A great restaurant in Napoli, serving Napolitano food but a rare opportunity to savor the food with some modern, creative, inspiring and compelling interpretation. A real experience deviating from the traditional offering exciting dishes. Service was helpful and friendly, ambiance was welcoming. I would recommend trying the homebrew beers, they are excellent.

I found this via my Rough Guide to Italy, and it therefore has quite a number of tourists visiting (like myself) - do not let that put you off from visiting! My mozzarella with sundried tomatoes, capers, anchovies was a meal in itself; my veal polpette with prunes was delicious. Wonderful service, delicious wine, in a great location.

Friendly welcoming staff, great food paired with some excellent wine recommendations by the glass. Some good veggie options too. A really great discovery.

Mango ice cream tastes like ginger, and I could feel the ice separate from cream, the worst thing was I ate a little piece of plastic. 😓 Tiramisu was also very different from the ones I've tasted before, the white part was very thick and the brown part was watery.. I just can't believe it's Italian dessert's level.

Loved it. I had a vegetarian gattò and it was amazing. The staff very welcoming and friendly. I would totally recommend to give it a try. Don't expect the usual spaghetti with tomato sauce though :)

Pretty good food. Prices above Napoli average. Staff attention & atmosphere average.

Superb! Excellent, delicious food, gorgeous wine, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Had the Biramisu and it was the best I've tried ever

We were there before the kitchen opened (19:30), but the waiter was happy to bring us our drinks and a cold appetizer. Friendly, prompt service. We had pasta dishes, both of which were excellent, and the wine recommendation was also great. The style of the place is eclectic; more bohemian-hipster than traditional Neapolitan. But the food and service were irreproachable.

Yelp
If you are looking for healthy, interesting food, this is your place! Honestly we didn't pay attention to what they had, but it had 4 stars and it was close so we went. Better know Italian because very little English spoken. Good AC!

Yelp
We got here as soon as they opened for lunch (staff was still eating their meal) so we got to take our time to peruse the menu. My friend ordered the seafood bucatini and even though it looked like a small dish from it's beautiful presentation, once you mixed it up, it became a very hefty (and fishy) dish. She really liked it! I decided to go with the local white pork and cheese sandwich, and was not expecting (4) full halves! Ate half and the other half became a perfect snack. Prices are really reasonable and lots of yummy choices.

Yelp
Had a fabulous dinner here on our first night in Naples. We had several pasta dishes, a calamari, an octopus concoction with cucumber ice cream (just amazing), and a vegetable dish. We sat at a sidewalk table and enjoyed the raucous scenes of Piazza Bellini. Of course, we shared a great bottle of wine. This goes on until 2 in the morning, by the way. We ended the meal with walnut amaro. Eat well, tip well.

Yelp
This is the only restaurant in Napoli where I arrived before opening (of 5-8 where we were too early**) and they offered to seat us and serve us drinks until the kitchen opened. I really liked the food and this place has excellent beers! **When we were too early, we sometimes found ourselves going restaurant to restaurant looking for somewhere to eat. With the New Year's holiday approaching, many places had strange hours not listed on websites

Yelp
The restaurants in Italy on this trip have been like Pavarotti hitting high C's. Right when I think they can't possible keep it up, this restaurant nails it again and takes my breath away. "Seafood pasta" doesn't really encapsulate how good my first course was. It had pureed anchovies with white fish and lemon with some other orange thing that might have been pureed squash/pumpkin. Vegetariano panino with big pieces of melted mozzarella and grilled eggplant. Fresh tuna grilled with sweet aged balsamic sauce and a pesto garnish with a salad. Hazelnut and cherry Calabrian gelato and birramisu, a tiramisu with the lady fingers doused in stout instead of coffee. My grandmother said it was the best tiramisu she ever had. We also had a dark red sparkling wine called Gragnato because they had run out on Lambrusco. This restaurant is a laboratory in the sense that they experiment with different recipes and introduce the ones that work into the menu. I am usually pretty dismissive of these kinds of places but every once in a while somebody gets it right (another example I would say is Art of the Table in Seattle) because they have the fundamentals of good cooking down and then they are just taking it to the next level. Too often people try to get creative before they know what they are doing and the results are disappointing. This was like jazz, they clearly knew the melodies, but they chose to deviate in a way that made it richer and more exciting.

Yelp
A total and complete FAIL by the New York Times. Must be bought and paid for - one of the sleazy stringers in Europe, who are an embarrassment. Sad! This place was completely empty when we walked in. That should have been the tip off. Against our best judgement, we stayed. (It was raining.) Foul. The bucatino was disgustingly salty and fishy - but somehow had no fish. Huh? The cod was slimy and salted to the point of inedible. Service was sullen. AVOID. Gross.

