I was in this restaurant with my girlfriend and a friend... we very like the style because it looks like authentic Spanish restaurant. They have a nice menu with different dishes also different kind of meet. We tried "caracoles" basically that is the special dish of the restaurant. I really recommend that. My friend and I tried the meet and it was cooked perfect and also very good... My girlfriend tried a salad. They also have a selection of different wine.

Fantastic place to go for classic Catalan style food. Nice quiet place hided in the street. Food are tastefully and the service are great. Recommended food are snail, beef ribs and rabbit. Not so fancy and not so expensive.

I don’t know anything about Catalan food but it was delicious. The quantity was quite a lot so regretted order two dishes for myself. Very nice/friendly staff who taught me how to eat Catalan food.

Our group of 6 had an excellent meal here. We tried two of the snail dishes along with some apps and meat. Everything was delicious and the service was great (Eloy was fantastic). Would definitely recommend if you're interested in trying something new.

Traditional ambience, quick service, great meat and artichokes. Recommended! Around 50 euros for 2 appetisers, 4 beers and a great steak (large portion) - Not good wine by the glass.

Average food, but service quality was terrible. We were there yesterday with a group of friends. Get there at an hour of opening , place were empty but staff have some problems with getting a table for us. It should be a sign but we decide to stay. Later on the waitress ask one of us at the time of ordering if she knows how to eat this meal wery impolite way. During dinner while we were still eating, ask if she can pack us a take-out food. At the end she gave us a calculator to calculate the bill ourselves. We were shocked. Really, if you are foreigner avoid this place.

La Tomaquere is a really nice Spanish and Argentine restaurant. They serve the food really fast, the quality is high and fresh. The waiters are friendly. You can feel like at home, with delicious food. I suggest everyone to go in this restaurant.

Looking for a restaurant where to enjoy really good catalan homemade food? La Tomaquera is probably your place. They offer a wide selection of classic dishes, in a traditional atmosphere. All roasted dishes are remarkable, as well as the snails! You can always rely on a restaurant with a red and white checkered tablecloth !

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to us by a local, for a real "Catalan meal" experience. We opened the door to this tiny place and the aroma was already tantalizing. We enjoyed the unpretentious and authentic atmosphere. The fully tatted waiter was knowledgeable and charming, AND patient with my lack of Spanish. The flank steak was melt in your mouth delicious, and the house salad full of amazing and unexpected treats. We licked our plates clean! This is a butcher case in full view so meat is really their thing and everything is in full view. We loved the authentic atmosphere and the food was delicious. Thank you, Frederic, for the great recommendation. We will tell our American friends about this place!

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try because it was quite crowded. Wow! The meat was amazing! The staff was friendly and fast; and they were able to accommodate multiple languages. I recommend the lamb - out of this world! Also, don't miss the real whip cream and walnuts. Enjoy!

Yelp
Tourists beware! The prices here are a rip off. 10 euro for a piece of bread with some tomatoe juice and a little chorizo. Same price for 5 thin slices of cheese! I don't believe the locals are charged the same price; they wouldn't pay it. The servers are rude also.

Yelp
La Tomaquera is a real classic: hardcore peasant food in the Poble Sec district. There's no telephone and no booking, you just turn up. It's genuine and savage: basically grilled meats (lamb, rabbit or botifarra are the best) and all-i-oli (aïoli) and pa amb tomàquet. It's hugely popular and a great, intoxicating experience. No compromise: just eat a lot, make a lot of noise and celebrate your humanity with intensity.
