"The city's best cheese shop Just a short walk from the Vatican Museums, La Tradizione sells more than 400 cheeses, which are carefully selected and, when appropriate, aged. This gourmet shop is hands-down the best place in town to shop for fermented dairy, as well as cured meats, prepared foods, and other gourmet products. To get there, take the Metro A to Cipro. La Tradizione is across the street from the Metro stop. And while you are there, pop over to Pizzarium, which is only 200 yards away."
"La Tradizione is a family-owned food emporium like no other. It's loaded with everything you love about Italy—wine, cheese, meats, pasta, sweets, and more—and it's always busy. Here's where you will find very particular regional Italian specialities: fresh ricotta from Roma, yes; tortellini from Bologna, yes; Tiella from Gaetta, yes; bubbles from Lombardia, yes. When you see something that's particularly hard to find elsewhere, just go for it—it may not come back in stock anytime soon." - Erica Firpo
Very high quality meats. Staff very knowledgeable on what products fit your taste needs. Decent pricing.

True to its reputation, the choice and quality of cheese and cured meats is probabaly amongst the best in the city. As a tourist who might not fully understand how the different products with Italian names translate into taste, the sales person was very open to helping out and offering slices of salami’s and cheese to taste before buying! He also spoke good English and made me feel welcome to his excellent shop and recommended products that’ll survive the journey back home. Thank you for all your help. I reckoned this place highly.
Grazie.

Had an amazing time sampling different cheeses. It was great we tried cheese from all over Italy. This is not far from the Cipro metro station.

Beautiful store. Beautiful colours. Beautiful products.
However, the ready-to-eat food was not good quality.
- Melanzane parmigiana: aubergine row, hard and very wet
- Stuffed peppers: very very salty
- Vitello tonnato: too much vinegar
- Couscous: no taste at all
- Porchetta: veeeeery fat porchetta
- and the price: €60. I didn't take the receipt with but there were 3 things with €10 cost. Probably seafood, probably porchetta and what else? €10 for a portion of aubergine or the vitello?
If you are going to open a restaurant, please, have a meeting with the chef. You have a beautiful store, your foods can be improved.

Wonderful service. We arrived just after closing and the shop owners opened again for us to sample cheeses and prosciutto. Everything was delicious but it was the friendliness of the staff that made this place such a delight.

The butcher was very rude, I took my friends who were visiting Rome to this place, and I heard butcher was shouting in Italian: "What's wrong with these tourists, they never buy anything just come and go!" In fact, we really didn't buy anything and left the place, I was very angry at his attitude, he had no right to comment on others like this publicly.

A real hidden gem venue located in the neighborhood called Prati, near the Vatican City. There are hundreds of types of cheeses, hams, balsamic vinegars and wines. The staff are friendly, helpful and kind
