The Best Affordable Hotels in Europe, According to Travel Experts

"Design-forward hotels can often seem stiff and overly stylized. But this boutique jewel in Seville’s historic center feels both comfortable and visually arresting — it’s filled with such treasures as Le Corbusier lamps and Eames chairs. I loved sipping my morning coffee in the central courtyard next to the original stone fountain, and after siesta, I took a dip in the rooftop plunge pool, which looks out over Seville’s red-clay rooftops. Best of all, I left with a suitcase full of souvenirs — Pérez chocolates from Alicante, fig jam from Barcelona’s La Madre de Miren, Andalusian hojiblanca-olive oil — that I bought at the hotel’s superb shop. Doubles from $267." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Review is based on weekly set menu, which I tried several times. The pistachio cheesecake is very good(!), the other dishes were a bit hit and miss, and none of them were above «good». It’s still an overall 5 star because of the cheesecake and good value priced offer (18€ for 3 course set menu w/ drinks and coffee). Venue is welcoming and bright.

I am pleasantly surprised by how good this place is in terms of food and also the value for money. Lunch menu is 15€ for 3 courses: starter, main, dessert or coffee, plus bread and one drink included. It’s an absolutely fantastic deal. The staff are really friendly and speak good English. The decor is absolutely beautiful as I assume it’s part of the hotel across the street. Don’t be afraid of how fancy it looks. I ended up coming 2 days in a row for the lunch menu and amazing food and friendly atmosphere.

Wonderful experience Everything was perfect Beetroot carpaccio Garlic prawns Nachos were all very good to start The Suckling lamb and the Gnocchi for our main courses delicious and the Crema Catalana was the best I have ever tasted. Red wine Cepa 21 was a very nice Ribera del Duero and the young staff were attentive yet not intrusive. Excellent place to dine.

Had a great evening with great drinks, starters and main dishes. Started our evening with cocktails and wine which was tasteful. Had for starters the Avocado and Shrimp, Leaks, Gyoza, and Quinoa salad which were delicious. Had the Chicken Curry, Spinach bake and the Pork Tortilla. And and the Spanish desert to close our evening. Very recommended, great VFM. Had a great experience

Perfect dinner experience 😀 From the design and vibe to the service and of course the food - everything was great. We started with cocktails that were very good. For starters we had: 1. Prawn and avocado tartar salad - excellent! Must try. 2. Placido y Grata Salad - also very good 3. Steamed gyozas - superb. 4. Roasted leek with cashew vinaigrette and citrus hollandais - delicious. Mains: 1. Cannelloni spinach, raisins and pine nuts - very good. 2. Chicken Tikka Masala with Rice Pilaf - was just "ok". Maybe it was too special and different for us 🙂 3. Glazed Pork Rib Tacos in barbecue sauce - the meet was delicious, the tacos not so much. As a feedback the the Chef - co sider changing the Tacos as they were tasteless and a really spoiled the entire dish. Dessert: Torrija - came with an ice cream scoop. Was very good! At the end of the meal we were offered shots, which were a great ending to an excellent dinner - one of the best we had in out 2 week road trip across Andalusia. We will definitely come again and definitely recommend to others. Thanks again! 🙏

A disappointing end of an amazing night.. I booked this restaurant for an amazing evening. Earlier in the day, me and my girlfriend had got engaged. We had been to La Tienda de Plácido y Grata multiple times in 2022 and always had an amazing time. So naturally thought this would be a great place to celebrate our engagement. Sadly, it didn’t live up to our expectations. We got seated quickly & that was great. The service was extremely slow & only 1 waiter serving all of the tables. We ordered Cava (no champagne) & a large water for the table. The water come quickly enough, the Cava sadly didn’t. We then ordered cocktails, which also didn’t come. The nanchos we ordered were burnt & we could tell these weren’t made fresh by the way the oil and cheese were on the plate. The fresh(ish) avocado & salsa didn’t make up or cover up the practically rotten tortilla chips. When I say the food was inedible, I mean it was inedible. I could see in the reflection of the glass the way the Chef was preparing the food & it looked so rushed and unprepared. Thankfully, we decided before our main course come to leave. We had simply had enough. 40ish minutes into being there, the Cava & the cocktails still hadn’t come. The ONLY thing that was good about the evening was that the waiter understood what we were saying and didn’t charge us for the water. We had planned to come to La Tienda de Plácido y Grata multiple times but we won’t be coming back. We are so unbelievably gutted as we had such an amazing experience before.
