On the Grid : La Tavernícola

"Although la Tavernícola is one of the newer additions to the hood, once upon a time it was a local winery that dated back to 1937. We really like the way the new owner has managed to maintain some of the traditional aspects of the place such as the wine range, thus combining original features with modern touches. They have also added a selection of cocktails to go with their seasonal menu, characterized for using traditional Mediterranean products with a modern twist." - Little Buddha

what s wonderful meal. reservation recommended, it's a small place. I didn't have a reservation but they accommodated me anyway. The staff was unbelievable, smiles, friendly and like I said, accommodating. didn't have the wine I selected but the one she recommended was unbelievably good. not that I've ever had a bad burrata salad, but oh my God it was yummy. then there was meat. the steak was cooked perfectly. served traditional Argentinian style with the salt on the side and some delicious chimichurri for a spicy bite here and there. I ended with tiramisu, which was a good call. Next visit to Barcelona, I have a new favorite steak restaurant.

The steak here was tasty and cooked just right based on what we asked for (so there were no surprises, i.e., medium came out as medium, etc.). I was also pleasantly surprised by the prices — they’re quite reasonable for the quality, so you really get good value for your money. You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, which is great depending on the mood or weather. The staff were friendly, attentive, and responsive without being intrusive, which made the experience even better. All in all, I’d definitely recommend this place and would happily eat here again!

My fav Argentinian resto at Poble Nou. I usually order the Milanesa Napolitana but every of their meats are just delicious if you’re really hungry then get a parrillada 👌🏽✨ also the desserts and the wines are top nocht. Highly recommended! A must visit if you’re around the area cause even after all it’s not a expensive place ✨

You can go there only with a reservation. Very good beef. If you are looking for a good argentinian beef in Barcelona, this is the place. Nothing fancy, small restaurant but very good food

Google
The service was good, and my food came rather quickly. However, I requested that my steak be cooked medium, and it was served incredibly rare (inside looked completely raw) and was full of gristle which made it difficult to cut and chew. It didn't have much flavor either. Lots of other places in Barcelona offer more and better food for less. However, they did offer to correct things, which I did appreciate.

This is a must go in Barcelona, wines and meat are amazing, I go with the high cut. I think that’s how the lady call it out, as advise please call prior to do a reservation, this is a small and such a good restaurant that will be impossible for you to get a table, highly recommended!

One of the best meals (if not the best!) we’ve had in Barcelona. Low-key atmosphere, and the service is friendly but a tad slow. However the food more than makes up for it! We had the croquette mix, ham & cheese empanada, and stuffed provoleta for tapas; the provoleta was to die for! For an entree we split the chicken pamplona, and it was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever put into my mouth! The tiramisu dessert was the perfect ending to an incredible meal.

Yelp
We decided to come to this local restaurant due to the reviews I saw on here. This is a small restaurant and we manage to get a table even though we did not have a reservation. We ordered the croquettes and burrata. The croquettes were nicely crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The burrata was fresh and came with tomato, olives, and some arugula. For the main dishes we both had steak. I went with the sirloin and my friend went with the skirt steak. Both were cooked perfectly and tender. The servers spoke English which greatly helped with the wonderful experience we had for dinner. The meal was decently priced.

Yelp
Meat heaven. This tiny, tiny restaurant packs in the locals. As I sat down, another guy who worked nearby grabbed a seat at the next table and declared that this was some of the best steak in Barcelona. He even said he'd buy meat raw from this place and take it home to cook it. Hell of a recommendation. I ordered the solomillo (sirloin) "poco hecho," which I guess is supposed to be medium rare. The steak was more raw than that, but I didn't care. It was tender and juicy and flavorful. The salt on my platter provided a little extra punch whenever I needed it. The steak came with half a potato, but, unaware of that, I also ordered patatas bravas. Really not the best patatas bravas I've had in Spain, but it's easy to forgive that. The local I spoke to said he recommended the lomo alto, so I'll try that next time. If you want a killer high-quality steak prepared with love, you can get it at La Tavernícola. And as a bonus, it came out quite fast. I'll be back.

Yelp
Both Matthias', Stephie, and Pedrito were very nice and helpful from the moment we walked in. They walked us through the menu in both languages, provided us with chef recommendations, and everything turned out fantastic. It is a small and neat boutique shop very well maintained and visited often by locals. definitely recommend this for the great food, great service, and great ambiance.

Yelp
Excellent Argentinian style steak with housemade Chimichurri sauce. My buddy and I got screwed over by the manager/staff at Tierra Del Fuego (another steakhouse in the area) after they told us to wait 30 minutes because we had no reservation (with no one else around). We ended up waiting an hour over there and the manager at Tierra Del Fuego avoided us once they started seating other parties (locals) without reservations (we directly overheard one of the couples say they didn't have a reservation there). So once we realized we got done dirty by the staff we bounced and headed over here along with another party who had been waiting with us at Tierra Del Fuego. The staff at La Tavernicola were awesome and bussed a table ASAP as soon as they overheard us telling the other party that was there with us after that we had waited an hour at Tierra Del Fuego while getting passed over. At La Tavernícola, we got the Ribeye steak, Argentinian BBQ rib roast, some beef empanadas, and some Chorizo sausage. Everything was solid. The meat could've used a little bit more seasoning but all the meat was super tender and cooked just the way we asked. Staff was cool and kept checking up on us. A+ for service and for going out of their way to get us a table in less than 10 minutes. If you're a tourist and need dining accommodation I would recommend La Tavernicola over Tierra Del Fuego (which looked like it was a two man show over there, maybe a three man show because one of the guys who looked like a worker was just chilling and drinking wine with his friends in between his work duties).

Yelp
Me and my group of friends were in Barcelona for a few days now, and we wanted something different to try, and this was great. This is definitely not a tourist trap, food was great, and our server spoke English which was helpful. We had croquettes, bread with tomatoes, and blood sausages to start. If you haven't had blood sausages before, those are something you should get! And then we had the assortment of Argentinian meats, which you can choose how many servings you want, and you share that board. Great steaks, go for it. Also, I saw another table with rare meats, and a little stovetop on their table so they could grill it themselves, so maybe ask about that. Wide selection of wines too, which decorate the walls.
