No hot water because they do not have a hot water tank in their basement, just washing machine. If you're lucky some morning it's a slight warm temporary for short time. Now ask yourself this question is it worth paying the very high renting price that they charge? For a couple extra bucks you get better high quality service at any real hotel's west past the capital. .

Room was nicely renovated while keeping the old San Juan charm. Parking is an issue cause you can’t park over night on the street unless you have a resident decal, however if you don’t have a rental car and just using taxi or uber from the airport it’s very centric and walking distance to almost every where in Old San Juan. Amazing views from the roof top terrace and breakfast is delicious. We had lots of mosquitoes in our room, since the hotel doors are open 24/7 and there is no A/C on the halls mosquitoes are waiting for you to open the room to get in the cold. First night we arrived elevator was out of service since they were running with the generator.

Our recent stay at La Terraza Hotel in Old San Juan was deeply disappointing, especially considering we had such fond memories of this place from 10 years ago. While the location remains a major highlight, being within walking distance of most attractions in Old San Juan, everything else about the hotel fell short of expectations. We booked the First Class Suite for a 5-night stay, paying extra to accommodate our family of four, but the experience was far from "first class." The room itself was dirty, and the bed was extremely squeaky with a mattress that sagged noticeably on both sides, making sleep uncomfortable. The air conditioner in the sitting area, where our kids were supposed to sleep on a very uncomfortable pull-out couch, didn't work, leaving them uncomfortably warm throughout the stay. Despite paying for four guests, the hotel only provided two towels, and we constantly had to ask for more, which became frustrating. The bars were closed, and while the hotel advertised a vending machine on the roof, it was mostly empty the entire time we were there. This lack of amenities was particularly disappointing. The dismissive attitude of the staff further soured the experience. Simple requests felt like inconveniences to them, and there was no sense of hospitality or effort to make guests feel welcome. Overall, the only redeeming quality of La Terraza Hotel is its location. Unfortunately, the poor upkeep, lack of amenities, and indifferent service make it a place I cannot recommend. It’s disappointing to see how far this hotel has fallen since our first visit. We won’t be returning.

Booked the superior room with our credit card points. Considering the amount of points and the value mentioned in the booking, we expected something nice. It was very disappointing.|Room had no windows. The place was worn out. Paint splatters everywhere. Everything metal was rusted. Lots of items in the room broken or damaged. Loose crane. Not clean (housekeeping didn’t come first day). Shutters to the hall covered with sheets of paper. No airco remote, you have to get that at the front desk but often nobody is there. |Staff is friendly but not helpful. We asked for information about a trip and we were told to google it. |The terrace with the pool has a nice view. But it also needs a touch up. Most furniture is damaged too.|Positive things: everything in walking distance, no noise from the street as the room was in the back, nice bed.

We booked the garden room for two nights. We only stayed one and then left to go to the Hilton. There is air conditioning in both bedrooms but if it’s on it leaks like crazy. My kids stayed in the room with two twin beds. They couldn’t have the air on because of the leaks dripping on the bedside table (where the lamp was plugged in). We told the front desk about the water but they said no one could come until the next day to look at it. We left the next day and no one had come. We got a key for the room but the wooden door has gotten so swollen from the humidity that you can’t really pull it shut to lock it when you are in the room. But the worst part was the instructions we reviewed when we arrived that advised us “if you flush toilet paper the toilet will clog. Please discard t.p. In the trash”. I paid $688 for two nights to not even be able to flush my toilet paper in the toilet! I was hoping for rustic charm but the charm was completely missing. Do not stay here.

Returning for our second stay we were excited to be centrally located in the heart of Old San Juan again. The roof top terrace with a pool overlooking a historical community was quite inviting. The rooms are clean and tidy though being the building is authentically colonial, is limited on windows with views. The staff was absolutely awesome and were accommodating with any requests we had. Will be sure to book this gem on any return trips we might land in Old San Juan.

The hotel is cute and in a good location; staff was very friendly as well. However the hotel is very run down. Rooms were clean but many everything is sold and in need of replacement. There is not remote for the air conditioning in the room so you have to go to the front desk every time you want to change the temperature. No hot water in the shower. Not possible to do work in the room due to the poor wifi. The pool is more like a little bath tub. We had friends staying in nearby places and you could get way better accommodations for less money.

Had to stay here as an emergency with our Airbnb this was the only hotel that had 1 room open in all of old San juan! The gentleman was kind and efficient. We got a double room for $450, however the walls are thin and the other guests (kids) were very loud with no courtesy of other guests. This is not directed at the hotel but just know your sleep will be interrupted potentially due to disrespectful children. The terrace is very cute!!
