Splendid dinner in this authentic italian cuisine slow food restaurant. Everything was delicious, We ordered bruschette, potatoes with cheese, escalope (veal), meat balls in tomato sauce, grilled eggplant and grilled pepperoni. For bruschette just ask for olive oil it will taste so much better. Dry bianco home wine was perfect. Enjoyed from first to last bite. No reservation, so you need to be patient to get a table but it's worth.

The best dining experience in Napoli. The food was very delicious and freshly made. One could almost taste the attention and passion the food was made with. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, they helped us choose the food and made some good recommendations for the drinks as well. I'd definitely recommend that restaurant to my friends.

What a wonderful cafe to visit in Naples 🇮🇹 which is run by a family. We had the pasta, which was made in cheese and lemon served with black pepper on top. It tasted very good. The star of the show was the pasta with potatoes and cheese, which was just amazing! Lastly, we got the fried battered cod, which was tasted super fresh, and many people asked us what this dish was. Absolutely recommended 👌🏻

La Taverna di Santa Chiara is more than just a restaurant — it’s a sanctuary of warmth, integrity, and soul. From the first bite to the last sip, every visit is a reminder of how food can nourish more than just the body. The dishes are consistently delicious, clearly crafted with care and rooted in authentic Italian tradition. You can taste the freshness, feel the love, and see the pride in every plate. Whether it’s the perfectly balanced sauces or the tender handmade pasta, every meal is a celebration of honest, heartfelt cooking. But what truly sets this place apart is the remarkable woman behind it. The owner is not only a gifted chef and gracious host, but also a courageous human being — someone who is unafraid to speak up for what is right. In a time when silence often feels safer, she has boldly and compassionately used her voice to stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine. Her public support for Palestinian rights — expressed with dignity and clarity — is a rare and powerful gesture in today’s world. It reflects a deep sense of justice, humanity, and moral conviction. Taking such a stance, especially as a small business owner, is not easy. It can come with risks. Yet she has done so without hesitation, proving that true character is not only revealed in the kitchen, but in how we stand for others. In showing compassion and moral clarity, she reminds us that food and community are inseparable — that restaurants can be places of resistance, unity, and love. La Taverna di Santa Chiara is a place where you don’t just eat well — you feel seen, respected, and inspired. I will continue to return here not just because the food is outstanding (it truly is), but because supporting a place with this much heart and courage feels like the most natural thing to do. Bravo — for the food, the service, and the spirit. May your table always be full and your voice always heard.

The pasta was quite good, as was the wine, but the citron pie was way too expensive at 9€ each. The service charge of 2, 5€ per person also elevated the bill

Sweet Christ on the cross. Wow. Everything was absolutely biblical. Both pasta dishes were exquisite. The fish trio was so unbelievable. The anchovies + ricotta dish is a must. The charcuterie board is also an absolute must. Rick Steves (dad) did it again. I left so full (like Sean).

Just round the corner of the magnificent Convento di Santa Chiara, in the heart of the old city of Naples, there's this little taverna where you can taste excellent traditional food. Not to miss the ziti alla genovese, a savoury pasta with a slow coocked sauce made of meet and onions (just one might not be enough) and the pasta with smoked provola cheese and potatos, a jump backward to the tastes of the past. Welcomig and smiling service, with a touch of cozy but not noisy sympathy are the perfect framework for this place that I strongly recommend to everyone's interested in leaving a real and not for tourists neapolitan experience. Just an advise: you'd better book in advance. Personal update: recently Santa Chiara has been under the spotlight for some troubles with some guests that found it normal to put online a video accusing the owner for being anti-jewish just because she clearly stated her disappointment toward what's now happening in Gaza. Well, I don't wanna go into politics, but simply give my personal support to the Taverna's team, and compliment for their extremely firm but polite reaction

Yelp
Come here for the cozy vibes and good food. Service was okay but the food is what we came for. We didnt have a reservation and were lucky enough to walk in. The bread was ok but the pasta was AMAZING. The lemon and cheese combo was delicious. Didn't get a chance to try a dessert. I really wanted to get the soup but they ran out :( It is tourist friendly- a ton of americans on the bottom floor with English menus.

Yelp
Good food, limited wine list. Service is good too. We had an antipasti that was absolutely HUGE with meats and cheeses. All local. Pastas were excellent. The Genovese was cooked all day - you can tell. The depth of flavor was fantastic. They serve the house wine by half liter or liter. We did opt for a bottle of a natural wine that ended up being quite good. This place was recommended by the B&B we had stayed at - I can definitely see why its on their list.

Yelp
Happiness in Slow Food form! A place worth seeking out - the food is unctious (the pasta e patate is a carb bomb tho!), the portions satisfying, the safe friendly and welcoming, and, basically, they care! So yeah, even if toure not in the hood, it's worth making your way here (We'll be back the next time we're down in Napoli)

Yelp
Be aware that this restaurant will not seat you unless you get there at least an hour and half before they close. There was a table for 4 open when we got there, and the woman wouldn't seat us. So they are still completely uninterested in customer service or getting new customers. We have found that Naples is deservedly not on travelers' radar.
