This is probably the best restaurant in Baños. The food is incredible and unique. When I was in town I went there way too often, because it was so good. I doubt there’s another place within 1000 miles that does authentic Spanish tapas. I highly recommend the meatballs and octopus, but the papas bravas were also a big hit with our group. Oh, and we got paella a few times, which was divine (but you need to order it in advance, due to the long preparation time). The owner and kitchen staff are perfectionists, and it really shows in every aspect.
Although the food is very high end, the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is versatile: It is a perfect place for a group celebration, but also great for a romantic date, or even a quiet meal or drink alone. I found myself stopping by for a relaxing sangria by myself more than once.
If it is not busy, the owner may come talk to you - he is a fascinating guy. I can’t remember his name right now, but you will know him when you meet him because he is an excellent conversationalist and speaks several languages, including perfect English.
