This lovely spot on Parque Santa Lucía was excellent! Their daily drink special is 2x1 Aperols Spritzes, so a great way to begin a meal. There is an outdoor patio, and also a stylish indoor dining room, which I preferred. I came here with a friend and ate pizzas, and we so enjoyed the food and experience we decided to return for a second night. Pizzas were brilliantly cooked in a wood oven and paired with a bottle of wine made a great meal. We shared a house salad - super fresh with a excellent vinegar-forward dressing. I usually like to try different restaurants when travelling, but in this case wanted to return. The second meal did not disappoint! We shared a Cesár salad and order pastas, all of which were delicious. The wine list offers a great varierty of wines from across the globe. If I lived in Mérida, I would dine here at least once a week!

We have our breakfast here. Andres, our server was excellent. Service was good, fast, precise, and welcoming. Food was well cooked and well presented. We had avocado toast, omelet, yogurt granola bowl, juice. Coffee was tasty. Music is well selected, and whole place has a an italian chill vibe.

Pasta was perfect!! Our main dishes were the black ink pasta, and the pasta was home made and PERFECT!! A lot of Italian joints in vegas on the strip would dream of making pasta this well!! Pizza was good but pasta stole the show!!! Service was attentive and we appreciated the pace of the meal. The antipasta fresh mozzarella was fantastic though it didn’t have enough of the wonderful herb blend on the bottom to add flavor. They did send complimentary flatbread with chimchurri that had wonderful flavor. I wish I could move this restaurant to vegas!!! Pizza had local sausage… a little spicy (for my parents) but I thought it was mild and great with the pepper flakes.

We had an assortment of the pastas and of course Argentine Beef, all were amazing. Andre and the entire team provided top notch service, definitely 5 star!! Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Google
Beautiful restaurant overlooking the Santa Lucia plaza. Eight the margherita pizza and the sausage pizza, both were delicious. Staff was friendly. There is a court at the back of the restaurant which is nicely decorated and creates a lovely atmosphere in the evening.

The food was amazing and so was the service! Carlos/Charlie was our server. He was very attentive and responded quickly to our needs. We’d definitely recommend and we’d go again in future.

Great food, ambiance, and service! Fernando and Pino were the best :) I loved the grilled salmon and the Aperol spritz!

Yelp
Wonderful place to pause for a mid-day lunch. I tend to find restaurants outside the US with English menus are often very substandard, but this place was well located in one of the famous plazas in town, had wonderful ambiance, great food and a nice variety, and really tasty 2-1 Aperol Soritz's. The bill for the 4 of us was c. $90 including 2 beers and 6 cocktails plus a lovely complimentary appetizer of home backed bread with oil and pesto. Recommend. Would come back!

Yelp
THIS!!!! Ohhh myyyy!!! What an amazing restaurant!!! Visiting my friend in Merida and she suggested this. It's very elegant yet the prices were amazing. We wanted to sit outside but it actually had been raining off and on and so we decided to sit inside. We had plenty of room and almost felt like we were the only ones there. Our waiter was great! We explained that we didn't know much Spanish and between the two of us we communicated very well. We stated off with a bottle of wine and ordered our food. We were a little confused when they brought out a charcuterie board, but he explained it came with our bottle of wine! Yummy. We also ordered the margarita pizza, spaghetti and ravioli all of it was amazing. I can't wait to come back next time and try something different. If you are ever in Merida give it a try. You will not be disappointed

Yelp
Wonderful people watching location in Santa Lucia park. Good service, good Italian food.

Yelp
Amazing food, especially the house bread. A nice place to sit in St Lucia Plaza and eat.

