"Excellent Espresso Near Paradeplatz Come morning, this uber-popular bar among the banker set near Paradeplatz transforms into what just might be my Platonic ideal of what a café should be: sharply-dressed baristas in grey vests and narrow ties pulling lively, fruity espressos from a La Marzocco; a multi-tiered stand of take-as-you-please cream-filled cornetti on the grand marble-topped bar; German- and English-language newspapers hanging from wooden racks; plenty of natural light streaming in from three glass walls; and on a recent Saturday morning, the Rolling Stones playing at perhaps just a few decibels too loud."

Nice italian type coffee and appetizer place. Staff is friendly and professional with quick service. Can get pretty full afterwork.

Google
Espresso great as always. Service was however distant by all the three young female staff. I get that in rush hour, things get a little more hectic - but basic principles should apply. Upon my feedback and question, as she/they were ok or if something happened, she continued to not look at me and told me, absently not facing me, that they don‘t have time to stay and smile. Which I didn‘t ask for. I asked her if she could put down the cups less harshly without spilling coffee. Which two of them continued to do. Their actions made it seem as if basic customer orientation wasn‘t something La Stanza was after any more. Happened twice now. Hope it‘ll be back some time again soon. Love your place! 💖 P.s. The dolce was dry around 10:30am…

Came just for the coffee and wasn’t disappointed. Ordered a cortado and the espresso was very smooth with a creamy milk foam. Light-bodied and slightly acidic.

Google
Best coffe in Zürich. Small and cozy Italian bar, apart from coffee all kinds of cocktails are available, beer and wine. Can get loud when full. Nice external terrace, kind staff.

Google
Delish place for coffee n croissant, nice outdoor seating, had a cappuccino and a croissant with chocolate inside. Wow, fresh tasting. Friendly staff, clean and priced fair. Also dog Friendly .

Google
Interesting old time vibe cafe. The coffee was strong and taste great. I had the cannoli dessert, which was average. The staffs were so friendly and tried their best though the place was so busy with seating as well as acoustically. We like the place. Will go again sometimes.

Staff is very friendly and kind. They are fast and efficient as well. The place was fully packed when we came in. It was very lively inside. Prices are very average. The croissants were ok, not the best, but good. They are very full of the filling. We tried the vanilla and the jam one. Both were good. Maybe just a bit too sweet. Especially the jam one. The coffee was good. Strong. A bit bitter.

Yelp
A staff member at our hotel suggested that we go here for an afternoon coffee, and it did not disappoint! My friend and I got two cappuccinos, which were absolutely delicious. The inside was kind of small and busy, but there was a nice little outdoor section to enjoy your drinks. All in all, it's a wonderful coffee and drinks spot in this area.

Yelp
Came here based on a recommendation! The place is super popular and can get very busy. My friend and I managed to get a table outside and got two cappuccinos while enjoying the outdoor space

Yelp
At Ride2Coffee we are picky with the places we share, but this was a no brainer. The coffee is amazing and the interior decor throws you back a century into a social gathering place where the prettiest people in town come together. See more information on http://bit.ly/R2C-LaStanza

Yelp
La Stanza supposedly makes the best cappuccino in all of Zurich. I haven't had enough cups to compare, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. Bold espresso, quality Swiss milk, and foam so thick you can spoon it up & eat it! In addition to Italian coffee drinks, they also serve wine, beer, cocktails, and small pastries. The narrow bar which extends far into the back is quite stylish with large windows allowing lots of light into the high-ceiling room. Take a spot by the wooden window benches, at one of the tables, or by the marble-topped bar, and enjoy your beverage of choice!

Yelp
There are at least three places established as coffee/drink shops within the proximity of a street from La Stanza in Zurich, and one of them is what do you know, Starbucks! If you want real Italian style coffee, then come to La Stanza. It is one of the best in Zurich you will find. The atmosphere is simple - inside there is a marble stand where you go and order your drinks. The waitstaff are young, interesting and friendly. In terms of semantics, please don't come here to order a coffee. It's Italian style - order a cappuccino or if desperately seeking a kick start to your day, a doppio espresso. In the morning, most people, whilst still lingering in their 'morning mood', come here for their 'coffee' along with this delicious looking Italian style pastry filled with cream. You'll also find the 'coffee' crowd here after lunch, but in the evening people are here for wine and mixed drinks over a quick chat. The after work crowd appear to draw mostly people affiliated with the nearby businesses which are predominantly banking related. If the weather is nice, it will also attract a crowd outside either sitting or standing on the streets. This place is a coffee shop for people who hate finding themselves in a typical boring coffee shop - a paradox that was even deserving for the author Malcom Gladwell (famous for his writing of "Blink") to write about La Stanza, along with a handful of other coffee establishments in other cities, in a Wall Street Journal article. Yelp
I've been back a few times since the 'funky milk' incident and I can only say that that time, fortunately, seemed to be the exception and not the rule. I've also taken to standing at the lovely, marble counter and ordering. It makes the whole transaction go a little bit snappier. On my last visit, I spied a group of French chicks browsing a menu, then sitting for days before one of them had the bright idea of going up to the counter for assistance. I'd say that if one sits outside, then expect table service. However, if one sits inside, then the best bet would seem to be rocking on up to the counter and ordering. Today was Sunday, a day on which most businesses here are closed. La Stanza, God bless 'em, is open. The hubs and I happened to be walking by when I remembered this delightful fact. We went immediately for a sit-down and a bevvie. We both ordered cappucinos (basically the LDN version of a flat white) and were quite satisfied with both the look and taste. No funky-tasting milk here! We also thought to tackle a massive-looking croissant filled with 'aprikose confiture'. That shit was sweeeeeet. I also have to say that I found the weekend vibe to be much more chill than the weekday 'white collar' jazz. I could well see myself tripping back over to LS, if I happen to be in the 'hood.

