La Štruk

The gratinated strukli are amazing! It’s like a lasanha but the pastry is lighter and the filling has only ricotta cheese and any extra you choose. We had the truffle and the pumpkin seed one and they were both great, very different from one another. Pumpkin seed is a must, it’s very local and the combination with the cheese was divine. For dessert we tried the blueberry one and it was just perfect. There are not a lot of seats available and staff was a bit hurried, but nothing terrible

LOCATION & ATMOSPHERE In the city center, 1 minute away from the main square. For the atmosphere, cant tell much as we were at the terrace and the only ones. 😂 SERVICE Professional, nothing more or less. PRICE Reasonable prices when you take into consideration the location. FOOD There are traditional recipes for štrukli and the modern ones. This is a modern version of štrukli with various tastes and they are decent. If you are a tourist, you will be satisfied for sure. Portions are right as they should be. OVERALL Come and try, for sure part of the gastro touristic experience. If you want a traditional štrukli, go outside of Zagreb. A recommendation!

This is the best štrukli you will ever have in your life—in fact, it was so delicious that I got it twice in one sitting. The truffle one is the most popular savory option and the blueberry one is the most popular sweet option. I also had a yogurt drink which paired very well with this traditional classic Croatian dish. The vibes here were cozy (inside seating) and perfect for solo travelers who need some comfort food on a cold/rainy day or after an emotional visit to the Museum of Broken Relationships. If you’re not going alone though, then definitely make a reservation!

We ate two times at La Štruk and we loved both of them! The service is very friendly, polite and professional! The dry white wine is exceptional and not so dry. We had the salty cheese The truffle paste and the roasted paper,which was a little bit spicy. And of course they are pet friendly inside and outside !

Came here after reading reviews and hearing about its popularity whilst only serving the Croatian dish, strukli. I've had struklji before in Slovenia so I had some expectations of what it would be like, but they were slightly different. To try a variety, we as a two ordered the truffle flavour savoury strukli, blueberry flavoured sweet strukli, and also a deep fried one, together with a couple of drinks. The service was fairly good and the strukli came out steaming hot from the oven. My favourite turned out to be the truffle flavour, as I loved the delicious creaminess of it whilst having a subtle truffle taste. In this sense, I felt like the savoury strukli in Croatia was better than the one I had tried in Slovenia which were very different. However, for the sweet one, although the blueberry flavoured was tasty, it didn't beat the flavours at Moji Struklji Slovenije in Ljubljana. Still, the blueberry flavour was very delicious, and sweet in just the right amount. My least favourite was the deep fried one with cheese. It was still good but felt a little boring in its flavour and I struggled to finish it all. Although the dishes are good, it can get a bit heavy and monotonous so I would recommend sharing a few different flavours. Overall, I enjoyed my experience so I would definitely recommend it as something to try in Zagreb and I would go back there if I returned to the city.

This charming and enchanting restaurant is located on a short, narrow street that has seating areas from the different restaurants down the middle with narrow sidewalks beside. La Struk specializes in ‘strukli’ which is a dish unique to Zagreb. The menu is dedicated to a wonderful variety of versions of strukli which is “made from a hand-stretched dough – which must be so thin you should be able to read newspaper through it – and filled with fresh cottage cheese”. There are sweet and savoury versions, as well as a deep-fried version. While they only have one gluten-free version, a must for celiacs is that it is made separately. My wife thoroughly enjoyed hers, although both her and I found our meals to be quite filling – so go with an appetite! I chose the savoury pumpkin seed version which was enjoyable, although the pumpkin flavour could have been enhanced a little more. If I were to visit again I would choose the savoury truffle paste. One disappointing facet of this dedication to strukli, is that there were no salads or vegetables on the menu. We thought it would have been nice if we could have shared a strukli and a salad. Prices were very reasonable with all options below E10.

I wanted to try this Croatian dish and chose a strukli with truffel and walnut&honey. Nice staff. I like the focus on one dish. It turned out to not be my taste, for me it is not a must, but I guess a good spot for it!

Taste is pure and yummy. very glad to enjoy local food, perfect for a light lunch or desserts. we ordered red pepper flavor which is very well cooked and flavoured. blue berry is also nice but less surprising