Yelp
We were staying in a local Airbnb right behind Parque Santa Lucia. Our host shared a list of local bars and restaurants that are some of his favorites, so La Tratto was already on our radar. We had drinks in the park a few nights and saw huge promo signs showcasing a Paquette Premium for $295 including an appetizer, main course and dessert. At about $15 US it looked like a pretty good deal. The outside area is well separated from the park by a hedge wall and the tables are spaced out nicely. As expected we had our temperature taken, were offered hand sanitizer and all staff had on masks and face shields. Our server, Antonio, could not have been nicer or more helpful. With our minimal Spanish he gladly assisted with very good English. We started with cocktails while we looked at the list of items included in the promotion. My husband had a Margarita on the Rocks ($80) and I had a glass of their house Trotter Cabernet ($180). The Margarita was good, and while the red wine was nice it wasn't a full bodied as I would have expected. The promo offered a about six or seven each, appetizers and entrees with Tiramisu for dessert. My husband chose the Caesar Salad for his first course, as it was listed as an 'ensaladita" we expected a fairly small side salad and were really surprised by the size. Additionally, the dressing was excellent. I ordered the Beef Carpaccio, again a surprisingly large portion, as the menu price for the regular size portion was nearly the cost of the entire combination. The Beef was shaved paper thin, with a nice balance of fat and lean. It was topped with a drizzle of truffle oil that was not at all overpowering, Spiced Pepper Slices, shaved Parmesan Cheese and drops of a Garlicy Aioli. I would absolutely order it again, one of the most flavorful carpaccio dishes I've had and well balanced. They also brought us some warm, freshly baked bread, almost pita like, served with a Chimichurri type dipping sauce. For his entrée my husband went with the Fettuccini Tuscany with Chicken, one of our Airbnb hosts recommendations. The dish included a nice portion of Chicken in a Lemon, Garlic Cream Sauce with Spinach. Again, a good portion and packed with flavor. I opted for the Mediterranean Scampi. The dish was made with Black Spaghetti, a Lemon Beurre Blanc Sauce, fresh Tomato, Broccoli and had about eight nice sized Shrimp. Great flavor, great texture and way more food than I expected. The Tiramisu was unfortunately the weakest dish, not horrible by any means, just not WOW. It was dense and creamy but needed more of that coffee flavor that Tiramisu should have. Overall, La Tratto has a wonderful location, the staff was wonderful, the food was delicious and for the price the Paquette Premium at $295 was a winner! Definitely someplace we would go back to again. Two notes at the risk of stating the obvious - the $ in Mexico denotes Pesos. So, don't be alarmed if you've been to more touristy areas in Mexico where prices are in US dollars. At the time of dining, our costs in US dollars were: Margarita = $80 pesos or about $4.00 US Trotter Cabernet = $180 pesos or about $9.00 US

Yelp
Went here for Sunday dinner. Place was crowded so we had a wait at the bar. Our table was ready in about 20 minutes. We were hungry so we ordered right away. I got the linguini with a mushroom oil sauce, and others got the chicken Marsala and the chicken with a creamy parmigiana sauce. The linguini was really good with a lot of flavor, the chicken in creamy parmigiana sauce was good. The chicken Marsala did not have a lot of Marsala flavor. My wife even asked for more sauce which did not help. Live eating in this park and the surroundings.

Yelp
Since I don't speak spanish, my attempts at trying to find out the types of whiskey the restaurant has turned into an annoying and embarrassing problem. Perhaps they could list their whiskeys on the menu, as many restaurants do. Then the staff won't need to get so bothered at my attempts to see what they have. I would think they have a good selection but I had to settle for Johnny Black because it's the only thing they understood.

Yelp
Great food, service and environment! Pizzas, fresh Pasta and Piñas coladas are amazing!

Yelp
Sadly I can't even review the food. Me and my partner requested an Uber from our hotel outside the city, at the moment of stepping out of the car my partner took his face mask off because I took a picture of him, then he dropped the face mask in a puddle of water, from there we walk a few steps and requested a table for two, I ask the hostess if there was any table inside and explained to her the face mask situation and she told me that he needed to wear one in order to go inside the restaurant, then I requested an outside table (the ones under the portales) she said that my partner could not walk a couple of feet (from the hostess stand to the table) to take a sit on the outside table because the situation, then I requested a face mask from them and she told me in a very indifferent and rude way that they didn't have any to provide us. Long-short story he walk in covering his mouth and nose with his shirt, took a sit and the waiter took our drinks order, three minutes after that an other person arrived at the table (probably the manager) and kicked us out. We ask why he was kicking us out and he told us that it was because my husband didn't had a "proper" face mask before taking a sit. We left. Sad... we understand the face mask situation, I walked in with my face mask on, he walked in covering his mouth and nose, we walk out without face covering and very disappointed of the situation. To the owner: your team needs training. To the people working there: tourists are very important for you and your city!! We walk to the opposite corner of the plaza, explained the face mask situation to the waiter, he walked in and a minute later came out with a face mask for my husband, took out our temperature and provided us with hand sanitizer. We had a wonderful night at Rosa Sur 32. Food and service was amazing!! Thanks for helping us out (your customers) to help you out.

