Yelp
My wife and I just happened to be looking for a "menu del dia", while walking in the old city of Longrono Spain. It's a beautiful city on the " Camino De Santiago"
We were the first ones in and before opening , but the owner was gracious and asked us to please sit down.
While the "menu del dia" did not include beverages, which many do, the price for what was on the menu was very reasonable.
So I just ordered a bottle of white wine, which again was very inexpensive.
Now to the food;
Simply put, it is "menu del dia", but elevated. I would put it in the "fine dining category".
We both had the pear salad, with a grilled slice of goat cheese in the center, with local olive oil, really good.
Second course, my wife had the Cod in a pepper and tomato sauce, I had the pork cheek. Both were mouth watering and very tender. My fries were string potatoed, which I have never seen on a "Pilgrim menu" or in many restaurants throughout Spain.
I have been on all of the 5 major Camino's and this was a first!
All said, I would highly recommend them to anyone, from Locals to Pilgrims to Tourists!
Buen Camino
