date night. Enjoy!!

WONDERFUL! Simply great food, fast service, well attended to. Wednesday night and I certainly understand why they are busy. Little place with light and welcoming staff and interior. Seating out front, and inside in two areas. First time visit and love it. The food was excellent. So sad I don't live near here as I have fallen madly in love with the fried risotto balls. Parking is easy in the lots behind the buildings. Next time I am near, this is a MUST go again.

I'm a spoiled New Yorker when it comes to eating amazing Italian food. That said, boy was I relieved when I discovered La Stanza. Their food is reliably delicious and when they run specials?! hallelujah! You guys get the New York shaped stamp of approval. Every dish is delicious, be it their Solid pasta dishes, Excellent tiramisu, a magical Caesar salad, and a meal that will leave you happy. So nu?! You? Mange!

The gluten free pizza was so good I worried I got the gluten-eating person's pizza. Especially bc mine was PRETTIER than his. Gf people: when was the last time your gf pizza was the pretty one? Never. I know this. It was rhetorical. I ate the whole thing and while I feel incredibly overfull. No regrets. If I was right and it was too good to be true I'll report back.

My friends and I wanted to try this place out for dinner on a weekday. We were welcomed by the waiter who brought us some bread. We ordered the rigatoni, bolognese, and their pizza special. The rigatoni was better out of the two pasta options and had a better depth of flavor. The pizza was also good as the topping to dough ratio was good and had a crunch to it. The interior was well put together.

This place was delicious! And very authentic tasting. I wish I'd taken a photo of the arancinis as well, which were scrumptious. I've never had arancinis filled so chock full of delicious things. This one had the requisite risotto rice, but also had mozzarella, lots of plump green peas, and a delicious meaty bolognese sauce. The order came with two gigantic arancini balls with a bed of tomato sauce and a sprinkling of cheese. They were SO good and I could have eaten four of these just by myself and called it a day. I also tried their margherita special pizza/flatbread which was made with a combination of different flours, and it was really good. My nephew gobbled this down happily. The stretchy cheese was especially delicious. For my main, I ordered the linguine with clams and as you can see, the portion size was huge! All real clams (no filler), twelve in total, and they were all perfectly cooked and cleaned (no sand)! My order of pasta was also al dente, just the way I liked it. The sauce was a bit on the saltier side, but that could probably also be attributed to the juice from the clams. I also liked that there was a dash of red pepper flakes for a bit of a kick, but it wasn't too spicy for my tastebuds to be overwhelmed. Service was phenomenal from start to finish. We had a reservation for 4, but that also included an extra child for a total of 5 people. The staff was able to provide a booster seat and additional silverware and plates as needed to suit the two kids. The restaurant interior is cozy but filled with light. And they have seating outside too. I would absolutely return again. But I recommend that you make reservation because this place is a local gem, and the locals know it. Even though our reservation was for 5:15, this place started filling up even before 6pm on on Sunday evening.

I visited stanza on Friday evening. It was easy to get a reservation both inside and outside, but we sat outside as we as we had a dog with us. The servers were very kind, but it seems like they were very busy and maybe understaffed. However, the food was very yummy and the ambience was warm. We each got an entree as well as the cheeseboard and the pinsa. Some of the pastas were handmade and some were not. I believe he mentioned that the rigatoni and the linguine were the two that are not homemade. We also got the carbonara ravioli, the Bolognese, the rigatoni, and the Bronzino. Overall, our favorites were the ravioli, rigatoni and Bronzino. I would definitely return!

Small family owned spot, was my bestie's bday pick. We had been there once before awhile ago, guess it left an impression. He loved the pork chop, I had one of the specials- cacio de peppe. Was delicious. They brought out a fantastic tiramisu on the house for my friend's bday. Great spot, affordable & lovely people !

Delicious meal :) The restaurant has a small outdoor seating area and two separate dining rooms inside, with the restroom located down the hall in the middle of the space. I ordered the branzino special, which was simple and delicious. I appreciated the comfortable half-booth seating, which gave me plenty of space. I had difficulty hearing the person I was with, likely because I was seated close to the kitchen, and it was very busy. There's a rather large assortment of non-alcoholic beverages available that are not on the menu, including sodas and teas. I would certainly return for another good meal.