Yelp
The thing we enjoyed most about this restaurant was sitting outside and watching the constant stream of interesting people roll by. The Piazza Bellini is right across the street, our hotel was right next-door, and there was always something interesting to watch, including the cars trying to maneuver out of impossibly tight parking spots. We also enjoyed some Ruche wine from the Piemonte along with three items from the menu. The first was grilled octopus over an eggplant caponata, the second was a pasta dish called coast to coast with seafood, and the third was another homemade pasta dish with long tubes of pasta recommended by our waitress who had been working at this spot for 20 years. Everything seemed fresh and tasty. It was a fun evening.

Yelp
What a beautiful and refreshing restaurant. We were about an hour too early but they still sat us and served is drinks and snacks. The food was amazing and they were so nice. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Yelp
Nice restaurant, great location on piazza Bellini, helpful staff. I'm not entirely convinced about the food. This place offers revisited classics of the Neapolitan cuisine with a creative touch. Problem is that sometimes there's a thin line between a new creation and a mere (non successful) experiment. The roie e mare pasta was ok, I'm not sure about the lemon zest in it. The kulfi ice cream was not edible: too sweet, very weird gooey texture, and it wasn't cold at all, it was a cream rather than an ice cream. The service was kind but we were forgotten for hours at the table. They were kind enough not to charge us for the pasta dishes. 3 stars of encouragement

Yelp
OK, so we went to La Stanza del Gusto because it was right next to our hotel, Palazzo Bellini (see review). Also because it had a bunch of Italian microbrews stacked up in the window. But mostly because it was close. We ordered a couple of cheese plates to start. We didn't know this was a "cheese place," and so were completely blown away by what we got. Smoky, creamy, runny, aged, mushroomy, ashy, nutty -- WOW! The pastas that followed were cooked just so and went beautifully with a few new-order Italian beers (which if you haven't tried you are missing something very relevant in the food world). We sat out on the sidewalk, enjoying the bustling Neapolitan nightlife and happy to crawl up to our room next door. All in all, an excellent experience that we enjoyed so much we repeated it the following night.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience at La Stanza del Gusto! We went our last night in Naples and had some of the best service all trip! The food is more modern, and it is excellent. We loved everything we ate here- we would definitely recommend for others to try!

Yelp
I was intimidated by the selection as a picky eater but the waiter was kind enough to answer all my questions in English. I ended up ordering two pasta dishes based on his recommendations and a glass of white wine. He did not lead me astray! The classic pasta dish was incredible - so simple yet full of flavor with perfectly cooked noodles. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
Besides extremely wonderful food, we had the fried ravioli and puréed beans with smoked squid, the service was so friendly and accomodating, they dermed genuinely interested in serving your meal in the best way possible, meaning that they'd actually comment on your choice combinations to assure you the best experience... mission:accomplished. Thanks a bunch!

Yelp
Probably the best meal we had in Italy. Great ingredients prepared with love and care. Also, a great value, compared to SF/Bay Area restaurants.

Yelp
La Stanza del Gusto was the perfect end to my first day in Italy, a little work but 100% worth it! After a long day of hiking, figuring out transportation, and enjoying Vesuvius/Herculaneum/Pompeii I was in need of a great Italian meal. La Stanza was a quick 10 minute walk from my Airbnb and was exactly the quaint local type I was looking for. The service was prompt but not overbearing and the food was amazing! I had the Mediterranean Red Tuna over potatos and greens with red sauce paired with a beautiful white that my server suggested. It was bold, hearty (though not too much), and unique. I followed that with their signature 'Bieramassu' that was well earned by my travels throughout the day. Two things I wish; 1. They would have had a sign on the door that said 'push' though the other patrons were happy to help 2. My girlfriend joining me (she couldn't make this trip) Beyond the ambiance and the meal, I was a big fan of the area they are located in. It seemed to be a cique hangout for 20 somethings, and had I not booked an early tour the next day, probably would have barhopped my way home. Thank you La Stanza for ruining all of my future ventures to Italian (in America) restaurants:)

Yelp
We absolutely loved this restaurant. The local ingredients fused with new takes on popular dishes really made for a well executed, winning combination. The desserts are fantastic--the black cherry gelato made in house is really to die for along with the thick pasta whose name escapes me. The local white that our lovely waitress suggested was so good, we returned a day later to have more. Absolutely fantastic service. Can't go wrong here.

Yelp
saw this quaint local restaurant in the piazza bellini area which i read about on Timeout on 15 best things to do in Naples! the place didn't disappoint. as much as we would have loved to sit outside, which we couldn't because of upcoming dinner reservations, the food made up for it. my friend chose a seafood pasta dish called coast to coast which was delicious. I had picked the oro ie mare pasta dish that had home made bucatini ( i was trying to see if i can buy the uncooked pasta , which they didnt have since they said made fresh) with organic tomato base and with fish, lemon and anchovies. it was delicious and good enough portion. dessert was also very yummy which was something different, i have never had before, aubergines (i guess a form of eggplant) with sweet ricotta and doused in melted chocolate and a hint of ginger on the side! i had a espresso shot with it and that is why i am still up at 1236am writing this review! i still have several days here, we may have to come back again soon!