Yelp
My wife and I wanted to eat dinner at another nearby Italian restaurant but it was closed so we decided to give La Tratto a try. We sat inside at the bar to enjoy some air conditioning and catch a few innings of baseball on the large screen TV. We shared a Cobb salad and sausage pizza which was a perfect amount for the two of us. The food was very good as well as the service. Drinks were 1/2 off for happy hour. I'd definitely come back here again

Yelp
Great place for lunch. Stopped in randomly for an afternoon bite. Shared a Caesar salad with my girlfriend - great dressing and juicy chicken. They also brought out some complimentary flatbread with some fantastic olive oil. We shared the margarita pizza as our plata fuerte and added a little arugula - and it was phenomenal. With a half bottle of wine and all that it came out for $15 a person. Not too shabby for the quality and the change of pace.

Yelp
Great place to go to get a nice meal in Merida. La Tratto does a great job of offering traditional Italian cuisine but with a nice Mexican twist to it, so you don't feel like you're getting food you could eat anywhere. The location is also beautiful, with a great view of Parque Santa Lucia. Would definitely recommend!

Patrick S.

Yelp
Insultingly small portions of wine. My "glass" of wine was literally the smallest glass I have ever been served. I complained and was told no, that's a full glass So then I ordered a "quartino" of wine (which literally means a quarter liter) and it was less than I would get in a single glass normally. (see photo: that's the full, untouched portion). Hate to bitch, but 225 pesos (over US$11) for a Mexican red that was barely passable? Fail. When I politely complained in Spanish to the manager I was told I was just wrong, that's a full quartino, measured. Umm, no. It isn't. It's not not even close. You are just ripping us off.

Yelp
Terrible restaurant. During our honeymoon, my husband and I came to eat at this restaurant. I ordered a daiquiri and it tasted great. However, I soon came to realise that there was a hair in it, which should have been the first sign. We proceeded to order salads. Two salads were 470 pesos ($25 dollars). This salad was very small and completely basic, definitely not worth the money. The pizza was definitely nothing special either. Finally, we paid for the overcharged food and left our waiter a tip. He came over to get his money faster than he had served us throughout our meal. To top it all off, the waiter told my husband to give him a bigger tip. This was unbelievable and COMPLETELY unprofessional. I immediately stood up to leave but my husband insisted on just giving him the money. If it were up to me I would have taken back what we did give him and left him with absolutely nothing, which is what he deserved. You can get much better food and MUCH better service for a lower price almost anywhere else. Terrible restaurante. Durante nuestra luna de miel, mi esposo y yo vinimos a comer a este restaurante. Pedí un daiquiri y estaba delicioso. Sin embargo, pronto me di cuenta de que tenía un pelo, lo que debería haber sido la primera señal. Procedimos a pedir ensaladas.

Yelp
This is a hard call. The food is fine and price is acceptable but it just lacks a little kick in the food. This is like a fake Italian place in the U.S. trying to be a high end restaurant. The decor is high end but the food doesn't match quite well. First we had the black seafood spaghetti and my husband had the all cheese pasta. I thought mine was good but the cream was lacking some taste. My husband's pasta was too cheesy and he didn't think it was that good. Another time we had the caprese salad and the mozzarella was disappointing and the tomatoes looked good without much flavor. The spaghetti with pine nuts was good but the vegetables in it tasted a little cold and lacked the fresh flavor. Overall I like the place ok but it's no comparison with Oliva. Here is the issue. With Oliva around all other Italian restaurants are just not good enough. However, this place is located more central and spacey with nice courtyard feel. It's a nice place for a date night I guess.