La Stanza is a hidden gem near the Menlo Park post office! I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed the food and experience. My uncle and I came here tonight to celebrate his birthday, and we really enjoyed our meal. He ordered the pappardelle pasta dish, and I had the seasonal salad with watermelon, goat cheese, pistachio, and cucumber. Everything was delicious, fresh, and flavorful! The staff members here are also friendly and welcoming. Someone will greet you as soon as you walk in, which is a great start to the dining experience. here is also plenty of parking available in the lot behind. Overall, I really recommend La Stanza!

***3.5 stars*** My party of 3 walked in on a Sunday evening and there was no wait. Ambience is nice. Cute, small restaurant. We shared the arancini, rigatoni alla carcerata, and ravioli carbonara. Arancini was ok, I felt like it could've been crispier. I wasn't the biggest fan of the rigatoni because it tasted bland and the ground meat was on the dry side. Overall we felt like this dish could've had more flavor. The peas also did not add much to the dish. We enjoyed the ravioli carbonara though! This dish was creamy and reminded me of a ravioli version of cacio e pepe. Pretty small portion (7 small pieces of ravioli). If I got this for myself, I'd definitely be hungry after. So good thing they give free bread! The tomato spread that came with the bread was ok, but we requested olive oil and vinegar instead and enjoyed that a lot more. For dessert, we did the yelp check-in for a surprise dessert which ended up being a chocolate mousse. This was pretty good and rich. We also ordered the rosa di mela (hot apple tart with vanilla gelato). This was made very nicely! The tart was sweet, flaky, freshly made, and went so well with the vanilla gelato. Overall I liked the desserts more than the entrees. Service was great, everyone we interacted with was very friendly.

Wow! It was amazing at a little local place! I've been to this place when it was a different name. The service was great and the food was amazing! Kids loved it too!! It's a tiny place with tables packed. But they have a semi private room too.

Came here with a reservation right before closing time! Good: - Food came out super quickly - Loved the free bread here - The arancini was crispy and super flavorful - Loved my fusilli bolognese, great portion size and savory Bad: - A little casual for an Italian place Overall I really liked the vibe of this place! It's nice and quiet and the prices are reasonable.

Hit or miss with some of the dishes; the penne was pretty salty and nothing to rave about but the rigatoni was pretty good! Tried a few specials and they weren't too bad. Servers were quick and friendly.

I went on a Friday evening, and we were seated right away. The service here was phenomenal. I loved how conversational the staff was in making us feel like we were talking to friends. The ambiance was also lovely, and it felt clean and welcoming. We ordered the Feste salad, which was phenomenal. I loved how unique the flavors felt in a salad. We also ordered the spinach gnocchi, margerita pizza, and my younger sister got a kid's chicken penne pasta. The gnocchi was very soft, unlike any I've ever had. Each piece melted in my mouth. The pizza was standard but still delicious. Of course, the kid's pasta was a little bland, but that is completely expected as a kid's dish.

Awesome Italian food tucked away near downtown Menlo Park! I got a glass of their house red which was delicious. We shared the arancini and then I got the gnocchi in the Gorgonzola cheese sauce and it was amazing. The service was amazing and this was a family owned vibe. 100% will go again!!

This place is a gem! The food is excellent and the service is timely and courteous. The atmosphere is intimate and charming (although it can loud during peak time). Prices are reasonable (for the area). We keep coming back to La Stanza Cucina Italiana for the food and service. Highly recommended!

The meal I had here was FANTASTIC. I keep thinking about my dinner and how much I want to come back! STARTER Even starting with the bread they bring out at the beginning - I'm not of a tomato sauce fan, but the tomato-based sauce/dressing they provide with the bread is heavenly. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but it's lighter than what you would think of for a tomato sauce. It's more like a tomato-based puree or oil, and it's a deliciously light spread to complement the bread. 10/10 ENTREE Now for the star of the night, the Fiocchetti Aurora. So freaking good!!! It's a pocket of yummy goodness, with a perfect blend of pear and asiago cheese. No flavor overpowers the other - the sweetness of the pear, the creaminess of the sauce, the sharpness of the cheese, and the heartiness of the pasta itself all balance each other out in matrimonial harmony. 10/10 DESSERT I ordered the Zabaglione al marsala for dessert which is essentially a marsala wine-infused custard. It was rich, and it was incredible. The taste of the wine was delightfully strong, and the rich custard balanced well with the fruit garnishes. If I could eat one of these every day, I would. There are no secrets or surprised with this dish - you get exactly what is promised in terms of flavor, and it absolutely delivers. 10/10 SKIP NEXT TIME Perhaps my standards are already too high compared to the rest of the food I had, but I wasn't super impressed with the Arancini Di Risotto appetizer. It was fine, but I'm biased against pea dishes to begin with, and the risotto, while technically sound, didn't blow me away in terms of flavor. Good, but I'll save my stomach space next time for the other courses. Overall an outstanding meal, and the prices are reasonable too. I can't wait until the next time I can come back!

