La Terraza De San Juan

Beautiful old San Juan building in a great location. The staff were helpful and the two at the breakfast terrace were excellent. Unfortunately, our room, a superior suite had a very squeaky bed, no T.V no room safe and was very dark. The hotel needs visible maintenance in most areas. But the included breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful. The bar was only open once on our three day visit.

Beautiful views from the roof in the heart of Old San Juan. Several historical attractions are all in walking distance, the hills are steep. The hotel is charming being it is several hundred years old. It was clean and team members were kind and accommodating. Free small breakfast and best coffee I've ever had. The rate is much more reasonable than staying at a name brand hotel, allowing you to spend money on other things.

Avoid at all costs!! This hotel is not “charming old” — it’s neglected. There was no working TV remote and no working Wi-Fi. The worker actually told us to restart the router in the hall if we had problems. The room ACs are controlled by staff. The bed linens were dirty, the beds both squeaky. Given the overall lack of cleanliness, we checked for bed bugs before sleeping. This was the noisiest hotel we’ve ever stayed in — sleep was impossible. Since we couldn’t specify where the noises were coming from (floors above or neighboring apartment), the staff wouldn’t address it. Staff were unhelpful and unreachable, never answering the phone or WhatsApp, forcing us to leave our room just to find assistance. The rooftop “pool” wasn’t inviting and was barely bigger than a bathtub. To put an ! on our stay - we had an Uber coming at 4:00 am. When we went out to meet him, we couldn’t open the doors as they had slide bolts into the ceiling and floors (not safe). Some man from some side room and begrudgingly opened the doors. Only plus is the location in beautiful old San Juan.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit nervous to book but I’m so glad we did! Great location, friendly staff, clean room, hot showers, and yummy breakfast. No complaints, we had a great stay!

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and hangout spots just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the area. Despite being close to everything, the hotel itself stays quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing after a long day.||The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I also want to highlight the staff—the employees were genuinely hospitable and welcoming, creating a friendly atmosphere from check-in to check-out.||There are no dining options on-site, and the hotel bars were closed during my stay, which was a bit disappointing. However, the terrace offers beautiful views, making it a great spot to unwind.||Overall, a solid choice for comfort and location, especially if you don’t mind dining out nearby.

As a tourist visiting Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, this hotel was such a beautiful stay! The kitchen was very spacious 🍴 and perfect for cooking or enjoying meals with family/friends. The room felt super comfortable 🛏️ and clean ✨, and the view was absolutely amazing 🌅 — one of the highlights of the trip. The hotel is in a great location 📍, making it easy to explore nearby spots while still feeling relaxing and peaceful. Staff were welcoming and helpful 🤝, which made the stay even better. Highly recommend this hotel to any tourists looking for comfort, space, and unforgettable views 🌴☀️💖.

The hotel is in a very good location, which made getting around easy and convenient. However, the stay had several drawbacks. There was no hot water during our stay, and the Wi-Fi was extremely slow. The bed was not very comfortable, and the room had almost no lighting and no windows, which made it feel quite dark and closed in. Overall, the location is the main advantage, but the room amenities and comfort need significant improvement

It show as boutique, but the place is just old and lacks maintenance. Every ambient has something broken and, in general, lacks cleaning. The showers doesn’t have hot water, no matter how many times we asked for maintenance, we were not able to take a decent shower. Both the restroom and the room are missing lightbulbs that were taken of to save energy – and which makes the spaces very dark. The continentsl breakfast included in the charge is just a simple scramble eggs, toast and juice. There are ACs in the room, but the remote stays in the reception - so every time you want to adjust the temperature, you have to go aks for help in the reception. When I asked on of the staff why wouldn’t they buy additional remotes, the guys asked why didn’t I buy the place to fix it myself... so, staff if not great either. The only thing good in the place is the location. Would definitely stay somewhere else.