Yelp
Excellent! Love this place! We come to Merida at least once a year and this is one of our faves when we've had our fill of Yucatecan food. Our favorite pizza is the Margarita con burrata. Simple but so delicious. Tonight my daughter tried the ravioli stuffed with chicken and cheese and she loved it. The complimentary bread and dipping sauce is also delicious. Service was excellent and we truly enjoyed our night. Be sure to give it a try!

Yelp
Monday is the best day to go there for lunch. Any of the pizzas on the menu are $115.00 pesos. We ordered the arugula and proscioutto and the Chicken or Chino salad which as very good. The pizza was a personalize with a nice crust and fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and topped wit arugula. One of my observation to this restaurant is that the music is awfully loud so one can have a conversation with your guests. Service was fine but when the bill came the waiter asked me if I would give him 15% tip so he could include it on the bill which I thought was poor form. I forgot to mention that we also had 2 coffees and 2 capuchinos that were great along with a cheese cake with guava that wasn't that good. I certainly would go back for Monday pizza though.

Josh V.

Yelp
The service is very attentive, but not excellent. The food here is good, but not superb. I have the feeling that several dishes are made from frozen meats and fish rather than fresh, and that the pastas are definitely not made in-house. I'm okay with that, however the prices are slightly high for the quality. 15% less would be more reasonable. With that said, it's not a go-to choice of mine but it's always a backup option depending what I'm in the mood for.

Yelp
I'm with Cai D. on this. Tough call. I had just had dinner at Apoala the evening before (a restaurant just across the square), which is perhaps a tough comparison, but it's what's most fresh in my mind. The menu is very predictable - not predictable for a Mexican restaurant, but rather for (in Cai D's words) a fake Italian place in the U.S. In addition to the pizza and pasta, they have salads and entrees along the lines of arugula and pear, chicken caesar, a dish or two with quinoa, a "chino latino" (think asian salad at the California Pizza Kitchen), salmon with couscous and spinach, seared tuna, etc., etc. Cocktails are standard and not all that interesting (i.e. manhattan), but they do have a fair selection of wines. I ordered the salmon. It came out with something that looked like spicy mayo across (but didn't have much flavor otherwise), and the spinach was doused in oil. I had trouble getting the waiter's attention, so actually stood up and went right up to ask someone after I had been waiting for nearly 10 minutes. Thankfully (5 stars for this part), they took back the plate and brought it back with fresh, unadulterated spinach along with some additional vinegars, oils, and salsa on the side. Appreciated. And so the salmon with spinach was okay, but there was nothing unique or innovative about anything in the dish, or even the restaurant / experience as a whole. I keep going back to Apoala - something so simple (steak tacos), but every single detail, from the way they cooked the steak, to the way they served the tortillas, to the rosemary smoking in the drink they had nailed. Impeccable service, incredible experience. In comparison, I felt like I was getting dinner at Pret a Manger or Applebee's: food that fills you up, nothing else. The price put the nail in the coffin. $27 USD for entree, water, and wine vs. $26 for entree, water and cocktail the evening previous. Super cheap for good food in New York, but très cher for mediocre in Merida.

Natalie M.

Yelp
We spent a night at the hotel across the street from this restaurant and since it happened to have excellent reviews and looked great from the outside, we decided to give it a try. Many were dining outside in the very pretty courtyard, but it was a bit too hot for us so we headed indoors. The restaurant is very nice, with a very pretty enclosed garden and a large open kitchen. My partner and I shared a a pasta dish with spaghetti noodles, a red sauce, veggies, and chicken, in addition to a margarita pizza. We also each ordered a glass of Mexican Tempranillo; I had never tried Mexican wine before and this one tasted great. The pasta arrived first and it was very good, the sauce was flavorful and they put just the right amount on which allowed us to still enjoy the flavors of the fresh veggies and chicken. The pizza arrived after we had finished the pasta and I thought it was very good.

Yelp
Excellent food in Centro Historico in Merida, Yucatan. I had the Bistro salad and the Steak Au Pouvre. Highly recommended.