Hidden gem - great food for in restaurant (limited seating) or take away. Great flavors.

I had high hopes for this place, I really did. I love Italian but the pasta here was very hard and doughy. No wow factor and on the pricier side. The ambiance was real nice and intimate though. And the service was good but they kept forgetting some items but it was a busy night and closer to closing time so it's understandable.

4.5 stars. Excellent little local restaurant in Menlo park. My toddler loved the bread here. I orderer the linguini a la vongoli. Well prepared. Al dente pasta. Big and numerous clams. The pasta could be a bit more flavorful. Surprisingly, I prefer little clams for this dish. My husband ordered the spaghetti Bolognese which I liked better. Good wine by the glass list. I preferred the Sauvignon Blanc to the Pinot grigio (too much acidity) for pairing with the linguini a la vongoli. Great service. Fast and friendly staff. Will be back!

Came here for dinner with friends and had a great experience! All the pasta dishes we ordered were delicious. I really liked the pasta with the pear and ricotta filling. We also ordered the pork chop dish which was very tasty. The restaurant itself has a very nice ambiance and is perfect for a date night or a nice dinner with friends/family. The only con is that the portions for the pasta are slightly smaller than I'd like. Overall, a great experience though!

Ambience: white table cloth, older professional crowd and retirees. Busy restaurant on a Saturday night. Reservations recommended for weekend dining. Linguine and clams were solid. The veal marsala was ok. I enjoyed their tiramisu. Service was wonderful. A decent size parking lot can be found next to the restaurant. I would like to return someday to try other menu items.

Cute place for rustic Italian with plenty of seating. Local neighborhood Italian spot vibe. I liked the decaf macchiato option (illy). Great, fast service from friendly and attentive waitstaff. Wouldn't detour, but worth coming if you're in the area.

Hella mid food and ambiance was not it :/ The food tasted like something i could make at home. I was not wow'd and i don't have the urge to come back. I've been to really nice Italian restaurants and this is definitely not one of them The food was whatever and the portions were hella small. I left hungry which was very disappointing. DEFINITELY DONT GET THE RAVIOLI! My friend got the ravioli and it had barley any filling and was deadass like 8 pieces.... I got the pear pasta thing, it was pretty yummy and unique but i woundnt return for it. My boyfriend got one of the specials, a pasta with chanterelle, again it was also a small portion Also the room that me and my party of 7 in also had another party of 8-10, and they were EXTREMELY loud, we had to YELL at each other just to talk to the person next to us. It totally ruined the birthday dinner vibe. The waiters were nice but our table definitely felt neglected So yah i wouldn't recommend eating here, there's better Italian restaurants out there..

This is truly a neighborhood gem - the staff is warm and welcoming, the service attentive, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend the arancini! I have been here several times with my family and always had a wonderful meal.

Top Italian Spot in Bay Area! Such a cute restaurant tucked in an alleyway in a fancy Menlo Park neighborhood. This is our second time & every dish was made to perfection. Bread & dip that they offer is quite tempting and you want to eat more & more ( they do offer if it gets over). First of all, this is the first Italian place I have been to, with many vegetarian/vegan options. Thank you! Vegetarian Sachetto - Pasta pocket stuffed with vegetables & dipped in creamy tomato sauce is one of a kind & outstanding. 5/5. My wife ordered the Potato Gnocchi- these little dumplings simply melt in your mouth, they are not chewy at all. Penne pasta with Alfredo was made to the point and tasted simple & delicious. My friend ordered the rigatoni without meat, that tasted great as well ( similar sauce as sachetto). The service is great and overall, a great dinner experience. Great spot for dates & family celebration dinners. Would love to keep coming back. Special note: On our first visit, we got to meet Sundar Pichai ( Google CEO). Looks like he loves this place too! A place worth frequenting indeed! Tip: Yelp check in gives you a free dessert: Tiramisu- it's mindblowing

I've always loved this place for the food. Service can use some work because I have consistently had to flag down my server to order food. I've been here a number of times and always the same. Once you get their attention, then they're great. Food is consistently good which keeps me coming back.

