La Suite by Dussol

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Everyone was friendly and the views in itself were breathtaking and worthy of it all. I loved the floating breakfast and the fact that it was included with the stay was a plus. It gave relaxation and luxury and felt great there. We arrived early and we were allowed access to our room and that was great. The monkeys were friendly too *smile*. I would definitely book this hotel when I go back to Rio just for a day of relaxing for sure. The rooms were beautiful and we had a romantic dinner and that was delicious and special as well. So much to do on the property and so much to see meaning the details in the hotel. It is a bit far from things to do but that did not bother us as we wanted to relax by the pool all day anyway. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

I'm very happy that I booked the purple room.||What's to love:|- Super-safe neighborhood|- Impeccable design and decor. I loved the whimsical taste|- Incredible views: from your balcony, from the pool, from the deck. When it's not cloudy, you can see Christ the Redeemer. You obviously have a view of the ocean, plus the double-decker highway which is mesmerizing at night|- Wide selection of food and wine options. You can eat whenever you want, wherever you want|- Comfortable bed and pillows (thick foam)|- Showers with a view|- Lots of places to hangout: the pool area in back, the lounges in front, the lobby, the deck, your own deck|- Strong WiFi|- Interesting houses in the neighborhood, and in the neighboring condominium neighborhood (and the guards will give you access if you're staying at La Suite)|- Gorgeous beach about a 15-minute walk away|- The cutest little monkeys! A couple of them scurried across my deck one day|- Clean room, dark at night. Could control temperature, fresh air. Toiletries (except lotion)||Room for Improvement:|- No complaints

Absolutely incredible views that are jaw dropping. The service and staff are amazing! The room was pretty, but the water pressure and water temperature need to be checked on in order to perfect this stay. One note is it’s about 15 min west of Leblon, so it may not be a good central location for tourist attractions. We stayed closer to Copacabana to do those things and then moved here for a few days to relax! Overall, I’d recommend!

The place was absolutely beautiful. I was almost heartbroken when I had to leave. It was the true definition of a boutique hotel with niche art from all over the world and its lavish aesthetic. Out of all the hotels me and my gf stayed at this view and service was the best by far. I can’t give Daniel enough praise he made our stay a joy. I’d come back just for his service and dedication alone. My only gripe was our room, the white suite, needed some extra cleaning and our sheets weren’t clean when we first got there. They promptly fixed the issues however. I’d come back!

La Suite by Dussol is an atmospheric hotel with dramatic coastal views and its own very stylish and idiosyncratic "modernist" art vibe. The rooms are eclectic, spacious, comfortable and also stylish in their own way. The pool area, separate from the main lounge/terrace area, is very nice also, peaceful with dramatic views. Burger (and fries) ordered by the pool side was one of the best I've had in many years (for real), noteworthily good. Breakfast on the terrace (again with dramatic views) is good (although simple - but personally I like that). The property is located down the coast from Rio, I guess in a suburb of Rio, and accessible through a winding private driveway with gated security which together with the property's secluded and leafy nature makes for a kind of "James Bond" hideaway feel, in my view that's not a bad thing! Service is pitched just right, led in the day by Emily, available on whatsapp, and nothing is too much to ask. Breakfast can be calendared by whatsapp and you are likely to have the terrace to yourself which makes for an exclusive feel.Two minor reservations are not to do with the hotel management at all. One is the occasional music from an adjacent (private) property which is unfortunate given the whole advantage of this hotel is its peaceful, secluded and leafy nature. But it is not a serious problem at all. The second is actually the secluded nature of the property - Uber is hard to come by (although does work), the novelty of the winding driveway in and out wears off slightly, and the car journey into central Rio is quite long and prone to traffic. But you would be foolish to come to this property to rush around too much, it is best for a quiet time enjoying the extraordinary ambience that this hotel has created and the interesting location. Regret not booking longer, hope to return. Highly recommend.

Beautiful property. Staff is wonderful especially Emily, spoke great English and made us feel very welcomed. Stay for the view and pictures. Without coffee in the room or strong internet working from here is a challenge. So just don’t :)

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at La Suite by Dussol very much. It is located in an exclusive neighborhood, some 20 minutes by taxi from Ipanema beach & Leblon. After 5 nights in the heart of the action (Leblon & Santa Theresa), it was a welcome haven of peace and tranquility. It's a beautiful property, with exquisite taste, and views to die for. The rooms are slightly dated (with neither TV nor minibar, but the former was certainly not a problem!), but extremely comfortable and with thoughtful touches, and ours (the yellow room) with a delightful balcony. The service was impeccable, the food (including the complimentary delicious breakfast) and the drinks service irreproachable. We are already planning our return visit for next year.