Yelp
I've been here for drinks after work and also for coffee after lunch. It's not a very large place, so it can get quite crowded after work. Lovely, elegant interior, but not much seating available, so most people stand. I've had a sweet white wine spritzer, which tasted okay. I've also had an espresso--which came out in a teeny cup and was utterly dark and bitter. Still not quite used to that kind of drink yet. :O

Yelp
I wouldn't necessarily come all the way here for a coffee, especially since they don't serve coffeee! Yes, you heard right. Try ordering a freaking kaffee creme. They'll tell you the closest options are espresso and cappuccino. I hate this TC (too cool) crap. It's like the places that don't serve ketchup because their food is so above that. What's wrong with a kaffee creme? It's less adulterated than a cappuccino, what with all that frothy milk and all! Anyhow, service is decent. It's a classic Parisian/classic American-styled cafe/bar.

Yelp
very cozy cafe/bar, in the center of Zurich. Capuccino is very tasty, and i lov thi in Aperol Spritz! Gets very busy on a weekend afternoon though! **Update Also a great place for a coffee. I dont drink coffee often but their capuccino is great! Can also recommend their spicy ginger beer:))

Yelp
I've been a fan of La Stanza for the past year. I love the atmosphere, the cappuccino and the feel of the place. It's noisy, old style Italian coffee machine, spoons dropped onto coffee plates, waiters shouting across the cafe. It has a nice patio outside. The crowd is mostly made of bankers and insurance company employees from the neighborhood. In the evening, people gather for after work drinks. It gets packed easily. Plus: Aesop soap and hand moisturizer in the bathroom.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee place in Zurich. Has tones of cool to spare, old Italian bar atmosphere and espresso and cappuccino to die for

Yelp
This is Zurich's best café. What makes it that you may ask. Simple, the best coffee. The service is quick, the atmosphere authentic and the prices for coffee are reasonable: 5 CHF for a cappuccino. They have nice little baked goods, other drinks and Wifi. In the summer it's nice to sit outside in there terrace. The crowd is a mix of bankers, insurance people and hipster marketers. All in all a good melange of folks.

Yelp
OMG this place is so crowded and on a Friday night- don't think another person could fit in there, it was so darn tight! Full of banker-types in suits, who reserved a whole corner of the place. They even made us move (which was so difficult with so little space)! Our aperol spritzes didn't come cheap, and it was oh so darn loud too- my friend swears it's better (and less people) on Saturday afternoons...

Yelp
I have just discovered the best Italian coffee shop in Zurich!! This place is so charming and lovely. It's very simple: there's just a big main room with a long bar; I ordered a cappuccino but I see a full selection of liquor behind the bar and someone else just ordered a beer, so it looks like they'l be happy to serve you what you want. :-) Note that it's not a bar like "I'm going out to the bar" kind of bar... there are no bar stools, you don't sit at the bar... more like you walk up to the bar and they serve you. There's also a large, lovely outdoor space in case the weather is good. But really, let's talk about the good stuff: the cappucino. YUM CITY. Really well done, delicious, and one of the best espressos that I've enjoyed in Zurich. A chill place, and super delicious coffee... this is going to be my new place to stop in and relax with a quick cup when I need it.

Yelp
Very good coffee and excellent decoration/atmosphere/crowd. A weird mixture of Italian industrial design, German austerity and and East London hipsterism that does work very well. Excellent for a relaxed morning. Why not 5 stars? Because the pastries were not at par: Bad pastry or bad filling in a croissant is acceptable but not both.

Yelp
Love everything about the place! The mood, the atmosphere, the people and especially the iced coffee. Great place ti start the weekend, to take a break or as an alternative to working in an office all day.

Yelp
Beware: this is not a coffee shop. They sell the usual staples (espresso, latte, freddo), but they don't have an extensive coffee menu. I went here based on the Yelp reviews about what a wonderful coffee shop this is, but when I asked for a menu, there was no coffee on it. When I asked for a coffee menu, I was informed of the bar's non-coffee shop status. With all that said, the cappuccino was delicious! My friend had a freddo latte that she enjoyed, and all the cocktails and appetizers everyone around us was eating looked good, too. I would recommend this place for a light snack or a drink after a long, hot day of sight seeing with friends. Note: The people that frequent this place are the young professional types that dress neatly. I was a little embarrassed to eat here in my shorts still half soaked from Lake Zurich, lol. Cheers!

Yelp
I love that place! hidden gem close to Paradeplatz. reminds me of an authentic Italian coffee place. those guys know how to make a perfect cappuccino. I wish they'd have almond milk though..

Yelp
Good coffee with good service. During the warmer months, you can enjoy your coffee in the outdoor patio area, and in the colder months it is better for getting a quick coffee and hanging out for 15 minutes indoors.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has always been crowded, which is fine, but lately it's been taken over by a few married couples with hyperactive children who, literally, try to climb on other people, sit on the floor throwing food around and scream at each other across the bar. I have no idea why the staff are ok with this. It has been like this the last three times I've been here, and there won't be a next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place! Want a good coffee and a great atmosphere? This is your place. It's like stepping into Italy. The guys know what they're doing on the machine, serving some good, consistent coffee.

Yelp
Good location, potential to a really nice place. Unfortunately I had the worst espresso doppio here. Like.. Ever. Prices are amongst the highest in the city. Also been here in the evening for drinks once and the barkeeper didn't know that they had espresso martini on the menu as we ordered it and didn't know how to make it. Lame.