Amazing! The food is fresh and delicious. The gnocchi are little pillows. The pink sauce compliments, the fioccehitti pockets with pear and cheese. A small wine selection pairs well with the food. A must!

As a vegetarian, this place was a delight. So many options including vegan ones. We went for a low key birthday celebration and the place did not disappoint. For a rainy Tuesday evening, it was busy so recommend making reservations. The service was good with really pleasant staff. They have their own house dip that they serve with complimentary bread which was delicious! Very welcoming ambience overall.. not surprising given the name of the place translates to the living room! We ordered 3 entrees.. Fiochetti Aurora (pasta pockets stuffed with pear and Asiago cheese) and it was really unique and delicious. It has the creamy sauce. The mezzelune was good too though I was craving more sauce with it so just used the house dip (personal preference for saucy food). The dish by itself was great. They do kids pasta too and are happy to tailor the sauce to the kids liking so my daughter enjoyed her penne. The desserts were great though we could not finish.. quite rich! As a Tiramisu lover, the fingers in the tiramisu felt a little dry.. but overall the taste was really top notch. Can't wait to go again to try the other items that we could not get to! Good wine collection too though we didn't have any. Saved our appetite for pastas and desserts.

I have been here with my cousin several times but last night we decided to drop in for a special birthday dinner. Of course they were completely sold out but graciously accommodated us with a table outside with a heat lamp. They were so accommodating. We split the watermelon salad three ways. It was scrumptious. I have never had watermelon with cucumber before and it was just so refreshing. Then I had the pappardelle with lamb ragu. The birthday girl had wonderful ravioli. All their pasta is made in house.. we ordered a very nice Italian big bold red. It paired well with our entrées. Of course the Apple tart made with Filo dough, and the tiramisu are exquisite.! This is a family business and I cannot say enough good things about the delicious food, the great service, and eating outside on the sidewalk was fine because of the heat lamps they provide.

Such great service, very friendly, the eggplant is especially tasty. I've been there three times now and haven't been disappointed yet.

Amazing! The way they cook the noodles here are so good and addicting. We loved the fig appetizer and both of our pasta dishes were simple but delicious. It did take a while to get our dishes, but they were extremely busy so it was understandable. The staff were pleasant and quick to refill our water/bread. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking to have some great pasta.

Good service, great spot for a holiday family dinner. I really loved the arancini, don't skip that! I also had the pappardelle al sugo di agnello which was good but not amazing. While the texture of the pasta was great, the sauce was a bit bland and the meat was in these small, almost brittle chunks.

La Stanza food has been consistently good at a reasonable price. The service staff such as Maria, Nayeli, and others are courteous, attentive, and very kind. Highly recommend La Stanza for both casual and special dinners.

We had a pretty large party and none of us were particularly impressed with the food. A couple of the most popular dishes were solid but even then the portion sizes were way too small which just left us unsatisfied despite those dishes being tasty. Also given the sauce heavy nature of most of our dishes it seems like a pretty poor service choice that they didn't refill the bread from before the meal until after we had nearly all finished our dishes; bread is cheap compared to increasing portion sizes so that could have helped us feel more filled / satisfied without costing the establishment much.

I really like their pasta! I ordered the fioccheti aurora which I like because it's pasta pockets stuffed with pear. To some it may sound weird, but it was so tasty that I pretty much inhaled the pasta. Their pasta was soft and light and I love how they wrapped their pasta. Each one of them looked like little gift wraps. Their creamy tomato sauce was so good that I used the left overs for chips and dip afterwards. The best thing to end it with was their tiramisu. Did not get a photo because as soon as I took a bite, I couldn't stop eating it. It was mouthwatering and overall delightful. This time I ordered out but I had eaten there before and I remembered their service was lovely. Everyone was nice and friendly. It had a cozy family vibe as well. I'd recommend anyone to go for any occasion!

Dessert was the highlight. I'd happily return for the panna cotta. Friendly service and cute area. Pasta was al dente and gnocchi was pillowy soft. However, the sauce for all dishes we ordered were too salty for us --we prefer things that are lighter and blander. This place is popular with a lot of diners. The 2 star rating is a note to myself as we're picky eaters who love pasta to prevent another visit without asking them to hold the salt.

