Located five flights of stairs above your cardio capacity, La Terraza rewards your uphill battle with one of the best rooftop views of Plaza de Armas, and a humbling reminder of what thin air and thick tourist traffic feels like.
Although known as a prime sunset spot, we arrived fashionably late… post-sundown. No golden hour, just golden memories of squinting into the night while wrapped in complimentary ponchos that made us look like time-traveling Andean sherpas.
The food leaned toward “pleasantly edible” and the drinks were strong enough to make you think you’re in a Hemingway novel. Service was kind, patient, and admirably tolerant of people arguing over who gets the best seat in the dark.
Even without the sunset, it’s still one of the coolest places to sip a drink and pretend you’re having a profound moment.