Yamile E.

Yelp
Great Italian food! Amazing amazing service with friendly staff. In the cutest little park with pleasant music and atmosphere. Must try if you want a brief break from Yucatecan cuisine. ++

Adel E.

Yelp
Extremely average and bland Italian food. Pizza was over done. Pasta are far from authentic. Overpriced beer and they tag service charge on top. I would avoid while visiting Merida.

Melinda B.

Yelp
We were sent by a nice woman at the gallery we viewed earlier and she suggested their Happy Hour. You never really know what Happy Hour will be but this one was great! All beers and liquor are half price between 6 and 9pm (does not include wine). We had 4 top shelf margaritas a beer and a pizza for around $25! My guess is happy hour is not on the weekends, but I didn't confirm. (This was a Wednesday) Pizza was excellent as they have a pizza oven.

Robert B.

Yelp
Excellent Ravioli dish!!! The artichoke spinach dip is one of my favorite appetizers. We have been La Trotto customers (in their previous location included) for the past 8 years and have never had a bad experience. In fact they were the first restaurant we ever dined at in Merida, when we first moved here. So glad they are now walking distance from our home in gorgeous the Santa Lucia neighborhood.

Viviane G.

Yelp
This is supposed to be a higher-end restaurant? We sat at the bar at first, for some drinks. The waiter, who was obviously in training, could not answer any of our questions about the drinks on the menu. He seemed lost and disoriented, and was completely useless. We were brought utensils and plates, but had to summon the waiter in order to get a menu. This is completely ridiculous. The waiter never asked us if we wanted another drink, rather we had to summon him over for that too. We ordered a Caesar salad which was tasteless and bland.Very disappointed with the entire experience. Go to Rafaellos down the block for much better food at half the price!!

Brandon B.

Yelp
Worst service ever! They don't like foreign people at all. First of everything, we try to call several times and nobody answer the phone. We want to make sure that they're open and taking reservations. (Anyways it was a party of 2) however we arrive to this place and the host screaming at me because I don't have my face mask on, I told her that I lost it on the rain earlier, and ask her if she have one for me... (I can pay for it) she just laughed in my face and told me that's not possible at all . So I just go into the table in the PATIO. With my face and mouth cover with my shirt. ( the only thing that I can do) they offer me drinks and 3 minutes after that, the "manager" ( i think) came out and told us that we need to leave because I don't have a face mask. We thought it was a joke, but not. They literally kicked us out. How I'm gonna get food with a face mask on ? By the way... Place it was EMPTY! Sad story because my husband and I we just bought a place here, in Merida; and we are celebrating, but we can't try this place and off course we never tried it! You guys need a capacitation of yours employees ASAP! We walk 20 feet, and we saw a nice place called ROSA SUR 32. We tried they're food and wow! Amazing place, amazing food and amazing coustomer service.we explain to the waitress what happened to us and they even can't believe it! So if you're looking to have a good time, this place is not the correct one!

Dayna L.

Yelp
Such good food and service here! Had my first taste of habanero salsa here and although my mouth was on fire, it was such a good burn. They even gave me some to take home. I got a pizza and steak. Both were mouth watering. There is a beautiful outside seating area where you can enjoy street performers from your table. The staff constantly checks on you to make sure you are comfortable. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Michael K.

Yelp
Very mediocre food and poor service. There are definitely more interesting restaurants in Merida. Hard to beat the outside seating in the plaza though. So come with the right expectations, enjoying music (the night we were there a couple singing Carpenters songs in spanish?!)

Jayne H.

Yelp
We had a wonderful evening at La Tratto. The outdoor seating is within the park and it easy to relax, watch people and enjoy reasonably priced high quality food. The complimentary fresh bread is like a pita and served with garlic seasoned olive oil. We followed this with a series of appetizers, salad and wine. Definitely recommend this!

Ricky O.

Yelp
The food is excellent, but the service is not quite as good as La Recova, which is in the same plaza.

Kohn W.

Yelp
Get the pizza with sun dries tomatoes and basil. You'll be happy and keep going back. The pasta is also delicious, but not as special as the pizza.