Great place for a date night. The Arancini is a must have. The pork loin was not tender but the sauce was good. The clam linguine dish didn't taste like much. The service is a little slow so don't come here if you're in a rush. They give out free bread while you order which is nice. They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options so it's great for people with dietary restrictions. Overall nice place maybe we ordered the wrong things.

This restaurant was amazing, we got three serving on our dinner meal starting off with how they gave us appetizers. Even before the main course I was enjoying the restaurant. When we got the real main course my mouth was watering as I looked across all the delicious foods that I was seeing, after that we had dessert. The creamy milkshake like chocolate mousse was incredible! Plus, all the other people got things like salted caramel Ice cream and this was a great experience and a good time to connect with both friends and family. - My 9 year old niece Food was amazing and very warm hospitality. Great experience for trying Sicilian cuisine! Staff and food outstanding.

The fiocchetti aurora was a delightful and surprisingly good combination of sweet, creamy, smooth, and rich. I was not sure what to expect when ordering and chose it simply by the high ratings from other Yelpers and was not disappointed I would definitely order it again and appreciated the beautifully wrapped balls of pear and Asiago cheese. The flavors worked well together; however, it isn't for everyone! The tiramisu was very delicious and I loved how it came as a gift for checking in! Service was very quick despite it being a busy evening and we were given our food in a short amount of time. The fresh Parmesan service is incredible! I especially loved the free parking and how there is both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is small and cute with lots of tables, packed kind of close together. Be sure to talk quietly because you are seated not too far away from the next party!

Very kind service staff. Solid food but not worth the wait. They had some issues with their reservation system so we had a 40 minute wait despite having reservations (and only a party of 3) plus the food came out slowly.

I went to La Stanza for dinner with a friend, and the place was packed. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I ordered ravioli carbonara. It was super creamy, light, and flavorful. It was a decent serving size, but it was so good that it left me craving for more. They also provide you with complimentary bread. The bread and the dipping sauce (not sure of the name; probably olive oil of some sort) were really good, too. We also got tiramisu at the end, and it was delicious. Overall, it's a great restaurant with reasonable prices, great food and great service.

The food is incredible - we had the clam linguini, arancini, and ravioli stuffed with pear and cheese. Really really delicious. I recommend making a reservation. I saw multiple parties waiting because they did not make one. We had one and were sat right away. The service was very friendly and prompt, the only drawback is it's a bit crowded and we had the misfortune of sitting next to a table with a very loud opinionated group, which kind of killed the date night buzz. We'll definitely be back and can't wait to try more!

We are vegetarians and finding a place like this with exclusive vegetarian dishes makes our day. We ordered 4 dishes - 1) Rigatoni Alla( minus sausage) - delicious flavors. The only thing we didn't like were peas in it but it could be just us. 2) Fiochetti - beautifully blended flavors of pear and tomato sauce 3) mezzelune- best ravioli ever had with good amount of stuffing full of flavors 4) desert (sformato) - very unique desert. Loved the infusion of orange, lemon etc.

Ravioli Carbonara: 3.5/5. Overall a solid dish but it definitely needed to be paired with a fresh salad or glass of wine because it got tiring? Didn't love the texture but really enjoyed the filling inside. Insalata Cesare: 3.5/5. Enjoyed the croutons! Was a simple salad that was nice to start with. Pappardelle al sugo d'agnello: 4/5. Really enjoyed the freshness of the noodles in this dish but can be a hit or miss depending on the person! I really enjoyed this dish but some other people didn't like the gaminess of the lamb but the texture of the noodles were so so good! Pink Pasta: 4/5. Great kids menu option. Was simple, delicious, and kids really enjoy this dish. If you check in on yelp they give you a free dessert! We got a cannoli (the chef chooses which dessert) and shared it at the end which was a nice surprise. The bread comes with a tomato paste (?) which was really nice and something that we haven't had at prior Italian restaurants. Overall, would definitely come to try out other dishes since all the pasta seems super fresh and the ambiance was nice for a date or casual dinner.

I've only done take out but love their food. They don't skimp on the sauce either which I prefer. I always add other pasta etc for leftovers. Next time I am trying some dessert!
