We cannot say enough abut Jean and Anne as our hosts in this stunning setting. Prior to our arrival, they worked so hard to arrange a tour for us in one of the caves containing prehistoric art work. They also helped us arrange our hot air balloon reservation as well as tickets to the via ferrata nearby. The amount of time they spent before we even got there to be sure we had a trip of a lifetime is so appreciated. And then we arrived! We were warmly welcomed, greeted with some of their homemade walnut wine, shown the breakfast room and where we could use a refrigerator, utensils and dishes for picnics on the property. Our room was the most beautiful we have ever stayed in--huge beams in a soaring ceiling, lovely wood floors, and a well-equipped bathroom. It was quiet and lovely. Just outside of our room was a coffee maker and tea set up so that we could have a cup before breakfast. And the breakfasts were unreal--homemade yogurt, jams, scrambled eggs made to order, meats, cheeses, juice, coffee, croissants and bread of all kinds and homemade treats made by Anne each morning. Our favorite was the rhubarb pie. Jean and Anne were also helpful in finding us places for dinner, even making reservations for us. The location was perfect to explore the area and there was so much to do-canoeing on the river, touring castles, bike riding along the river, market days at surrounding villages, and then the peaceful quiet of this lovely place to end your day with a glass of wine. We loved every bit of it!
